I wanted to take a moment to review American Airlines just because they keep getting better and better with their customer service. The whole crew is always nice to us and provides excellent service whenever we go. Every year with book with them because we felt great flighting with them. Their app system is well organized and the departure and arrivals are always pretty accurate. If you want A-1 experience to your destination I definitely recommend them! read more

I fly AA exclusively and made that decision after years of flying all other airlines... AA is consistently good, they might not be great all the time, but overall, neither is any other airline and they do right by me. The food in first class is pretty decent for a domestic airline as well. I'm happy to be a top tier flyer with them and will continue to fly AA! read more

I've been traveling with this airline for the past 10 years and never had issues with any of their employees. If I could get give this bullshit airlines a 0 instead of 1 , i will definitely do it. Faced a lot of harassment and racism. A thief male manager charged me $830 for my carry on and did not let me get on the airplane until he also searched the carry on, and he said (if you don't like what is going on then you can book another flight but either way you will pay us today). And i would beat the hell out of you if I wasn't in need for this travel. American Airlines please know what kind of employees are you picking and practice them well cuz that's bullshit. read more

Tried this airline both in economy and first. First time was to Turks and Caicos . Amazing service it was quick and easy flight. Second flight was to Denver in first class. Amazing service had the fruit and cheese plate it was good. read more

Recently flew from Philly to Denver. Our pilot was absolutely incredible given the circumstances. There was a lot of rough weather along the route but even though we went around the storm and it took an extra hour his decision was definitely good! Honestly I think that they should've postponed the flight to avoid the weather because that did NOT seem safe! Flight attendants were very nice though. Also no screens on flight but they did have 20min of free WiFi for watching a ad so that's a W read more

I will never book a flight on this airline again. I usually use Southwest and wish my company had booked me on this. I had to change my flight. I spent 40 minutes on the phone. I looked at the flight I wanted to change it to...I wanted to change it to a lower class to defray the cost of the predatory $150 change fee for a flight 2 months out with plenty of availability for other flights (unlike Southwest whose fares would have been much cheaper for the same flight and don't charge for changing flights). I waited on the phone for 45 minutes trying to change this flight, chose a flight at a lower class to defray the ridiculous $150 change fee and was told I could not change it to a lower class and that I would have to call another number to make these changes. I will never fly this overpriced company who makes it difficult and expensive to change a flight. A horrible experience and would give 0 stars if I could. I will be encouraging my company to no longer fly with American but to switch over to Southwest for both cheaper fares and no hassle when having to change a flight. read more

We were delayed by over SEVEN hours traveling from Denver to Chicago because of plane maintenance issues. No meal compensation. No hotel compensation. Nothing. Barely an apology. Extremely disappointed and will not be flying again w AA if we can help it. read more

So from London to Denver was a 9 hour trip and I was glad to be home! I was all holiday out! London is a nice place to visit but I would rather be in the good old mile high mountains! So let's talk about American Airlines! I had a good experience! The movie selection was good and the food wasn't bad! I had a few drinks and I went to sleep! There was good legroom and blankets available! I do recommend this airline! read more

Sitting here waiting for no apparent reason. Have been boarded for half an hour and I am going to miss my connecting flight. No one is really trying to get us going. I have flown American 3 times and all three times it was horrible service, for different reasons!! Never again read more

So I arrived early to check in and when I say early I mean early. The line to check in is unbelievable, no one is around and all kiosks are down. So I think no big deal, I'm already checked in, so noted when I checked in I was having issues to begin with and had booked my flight 3 days ahead of time. So as I'm talking to the agent and she is asking for all my credentials, id, passport, confirmation number everything. She proceeds to tell me I'm sorry but you not on this flight.... I'm flying from Denver to Houston, so anyways what do mean? She told me that I had canceled my flight, I said no I didn't I have confirmation that I'm on this flight. I was being very Pleasant with them but that didn't matter basically said sorry nothing I can do. I said if there is a cancellation don't you send a confirmation they said yes, well I have it to send me a text and email.... Because that way there is no way they can't let me know changes.! So after an hour they say hey we will put you on standby, fly out later which was fine but what about my luggage? Oh it should be in Houston. Well all this hassle with them it is not with it. They over book a flight and blame the customer and we pay the price. If in anyway I will not fly with them if it is possible. This is how it with American Airlines!!!! They're hub is here in Denver and it sucks!!! Delta is the only way to go. Well see you in Houston bags! read more

