Needed early breakfast on a rainy morning and got the best warm donuts delivered fast and Very fresh using uber eats priority. They truly have the best kolaches! Soft buttery dough! I love when they have extra soft, buttery warm dough with the perfect amount of saltiness. I had to splurge and get a Bavarian cream one too and Ive never had one right when they're made. Such a difference when it's that fresh. They were very fast and my order was here in less than 20 minutes. The driver had a lot to do with it too. But having warn fresh 5am goodies can't be beat when you are hungry after a sleepless night Now I can go to sleep happy!! Side note. No one makes ham and cheese kolaches like them!! Large balls filled with shredded ham and Swiss cheese. So much better than American cheese! I can't eat any others. If you haven't had them they are a must. But the regular sausage and sausage and cheese are A++ too! I recommend the 5am fresh ones. Can't be beat in my opinion! I ate in my dark bedroom so no photos. These donuts are "Maid Fresh", and we decided to stop in here "all of a southern" and were glad that we did. This is a lovely little donut shop making delicious homemade donuts which is exactly what you expect to find in the little back corners of Houston and around this part of Texas. There's a very specific style of donuts down in these parts and they're very sweet and very soft and very delicious. If you haven't tried them before, this is one of several area shops where you could try them. It's also good for kolaches, a Czech type thing, popular in TX and Oklahoma, which are basically somewhat sweet bread filled with spicy sausages. read more

The service is amazing here, they definitely take care of their regulars! All the donuts are fresh and delicious, their cronuts especially are amazing, and the breakfast croissants never miss. The prices are very reasonable, and they have unique donut holes, Asian drinks, and delicious coffee. Never a disappointment, my go to place when I want some breakfast!! I have been going here for 15 years. When my girls were little they loved it. We moved to Huntsville and every time I went to Houston, I went here. Then moved closer in town to the Woodlands and every time I'm on that side of town I stop. I usually call ahead and let them know because we love their Maple glazed donuts and I order them by the dozen. The owner's are very nice and have been there all these years. I tried other Southern Maid's closer to use and it did not taste the same. Great place, friendly, call ahead for big specialized orders read more

I had their piping hot & freshly made plain glazed donuts & it beats Krispy Kreme any day. I felt like Jordan Peele in the "Intercontinental Breakfast" skit on Comedy Central. So many foodgasms while eating a simple glazed donut, that I started tearing up. Now that is one gooooood donut. read more

I got the apple fritter my all time fav & the maple glazed Bavarian cream filled bar. Both a disappointment. Neither was fresh and very little apple taste in the apple fritter big disappointment. The maple bar glaze was runny & all slid off of the bar (sad face)...too many donut shops for me to return to this one...& I LOVE anything sweet...but this wasn't cutting it. read more

We have passed by this place many times and never thought much of it. My Aunt saw it when she was visiting and remembered eating at a Southern Maid Donuts back in the day and was excited we had one close to our house. So, I decided to stop and give them a try and my expectations were far exceeded. Ordered a Croissant, Kolaches, and a taco and they were all very good. Quality ingredients, great bacon, good meat proportions, and not too much cheese. We will definitely be going back. I can't say much about the donuts or selection since we aren't donut people and use the drive-through but the few we have had were good. read more

It would have been four stars, but the boudin kolache was ok. I asked for the one with cheese, but it was more boudin and bread if anything. The breakfast taco was pretty small for the price. The brisket kolache was ok. It felt like it needed a little more sauce or to be a little more moist perhaps? The glazed donuts were ok. I still prefer Shipley's glazed donuts. The best thing out of my whole order was the Café Du Mont ice coffee. It was amazing. Other than that, I think this place is overrated and pretty pricey for some of the kolaches. I would only go to this place for the coffee only. If I go again, maybe I'll try their other donuts. read more

I don't understand how this place has so many stars. Their kolache dough tastes like they put way too many eggs in it or maybe too much egg during the egg wash? The donuts taste like they let them sit in the fryer too long so they're greasy inside. I will say they service was super friendly, but unfortunately I just want some light and airy donuts. read more

Came here one morning to earn some points with the husband and grabbed a kolaches and an Old Fashioned after finding them on Yelp. I must say the ratings are well-deserved! The husband and wife running the place were really nice and the selection provided seemed pretty thorough. Their kolache selection seems fairly broad, from traditional style to poultry options and even boudin kolaches. The price wasn't terrible, and from what I had the The shop itself is fairly nondescript and it can be a little tough to find, but it's definitely worth stopping in for good service and even tastier donuts and kolaches. read more

firstly, the duo running the shop are lovely and are always kind; super nice customer service. secondly, the donut selection is pretty wide, but it usually depends on the day on what's available. they most likely wont have every donut you're looking for. then the kolaches, croissants, etc are honestly really fantastic. a bit on the oilier side, but you can always wash it down with one of the beverages they offer, like a coffee or thai tea or whatever in the fridge. anyway, their donuts and breakfast foods are always a nice treat. read more
