DISCLAIMER: This review is strictly based on TOURING the property, not as a resident. I toured Tree today 7/28/23. The amenities seemed to be top notch. They offer co working spaces, a nice pool with grills,package and dry cleaning lockers and large gym and more. I couldn't give it 5 stars as I was not able to tour my actual floor plan. That makes it very hard to gauge what my potential living situation would be. The staff seemed friendly. The property is managed by Greystar. As a current greystar resident, that's a red flag for me. They are notorious for leaving unresolved issues, lacking in communication and poor maintenance. I will keep looking for units, this was nice, but I can't say since I couldn't see my unit or floor plan. read more

Where to begin. Besides being overpriced... car was broken into .... Predatory towing services. (my car was towed TWICE and my guests car was towed no less than 15 minutes after parking - also after registering the vehicle appropriately) each tow was around 300 and they won't budge on the price even if you showed them you registered the car. Apartment management is no help with that. I had to switch apartments mid lease because my flooring was coming apart and was a trip hazard. New apartment had roaches coming out of the faucet. Pool area is EXTREMELY loud on weekends and overcrowded. Garbage company often doesn't pick up the trash on the appropriate days. My mail was stolen several times including a personal art print my friend mailed me and Christmas cards from family. Amazon and ups packages CONSTANTLY stolen to the point that usps stopped delivering to that location and you had to pick up packages at the post office. The outside entrances and elevators always reek of dog urine. Elevators are out of order a lot. I'm glad to be out of there. read more

Updating again because now my car has been STOLEN from this apartment complex. I tried posting on the community wall to update other tenants about this, and management rejected my post because they don't want people to know how unsafe this place is. We then received a vague email stating the following: "Please note that our residential gate in the parking garage is an access gate to manage the flow of residents entering the parking garage; they are not security gates and do not ensure safety." So our washer needed to be replaced as it was really loud/clunky when we moved in. They came by last week and swapped it out. That machine does not work. They have claimed they have tested it twice now and still does not work. They said they were going to go through the warranty and we would get a new one on 12/17. We still don't have one. They cancelled our maintenance request this morning. I'm just so disappointed. We are going on 8+ days without a washing machine while having a sick baby. Every time I call they need to track down a maintenance person and i've been trying to be as understanding as possible, and I understand a washing machine is a "luxury" and this isn't an emergency but if you've ever had a sick child who is throwing up on all her clothes, bedding etc it is extremely hard to get to the laundromat between work and her just being ill. read more

My name is Brandon Mayfield, and I've lived at Tree Apartments since April. I was impressed with the design and location, and while I don't love carpet, it was easy to live with. I lived in both the Maple and Hickory floor plans, loving the Maple's spacious layout and dual sinks. The move-in was easy, and the pool is always clean. Dianne (Property Manager) and Kelsey (Assistant Manager) are friendly and proactive, creating a fun community. Ryan and I, as the leasing team, worked alongside the Regional Manager Candace to improve the experience for all residents. The maintenance team, led by Jorge with Andrew, Manuel, and Michael, is fantastic. Tree Apartments has been a great first home in Texas, and I highly recommend it for its quality, value, and community. Though I've relocated to Dallas, Tree Apartments will always be a second home to me. read more