When I cleared TSA, proceeding to wait around the departure gate, the app alerted me that I would need to change flight to make it to my connections due to weather delayed. We made the mistake of using AA for the first time. We will stick to United. Delayed flight from Denver to Dallas without letting us know why. I'm stuck between a 3 and 4. I absolutely hate that you're charged for WiFi when literally everything else is being charged for. Everything these days runs off of WiFi. I know it's trivial, but I feel like these days it seems everyone only cares about how much extra money they can make. Anyways! It was a short flight so there wasn't much else to say. It was a smooth flight, staff were sweet so that was a bonus. read more

Saturday, March 25th, 2023 The Yelp reviews speak for themself. Wow. Shocked but not shocked. 3/25/2023 ARRIVAL 9:30pm-10:30pm My husband was at the counter waiting to get our boarding passes for a red eye flight, there were three lines, one for priority customers, one for main cabin and the other for baggage check. There were 1-3 workers and zero organization as they were only attending to baggage check lines and not priority and main cabin and people were beyond livid. GATE 10:30pm-12:20am Then at the gate C36 AA Flight 500 DEN to MIA The younger worker calls my name so my husband goes to inquire if we made the flight or not, the worker says "yes", my husband says "me too?" and the worker says "yes" and proceeds to direct us to the counter to retrieve boarding passes. The lady comes from inside the plane to the counter, we inform her my name was called and the young male worker sent us to the counter for boarding passes. The lady was on an instant power trip of some kind stating: "I'm the only one to call passengers", we said "but he just did and sent us for our boarding passes" She continued, insisting she's the only one to call passengers, she said "there's a line of standbys ahead of you", we said "we know but he called us, told us we made the flight and to get boarding passes", she said "that's not how it works" I then ask, "how long has he worked here?", she gives me a death stare and says "be polite", I said "when was I not polite" and she ignored me like a ghost so I sat down and said nothing and looked at no one. She waits to the very last possible second and says "we only have room for one person not both of you" and separated us. As the young man who caused all this walks me in the plane, he asks "how has my night been so far?" I said "fine, until this counter ordeal", he seemed perplexed, I reminded him of him calling us, telling us we both made it on the flight and to get boarding passes and all that the woman said The young worker admitted he mistook me for someone else and had indeed messed up I told him "I asked how long you worked here because that was a rookie mistake and the two of you were not on the same page", I said "because of your mistake, she spoke to me like crap, told me to be polite when I was polite but I guess I'm a rude c*nt to her After I left on the flight, that young male who self admitted to his mistake and caused this entire ordeal, reported what I said to him and there was a huge show back at the counter, all taken out on my poor husband who they deliberately made to stay behind, degrading and spoken to like a child. They filed a "report" and who knows what else all because of this young male worker and power tripping woman not doing their jobs correctly and the passengers paying the price. NEVER EVER NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

They lost my child's car seat. Did not scan it so I cannot find it on the app, nor the website. They have a three hour wait during phone calls and hang up once you explain the issue. Got delayed more than 6 times when asked for refund they denied it because I got on the flight... but yet we waited over 8 hours from DFW(Dallas) to DEN(Denver). Worst experience with an airline by far. And that's saying something when I travel four times a year. read more

