My heart nudged and felt the need to order donuts for our office and I spinned the Yelp wheel to find a good shop near us and boy, Yelp did not disappoint with this one!!! Ordered pick up over the phone and the sweet guy was nervous because I was paying over the phone but he handled things so well! I explained the order was for our office and I've never had their donuts so I was trusting him to throw the good stuff in there so my order consisted of 1 dozen kolaches and 2 dozen donuts. Pick up went smoothly and they even threw in some donut holes...Be still my heart!!! These folks knew the assignment because they even labeled the kolaches and every single thing was devoured and delicious!!! The dough they use for the kolaches is perfect. A little sweet but then the filling gives the savory. I'm very satisfied with this whole experience and we'll definitely be using them again for future orders! read more

Absolutely the best kolache that I've ever had. I never pass up the opportunity to enjoy them whenever I'm in town. I'm living in Pennsylvania and I just had my brother bring me up a couple dozen while he was up here visiting for vacation. Not only do they have excellent kolache's & donuts but they also offer a friendly smile with great customer service. I just wish they had a location near me. I give them a 5 out of 5 star rating. read more

I tried all donut places within 5 miles of my house, this is my favorite. Don't go anywhere else now. Most customers know what they want, I never do and take longer to order. Sometimes the box has extra room then I ask for the same donut I already asked for then I do it again. They are nice to me even when my order doesn't fit in the box or I have 6 little bags and should have started with a box. Or I can't make up my mind and there are 6 people behind me. My family doesn't let me live this one down. Went one Saturday morning and was too sleepy and tired to remember what everyone likes and get a variety of donuts for my 4 kids, so I put in a simple order and got a dozen chocolate round ones, my favorite and a couple fritters. Got home and all hell broke loose. The rest of the family including my better half didn't get their favorite donuts that day but I did. I said I wasn't feeling good but would go cause the kids wanted donuts. Said should have sent your mom who remembers what everyone likes! Still catch grief for that incident. It however, wasn't a total loss, there were a few extras left and I got to eat them the next day! They have the best Apple fritters and all donuts are a 5 star. Kolaches and breakfast sandwiches are 4.5 stars. This place is busy for a reason. read more

Since we moved to the area 4+ years ago we've tried a few different donut shops but S&S is hands down the best in the area. Their Kolaches and Croissants are awesome. Do yourself a favor and try the Boudin kolache or the Ham and swiss croissant. Both are outstanding. Between my wife, daughter and I we've tried most of the the donuts, kolaches and croissants they have and are still waiting to come across one that isn't excellent. read more

The customer service right off the bat was amazing! The person who served me was so kind and helpful! We tried the sausage croissant, the Boudin and cheese kolache, and the glazed blueberry cake doughnut. Everything was good! I've never had Boudin with cheese Before and it's pretty good! Super tasty donuts and kolaches with some of the friendliest service you'll ever find!! Very clean establishment who offers consistency in their product and service. Affordable too! Also, shout out to Lee who goes out of his way to remember customer names! I don't consider myself a "regular" (because my waistline wouldn't approve), but come in occasionally (once a month or every couple of months) when I have guests in town or to grab a box for the office. I decided to swing by before heading to work on a Saturday morning. When you're working over the weekend, donuts are a necessity! I always pass by S&S on my way to work and have always wanted to give it a try. I skimmed the reviews on yelp and was pleased with the great reviews! I stopped in for a dozen donuts, and the gentleman at the counter was very patient with me, even though there was a line behind me and I changed my mind about 4 times. I only got to try the original cake donut, but I thought it was perfect, and I heard nothing but rave reviews from my coworkers. I've been going to S&S for over 15 years. I know, I'm a fat kid at heart. They've evolved over the years but only for the better. Even though I miss their original location, (purely for nostalgic reasons) their new location is easier to get to and from given where my parents live. They also used to supply donuts to St. Max so after mass, I would always look forward to my glazed donut. Ah, memories...:) Needless to say, I HAVE to hit up S&S whenever I'm in the area. They have this amaze-balls croissant kolache that I haven't ever been able to find anywhere else. IT IS SO GOOD! Crispy crust, flavorful sausage and just the right amount of cheese makes it hands down one of the best things ever. I've tried to recreate the item at home with Pillsbury dough, but my attempts have been futile at best. Other notable items include chocolate sprinkle donuts (which my nieces go crazy for) as well as the maple bacon donut. I seriously always look forward to going to S&S even if I have to spend a few extra days at the gym! read more

IMPRESSED!! I showed up at 5am. Most shops have day old stuff. Not this place! They were fresh, warm and delicious. I watched as the gentleman put on gloves to retrieve my donuts then change them to take my form of payment! Wow!! First person I have seen do that. It was super clean. A+++ for this little shop. I love this donut shop. I try to come here whenever I have a chance. I have been eating donuts from here since 2011. A coworker of mine who lives in the area would bring them down to our work in West U. When I moved to the area, I started getting breakfast here. The kolaches are delicious but the best thing is by far the filled donuts. It is also a family owned place which I really like as well! read more

This is by far the best donut shop in the city. I have been coming here for over 15 years and it has never lacked in quality. I'm all grown up now and have moved away, but anytime I am in Houston, I always make a stop here. Mr. Lee and his family are so incredibly sweet and know how to make a kolache and donut. Excellent neighborhood shop - in the center where Randalls was located - end cap space closet to Jones Rd - everything is very well prepared - Kolaches (good variety), croissant sandwiches, donuts. I don't eat donuts really, but I can certainly vouch for their cheese/sausage "kolaches" (in the most Texan sense of the word). Soft bread, deliciousness throughout. Clean, quick service. (I've never been present during peak hours though.)Also, one quirky tidbit: the first few times I visited, they kept diet cherry Coke stocked in their cooler. read more

Went there 3x usually around 10am and there were slim pickings.... Glazed and donut holes. Time before that I got there at 7am and there was definitely a selection. my god the icing on the donuts are amazing and definitely uses bread made from scratch I just wish they would make enough to last until 10 read more

I went there at 6 in the morning and nothing was fresh. Tasted extremely gross. The customer service was lacking. Not very friendly. I was required to spend a minimum of 5 dollars on my card. So I purchase extra nasty donuts and a drink. My coworkers weren't impressed either. Your better off eating a pop tart. read more

AMAZING customer service and good food too! I stopped in today for the first time to grab a kolache and from the moment I walked in, they were friendly and helpful. They didn't have the croissant I wanted so they made one for me!! How sweet is that? And I dropped my debit card on the freshly mopped floor and they insisted on drying it off for me. Kolache - Got the plain sausage one and it was nothing special. The sausage tasted like a breakfast sausage you'd get from a complementary breakfast at a hotel and then wrapped in bread. Would not get again. Americano - Pretty good, went well with the sweets. Overall not bad but I feel like we've had better donuts elsewhere. The fragrance in the glaze was off putting though and that made me quite disappointed.
