Unfortunately I had a tire pop on my car yesterday and after calling triple A, Armada towing was assigned to help us out. Their tech Joseph did an excellent job in helping us out. He was friendly, professional, arrived relatively quickly and changed the car tire faster than I've ever seen done before. I called AAA for a tow from my home to the mechanic. AAA gave me an ETA of 59 minutes, the dispatcher from Armada called and told me that my tow truck was about 10 minutes away. My driver called immediately as I was finishing speaking with the dispatcher and said he was on his way. I think it was actually 9 minutes! Very prompt, very polite, texted a photo of the vehicle after it had been dropped off at the shop to let me know it was delivered safely at the mechanics. I have no complaints! It's never fun to need a tow, but these good people made it as painless as possible. read more

AAA called Armada Towing for my service request in Austin, TX. AAA needs to investigate and possibly drop Armada Towing since this was The Worst experience I've ever had in the whole USA. (1) Tow truck was not maintained. A. Poor driver tried reattaching loose wires on their air compressor as we watched sparks fly! When I said it was lucky they gave him rubber gloves, he told me Armada Towing did not provide them! B. Then a giant oil spill was left behind on our residential street from underneath his tow truck! He had not been able to service our car (see loose wires situation above) so AAA called a different tow truck. However... C. Armada Towing dispatcher canceled the 2nd tow truck with a LIE that I had been rude to driver #1. Wow. I had been very empathetic to driver #1 and told him repeatedly that the loose wires was not his fault and that I'd be calling AAA to complain that Armada Towing sent out an unprofessional truck. Imagine almost being killed in a car accident, and then the tow truck driver shows up and tells you, "he just wants to get paid." And tells you a ladder, and a storage bin with some tools in it, makes your truck a liability. And laughs at you when he convinces his boss to not help you. Worst service, worst attitude, And seemed to be happy he made someone's day worse. And then said, "if you pay me $475, then I'll tow you" They are a predatory towing company. And AAA couldn't even believe how mistreated I was. Then AAA sent Wimberley towing to help, and they couldn't believe how badly I was mistreated by Armada towing. I got a flat tire tonight on my way home from work. Called AAA and they told me someone would be out within the hour. Within about 5 minutes received a call from Armada towing that he was on his way and would be there in 20. David showed up just when he said he would and first thing he asked was if I was okay. Probably saw the tears in my eyes after the icing of a stressful day. But he was the nicest human to me in that moment. Asked me about my dogs and diverted my mind and calmed me down. Changed the tire out for me and replaced it with the spare. I was the last run of the day and he could have rushed through it or been frustrated on the last call but he was the complete opposite. Wow... what a disappointment this whole adventure with Armada was!! I specifically requested a flatbed for my tow of my SUV with a flat rear tire. All texts and communication, from both AAA and Armada, confirmed a flatbed would be dispatched to my location. Communication from their drivers was horrid! The first one I spoke to tried really hard not to come, insisting that I could put the donut on my car and it would be fine. When he did show up, he basically had a hissy fit when I told him he would not be taking my car as he did not have a flatbed for the tow. (And yes, I have witnesses to an adult male being told no by me and acting like a small child that has been told no). Highly unprofessional. He had a wheel lift tow truck.... which was not what was specifically requested. As he stormed off to his rig, he shouted over his shoulder that he would call the main office for me. I knew there was no way he actually would follow through. But I choose to think the best of him and allowed time for a call to be placed to dispatch before calling to follow up myself. I reached a woman, who has been referenced in other reviews as 'Miss Rude.' While she never said her name, I'm sure its the same woman as she promptly hung up on me. So I called back, which was my mistake. I should have cancelled from there. When I got through to Miss Rude again, I was assured the driver of a flatbed would be calling me soon. No call was ever received. I called in to AAA to see if they could help. They reached out and were told a driver would be calling 'now.' But no call ever came. I ended up calling my car dealership and asking who they recommended. They recommended Harper Towing. Harper arrived to my car in 20 minutes. I will NEVER be using Armada towing again and suggest you don't either. Harper Towing was professional courteous, as well as extremely timely! And they came in $50 cheaper than Armada. I would recommend Harper to anyone and advise all to steer clear of Armada, if you actually value your time or your vehicle. read more