When I moved here in 2020 it was decent, safe and things were fixed in a pretty timely manner. I'm not sure if it's come under new management but the last two years have consisted of nothing but burglary, zero security, constant car break ins, BLACK MOLD, the garage gate and elevator is always broken and just about anyone can get inside the complex, but the worst was NO AC MAJORITY OF THE SUMMER that took them 5 months to fix because most request went ignored. My apartment was pushing 90 DEGREES for MONTHS and not fixed until I informed them this is in fact illegal and was advised by my attorney to not pay rent until it's fixed. Amazingly they had a specialist out the next day to fix it after that, but shocker it's broken AGAIN! Luckily it's winter now and I broke my lease due to safety concerns, but the fact they treat a necessity like that as NBD is insane. My storage unit was broken into several times. After the first time maintenance changed the locks and two days later it was broken into again with no forced entry which is very suspicious. They don't have cameras in the halls and were completely unhelpful every time. They got rid of security completely, regardless of the fact that car break ins are rampant due to the garage gate constantly being broken and left wide open. My car windows were smashed in which could have been avoided by either fixing the garage or re-hiring parking lot security until it was fixed. My AC stopped working in the middle of summer and took MONTHS to fix. Even though I lived here for years and had no issues I was told it was something on my end. I obviously still had to pay rent even though I couldn't even stay in my apartment. They finally had maintenance look into it and after weeks of having an unbearably hot apartment informed me they installed a brand new unit, which I later found out was a lie when the outside specialist they eventually had to hire (bc even with the "new unit" it still wouldn't turn on) told me there was a leak and that was the issue. They also found black mold in my shower while working on this and basically tore the bathroom apart. You can see from the pictures that my AC stopped working in January and wasn't fixed until June! I had to ask for a portable AC multiple times because they wouldn't bring me one and most of my emails and requests went completely unanswered. When I went down there to break my lease there were several other residents ending there's as well! If you move here expect to get robbed and have your car get broken into. Despite all the issues they refuse to install hallway or parking lot cameras because they simply don't care about the safety of their residents. They deny your post on the community board if it's remotely negative. I made a post asking if anyone saw anything suspicious around the time my car windows were smashed and it was denied. They simply do not care! They haven't completed my inspection yet, but even though I left my apartment immaculate (spackled, painted and hired a cleaning crew) from what I've read from other reviews I'm sure they'll still charge me something insane. If that is the case I'll have no choice but to take them to court for the unlivable conditions due to them disregarding my AC not working in the middle of summer and hopefully get reimbursed for having to stay elsewhere during that time. Living here has cost so much in damages, losses and hotel/airbnb fees because they don't want to do their job. I'll be sure to update this review once everything is finalized. read more

I HATE that I have to write this review but hopefully it will save people time, energy, and money. First let me say, I really, really liked the apartment complex as a whole and love the amenities and would not be leaving a one star review if this wasn't an on-going issue. If I had a dollar for the amount of emails I have from the complex saying "sorry for the inconvenience", then I would be able to afford a house in this crazy market. The main part of this review is to shed light on the security issue but I am going to list things that have happened since I have lived here. -The key fob system was down for months and anyone could just walk in off the street. I had a homeless person outside my door who had wandered in. -The parking garage gate has been broken more than it has worked. This has been for the better part of... a year, roughly. - The service elevator was broken for MONTHS! I would of hated to have needed to move in during this time. And now for the reason I am leaving a review. Sorry for how long the story is in advance. 8 or 9 months ago my car was broken into and the amount of damage done caused the insurance company to total the car. The individual who broke in and tried to steal my car drilled out the ignition, broke the dash, ripped out the wiring, broke the paneling and tracking to the windows... it was a hot mess. I alerted the property management team and was met with a horrible attitude which seemed like I was bothering them. They responded "Oh, yea, this has been happening a lot. Did you leave anything out in your car?" As if to say "You enticed the culprit by leaving valuables". They then further tell me, this is not just a Tree problem, this is an Austin issue but we will let our owners know this has happened. And there was mention of asking to add additional patrols with security and installing cameras. Fast forward to this past weekend and my guest' car was broken into, along with others beside him. Well, when I reported it to the management team, same exact story. How they will bring this up to the owners. They still currently do not have cameras and the gate is ALWAYS broken. And I do mean always. It has been broken more than functioning for the better part of a year. I explained to them this is their incompetence and they are doing nothing to deter these break-ins. This is what they proceeded to tell me, "Tree is not responsible for your safety", "We can't possibly have cameras installed in a week", " You have to think about our budget, we have to submit a request and get the approvals" My car was originally broken into 8-9 months ago, so they have had plenty of time. Honestly, I was seeing red when I heard them talk about their budget. I had to buy a new car and you want to talk about budgets? There is no way for Tree to control the actions of others but they can be taking steps to mitigate these issues. It truly is unfortunate because I liked living here until this all happened. read more

