I ate their Breakfast in a Bowl item and it will fill you up. It comes with a plate full of stone grits, 2 eggs however you like, American cheese, and chopped bacon. Very good and needed no added seasoning read more

The po-boy bread could've been better, and the shrimp were not very plentiful. But the catfish po-boy was quite tasty. I probably would've rated our experience as 3 stars for average, but am going with a 4 because our server was GREAT! read more

Well, it's been a while since any food establishment has surprised me. I have to give this place their props! Everything was simply delicious. From the hostesses, to the waitress (Nicole), to the food. Straight phenomenal. Great Friday night festive atmosphere. We ordered the Southside Reuben and it was the best that I've had in a long while. We also ordered the hot roast beef "peaux" boy and it was one of the best. I even ordered takeout to have my husband and son try the food. I will definitely be back to try that delicious bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo with the 'tada salad! read more

MY family and I visited this restaurant for lunch. Let's start with service. Our waitress , Alisa, was rude and did not do basic things like put our order in. We ordered two items that we never received. She also never checked on us after receiving our food and never refilled our drinks. The food was okay. Nothing great but not nasty. The major problem we had was when I found a hair in my muffaletta sandwich( which happens ). A manager never came to apologize or anything. If it was just hair in the sandwich then I would have given more stars but the horrible service on top of the average food just was too much. I will not return to this restaurant and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Really enjoyed this place, very busy when we went but that didn't slow the service at all got our drinks be food in a reasonable amount of time. I had the yellowfin tuna grilled with the salad and sweet potato fries, I thought it was a lot of food for the price and delicious as well. Great atmosphere, as someone who deals a lot with the military and the marines, I thought all the marine decor was awesome. A must visit in slidell for sure. read more

Food is always good-very consistent. They have really good specials Monday through Friday. And the waitstaff is great. We have fun whenever we eat there. read more

We have been trying restaurants from yelp recommendations on our entire family road trip through the south, but this was the best one we've tried. The Irish gumbo was a delight, but the remoulade on anything was the real way to go. The crab stuffed mushrooms were totally worth ordering for an appetizer, and the tuna salad was a great option if you want to go healthier. Also, the nod to local veterans was super sweet. read more

Eat here at least once every 3 weeks. Never had anything on the menu I didn't love! Love the pictures and war prizes on the wall. Always busy but fast for the crowds! Try the muffuletta!! Best on the Northshore. read more

Best place to eat in Slidell. I've gone every year for my birthday here. Every food here is delicious and I mean every food. The service is also amazing, very kind people. Whole place has a lot of military things to look at which it very neat and is a definite recommendation for everyone who comes to Slidell read more

Enjoyed this spot very much. There are a million seafood places around here. Many of them shacks but am sure they are also good like this place. Had cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, that was excellent. Had blackened catfish filet and they were not overly blackened like many places do. Was just right. Glad I made this choice my only night in town! read more

Great quick getaway from the big city. Perfect to watch games on Sunday and eat lots of food. Turkey burger was ok. I really liked the family environment. Slidell is farther than we expected but worth it. The girls had a great time. read more

Food is good. I don't love the seafood.. It could be seasoned more. But I do love the Phil Steak and Killer fries... OMG. So good. I also love Steak Night.. read more

First time visit. Outstanding menu. I had the stuffed mushrooms along with the pork rib eye dinner. My wife had the French onion soup along with the blt. The soup was the best outside of Montreal, Canada. Highly recommend if you are within an hours drive. We will definitely come back. read more

Love Southside, the food, service and staff!! Don't leave Slidell without stopping in!

They have awesome wait staff, bartenders, and management. Daily specials and regular menu is always solid and consistent and the vibe is very local appreciative is the best way to describe it. While it's no local secret gem it is one that locals probably like to keep ourselves away from tourists. Unless we bring visiting friends and fam ourselves read more

This is the second time I have eaten here. The first time I had the fried seafood platter, which was excellent. This trip I opted for the soft shell crab platter which comes with two sides. I opted for the Mac and cheese as my first side, and a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo for my second. I also ordered the fried onion rings for an appetizer. The onion rings were seasoned well and batter fried to perfection. They were thin cut but delicious. No disappointments there. The soft shell crab platter was good also. My only gripe is the gumbo could use a tad more seasoning. But all in all the meal was great. I went in a very busy Saturday night but the wait was not long. The place was a bit noisy but it's to be expected. The service was great even for a crowded and busy venue. All in all I enjoyed my dining experience and I definitely recommend eating here. read more

Wow! We wanted a burger place and this place was awesome. One in our party commented that their burger was the best hamburger (brisket) they ever had, Perfectly cooked. Wednesday night is $4.00 appetizer night. I ordered the spinach & artichoke dip. Thought I would get a smaller portion for the price, but it was the full size & it was THE BEST I've ever had. I would like to wrap this place up and take it home with me, YUM!! And Joe was an awesome waiter. read more

We found this place on yelp and thought we would try it out. Very good Red Beans and Rice. Lots of food and flavor. Our waiter Kai was great. So friendly and knowledgeable. My husband was happy to find out that the owner is a former Marine like himself. He ordered the Roast Beef Debris Fries and the Big Mo Jama Sandwich that was huge and must have been really good because he ate all of it. They offer a discount to check in on yelp and didn't give us any problems using it. We will eat here again on our next stop home. read more

Always great food and service . Just loud to dine in . Half price appetizers are great ! And skinny string onion rings are the best

We were recommended to this place by a lady at the tour we were on unbelievable catfish incredible food good service restaurant was a little loud but we really enjoyed ourselves only knock I have his coleslaw was not the greatest but everything else is slamming and they have some kind of sauce mayonnaise dill horseradish slammin. Definitely a place you want to go read more

We had a group of 8 and stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The food was about what you'd expect from a roadside diner, but not great. Half of our group's food arrived 15 minutes before the other people's food, so the first half of the group was done eating before the second half got their food. The table next to us laughed loudly about a large party they had thrown with over 100 people where several of the guests tested positive for COVID. None of the employees or patrons wore masks and the restaurant displayed a giant "Don't Tread on Me" flag. Tell me you're a racist without telling me you're a racist. That flag was designed by Christopher Gadsden, a slave trader, and has become a historical indicator of white resentment against blacks. Gross. read more

Went there for Steak night. No longer serve baked potatoes or mushrooms with their Steak Special very little drippings. Also has a different flavor profile than they had previously. You would think they would stay with what made steak night special. The price is quite a bit higher, but not a concern if all was as good as it was last year. Will not be going back for the "Steaks" Carmine read more

My waiter had to nerve to tell me nothing was wrong with my sandwich, that the "owner made it himself" when I literally get the same thing every time I go. Wasn't even trying to argue with the guy I just said my sandwich tasted a bit off from usual. Haven't been back since although their food usually comes out great. read more

Terrible tasting food and just too expensive for dinner even just for two and we do well financially. Over priced not well cooked food.
