I Ubered to a nearby coffee shop for a few hours while he worked. 24 hours later, there are no problems at all, as expected. Do yourself a favor, ditch the auto shops with their high overhead costs and go with an old pro that's doing quality work. Plus he takes Venmo!

TLDR: Ed was responsive, arrived near his predicted time, replaced my brake pads quickly and was…read morehappy to answer my questions - all at a great price! I heard a scraping noise when braking. After some research, I determined the brake pads likely needed replacing. I called around the major chains and they wanted to charge me at least a couple hundred bucks. I was scared the rotors might need replacing (or that the shop might bully me into it) which they told me would cost several hundred extra dollars. I was readying myself for a $200 or even $500 bill! Then I found Ed on Yelp; his site listed MUCH better prices so I thought it'd be worth a try. Despite the fact that he's running around town working hard on people's cars, he still managed to respond within a few hours to my first text and typically within a matter of minutes to the subsequent ones. When I had some last minute issues with work, he politely discussed alternate times with me. Ultimately, he showed up within 30 min of the time he suggested and completed the brake pad replacement in only 30 minutes. He looked at the rotors with me and explained why he didn't think they needed replacing yet and what to watch out for later. The big chains always try to get me to replace my cabin air filter and things like that, but no pressure from Ed - just a great job. He was kind, positive, and seemed happy to answer my questions. I've never had a better experience getting work done on my car. I almost can't wait for the next issue so I can give him more of my business! :) Sincerely, 2007 Toyota Corolla Owner

What I thought was going to be a harsh diagnosis and a dreaded trip to the impound, Jack (shout out to the chillest and most friendly mechanic I've had the please of interacting with to date) quickly determined that the battery itself was the primary concern, and is in the process of ordering a new one that will keep my car running just the right amount of time needed to complete my moving out objectives. I genuinely had prepared myself for spending $300+ just to determine that the car was worthless overall, instead I've been ecstatically informed that it has new life and can be sold at a reasonable value on the market. Even if they had genuinely informed me that the car was indeed out of commission, I would trust their word more so than many a family members these days, that is how honest and forthright Steve's Mobile Auto Care is as a whole. The entire experience, from my initial text to this unexpected positive turn of events, has been other worldly as far as auto mechanics go. There haven't been any "diagnostic fees" accompanied by terminology and long winded explanations that only a veteran mechanic would understand. No 3-4 page "invoices" that detail how horrifically I've been treating my car, and guilt inducing "well if only you had" monologues implying I'm the worst car owner they've ever come across. Just straight forward, easy going and trustworthy communication, incredibly relaxed scheduling process, and the wholesome feeling that I haven't been taken for a ride (not the good kind) and endured a significant hit to my wallet. I can walk away from this experience still standing, or better yet, driving away knowing that all is well under the hood and that my budget hasn't been entirely wrecked this month. What a company, what a crew, what a breath of fresh air in a world that constantly seems to undermine your genuine efforts as a car owner. A million stars all around.

After some research I decided to contact Steve's Mobile Repair and I could not be happier with the outcome. I mean bad. Jack managed to change the mounts in our driveway with just a floor jack to lift the engine. Jack knows what he is doing and does everything fast. Pretty amazing actually. He's professional and knowledgeable with an admirable work ethic. Needless to say, I was very happy with Steve's Mobile Repair and I'm certain I will use Steve's again. I highly recommend them.