What a nightmare the parking situation and parking gate is here! The gates to the parking garage are constantly broken and never work. Today I was pulling out of the exit gate. The exit was blocked by a car that was in the handicapped spot near the exit gate. My car was partially pulled through the exit gate. I was worried I was going to hit the car in the handicapped spot so I got out of my car to make sure I wouldn't hit it. While I was doing that the gate closed on my car while it was still in the gate. The gate caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to my car. How are there no sensors to make sure there's nothing blocking the gate before it shuts? I spoke to management and they said I needed to file a claim on my auto insurance. How can a gate shut when there's still a car in it?! If it will close on a car it will close on a person! This isn't safe! I've been incredibly patient with all of the problems with the gates, but this is ridiculous. It's extremely unsafe for the gate to be so out of whack that it closes while there's a vehicle blocking the exit. Now I'm responsible for paying my $1,000 deductible to repair thousands of dollars worth of body damage that was done by the gate that never operates properly. And now my insurance rates will go up. The passenger front door on my car won't even open. The gates are pointless anyways. My car was broken into last week on the 5th floor of the parking garage while the gates were operational. The gates are nothing more than decorations and they don't even work. We've had rampant auto theft in the parking garage and hiring security guards to work overnight didn't even work. I moved in the end of January 2023. Would not recommend. - Maintenance left my door wide open after a service request - Car related: garage has regular break-ins, they charge you for a security guard that is rarely present, tow trucks, they just threatened to tow any car that doesn't have update registration - Safety related: regularly have homeless in the hallways, particularly when it's too hot or too cold - You will not get your security deposit back as they charge $400/year for "wear and tear" to the carpet, even if it's not being replaced - Management has changed every year that I lived here, the only person in leasing that was of any help just left the property - They will regularly try to renew your lease at a 5-7% bump in rent, which to be fair is better than many other complexes you heard about in the pandemic that would have drastic changes from lease to lease....until you realize that the real market value is much lower than things were a year or two ago. I love my apartment but don't expect to have guests visit you. They require reservations every 24 hrs and will tow you if you are ten minutes past. I've now had 3 friends and family towed. The parking rules are worse than parking center of downtown. Very disappointing to live somewhere with higher rent that is considered luxury and to have such ridiculous rules. read more

Units are satisfactory. Don't expect to get a package delivered to your unit. No door dash or other because of apartment layout. Car was broken into and then stolen. Many other robberies as well. Tree has great front desk staff and fast maintenance. I was really satisfied with that as I had been warned it was hard to come by in Austin. The thing that knocked it down from a 5 was that you are nickle-and-dimed when you move out! As someone who lives with someone who has OCD- our place was VERY clean. We still paid hundreds of dollars for very minor damage (warn carpet). The management company (Greystar) did communicate with us and follow proper legal protocol when we questioned the charges. It seems silly to give someone a positive review for following the law but I hear some landlord horror stories. In sum prepare your budget to lose a chunk of your deposit- otherwise good apartments. read more

I have been living here since June 2015 and will more than likely be renewing our lease. We have an apt that faces the pool and on the top floor. We haven't had much issues with noise and I'm a very light sleeper. The hallway can get loud with the trash collector bin at times (honestly the only complaint is paying for this service, it's pointless). The leaf blower at 9am is the only other noise, no resident noises. I don't mind facing the pool but if I could pick again it would probably be an outer facing apt just for the privacy. There is pet mess in common areas that's not cleaned frequently enough, if residents are not going to do it, shouldn't tree take on the responsibility? With the pet fee, deposit, and rent charges we pay! Pet feces can spread disease. Not to mention it's just not pleasant to come in from a walk with poop on your shoes. The gym has problems with wifi but more often it's working. Equipment is nice, all I need. We never have issues with parking but could be because we live in a less populated area of the building. Neighbors are friendly. We miss Megan from the front office but have no issues with current staff. Just haven't really got to know them, it seems like high turnover. Maintenance has been easy to order and quick to respond. We haven't had major issues though. One of the best amenities living here is access to Porter Ale House, they have amazing food (just wish they would serve later). Hopefully another yummy spot opens in the free retail space. Also, the easy access to highways/dtown is very convenient. Overall... We love living here! It has been a great experience! read more

