U-HAUL RELATED REVIEW i reserved a u-haul truck to be picked up at this location at 7am on a saturday. this was the location the u-haul rep said was available, we were leery but we went with it. show up at 7am (towing place says they open at 6am) and no one was there. called their number, was supposed to be transferred but got hung up on. called u-haul to inquire about the reservation (45 minutes in at this point) and they said the dealer at A-Tex Towing did not set up the u-haul to be used. u-haul tried calling the dealer & no answer. had to get the $50 for the no truck available but we also wasted valuable moving time and had to find another truck to rent. long story short, do not set up your u-haul pickup from this place- especially on the weekend. read more

On April 13th - My wife was driving with me and our 7 month old and 3 year old daughters in the car heading North on Mopac by the Captial of TX Highway Exit when an A-Tex Towing Flat Bed Tow Truck with no cars on the flatbed was throwing rocks/stones/gravel off of the bed. Several rocks and stones hit our car as we were 60-75 yards behind the tow truck going 65 mph and cracked and shattered our windshield. Glass came inside our car as well. Luckily we were able to stay in our lane and didn't cause an accident while rocks/stones continued to be thrown off of the A Tex Tow Truck. I called the number on the back of their tow truck and they proceeded to tell me that no truck was in the area and I was exaggerating. Completely unacceptable to have rocks on the truck without a care in the world and to disregard what could have been an awful accident or worse. On Feb 2, 2024 my daughters car died on a side street. She noticed 6 police officers across the street and asked them for some help pushing her car into a parking spot as none of them had jumper cables. It was raining and her windows were open, but the car wouldn't start. She needed a jump. I'm completely in shock and disturbed that the 6 Austin police officers who "helped" her actually did her dirty by instead calling A-Tex to have them tow her car to them! Not to jump it but for them to then take over in taking advantage of this young girl. Those Austin police officers, unbeknownst to my daughter, had her car impounded!!! Why?? She just asked them for some help!! This is why young people don't trust police!! There was nothing else wrong enough for the police to take it upon themselves to conspire to send her down a rabbit hole they created. A-Tex had her car for only 1 day, but was verbally abusive by Yesica. She had no compassion for the actual facts of the towing. The police had no right towing it in the first place but my daughter trusted them and felt her car was safe for the day. A-Tex claims to be reputable and will jump a car if need be. NOPE they didn't even offer!! Instead they took the car as apparently this is the only way they can earn money by taking advantage of unsuspecting naive people. A-Tex is a company who only earns their money by ripping customers off... being rude and mean in addition!! They were hoping my daughter wouldn't be able to get her car by their end of day at 5 so they could charge her for another whole day! $300!!! Yesica gave my daughter and myself 3 different amounts that it would cost for the one day. They just pull different amounts out of their unprofessional butts while the car just sits there all day. i called atex at 9.am last Wednesday , to have a car towed 11 miles , from one shop to another both shops had easy access and easy drop-off , they towed the car about 9.45 am , that's about when traffic is the lightest. and charged me 225.00 dollars to go 11 miles . i am in the auto repair industry and i made the mistake of not asking a price , i figured they would be fair , boy was i wrong . the national average from jd power is 7.00 dollars a mile . they charged me the same price of a apd tow , actually they charge more for the tow , apd is 175 towing (within city of austin ) plus 25 storage and 25 certification letter. i have different options of what tow companies i use and recommend and atex will never be one of them again , read more

Then they charged me extra cause they said I didn't tell them it was a bigger truck. This place was incredible! I needed to access my vehicle on a Saturday after hours, when I called in the lady said she would see if she could get somebody to the office for me. I was already astonished, but things only got even better when I'm at Tito!!! First of all, I had my pup with me, whom he was so friendly to and accommodating of, he then open the office and got everything process super quickly and easily. To top it all off, I showed up with a tire, off the rim, to replace the one that had blown out the night before, assuming I would have to make an entirely separate trip to get it put on a rim, but not on Tito's watch! He assured me I could come pick up the Jeep what at any time that was convenient for me, and the tire would be on. Did I mention all of this was the Saturday before Easter? I didn't even realize until the day of, when I texted him I'll let him know that I probably be picking it up Monday. He responded Palm please let me know that was fine as well. I agree with Tyler, the woman who answers the phone is horrible. She could not even tell me where my car was. She just pointed randomly and said "its right there" she did not tell me there was a second lot, nor the fact that the lot had slippery ice all over the place. She had no empathy at all, my car had been totaled and I was trying to empty it out. I asked her to please just be kind and she said "well I don't know what you went through" Exactly!!!