My interaction was that of the tow truck driving down the center lane South on Congress and he was trying to get in going south and I was in the center lane with my signal on turning left and he just kept coming at me not paying attention and not stopping using the center lane properly to get in and wait till the traffic died down to get in but he kept going down center Lane and almost hit me head on,my lights and signals were on. he was not paying attention and had the audacity to honk at me as he still came in from hitting me to get into the lane. I'm stopped. I've been stopped wailing on my horn for him to stop so he wouldn't hit me and still honked at me whenever he finally did make it in. I did call the towing company to complain. they said they would figure out who it was but they never called back or anything so this is my preach. they need to hire better drivers or ones with that. don't have attitudes on the road because my life and my significant other's life could have been gone and we have three kids at home. read more

James deserves some kind of medal of merit. I had a terrifying experience on E. Highway 290. I had just had an oil change at Lube Pitstop (not such a good review to come!) and was driving home. Suddenly I got an emergency warning notice on the dashboard and it felt as if there had been a blow out. I was going 65 and the car lurched and began to wobble. I was able to slow down and get off the highway at Springdale Road, under 290. AAA is always reliable and Armada is one of its emergency towing companies. Within ten minutes, James arrived. He took the tire off the car but as he pumped air into it he noticed that nothing seemed wrong with the tire. Looking more closely at the air valve, he saw that the valve itself had been almost wrenched off. This allowed the air in the tire to escape almost as quickly as a blow out. He looked at the other tires and three of the four had the same problem; they just hadn't lost all their air yet. He was able to fix the valve, and the other two broken ones as well, before replacing the tire and sending me on my merry way. This could have been a fatal accident and no one would think to look at the pressure valves of a tire after a check. He had the quick wit to do so and fix the problem right there. Outstanding service and quality of care. I cannot praise Armada or James enough. And value? It was all covered by my AAA membership! read more

Today was no exception. Abukleib was the technician they sent. He arrived within 25 minutes of my call. He was able to put a spare on my car after a tire blowout. My car broke down near a very small parking lot. I went through at least 4 towing companies via my insurance that told me they could not tow my vehicle because of limited space/lack of smaller trucks available. These guys worked with me and went above and beyond and were able to get my vehicle back to my driveway in a little over an hour. Would absolutely recommend. read more

They were the 1st on the scene. Apparently, they have an agreement with the Police Dept. Also apparently they think they can do whatever they want as a result... I crashed into a wall during a rainy spell. ATX-VIP towed my wrecked vehicle to their yard.... Wait for it.... Almost an HOUR AWAY. Were there towing services closer? Absolutely. No, no... let's not be logical at all about who tows the car and to where. *I knew NONE of this at the time.* The customer service is (2) pronged. 1) After hours and 2) during business hours. We'll address regular hours first. Undoubtedly the customer service is good. I found that out when I went to go retrieve my broken vehicle (2) days after. Kind, cordial, respectful. A little slow.... But nice. Now, let's talk about after hours service. The day after my accident, I actually DROVE to the tow yard expecting to get my personal belongings out of the car so that nothing of value would be ruined. After I arrived there were clear signs that customers were to give them an hour to arrive onsite to give access to the vehicles. Also the codes and statutes were on display. This was a Sunday, first thing in the morning. Their sign actually has office hours listed. Starting at 8:00am on Sundays. I waited in the drive until exactly 8:00am and then I dialed their number. A gentlemen named Saif (Sah-Eef) answered the phone. He proceeded to be completely not helpful even to the point of demanding that I come back tomorrow...A full 24 hours later. The law says we have to give THE TOW YARD one hour. Max! He cared not. Sounded like I woke him up or something. He was irritated with me it seemed. I immediately called another tow company and made arrangements for them to come get my car. There was no way on Gods earth that I was going to bankroll this lazy guys' weekend party sprees for NOT doing his job. If "Saif" would be that loose with his hours and responsibility then he probably would be loose as well with his pricing....And paperwork....Etc. Afterward, when I spoke to another person who is a professional in this industry they told me I could have gotten total reimbursing small claims court and 3x costs. I decided not to do that to them. I had more important things to do than to chase them into court. Also, Saif was the responsible party to my displeasure with the company. Everyone else did a spectacular job. He left to go clear across Austin to get the tools "the previous driver forgot." Likely not this driver's fault as he seems super nice, but this company is a complete shit show if they're sending drivers out to change a tire without the correct tools for the job. Couldn't be more pissed at Armada's fuck up tonight as I sit in my car at 2am for an hour longer than I needed to. read more

