Lindsay Verastegui recently sold my fiancée and I our first home, and made magic happen! Brace yourselves, we had such an amazing experience that this is bound to be a long review!! TLDR; Lindsay is a gem who worked patiently with us to find our perfect first home in this competitive Austin market. She also ended up making a perfect engagement happen when we closed on our house. I could not recommend her enough!! Lindsay was recommended to us by friends, who also could not say enough wonderful things about her. Being first time homebuyers, we had no idea what we were doing. She was extremely patient and explained things in an understandable way. She listened to what we wanted/didn't want without being judgmental. She was realistic about our options without compromising what we wanted in a home, and helped guide us in the right direction when we weren't quite sure about something. The Austin market is competitive, and we did start to feel a bit defeated at times. However, Lindsay was tenacious and encouraged us not to give up or settle for something less than what we wanted (and she was right!). In Austin, if you see a house you like, you have to see it right away because houses go quick. Lindsay worked around our schedule to make things happen fast. She even went and looked at some houses without us and sent us videos when our work schedules conflicted. She's seriously the best! We had looked at several lenders but ended up going with the lender that Lindsay recommended, Russ with Vista Lending (Russ and the whole Vista Lending team were also awesome). Since Lindsay & Russ often work together, it was super easy because Lindsay was able to quickly communicate with Russ when we were wanting to run numbers on a house we were interested in. Once we found our house and the offer had been accepted, Lindsay was with us every step of the way until closing. It was quite nerve wracking, especially because our offer was accepted the week of the Texas winter storms, so we were freaking out a bit about possible damage to the home. Lindsay was on top of it though and stayed in communication with the listing agent the whole time (thankfully the house made out okay). My favorite part of our home buying experience is that during our final walkthrough of the house, my fiancée told Lindsay he wanted to propose at the house. Lindsay went above and beyond to make the moment perfect. She got a photographer, champagne, and arranged for the walkthrough to happen at sunset. And she did it all while keeping the proposal under wraps. It was AWESOME! Needless to say, after our whole experience, Lindsay is now a special person in our lives. I was recently in a very bad spot where I had to find a place on short notice that met very specific criteria- single bedroom, affordable, offered short-term 6-month leases, good, convenient location, and pet friendly. Choosing to move my family and I from California to Austin, the most important thing to me was finding the best school for my daughter. Not knowing Austin, I came here for 1 week in advance of our move to shop schools, find an apartment zoned for the school of my choice and find gainful employment. After apartment hunting more than a month in advance from the end of my current lease, I still hadn't found a place due to the 3 awful apartment locator experiences I had.
