Actually I enjoyed taking United airlines to Kansas connecting via Chicago O Hare then coming back through Denver. Smooth and friendly service despite the turbulence. Gracious and welcoming staffs. The pilots are awesome despite all those winds they landed beautifully. Note: 5E on flight from Denver to Sacramento, UA1268. Thank you United airlines. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience flying with United Airlines coming from LAX to Denver airport. I also have a return flight to LAX and hope it doesn't get cancelled due or delay due to the coming storm. The United terminal here at Denver airport is big, I think it's one of their hub. It's also more updated because the Gate sign on the ceiling also shows the destination city on it. The plane was fine to me and the entertainment system seem to be upgraded because it supports Bluetooth so I was able to use my Samsung Galaxy buds earphone. The only issue I had was that it took forever to get my carry on bag at the carousel and I couldn't prepay for my checked bag in advance through the mobile app so I had to use a computer.

I used to flight United 2 decades ago for years...out of Seattle and they were wonderful. Denver team are nice and friendly. Since I only do carry on..can't say much on their new policy. Seats are definitely smaller (or I'm getting wider). Foods are okey, I tended to skip it most of the time. Only take it if sounds interesting. But for some reason for 4 flights from/to US to Euro, the flight attendants are lack of friendliness with fake smiles. But over all, not bad.

I'm generally sympathetic w United, but when you can't open the doors, it is time to use the emergency exit... 30 minutes waiting for someone to open the door is inexcusable

Layover between Ontario, California and Colorado Springs, Colorado in Denver... Even though the flight was at 5am and I had to be at the airport at 3am, I was alright. I got to my destinations on time; my luggage wasn't lost; and the personnel were courteous and efficient! My seats were assigned to me, and they were satisfactory. The flights were short enough to not need to use the restroom. The only downside was that I would be charged for a carry-on bag. I stuffed everything into my check-in luggage before I got to the airport. I still had to pay $40 for my check-in bag - which I paid online since United Airlines texted me a few times to check-in for the flight. I also received texts to update me on the gate change and that the flight was on time. Overall, it was an uneventful experience. I didn't get to select my seat, but I'm glad that the seats are assigned!

Denver is one or the United hubs and a fairly frequent stop and grudging layover for me. Who like connections anyway! The travel gods were kind to me on this trip and the flights were all on time. I find their service consistent and good.

Yesterday, April 4, 2026 I originally had a flight to Houston at 11:30AM. Houston was the layover to my final destination of Atlanta. At 10AM I was told that the first flight was delayed an hour which was going to cause me to miss the second flight. Myself and two other people approached the gate to resolve the issue and was told that the only option is a direct flight to Atlanta that doesn't leave until 10PM. I was immediately irritated because I had been there since 8AM and 10PM is a long time to wait. I respectfully asked if they could ask the flight in Houston to just hold off since we would be getting there late by 2 minutes. The very rude woman at the desk replied "if it was more of you but it's just 3 of you." So the three of us don't matter? Obviously what I'm asking can be done, but because it's 3 of us we don't have the option to try to make our flight that was inconvenienced because of your company! Truly disgusting. I was told my other option was to take the flight and "see if they can help you." While I understand that things happen out of employee's control, the attitude and the lack of empathy is what made the situation worse. However, that was not even the worst of it all. I sat in the airport a total of 12 hours just to get banned from boarding my flight. I came with a backpack that I always take with me, that fits under the seat, a personal item. I did not have a purse or anything else. The backpack was all I had, but being at the airport so long I had purchased a charger, water and food so I was carrying that plastic bag with my personal item as we were boarding. I was told to step aside to speak to someone about my bag. Not at the counter, or outside of the boarding area, I was standing at the entrance of the boarding area. After standing there several minutes and no one approached me I thought maybe she wasn't talking to me. After all, I have never had a problem with this bag. I start walking towards the ramp and a lady asked me to come back. I explained to her what I just explained to you and she said that my plastic bag of food counts as my personal item so I have to pay $99 for my backpack. I'm flustered because I fly allllll the time and everytime I'm in the airport I get water and snacks and take them with me. Not one person on 100s of trips have ever approached me about that bag! The lady already told me I had to pay, but continues to make me weigh it. As I'm weighing it, it now doesn't fit because I put the bag of snacks there. After she yelled for the 10th time "it's $99!" I said, fine, here is my card!! After I said that she says, "you're being loud and disrespectful so I'm not letting you on!" I never once raised my voice or was rude. She thought I didn't have any money and when I did she created another problem. I pleaded with her to let me on because I had been at the airport 12 hours and I needed to get home to my children! She wouldn't even look up from her phone. I pulled out my phone to text my babysitter that I might not be coming home and she goes "I was about to let you on but you're secretly recording me!" I picked up my phone IMMEDIATELY to show her my text thread and she continued to tell them to close the door.