I don't know what it is with me and cars but I do seem to need their services every now and then. The last time was my car battery went dead on a Sunday afternoon in a parking lot during a pandemic with not a lot of people. Called several towing service but all were at least 2 hrs away. Armada came within 30-40 minutes, was able to jump my battery with their portable battery. This time, my tire was flat. We tried changing it unfortunately we made the mistake of doing this in an incline, our jack ended up not being able to prop my car high enough. If AAA is sending these guys out, beware the possibility winning the bad apple lottery. Honestly, this is one of the most upsetting customer experiences I've had. AAA dispatched a tow truck and the driver (Patrick C...not sure if this was his name or not, but gonna run with it) called 30 min out. After I described the vehicle's issue (sagging rear suspension, basically) Patrick informed me they're not liable for "suspension damage" during his pre-arrival phone call and that I'd have to sign a waiver. I guess he was anticipating the possibility of dragging my bumper (though he didn't exactly phrase it this eloquently). (Unrelated side note) After Patrick arrived, while we were introducing ourselves, I asked if he wanted me to wear a mask and he replied that 1) he didn't care and 2) I better not ask him to put one on himself. In any case, after arriving and starting to winch my vehicle, the rear bumper started to get close to the pavement and I started yelling "stop" to preempt damage. Patrick either 1) didn't hear or 2) didn't like my attempt to alert him to this issue and ended up lightly dragging my right rear exhaust on the pavement (nothing major, probably, but his nonchalance about causing unnecessary damage to my car was infuriating). When I pointed out the issue when it occurred, Patrick essentially "rage quit" the job. He lowered the vehicle (at this point, all tires were securely on the bed), unhooked the winch, stored the bed, mumbled something inaudible, and drove away...while letting me know that I was #1 with his middle finger. I'm not kidding. Glad I got it on video. A second tow driver from this company was dispatched to clean up Patrick's mess. Vincent arrive about 20 min and was an angel. No issues, very professional. I've had 2 AAA calls in recent months (2022 & early 2023). Both times Armada Towing was the company that responded. First was a middle-aged man who was very polite and most helpful. I couldn't get the key out of the ignition nor could a neighbor do it. He arrived in mere minutes and quickly removed the key. Lots of folks would have left at that point. But this kind man showed me why the key couldn't be removed. Most tow drivers would never do that! The 2nd time I picked up a take-out lunch and just sat in my car to eat it so I could continue my errands. But when I tried to start the car it wouldn't start. Then I realized the key had not been in the usual position. Called AAA again and the Armada Towing driver told me where he was and estimated 30 minutes travel time. This time a young man arrived and verified that my battery was dead. I asked if he had a battery appropriate for my car. He did and the cost seemed realistic and came with a AAA guarantee. He quickly changed the battery and I drove away and finished my errands. I've been a AAA member for decades and have plenty of other drivers to compare them to. They were great.. until they weren't. Sent in a service call at 12:30 am, they sent out two men (both of which weren't equipped for my vehicle) first guy hadn't had the correct truck and second guy didn't have a tow hook. Last guy they sent out, Micheal, had the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life - I had to have my boyfriend take over to attempt to talk to him because he was so disrespectful, threatened to cancel the call and send someone else all because I was making sure he had the proper equipment before he got to me. Dispatch said he would have a tow hook this time but he didn't and said if a tow hook was what I needed, that it was on me to purchase that.. it was 3 am by this time. He was confident he could get it on anyway, we both said okay and a whole HOUR goes by after he said he'd be to us soon. I call dispatch (cause I was avoiding having to contact him after that call) and this guy was sitting about half a mile away from the car, not attempting to find us or anything just WASTING OUR TIME. It was so late and I was exhausted. Called Micheal back and this guy said, well I waited at the location and you weren't there so the trip was cancelled. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had with a recommended Triple A towing company. Ended up having to request they connect with a totally different company. Triple A had finally connected me with one at 9 am.. but I had already slept in the car and pushed it across the street to get the tire fixed at a thankfully close by shop. I wish I could give them zero stars but I can't. Maybe that's how they get new clients, by causing wrecks.