First, 5 good things about this building: 1. Maintenance team is great. Rob is awesome. 2. The pool is pretty nice: lots of room, palm trees, outdoor kitchen with jumbo grills and cabanas, not too crowded during the week. The second courtyard has a charcoal grill and a bocce ball court, which is an unusual amenity. 3. The parking garage is roomy and the parking spaces are very wide. Plus, there's plenty of free guest parking (street, garage, and leasing area). There were a few car robberies, though, so make sure to lock your vehicle! 4. Good variety of spacious floorplans. Some have big pantries. Balconies have lockable storage. Closets are big. You can buy extra storage too. 5. I like living on South 1st and find congestion on the road to be minimal. Living in this location makes my errands fast and easy, since 290 is the gateway to so many shops. And here are 10 things I didn't like: 1. The place smells. BAD. This primarily stems from the building's use of Valet Waste, a service that collects trash and recycling outside of residents' doors. Many residents put their trash out at the wrong time, in the wrong container, or on the wrong day. As a result, trash sits in the hallways. Since the outdoorish hallways are not well-ventilated, that smell lingers. And if you live near a trash room, the odor is unmistakeable. Valet Waste supposedly supplies air freshener, marks violators and issues fines, but this does nothing to change the habit or smell. 2. Trust me: The building is cheaply constructed, which causes issues. If you walk around your apartment (excluding ground floor) on anything but tippy toes, everything will shake. You will hear your furniture rattling, your ceiling fan jolting -- everything. And your neighbors will hear it too. I constantly hear dogs walking and barking, full conversations, musical instruments, stairwell doors slamming and wheeled carts rolling. Every piece of the hallway is connected to another by large metal brackets, and anything that glides over those will make a loud, reverberating sound. 3. Some of the apartments get little to no natural light. After all, this building is called Tree, and if you don't clear the tree line, you're living in a basement. 4. The finishes in the apartment are dark and dated. The walls are painted a darker color compared to other properties. The kitchens have dark, scratch-prone cabinetry and dark red-brown countertops. The doors, trim and blinds are all dark brown. The dark laminate floors show scuff marks. The cheap bathroom faucets are too far from the sink basin, don't match the other metal finishes and are cheap and full of hard-to-clean crevices. 5. When the leasing office is closed, you lose access to all indoor amenities (except for the gym, and the courtyards when they are open). Since they have pretty constrained hours, you'll hardly have a chance to sit in those couches or play pool while prospective renters visit. Heard they have WiFi in the common spaces? Good luck, it never works. 6. Right when I moved in, the leasing office discontinued package service. They currently do not sign for UPS or FedEx packages, but they do hold USPS packages. Unlike other buildings, they do not have a 24/7 digital kiosk for package retrieval. UPS does deliver directly to my door, though, and I haven't had too many issues. 7. This property is a sprawling mid-rise. It is so big that some people use scooters to get their mail. If you have someone coming to visit you or dropping off a delivery, navigating the property to find your apartment is near impossible: there are no signs on the wall pointing toward apartment numbers, and there are a number of confusing hallways. If your guest travels from building one to building two in a particular hallway, they'll get locked out of the building. And if they park on the roof, it's a labyrinth to get into the building. 8. The building doesn't invest in improvements. There are broken or aged items in the gym. There are doors that get stuck or slam in the middle of the night. They never seem to make any changes that improve the resident experience. 9. There has been a TON of turnover in management, which is always a red flag. The 3 people I worked with when I first leased have all been replaced 2-3 times. I've seen maybe six assistant managers. When it comes to communication, I'm always frustrated: emails are constantly lost, followups never happen, and the building has no effective strategy for making building-wide announcements. Toward the end of my lease, I had a major noise problem with a neighbor's dog. Their handling of the issue was embarrassing. 10. Porter, the gastropub that once occupied the corner retail space, has shuttered. It's really a shame -- Porter was awesome, and there other retail spaces are empty or uninteresting. Other buildings have bars, restaurants, shops and other cool stuff a stone's throw away. read more

Moved in these beautiful apartments one month ago. And the apt. Leasing agents and staff get 5 star from me. The pool area is like a resort. There are dog areas. Hardwood floors. Lighting, blinds, ceiling fans. Just came from 17 years living in America's finest city, San Diego . Austin is easy to find your way around and a friendly open minded city. Lots to do. And The Tree has the "04" zip code centrally located. A portion of this large complex is still under construction so there is availability for you. Other yelpers who complain over a $20.00 charge for trash pic up at your door??? Really? Luxury is here. Appreciate it. read more

I've lived at the complex for 2 years now and plan on re-signing for a 3rd. I absolutely love my apartment, the amenities and the staff. The maintenance staff is exceptional and any issues that every came up with, they took care of almost immediately. As far as the amenities go, my top 3: 1. The gym here is amazing and it was the biggest selling point for me. It's two stories and they have a lot of functional equipment that I use to train. 2. There are several gas grills on the property, which is super convenient. 3. Both the pool and the back courtyard and really nice and relaxing. Highly recommend checking this place out. This is by far my most favorite complex I've lived in the past 8 years of being in Austin. read more

