So, blow tire, side of the road, called, talked to a woman, @ 12:30pm gave her all the info, started getting texts, update, 35-40 minutes, it's nearly 2:30, called to see what the hold up is, they didn't have any record of the call. After me getting upset, she found my number and who was texting me, well, didn't give the " tech" very good info, SO, we are starting over. I'm having a crappy Monday morning.. Clutch mysteriously went out in truck and after limping it into work, Chote's was recommended to me by the repair shop I found. First off, dispatcher was super kind and patient. I was juggling two calls simultaneously, and the other one had me on hold for 20 minutes before magically picking while I was on phone with Chotes. I would not have blamed the dispatched if they just hung up on me, but they didn't. The dispatcher made sure I had all the information I needed before making a decision, wasn't high pressure, and listened to me babble about where my vehicles was parked within the lot. Zack, the tow truck driver, showed up shortly afterwards and was also very kind. I watched up load my truck up and despite it being an old beater truck. He was very detailed oriented, and took care to ensure my truck got on the flatbed safely, without rushing. Great tow company to work with. When I was broke down the shop recommended this service. When I called, Joe said he could do it but would be a couple hours (he was stuck down South). He said he would call around and find someone to help. Thirty minutes later another tow driver showed up (Zack) and was able to get me to the shop quickly. I rode with Zack. Today was my first tow truck experience. I called, a nice lady named Carmen answered and patiently took down source and destination addresses. Her husband Greg also works there so it seems like a nice family business. A tow truck came pretty fast; there is a warning call about five minutes before it arrives. It was quite fun and educational. Dave was nice about letting me take photos, answering questions, and letting customers ride with them. The task was done patiently, calmly, and smoothly under the hot July sun. Dave was friendly, thorough, organized, and skilled at maneuvering large vehicles through narrow spaces. I used to have this impression that tow truck drivers like to extort customers but left with a favorable impression after seeing how much care, time, and patience is required when moving cars. The price actually seemed fair after that even though it's still a lot compared to general things. I would call Chote's Wrecker Service again. They take cash, checks, credit cards, etc... which was awesome since I only had $11 in cash and none of my ATM cards would work that afternoon. read more

I've been towed a couple of times by these guys and the rest of my family has as well. They are a 24 hour service which is a lifesaver. The last time I needed a tow, the guy fought traffic all the way up to Round Rock to come get me and even though he was in a hurry to get to a call that needed clearing up on the highway, he was still patient and careful with my car. He asked me what was wrong with it when he arrived, not in a "you stupid woman driver" way but just to make sure there was nothing to impede his ability to haul it up onto the back of his truck (it was a radiator that I had busted wide open so it was entirely my fault). He knew exactly where the garage was that I wanted it taken to when I described the place even though I was worried he wouldn't know where it was since I didn't know the address off the top of my head. I also like the fact the couple of times they've towed me they used a truck that loads the car entirely up on the bed so it rides along sitting in place instead of being dragged backwards with the front wheels on the ground. It probably doesn't make much difference whether its dragged or carried but being carried up on the bed just looks like a much more comfortable position for a car to ride along in. I keep them on speed dial and definitely recommend them as the first people to call when you need towing. I don't know what a standard rate for a tow is but $60 seemed reasonable to me perhaps mainly because I was so grateful to them for fighting rush hour traffic to come to the rescue. read more

I called at about 10:15 am and asked if they could pick up my partner's car by 11:30 am to take to Round Rock Toyota. The tow truck driver was professional and curteous and quick in getting the car hooked up. He left at about 1:15 pm. Was charged $85.00 for the tow from Parmer & Metric area to Round Rock Toyota, which I thought was reasonable. Overall I would use this company again. read more