True…read morethere is a charge for just about everything on top of the low price fare, but they are very up front about these costs in their website. On any third party booking app it is clear there is a charge for carry on bags. Given that this is unusual, it should prompt the consumer to investigate further and it is not the airlines fault if consumers do not choose to do this. My only complaints were that checked baggage has a 40 pound limit or it is an extra $60. I have traveled all over the world and am familiar with the 50 pound limit put on luggage going overseas. This charge on a domestic flight seems like a money grabbing scheme to me and seems unnecessary given that it is out of line with standard practice. There was no food offered on my 3 1/2 hour flight. I could only get over priced, unhealthy snacks. It seems reasonable to offer some small, healthy fare on most flights and I was disappointed that this was not an option. Also charging for basic beverage service should be outlawed on airlines in my opinion. Dehydration is a serious concern and people should not be denied water based on ability to pay. They are not the most communicative of airlines. They should definitely put some serious money into improving their website, especially for online check in which is needlessly confusing. Now on to the good stuff. For an additional $45 I was able to secure a roomy and comfortable seat close to the front of the plane, almost like flying business class for dirt cheap My flight included a long layover and both planes were clean and new. We were delayed on the tarmac for an hour and a half due to weather. In all my travels this is the only time I have been cool and comfortable during a lengthy tarmac delay. It made all the difference to not feel like you were being cooked alive in a tin can during a lengthy take off wait. The staff were all amazing. Everyone I came into contact with was friendly and professional. They went out of their way to help. They allowed me a free carry on when I opted to bring my checked bag down to 40 pounds to avoid the $60 surcharge. This turned a nasty surprise into a positive experience. Even with the additional seat fare and higher than average checked bag cost, I still paid less than half of what the average going fare was to my destination making this an overall positive experience. Would I recommend Spirit Air? Certainly, with the caveat to travel very light and stock up in food and beverage before boarding.

I understand stuff happens but come on.. everytime i fly in and out to Denver there's something. Since they changed their business model and became like the other main airlines...like no more free bags or open seating, their service has gone downhill. Almost every gate agent now asks for voluntary checked bags as they claim overhead bins are full. As I had a layover iMCO I was like ok I'll do it. I thought I was doing a good thing. I even asked the gate agent is there anything I need to do because I have a layover? No he says... it will meet you at BWI. The one time I dont put my apple tag is when they lose my luggage!! I arrive at BWI... it's 1 am. And everyone else got their bag except me.... They track my bag it's at MCO. My bag tag apparently fell off. The airport code tag fell off. Not cool. It took a day and a half to be reunited with my bag. However SW customer service agents over the phone were great. My bag was placed on the next flight out and they used like a courier company to deliver my bag to my house I did have the option to pick it u at the airport but it's too far. I 100% place blame on the baggage handlers at DEN. If you are voluntary doing a checked bag make sure you take pictures of your luggage, make sure the tags are secured and throw in an air tag. SW should limit the amount of carry-ons if they constantly need people to have their bag checked or lower their prices. SW did look out for me and issue a voucher for the inconvenience.