Tree is a concrete bunker with 1-bar service area on AT&T. - The poorly designed parking structure is a constant game of chicken. Hope you don't mind someone hitting your car. People zoom around too quickly and hit-and-runs happen. There are no security cameras in the garage. Lock your car doors and prepare for regular notices about break-ins. - Tree residents are super green! The recycling bin is always overflowing with cardboard boxes, not sure when they empty the dumpsters. - Don't forget the mandatory trash valet service fee. Trash service is not daily. - Residents are treated like children with condescending ALL CAPS notices slipped under the door. - Cheap wood laminate floors and unsanded sharp cabinet edges - Doors leak air, so prepare for higher utility bills - Have a pet? Moved in roughly 6 months ago.. but I've been a Brittany W. fan for 7! My good experience started from my initial inquiry. Jason went above and beyond to show us the place remotely and Brittany was more than happy and helpful to answer every one (and there was a lot) of my calls and emails pertaining to moving across the country into tree! The reception is always warm when I go to the lobby and it makes me feel like I'm getting that southern hospitality you always hear about back up north. I'm in love with how my place turned out and am getting my moneys worth with the amenities provided! I know the Austin rental market is very hot right now... so my hope is that we continue to have reasonable rent so I can stay here as long as I can! (: read more

My experience at Tree was similar to going on a really hot date...looked great...sounded great...only to find out the person is a piece of shit on the inside. Feel like being babysat by management? Go live at Tree! Feel like hearing every step, move, even cell phones vibrating from the floor above you? Go live at Tree! I have no idea who these people are that are bashing Tree - I'm guessing young college students and grads, definitely not ex-New Yorkers who have had the pleasure of true slumlord living. The people and facilities at Tree are wonderful. The staff is amazing and so helpful. The community is friendly and welcoming. It's like living at the W Hotel, with free parking. I love my apartment and maintenance does anything they can to fix any issue right away. I've been here over a year, and just renewed. I've never lived anywhere nicer. But please don't move here in droves, I really don't want them to raise the rent. So, um yeah - it's awful here. Go elsewhere... read more

Tree was once a really enjoyable place to live. Not anymore. The leasing office has switched staff a couple times since the building first opened. The original staff was great and felt genuinely caring. Now they *appear* sympathetic, caring, but they will do absolutely nothing at all to help you. Management picks and chooses who is required to follow the rules. Have an issue with a neighbor? They'll suggest you sort it out on your own. If that doesn't work, they'll suggest you try x, y, and z. When those don't work, they'll just blame you rather than actually attempt to solve the problem. If you're lucky, you won't end up with a leasing violation for something that isn't your fault. People drive recklessly through the garage at all times. Management claims speed bumps are too expensive because apparently you can put a price on resident safety. There are issues with people double parking or visitors taking designated resident parking spaces, but apparently no one in the leasing office has the ability to tow, despite towing signs posted across the garage. New residents constantly block part of the entrance to the garage with moving trucks, restricting people from entering or exiting the garage and causing confusion and headaches. The solution? Let's repaint the already visible "no parking" line.... because people clearly pay attention to that already!!! When issues are actually addressed here, it's in the form of a mass three-page-long email outlining all the things you're not allowed to do. There's so much information crammed into one email that it's nearly impossible to sit through. No one reads them. Tree spends more time advertising parties at the pool than actually addressing problems, like aggressive dogs off leash taking dumps in the common areas. Once upon a time Tree had building security, but they haven't been on site in over a year. If there is a situation which requires calling them, don't worry, they'll be there in 45 minutes. Maintenance was done on our balcony months ago. The workers left behind tools, which I reported to the leasing office. The tools are STILL sitting on my balcony, though they will be thrown away following this review. The hallways are often sticky or smell bad due to neighbors not properly disposing of their trash. This is apparently regulated, yet there are repeat offenders who leave their trash incorrectly outside of their door which leads me to believe those rules aren't enforced either. I'll give this place a extra star for the actual apartments. They are nicer than most in Austin, but made with cheap parts. The grounds are kept nice and common areas are enjoyable. However, the floors are paper thin, so you'll likely hear your neighbors dog barking for hours at a time, but don't bother complaining -- the leasing office won't fix that either. Another star for how quick and efficient the maintenance team is. They are truly the only decent part of the staff. All in all, come January I won't waste my time signing another lease here. I'd rather live somewhere with a leasing office that cares about more than a commission check. read more