I had a great trip until I had to use this airline to return home. It took almost an hour for someone to attend to the captains personal seatbelt which means time had to stand still and 100s of people either missed their connecting flights or had to completely reschedule. This airline isn't capable of much. Look elsewhere and don't waste your time here. Trust me, they will waste your time. More than 3 hours of your time to address a single seatbelt. read more

My flight was delayed initially for several hours due to a maintenance issue. Then it was delayed several more times for several more hours because they couldn't get a flight crew. Eventually it was delayed until the next day. I understand delays happen, but just cancel the flight up front rather than forcing me me to stay in the airport for 9 hours only to cancel it anyway. Then I was told that I could get a hotel and American would reimburse me. I was told it was easy to go on the website and request. However, I can't find anything on the website related to this type of request. I've not waited on hold a couple time for hours only to get disconnected. So I put in an email request and was told via automated message that could take up to 7 days or more to receive any sort of response. I still have not gotten this matter resolved and I will be surprised at this point if I ever will. read more

If I could give American Airlines a ZERO I would. What a total shit airline. Rude and the worst customer service on the planet. No wonder I always fly Delta. read more

I'd have to agree with the low star reviews. I do not think I'll fly AA again after the experience my mother and I have had and after two notably less than par chats with AA's "customer service". My flight was delayed by 9 hours and 55 min, not during "weather". Initially we were told it was due to staffing and then we were told it was maintenance. Regardless, the apologies were not sincere so not effective. When I chatted customer service to see if I could be refunded and take another airline, I was told my flight could only be refunded if it was delayed more than 90 min; my flight was delayed 9 hrs and 55 min. I may not be good at math but pretty sure 9 hrs is more than 90 min. The agent told me my flight wasn't "delayed" but that it had been "changed". . . Then why did every email AA sent me with every change and the AA app state my flight was "delayed"? I'll stick with United and SW. read more

Crooks!!! These guys charged me for my flight, canceled same day and rescheduled it to the next. This is understandable, sure, it happens. However good luck getting a refund. Their systems request you provide a "flight number" when all I've received is a reservation code. Calling in to see where I can find this or be refunded my $700 ticket (not to mention they still charged me for checking bags...on a flight I didn't take) the time for a hold/callback is 11 HOURS. NO. Just NO. I purchased a ticket to France from American Airlines, back in November of 2019 for $400.00 which isn't so bad. The trip was set for August of 2020. In March of 2020, Nick totally made me fall in love with him for even offering to join me on what was supposed to be my second solo travel trip. Europe was not in the best standing for a while now, given recent events and all the politics going on. My plan was to take a train to Toulouse and fly in from Charles De Guile which was cheaper. American Airlines over the phone wait time was over two hours. Their service was a disgusting nightmare. I went to their ticket counter, and dealt with a rude girl. I told the manager that I wasn't fond of the service, and they had the audacity to bring the girl I complained over to me to tell me I complained against her. Totally making things awkward. Horrible snake of a manager. I cancelled my ticket through my credit card company, which made me feel better. I cannot stand American Airlines. UNPROFESSIONAL AT BEST. I will never give you another penny of mine. read more

Your cattle no matter the airline no matter the pandemic the fact that families like mine are separated because we can't pay the fees to sit together at the back of the plane. 11/27/22 we had a return trip from Orlando to Denver with a connection flight in Miami. In the Miami, the landing gate and departure gate were next to each other. In Orlando, we had a delay on the tarmac, not weather related. In Miami we also had a tarmac delay, not weather related, both cases pilots said weather was great. On Miami tarmac, having landed at 1840, we had the gate changed to E7 on the other side of airport. We told stewardess that we had connection flight as did several other passengers, she was short, only said she would make announcement. Nobody cared, disembarkment was chaotic like always, stewardess didn't care. We got to gate E7, even though people were still boarding they said our tickets were released. Even though when I check in at Orlando which checked me in with Miami I (I had a boarding pass to Miami flight) they released it. They sent me to rebooking and put my family in different seats and much later time. No meal vouchers, no real apologies. I wanted to talk to a manager. The lady at counter said she was a manger and refused to call. I told her I was not moving until I talk to manager. She threatened to call security and have me escorted, cancel my ticket and force me to buy a ticket with another airline. I was traumatized, threatened and felt blackmailed. I had no recourse, no one to complain to or with. I was helpless, vulnerable , I felt violated. She said delay was due to weather and weather is not in their control. I told her AA knew I was on flight, knew flight was running late, and knew when I landed prior to boarding of new plane. The dropped the ball, they didn't communicate nor take care of their passengers. I did what I could to hold back my tears. I will never fly American again. I'm still fighting for my refund of fair. The biggest issue is they kept passing the buck, blaming someone else, yet they claim they are each managers. It's transparently deceiving and manipulative . I'm afraid for the next time I have to fly, the thought gives me anxiety. I'm so mad at American Airlines, they ruined a lot for me. read more