For decades, Southwest Airlines stood out as one of America's best-run airlines. Its success was…read morebuilt on a simple formula: low fares, friendly service, operational excellence, and a genuine focus on the customer. This strategy created remarkable loyalty and made Southwest one of the most admired and fun airlines in the industry. Today, the company appears to be moving in a very different direction. Following pressure from activist investors and changes in leadership with the CFO being promoted to the CEO, Southwest has embraced a more revenue-driven strategy focused on increasing shareholder returns. The introduction of checked-bag fees, paid seat selection, and other ancillary charges marks a significant departure from the business model that differentiated the airline for more than 50 years. Today, checking a bag can cost around $90 on some fares, and passengers often have to pay extra to secure a desirable seat. Without doing so, many will end up in a middle seat toward the back of the aircraft. I did on all my flights to SLC via Denver and Los Angeles. These initiatives may improve short-term cash flow and earnings, but they also risk weakening the customer loyalty that was once Southwest's greatest competitive advantage. In my case, i will avoid Southwest like the plague and i really fly a great deal. Over the past couple of years flights are systematically delayed, luggages are lost , agents at the gate have little authority to change things as the focus has shifted away from customers and operations. Profitability and shareholder value are essential goals for any public company. However, the strongest businesses create long-term shareholder value by first creating exceptional value for their customers. Time will tell whether Southwest's new strategy proves successful, but from a passenger's perspective, the airline has lost much of what once made it special.

The TSA precheck staff are very nice, and it doesn't take too long to clear security and board the train. We boarded as usual, all good. Sat on the tarmac for 45 minutes and were told that there was a mechanical issue and we'd need to deplane, the repair would take 1-2 hours. Most passengers had tight connections so we were told to line up and talk to gate agents about rebooking. Roughly half the passengers got in line. For the next 3 hours we had 2 gate agents to help over a hundred passengers. Their website wouldn't help us, the chat wouldn't help us, the phone wait time was over an hour. Mind you, the gate agents weren't given printer paper to print tickets so they had to literally run to other gates for each new ticket to print them. Their computers would randomly crash and delete all their progress so they were constantly switching from phones, to iPhones, to each others computers. It was a MESS! When it got to be our turn to rebook, we were given a 2:30 connection, great! Another hours of delay after this (yes, we are 4 hours into our 1-2 hour delay) we still hadn't received any follow up information, no updates, no emails. Nothing. We were all stuck at the gate because we didn't know when it would be time to leave. Oh but don't worry, they sent us a 12$ meal voucher, that may or may not work at food establishments around the airport. Yay! At 12:30, when we'd realized we'd be missing our new connection once again we got back in line to rebook once more. 30 minutes later of waiting, the co pilot comes out and announces they have no information, just keep waiting, and leaves. Wow, okay thank you sir! Another 20 minutes, there's finally only 4 people ahead of us to book, yay! The pilot comes out, we're boarding now! Everyone get on. So finally another gate agent appears. Where were you when these guys could've desperately used your help? Some people asked her, she was so aggressively rude and made it OUR fault. She wouldn't help, answer questions or assist any of the gate agents. Most of us had now missed our rebooked connections and had NO way of rebooking. Again, no website help, no chat bot help, no phone help. Now we couldn't talk to the agents either because we had to board right then. When it was our turn to board I asked what we should do ar our next airport so we could get home. "Go on the website on your flight, they will give you WiFi". When we boarded I asked the flight attendant if this would be possible. No, it wasn't possible. Talk to the gate agent after your flight. So currently, we have no way home. Ok. We are all seated now, waiting to fly out. We sit on the tarmac for another 30 minutes before we FINALLY leave. While in air, there's an announcement "for all the delays today all passengers above 21 will receive 1 free cocktail! This is all our company will be providing. We will come by shortly". What a weird thing to say after 6 hours of delays? Instead of making it a nice, hey we're sorry. It's yet another screw you. We land, deplane. Go to the gate agent for help rebooking. She can't help us. She tells us we'd need to fully leave the airport, come back and rebook a new ticket. Uh, what? Ok, since we had a connection previously, can you tell us where to find our bags? No, that's not her job..... Wow. So we go to baggage claim because, I'm not sure where to start but this seems like a good bet. Our bags never arrive. 30 minutes after waiting I go to Alaska baggage. At this point my sister is ready to burn them down and I'm trying really hard to keep my cool. I tell her with tears brimming that we have no way home, no bags, and we just need someone to please help us and tell us how we can get home. She is the one and ONLY employee who actually sees us and takes it upon herself to help. How odd a bag agent can rebook our flight in 3 minutes but we're not 9 hours into our day and no one else could? She was so nice, helpful, understanding. She put in a request for our bags, but couldn't tell us if they'd even made it to the city (they had unloaded all baggage when the repairs were happening because a lot of people just booked new flights). She said to wait 30 minutes for them to find our bags but we couldn't leave the carousel because they'd be coming from there. Also, we had just over 1 hour to get back through tsa before we missed our new flight. While waiting, we pull up our new itinerary and we get an error code. We had no flight home still. The link didn't work. The confirmation code only showed our previous flight that day. An hour goes back, she'd gone on lunch, still no bag. We go back up. The new lady once again, didn't want to help us. She told us to just go sit back down and wait. I'm sorry, are you kidding? Thankfully, our original lady had just come back right then from lunch by some damn miracle. She helped us again, got our tickets. Still didn't know where our bags were but assured us she'd get them home with us