Finally getting around to writing a review about living here. We lived here for about a year and a half. Moved out in Dec 2017 so maybe there's been some changes... Pros: 1. Location is amazing! Close to downtown, right inbtwn Lamar and Congress. Easy access to 71. HEB is about a 5-10min drive. Bus stop right out front and local coffee shop within walking distance. Target, Central Market were about 10min away. 2. The gym is actually pretty nice and spacious. Cardio equipment is ok. Nice big flatscreens near the cardio equipment. 3. Pool is decent, and can obviously get busy on the weekends. Perfect during the week! 4. Our apt was really nice- a 1 bedroom + study. Lots of closet space and storage areas. Our patio opened up to one of the garden areas that had ping pong tables, bocce ball, and seating area with cute hanging lights. 5. Maintenance was always quick and effortless! Cons: 1. Parking Garage- they put in speed bumps finally but people drive like jerk offs going around the corners. I don't know how there aren't more accidents. Plus parking is awful bc residents liked to park on the lower levels who live on the top floors, causing the lower levels to park on the top floors if you get home late. 2. Packages- this was the most frustrating thing. We had a number of packages lost/stolen. Even when packages showed as delivered to the front office they still couldn't be found. There were constant messages on the message board asking if anyone had gotten the wrong package or seen theirs. So then the complex said all packages, except usps, would be delivered to your door going forward, or else you needed to have it sent to your work. Just ridiculous. Y'all need to invest in someone who can solely handle packages or a package system like most newer places have bc online shopping is never going away. 3. The office people who worked at the front desk seemed bothered whenever I came in. It felt awkward. 4. Neighbors- obviously depends but it seems the majority of those who used to live here were younger, which makes me sound old but I'm in my early 30s, but it was always loud. 5. Dog poop- the complex sent out so many emails about people not picking up their dog poop. It was disgusting and smelled awful. Even the residents constantly posted about it on the message board. Just super inconsiderate. 6. Didn't happen to me personally but bikes got stolen from inside the complex. Not sure if it was by other residents or what. My bf also left his headphones at the gym and while yes it was his fault, no one turned them into the office. Nice neighbors. Aright there you have it. Hope this is helpful! read more

Just wanted to drop a quick review about the maintenance crew here. They have been super quick to fix anything we needed done here. Literally they came to replace something as small as a lightbulb for us in the past and today they unclogged the tub and replaced our ceiling fan. They even gave us a courtesy call a day in advance. Typically these are things you would fee you need to do on your own, but they make us feel like living should be easy here and they don't mind taking care of it at all. Thanks Tree! read more

We lived in Tree during 1 year and we have mixed feelings about it. Staff: - Generally the staff was very professional with us and tried to assist us on our requests, but with some staff we always got the feeling of some superficiality. This was mainly after we requested to move apartments due to noise issues. Or maintenance requests were accepted with reservations by some staff. We felt uncomfortable in making requests after a while... Amenities: - No doubts this place has superior design and attention to detail on the common areas. The leasing office area with decorated as a modern 4/5 star hotel. The pool area very well designed and maintained. Parking: - ok, but after 5pm you often need to park on upper floors. Also in the entrance they had the trash containers which gives the place a not so great 1st impression Gym: - Equipments is ok, but media controls and wifi only worked 50% of the time Doggy park: - Often in mediocre condition but I believe its more to due to residents that simply don't want to clean after their dogs but complaint about the conditions Neighbors: - With the exception of a few nice people, this place is like a wanna be frat place. no one says hello to each other, and there lots of smugness in the air :) Quality of construction: - I am new to the US, so I was shocked to find how bad quality of construction is in places like this that you pay premium price. our neighbor could hear our tv even on low volume, we could hear her on the phone and her tiny dog walking and we could hear her neighbors when they were partying (every 3rd day) when you turn on hot water you can hear the pipes expanding and the A/C units are noisy. the corridors to the apartments with to give a "industrial" look, but feel more like a unfinished and poorly clean on some shady building (there are open air corridors) There is a strong chemical smell of the paint/or clue used which caused us to have often have headaches. Please take in consideration that many of my complaints on the quality of construction are common to many other apartment complexes. There is much cost saving during construction to increase profit. Greystar: - PLEASE STOP FORCING CUSTOMERS TO PUT GARBAGE OUTSIDE THEIR DOOR AND CHARGE THEM A NON OPTIONAL FEE. Our second apartment was on the calmer patio area, I REALLY advise you to live in that part of the complex. Overall: - I feel this as a place for people that care more about image/themselves than actually they have taste, or are friendly to others. Although I have pointed out many flaws on this place, I am sure that are many people very happy living there. I also want want to share that I had great times there and many times enjoyed the engagement with the staff. read more

