I asked to speak to the manager and was told there wasn't one. I was visiting Bricks Pub when my car was towed without justification. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, the credit card machine wasn't working, so I was forced to use their ATM which charged me an additional $8.50 fee on top of the already inflated tow cost. They were in violation of their own posted policy sign which states, "VEHICLE STORAGE FACILITY MUST ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CASH, CREDIT CARD, AND DEBIT CARD FOR ANY FEE OR CHARGE ASSOCIATED WITH DELIVERY OR STORAGE OF A VEHICLE." To make matters worse, they kept 53 cents of my change instead of returning it. When I got back to my car, my vehicle detected a collision alert, suggesting it was hit or mishandled while in their possession. There was zero accountability or concern from their staff. Between the sketchy payment setup, lack of transparency, improper towing practices, and possible damage to my car, this company should be investigated. I would never recommend ATX Towing to anyone. I will be reporting them to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

AAA failed miserably and couldn't get anyone to come pick it up. After 7 hours of waiting I had to cancel. Called AAA again on Tuesday at 6:30AM. Finally found out that one company refused the tow and AAA contacted S&R Towing. I called S&R and they confirmed they were coming to pick up the car. They were quick, professional and saved the day. While they paid for all of the charges, I still had to manage a way to get my car back / go down to Reliant Towing to retrieve my vehicle. The staff at Reliant were able to arrange with my apartment complex all of the invoicing, as well as a driver to bring my car back - (Albert) who went above and beyond to ensure that my specialty import car was taken care of and handled with care and patience.

Not only did they fail to verify that residents were given proper statutory notice, but they also completely violated Austin City Code Section 13-6-6 by failing to report the tow to the local police or 311 dispatch within the mandatory 45-minute window. When I called Austin 311 to track down my missing vehicles, the city had absolutely zero record of the tow because Reliant never reported it. To make matters worse, instead of taking my vehicles to a licensed Vehicle Storage Facility as required by Texas state law, they illegally relocated them to an completely unauthorized property down the street and left me entirely in the dark. An official complaint has been filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for these severe compliance violations. If you are a property manager looking for a reputable contractor, stay far away from this company unless you want massive legal liabilities. If you are a consumer who has been towed by them, call 311 immediately to check if they actually reported it--because chances are, they didn't.