Our first experience with BA wasn't great. For one thing, the legroom and space of their economy…read moreseat on an international flight was surprisingly small! It's about 1/3 smaller than the US economy seat. If you are claustrophobic, don't do the basic economy! The flight attendant in our section was useless. He just stood there and watch while we were struggling with placing our luggage in the very high overhead bin. Someone passed out on the floor during our 9 hours flight and it took a while for the flight attendant to get back to his area of responsibility and he didn't seem to know what to do. This maybe the last time flying on BA for us.

I travel quite a bit and recently had a trip to London for work. My return flight was booked on…read moreAmerican but somehow was serviced by British Airways. I arrived at Heathrow hours early as I shared a cab with a coworker and his flight was much earlier. I could not check in on the app or on the website in the day prior, so I stood in line for close to an hour at the American window where they told me I was actually flying BA (my travel record showed American) and I needed to go to another terminal. I got to that terminal and tried to get in line to check in but BA employee said I needed to use the kiosk. I explained I was unable to check in on apps or online and needed an agent. They insisted I try the kiosk first. Unsurprisingly.. it didn't work. I was allowed to get in the check in line with an agent where I stood for the next almost 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours standing on a concrete floor. My back was screaming (old people problems, I know). I finally got up to an agent who said I wasn't able to check in because I needed to show my visa. I pulled up my British electronic visa and she said "no love, your American visa".. while holding my American passport in her hand. I explained I don't need a visa because I am an American returning to my home country. She looked confused but decided she needed to call someone to help. I stood while she was on hold and transferred around to different places who eventually told her it was an issue in the system today and they would remove the error. She then told me I had no seat on the flight because it was oversold and they couldn't guarantee I would get on, so they may have to book my on the next flight which was the next day or would need to look at another airline for me. She gave me a boarding pass that was or standby and said to hurry to the gate to try and get a seat. I got in the security line and about 15 minutes later, I was up.. I scanned my boarding pass and it errored out, not letting me through. An employee told me I had to get in a different line to see what was wrong with my boarding pass. I stood in anther line for a good 40 minutes. Once I got help, they told me I couldn't get through because I don't have a seat and would have to fly standby. I explained, yes.. that's why I have a standby boarding pass. It says standby on it. She said it wasn't standby in the system and it needed to be fixed, so she had to call someone to assist. Another 15 minutes later and they couldn't get it to work and I was going to miss the flight, she said she would take me through a different security line so I could get to the gate. She did that and I had to take a train to get to the gate, which wasn't working for about 5 minutes because it was having a "security sweep" with officers and dogs going through it. I finally got on the train, got off at the right place, ran all the way to the gate as they were boarding. Asked if they had a seat for me, and they huffily said they did but I almost didn't because I waited so long to get to the gate. Are you kidding me? I got on the plane and will be happy to never fly British Airlines again. I guess all the great luck I've had traveling was made up for on this trip. Just terrible.
