If I could give zero stars I would, what a shady establishment. My experience with ATX Towing was outrageous and completely unacceptable. Their staff is inconsiderate and unreasonable. I asked to speak to the manager and was told there wasn't one. I was visiting Bricks Pub when my car was towed without justification. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, the credit card machine wasn't working, so I was forced to use their ATM which charged me an additional $8.50 fee on top of the already inflated tow cost. They were in violation of their own posted policy sign which states, "VEHICLE STORAGE FACILITY MUST ACCEPT PAYMENT BY CASH, CREDIT CARD, AND DEBIT CARD FOR ANY FEE OR CHARGE ASSOCIATED WITH DELIVERY OR STORAGE OF A VEHICLE." To make matters worse, they kept 53 cents of my change instead of returning it. When I got back to my car, my vehicle detected a collision alert, suggesting it was hit or mishandled while in their possession. There was zero accountability or concern from their staff. Between the sketchy payment setup, lack of transparency, improper towing practices, and possible damage to my car, this company should be investigated. I would never recommend ATX Towing to anyone. I will be reporting them to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. read more

DO NOT LET THEM KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS. Retrieved my vehicle from this facility and attempted to pay with a debit card. Staff informed me that I would be charged an additional fee for using my debit card and required me to sign paperwork agreeing to the fee before they would release my vehicle. Because I did not want to pay the added charge, I was directed to use the on-site ATM and pay cash instead. My understanding is that Texas vehicle storage facilities are regulated by the TDLR and must comply with state rules regarding vehicle release procedures and payment practices. Texas law also restricts surcharges on debit card transactions under Texas Business & Commerce Code § 604A.002. I encourage anyone retrieving a vehicle here to ask for an itemized receipt, review all paperwork carefully, and document any additional payment-related fees before paying.I will be reporting this establishment to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. One they are very rude over the phone and in person. Lady in the front was laughing at me since I wanted to use credit card instead of cash. They towed my vehicle even though I got approved to park there by the business. They even damaged my vehicle and left marks, they say they aren't responsible for the damages. Then when I went to go pick it up the idiot azzzzzz female at the window claimed since I wasn't a registered guess that's the reason they took it. But I have been there before with no issue. Plus according to the leasing office they DO NOT start towing until after 10pm. So explain this! I know towing companies do their job, but try doing it right. My car was towed when it shouldn't have been. It's been the same information for the past 2 or so years and they towed me stating my apt. complex removed my vehicle from their system. I was parked in a lot with limited signage indicating that it was a tow away zone. Turns out this is how ATX Towing makes the majority of their profit. My car alarm went off 5 minutes after I walked away and I run to the lot to see an ATX tow truck speeding away with it hooked up. When I went to the tow yard, it was clear this was their scheme, as the tow truck was going back and forth between the same lot and tow yard as fast as he could. When it came time to pay for the towing fees, they wouldn't accept my card since the car is registered under my girlfriends name, even though I am insured on that vehicle. This fiasco almost led us to having to pay overnight fees, since they won't let people get their car after 8pm (but have no problem towing 24/7). For some reason they claimed cash was preferred to my credit card, so we had to run to an atm, accrue a fee, and run back to get the car. These people run a shady business scheme, and it's clear they don't care. Support a tow company with more integrity. read more

I work for different apartment complexes in the Austin and this company is absolutely ruthless. They do illegal towing manifest lies constantly They change permits in the system to reflect no permits. They lie constantly without any recourse. I witnessed firsthand James one of Daniel's tow truck drivers damage two vehicles from the apartment complex I worked for. Daniel towed cars from the complex that I worked for that had legitimate permits, and they would not give these people a refund after they had been towed with permits. I have put a call out to TDLR and I pray this company gets shut down until they learn how to follow the Texas rules and guidelines by law in the state of Texas. ATX towing cannot make up your own rules and do whatever you want because you're a scandalous company. Excellent service! I worked with Daniel on the details and Josh did the towing. Both gentlemen were very professional and personable. The fee was reasonable and my insurance was able to reimburse me. I also want to point out that they offer a service unique to most other local companies in that they can provide lower clearance towing. My car needed to be towed out of a parking garage with an 8'2" clearance. NO ONE connected to my insurance has that equipment. And for just reason ATX Towing was a diamond in the rough. I want to be clear that negative reviews you might read here are pretty unbalanced. There's often an unfair adversarial nature with tow truck drivers because so often people reviewing them got towed unexpectedly and/or the situation they found themselves in was inherently stressful. I called back after 40mins of hearing nothing and was told they were finishing up with another customer and about to head out. Waited another 40mins before just locking up my car and walking the 30mins home. First called at 11PM and got home at 1AM, never heard from them at all. Left me me waiting late at night when they could have just said they were too busy and I could have called another company. Horrible service. After getting an Uber to the second location and finally speaking to someone, we paid the damn near $300 to get our car after it has been there for 49 minutes, and when trying to leave, no one opened the gate for us so we had to aimlessly drive around trying to find another exit before going to the front and having to ASK them to open the gate after we had already just paid and therefore it should have been an expected exit. They were Incredibly rude when I had to go pick up my car. I did not see the no parking sign where I was towed from. The lot had tons of open spots and the businesses were mostly closed since it was evening. A total money grab operation. These people have no soul. It was also very hard to find the impound lot as there is no sign!!! Just a "body shop" sign. I had to walk down a dark alley alone as they would only let one person back at a time. Just very angry people doing a horrible job. I hope they find more fulfilling, less angry work to do. Do NOT use these guys... they admitted watching me get out of my vehicle at the gym and towed it within minutes. My gym allows overnight parking for members and I haven't had any issues prior. These guys obviously need to manage their operations better and make an honest living helping the community instead of nabbing cars in large lots where they know they can make a quick buck. The gym headquarters said the tow company needed to give them a call to refund my tow bill but the guy was a complete asshole from the start, said he's not calling anyone and constantly speaking over me. My car's battery died on January 21, the coldest night of the month and I called several towing companies, none of them picked up accept ATX. Back story, 3 weeks prior I had problems starting my car; took it to the dealer and was told everything was fine with battery. Fast forward to 1/21 and I'm stranded in Austin. When I got there to get my car out, the driver michael montoya said the craziest things I've ever heard directed towards me in my life. From racial comments to commenting to my physical appearance, no human being in their right mind would act the way he did. Not that it's any surprise at all, but the staff member we encountered was incredibly rude and condescending. My brother's car was towed from a public parking lot after someone took video of him walking me and a girlfriend across the street to Armadillo Den. He came back to workout at Planet Fitness, finished his workout, was coming to pick us up, and his car was gone. That's right- they have someone literally videoing you getting out of your vehicle. If that isn't bad enough. We had to wait for the tow driver to meet us at the lot to retrieve our vehicle. My brother was told over the phone that they take cash or credit (with a 5% fee) but, if paying cash, we would need to pay the exact amount because he didn't have change. Upon arrival, I asked that he make sure to provide all information that we have a right to and he told me that I would need to stay outside of the gate and inside the car because he "didn't want to deal with me". How courteous. He then walked my brother though the gate and towards the little office behind the body shop. Keep in mind, it's 1130pm and pitch black. I followed and the guy once again told me I wasn't allowed back behind the gate. So, you're telling me, If you were to tow a female's vehicle that you would be walking her back towards a sketchy building ALONE in the dark of night? Get real. This business is outrageous.
