Not really an improvement over calling a cab. We scheduled a car to pick us up at a party; the car showed up on time and because we were not standing outside (it was 30-deg F and snowing), it just left. The driver called a cell # and gave up - no thought of maybe going into the restaurant where the party was or anything like that. So we called a cab. These guys are on time and their cars are clean, but I don't know. For my money I would just call a cab. Next time I want a driver for the evening I think I'll go with a limo service - more $ to be sure, but at least there is some flexibility. read more

I utilized this company but stopped because the drivers were smoking in the cars; the cars sounded like they were gonna fall apart, the drivers went from professional looking to looking like old cab drivers....and now I can never get them to answer the phone. So, in reality; I guess I got dumped cause they aren't answering my call. read more

I came here to write a review and, unfortunately, had the same experience as reviewer A.G. Almost to the letter. The car I reserved never showed up. I called about a week ahead to place an order for a car to take me to the airport for a business trip. I did not have a great deal of confidence in the reservation since the gentleman with whom I spoke seemed annoyed to be talking to me and hasty to get me off the phone. Didn't get my name nor my phone number. When I questioned him about the phone number he said in a terse tone something to the effect of using the number I was calling from. One should not assume that is the same phone number I would be at the day of pickup. I was not feeling confident about the transaction at all, but decided to proceed. On day of pickup no one had arrived within 10 minutes of my pickup time. I called their phone number and received a message saying "all lines are busy...please do not leave a message". I called it again. Same. At that point I couldn't risk missing my flight so I called a taxi. Good thing because 20 minutes after pickup time they still had not arrived (I was standing out front of my building) nor had they called me to tell me they were on their way. Since calling them was not proving successful I emailed them to tell them of the issue (as I was riding in the taxi I had called). Nearly a week later I still have not received a call or email apologizing or following up in any way. Needless to say I will never use Central Car Service nor recommend them to any of my friends or colleagues. Fortunately I always leave enough of a time buffer to get to the airport so I did not miss my flight. I wouldn't recommend trusting them with important dates or times to get to places. Personally, I would never want to give my business to a company who flat out disrespects some of their (potential) clients. read more

I called Central Car Service in the middle of the night; it took about three tries but someone called me back within 5 to 10 minutes. The driver arrived to my location (Littleton) on time, was friendly, and knew the route to Boulder well. The pricing was okay--better than most taxi services in the Denver area! This company is full of safety hazards, the cars break down all the time leaving people like us on the side of the roads for hours. The seatbelts don't even work! And some of the drivers seriously seem like there on drugs or something. I got charged $100 for an 10.8 mile ride which should of been $33 then the manager guy on the phone gave us a hard time about it. I found them via an internet search and was very happy with the service and the price ($50 each way). They were very responsive to email and made paying by credit card quite simple. I came here to write a review of my experience with this company based on points like promptness, friendliness, cleanliness, price, etc...but sadly none of this will be possible for the simple fact that the car I reserved never showed up at all. I called and placed a reservation 2 days ahead of a concert I was attending, and was a little nervous from the beginning due to the fact that the gentleman I spoke to on the phone seemed rather annoyed to be even taking the call at all. I was surprised that he wasn't interested in things such as my name, form of payment, and didn't even take the full address of the planned pick up location. I forged ahead anyway, gave him my name and cell # and set the pick up time for 5:30 p.m. The gentleman hung up quickly after a very terse "I'll put it in the calendar". I was not filled with confidence to say the least. The day of the show came, and the 5:30 pick up time came and went, and no car. I waited ten minutes and attempted to call them only to get a recording saying "all lines are busy...please do not leave a message" After waiting ten more minutes, and attempting to call several more times I decided to forget it and leave. I was also quite shocked that for the entire evening I never received a follow up call with an apology, or a "We're here...where are you?". It was as if the reservation never happened, and certainly seems like it didn't matter to them. Over-all I would say that this company is unreliable at best, and I would not recommend them. If their rates are comparable to a taxi I would go that route in the future. read more
