There was 10 of us, but only 4 who drink beer. My sister and I enjoy wine and I spotted this gem right across the street! We split a tasting for $15 and tried 4 samplings of wine. Chardonnay- which wasn't dry enough for my sisters taste, cranberry- we both enjoyed this light wine, blueberry which was lightly sweet and lastly strawberry. The strawberries were harvested from Plant City and this was like summer in a bottle. I picked that one to take home. Even my sister was impressed with this bottle. Cranberry was her favorite. There were a couple other ladies who came in as we were finishing our tasting and they left with several bottles and very happy. I love the shop and I am sure to be back!

Inside is spacious, clean and what's really interesting is that they have informative areas that showcase the distillation process and other fun facts about the distillery! I enjoy coming for their tasting that they offer. While it use to be free of charge local businesses in the area that also had tastings started charging so that makes sense especially with the amount of visitors they get! Luckily it's only $5 dollars and you get a chance to enjoy a variety of their products. There are employees are different stations that give you information on the spirits and mixers they offer while they craft drinks for you to try. Such as a mule with their vodka, a sweet tasting drink with their crafted rum, another with gin and the final stopping point is an old fashioned! If you end up loving any of the drinks, you're able to purchase a bottle there in their gift shop. They also offer to hold any of your purchases for a later pickup time if you don't want to be holding onto your purchase if you're busy visiting and exploring the city. They also provide different paid experiences involving their whiskey. I have yet to try them out but maybe one day I'll make sure to!

It helped that it wasn't crowded at all and our group of 5 were the only ones on the tasting tour at the time. You get to taste 4 different cocktails made with their various products. The first two were decent, with the second being a step up from the first. The third was our favorite by far, a tiki rum cocktail that actually had a really nice flavor to it. The fourth and final one was a straight vodka pour from an older woman at the last station. She told us that good vodka shouldn't taste like nail polish, which is a bold thing to say right before handing someone a sample that tasted pretty much exactly like acetone. A couple of us couldn't even finish it. The staff overall were super friendly though, and it was genuinely cool getting to go behind the scenes and see all the big machinery in the distillery. Now the gift shop at the end is a different story. Everything was overpriced, and their clearance section was almost insulting, with maybe $2 knocked off the regular prices. We won't be buying any of their products, but for $5 the tasting itself was a fun little experience worth checking out if you're in the area.

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. We joked that the cheesecake restaurant was a front for another business because the employees seemed so busy, yet no one was there. We also had to laugh, almost the entire menu was sold out. Every person at our table had to order their 2nd or 3rd backup item, most of us completely changing our order. One in our group had the waiter come back twice to tell us they sold out of his item AS his meal was being made. While the cheesecakes were very good and there was potentially a nice selection, I think this location was a bit too odd to recommend to other diners unless you specifically just want cheesecake. The driver we had, don't know his name, was very informative and funny. He sang along with the songs, shouted out for the kids to find the elfs and we all laughed when he asked us to find the two red lights in the trees and to his surprise they had been turned off. Traffic is horrific and the seats are tight and hard so that was a little uncomfortable but again I am so glad we did this. I would just suggest going before Christmas or the last week. It might not be as crowded. We went the Saturday after Christmas. Not as busy as Dec 1-20th. Also we did the early tour at 6:30 and when we got back the line was crazy long for the other tour times.
