Stopped on the way to Gulfport as it had a solid yelp rating. It didn't disappoint. Decided to stop again on way back, and last night proved first night was underrated. Had the pork chop - wow, just simply wow. This was an amazing dish - possibly the the best pork chop I have ever had. The French onion soup- a perfect complement and Mac and cheese because our server Taylor Rose said it wouldn't disappoint- and she was right. Was too full for the bread pudding- Taylor told us it could be made to go and we really wouldn't want to miss it (they were out the first time). And my only regret was not getting two desserts to go as the bread pudding had perfect flavor and consistency - clearly everyone should always save room. 1st visit my wife and I went with her cousin and her husband, this would be the 1st time for all of us. The Food, Service, waiter and Atmosphere was fantastic. We decided to go again but this time we brought our 2 Children and their Spouse's and a friend. We all order appetizers and drinks and our entrees. I ordered a Seafood Plate that came with fried Fish, Oysters and Shrimp and 2 sides. When our meals came out mine was GIGANTIC !! I told our waitress and she said that it was a Seafood Platter for TWO ! I said I only ordered a Seafood plate for ME. She said they only had ONE Seafood Platter and that it was for TWO people. Well I said it's only for "ONE" me ! and that I wanted to Seafood plate with the fish, Oysters and Shrimp. Long story short , I kept it rather than RUIN our dinner. This MUST have been an inexperienced new waitress because I would think that an EXPERIENCED Waitress would have warned a elderly 68yr old that, that was PLENTY BIG and alot of food for one !! But she never !!! Other than a careless waitress everything was Greatttt ! Delicious !! And our Waitress was ok, except for the misunderstanding. Over-rated big time. The food is greasy, typical diner fare. Their menu is huge, which is perhaps their primary claim to fame. But they are master of no dish - everything looked half-assed, and blah. You'll find better food at Burger King at 1/4the the price. Our table service was average at best, though I know others must have gotten better or worse service than us. We got not a single water refill and nothing that we didn't have to flag down and ask for. My suggestion: look elsewhere for your dining. read more

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Slidell and has been for ages. Everything I've ever had here was delicious! The fried mushrooms with honey mustard is my favorite. Hands down the best honey mustard on the planet! My hubby is insanely picky but he's also a retired Marine so he loves going here. The staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

Finally got to try this place the other night. It was Saturday and it was packed! I had tried eating here before, but didn't stick around for the wait until tonight. it seems they are always busy. We had just a bit of a wait. I thought it was cool that they use the Yelp app for their waiting list. I had not seen that before. I guess it was 10 or 15 minutes before we got a table. Not bad. It was game night so the place was LOUD! I mean LOUD! I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was pretty good. We had friend mushrooms for the app. They give you a LOT and they were super good. I forgot the name of our server, but he was sure working his butt off. He did a great job and kept us up on drinks and whatever else we needed. I like the atmosphere. We met some friends here on a Tuesday night. We had a group of 13, and the staff was quick to get our table together. Our server, Gabby, was very friendly, attentive, refilled our drinks, got all our orders straight, and we all had separate checks without any issues! I got the Ruben. It was really good! The corned beef was tender. My mother got the Tuesday special; at the time, it was spaghetti with two large meatballs. The sauce smelled so good. I tasted the meat balls, and now I know I need to come back on a Tuesday! Everyone really enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The walls are decorated with military memorabilia, and I love the photos of the service men and women. The restaurant was clean and the prices were good. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

Came here for the first time after reading the great reviews. Was a bit of a wait, which was understandable since it was dinnertime. After having perused the menu, I decided on the country fried steak with white gravy and mashed potatoes as well as the French onion soup. The soup must be an acquired taste because it tasted more like onions bathed in Worcestershire sauce with a bit of beef broth. I've never had sesame seed bread in my soup which was interesting. The cheese on top was good, though. When the main entree arrived, the white gravy was tan in color. Had a bit of a sweet aftertaste, which was odd. The steak itself tasted processed which turned me off my dinner after three bites. The mashed potatoes had too much garlic powder for my taste. The atmosphere itself was pleasant and the server was attentive for a busy restaurant. Not sure if I'll be returning. read more

Stopped for the night in Slidell and my 17 yo son picked this restaurant from Yelp. The wait was about 30 minutes on a Wednesday night. The wait was worth it. Our waiter was Matt and he was quick and friendly. Hub ordered the Reuben and said it could have used more dressing. My vegetarian daughter ordered a bowl of mac & cheese and she recommends it to others. The 17 yo birthday boy ordered the the Ultimate Bacon Melt and was delighted. They also gave him a humongous brownie dessert free for his birthday. He was a happy camper! I had a cup of gumbo which was delicious with a wonderful bite and the Strawberry Spinach Salad that was huge. It was good but I would have liked a little more of the pecans. Having just moved to the Northshore , previously from Westbank, I picked this place for my birthday dinner. There were 6 of us on a busy Sunday. We joined the waitlist on our way to the restaurant and had a short wait when we arrived. All of us loved what we ordered! Sunday is the only day they do breakfast food too, so I ordered the breakfast bowl. Really simple, but really really good! Our waitress was AMAZING. She even humored my 90 yr old grandma when she complained about the celery being too stringy. Hee hee. Afterwards, my son and I played giant Jenga outside and had a blast.
