The maintenance staff is exceptional and any issues that every came up with, they took care of almost immediately. As far as the amenities go, my top 3: 1. The gym here is amazing and it was the biggest selling point for me. It's two stories and they have a lot of functional equipment that I use to train. 2. There are several gas grills on the property, which is super convenient. 3. Both the pool and the back courtyard and really nice and relaxing. Highly recommend checking this place out. This is by far my most favorite complex I've lived in the past 8 years of being in Austin.

It is an older complex and it's very small, not much luxury or amenities when I lived there but the were the most affordable in the area at that time (525.00 for studio if I recall). The manager was doing her best to bring in good tenants and rid the place of the unruly ones. After most of the shady people were gone the place had a very good vibe, we all knew each other and many of us would hang out in the evenings and eat meals at whomever decided to cook that night, it was friendly and communal and we all looked after each other. Some of the problems that did come up were the bug problem. I was lucky not to have it in my unit but others did and some had it pretty bad. Cars were broken into several times and we suspected a lot of this came from the complex next door since they had a lot of shady people still living there, lots of drug activity for sure. The walls and windows do nothing to block the sounds outside so if you work nights this may not be for you! There was no play area for the kids, just a pool and a gazebo so this may not be ideal if you have young kids. The Jr. High school is just under 2 miles so that means no school busses for the kids, be prepared to let them walk or take a metro, or to transport them on your own. Laundry room was terrible! Four washers and dryers and most of the time, two or more are out of order- and they have locked it up early with my clothes in the dryer, and you can't get your clothes until the next day. There was a nice laundromat across the street and most of us did laundry there. Seeing the prices they charge now, I would not recommend this place at that price, unless they have made a lot of upgrades.

Nice property overall. It really is beautiful, with nice amenities. Heidi is a great assistant…read moremanager, Ashley was a great assistant manager, brief interactions with MaryHelen were pleasant. I can't speak much on the new manger as I didn't interact with her (which isn't a bad thing), and the maintenance team was always quick and reliable. The property cleaning lady left A LOT to be desired, you see her walking around daily, but nothing ever seemed to be getting cleaned and you would often see the same trash in the same spot for days on end. The walls are kind of thin and there were some pipe issues, but I believe those were fixed as my lease was ending so it may no longer be an issue. The parking garage is nice, but beware of inconsiderate neighbors who speed through, not much management can do about that though. You're right off mopac so it doesn't take long to get anywhere in town. There's a nice "park" right next door and lots of shopping in the surrounding area. Overall I enjoyed my 16 months at Alexan and feel the pros outweighed the cons, but I was ready to go when my lease was up.

The amenities were limited at the beginning but by the time we moved out, everything was open with safety measures. They did a great job at managing the Covid situation. During the storm they kept us updated and even got us water and a warm bus until the electricity came back on. Honestly, they really take care of their tenants in many ways with live entertainment, except use classes or free or discounted food trucks. The 1 bedroom apartments have tons of cabinet space, spacious closets and modern appliances. It was a good layout despite some noise from upstairs. The worst part about AGR would be the garage and dog parks. I just don't understand why they would make such a narrow garage in a state that is known for having massive trucks. There are so many cars that have scraped up on the wall that we could start an Instagram for it. There were also some car break ins because the gate was left unlocked many times. Turns out the cars that were broken into were unlocked. They did have a ton of water shut offs but luckily it never affected my side of the building or it occurred while I was at work. The best part, besides the unit itself, was the staff. They are always on top of it. You can always count on someone helping you out with any questions or concerns in a very friendly and caring manner. I really do miss them.

ONLY GIVING 5 STARS BECAUSE OF HOLLY WHO WORKS IN THE LEASING OFFICE!!!!…read more The pool at The Quincy is currently being rebuilt and is unlikely to be open until the end of summer, according to the property manager, Kim Carpenter. However, we all know this likely means the pool will not be open at all this summer. When inquiring about possible accommodations--such as resort passes, which other apartment communities have provided in similar situations--I received a dismissive and unhelpful response from Kim, who repeatedly stated, "I'll let you know when I know." Unfortunately, her communication came across as both unprofessional and disrespectful. As a property manager, she should be able to address resident concerns in a more courteous and transparent manner. Fortunately, Holly, who I believe is the assistant manager, stepped in and provided a much more helpful response. She explained that "ownership is looking into accommodations, and as soon as we have an update, we will let you know right away." Her approach was professional, empathetic, and understanding of residents' concerns. If you need assistance from the leasing office, I highly recommend working with Holly--she truly cares about residents and goes the extra mile to help. However, based on my experience, I would advise against working with Kim unless you're prepared for an unprofessional and dismissive interaction. On a personal note--I need a pool this summer!

We went days without running water; couldn't cook,…read morecouldn't shower, and couldn't even flush the toilet. l've reached out multiple times asking for a credit to cover the out-of-pocket expenses this caused, but management has completely ghosted me since August 12. On top of that, the plumbing repairs were left a complete mess and created safety hazards in the hall (check the attached pictures). Zero accountability. I strongly advise against moving here. Despite charging premium rent, this building is plagued by severe safety and compliance violations. For weeks, ongoing, messy repairs have left the property with broken walls and failing building systems, creating hazardous living conditions and a high risk of mold (by the patched plastic walls - not on code ). Worse than the physical state of the building is the property management; instead of fixing these issues, they respond to residents with hostility, dismissiveness, and unethical intimidation tactics, including severe breaches of privacy.

Jewel is just small enough to feel like solid community of neighbors. I've felt nothing but respected by the other tenants! I also have made some great friends here at Jewel as well! Bryant Falcon, Assistant Property Manager, is an incredible human being that is kind, genuine, adaptable, and one of the most hard working individuals that I get the pleasure of seeing everyday *except when he is working one of his other two jobs or actually enjoying a day off*. He deserves a raise, promotion, and gold star, Roscoe Property Management! Davis, Lead Maintenance, is also an amazing human being! They are both working very hard to make sure their tenants are happy. The day before Thanksgiving, I had no hot water. I reported black growth on my walls and around FIVE of my vents (bedroom closet, den, living room,…read moreand by the main HVAC vent). Management's response was to send someone to wipe the walls, paint over them, and close the work order. The vents were never addressed. When I kept reporting it, I was told that normal moisture readings mean there is nothing further to investigate. That doesn't explain the growth that keeps appearing on my walls and vents, or what grew in my petri dish tests. I have been dealing with sinus problems, headaches, and body aches, and my 9-year-old dog has been affected too. Management said in writing that they "are not biologists," so they can't identify the substance and won't involve a third-party service. They also suggested my samples could be tampered with. Their own emails say it best: "we, at this time, do not plan to involve a third party service." After I complained that I wasn't being taken seriously, I got an email apologizing that I felt that way, with no action attached. So I paid out of pocket for my own professional inspection. The inspector found mold in my HVAC system, and I am reporting it. Management still has not acted. If you care about your health, your pets, or your deposit, think twice. A property that paints over a reported problem and refuses to test it is not one I'd trust with your family.