The property is amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the pool area is always clean. The track policy is terrible, the hallways are always dirty, security at night is an issue, and the rent is pretty steep for what you get. This place is absolute garbage. Front desk doesn't know what the hell they're doing and management is clueless. Would not suggest this place to my worst enemy. Update:it's been over three months and these idiots cannot seem to figures out how to get there scamming finance department to pay me back 300 dollars. Y'all, Tree apartments has been such an incredible place for me to call home! Living at Tree is like living at a full-time resort. I'm from out of state and was really nervous moving in not knowing what it would be like, and my expectations were blown out of the water. Everyone who works there from the maintenance staff to the team in the leasing center is beyond nice! They're more than that though. They are empathetic and kind-hearted and really show that they care about you and the community in more ways than one. You always hear those horror stories about how terrible leasing offices are but not at Tree! They are so easy to work with and really showed me how much they cared about me as a resident. On top of that, the building is fabulous! They are always quick to respond to my maintenance requests about a new lightbulb or a paint touch up. I love that the apartment has Amazon lockers for when I get deliveries and the pool is perfect. The gym has cooling towels that are scented after you work up a sweat even! If that isn't your scene, the grounds are so expansive that you can have a chill afternoon in the courtyard with a book or a low key hangout with friends. The long and short of it is that living at Tree has been the best choice I've made when I moved to Austin! I hope that folks who are on the fence maybe or just learning about Tree read this and feel assured that Tree is hands down, a 10/10 place to live at. The location, the safety, the amenities, and the people check all of my boxes and I'm a tough critic! read more

I just recently moved here because this place is way closer to my new job and a friend of mine referred me here. My experience so far living at Tree has been quite pleasant. My favorite thing about living here is the huge parking garage with wide spaces. Most of Austin's parking is narrow and tight where opening your door will hit the other car. Not here. Plus that feeling of opening your car for the first time after sitting out in the Texas heat is no longer there! The front office has a great response time with answering any questions I have. There are plenty of elevators and stairwells to easily navigate the property. SoCo and SoLa are practically next door. There are three breweries, that I know of, literally blocks from Tree. Roll it all together and Tree has a happy tenant. read more

The best part about Tree is their staff. The Leasing Office really goes above and beyond to make sure the residents have what we need. They also make living there a personable experience. They remember details about your life, your pets, etc ... and when requests are made, I have never had to wait long before getting a response. MOST IMPORTANT: When I have needed things fixed in my apartment, I have never waited longer than 24-hours to get it completed. I usually come home and the work has been done. That is always a MAJOR benefit as I am not handy AT ALL and I can rely on their maintenance staff to fix things for me. Tree is a great place to live and to meet other people. Plus, living on top of Porter's is not a bad deal either :) read more

It might be too soon since I haven't even been here a month, but I just moved into a really cute 1 bed/ 1 bath with my amazing boyfriend. Thus far, our experience has been wonderful!! The staff is so helpful at getting things taken care of and helping us get situated. I love that there is a parking garage that is gated for a little extra security. I'm on my third year and personally, never had an issue. Staff is always on top of things and are willing to go out of their way to help solve any problems that may arise. The two issues that I ever saw was dog poop on the floor and a dog park large enough for pooches to run around in. Both were solved. The Mad Pooper moved out and a sizable dog park was made. Some of the complaints on here are probably from people who can't even do their own laundry because they've been fed with a silver spoon their whole life...their only satisfaction in life is to whine about things. I've lived here for 2 years and I have to say the staff is where it's at. Robert the building engineer has helped me countless times and always goes above and beyond. He even helped with some automobile issues I ran into (this isn't even his job)! Britt in the leasing office is also very helpful and demonstrates customer service, but ensuring problems are tackled in a timely manner. The interiors could use a bit of a renovation, but the community environment has kept me here for 2 years. Dealing with the management here is a nightmare. For being a place that advertises itself as a luxury apartment complex, they should be ashamed of their customer service. Those who I have had to deal with have been rude, indirect, and shady. Also, your bike will get stolen here unless you put it away in your apartment or storage. I urged them multiple times in person and via email to do something about the theft and lack of security in the parking garage and back outdoor areas and went thoroughly ignored for the two years I have lived here. For what you're paying, this place is no good; there are plenty of places in the area with just as great of a location and amenities with a better resident experience. read more