I just spent the last 45 min trying to check in for my flight tomorrow. Their website would not load for several attemps. When it finally did I got confirmation for my boarding passes allegedly sent to my e-mail. well, they never showed up so I called the airline and was told my flight had been cancelled on the website. I explained what happened and was told they could sell me another ticket for $150. I told them I had just gotten confirmation saying my boarding pass was e-mailed to me but it hadn't come through.they repeated that it had been cancelled and they could give me a discounted ticket for $100. I told them it was the website that had caused the problem. I told them I just wanted to get my boarding pass and they insisted on charging me $100. I am a widow on a fixed income. I really could't afford that, but had to pay it anyway even though I had not cancelled the flight. I called them immediately after their site said my boarding pass had been sent to me but wasn't and they insisted on charging me $100. I will NEVER fly AA again and I caution everyone to not fly them. i would have liked to give them 0 stars but had to choose 1 star! read more

Horrible customer service and dirty plane. Frontier was a better experience and we all know how horrible they are.

We were very fortunate to get a good deal on flights to Hawaii, however given we have small children and an infant, we still had to board last. Not a big deal, but on 3 of the 4 flights the steward/stewardess were not very nice. In fact, my wife just needed to use a restroom at the very end of our flight after waiting for passengers to disembark and got yelled at that she needs to use the terminal restrooms. With 5 small children and an infant, I was shocked to get such a rude remark, even after all 5 of our kids were silent for all 4 flights!!! So disappointed in the customer service and lack of care by the flight attendants! read more

I use a manual wheelchair and travel solo. Multiple times a year I take one particular trip that involves every element of a disabled passenger's least favorite flight, including a connection through a busy major airport onto a small plane that is boarded from the tarmac. Ever since American Airlines took over USAir I have been amazed by the extra steps AA takes to make sure it's disabled customers have a trouble free experience. A representative always calls the day before the flight to go over the details of my specific situation to make sure everything goes smoothly. On a recent trip, the flight attendant discreetly (much appreciated) informed me how the crew would evacuate me in the event of an emergency. This was the first time any airline has demonstrated that they were consciously taking my safety and my specific situation into consideration. Thank you, American Airlines! 6/11/18 Here I am again on Flt473 Charlotte to Denver and the crew (Tyrone, Gary) introduced themselves and helped me pre-board. The US taxpayers bailed out the airline industry for 25 billion dollars in 2020, despite us keeping them afloat they still inept and lack any semblance of customer service. Absolutely the worst. Can not get passengers in control or seated. Stewards in sure of how to do emergency announcement No video available. Low cost Frontier is looking better all the time. Flight was delayed for no real reason. People no sitting in assigned seats. Absolutely tis sucks. Learn what costumer service is and how to control your passengers. Parents book your kids seats with your own. And take care of your own issues. Because of the poor performance by the flight crew I am thinking this flight needs to be reported to the FAA. During landing the woman gets up to pass a small child back to its mother. While the stewardesses watched. Ho fucking unsafe for the child and me.
