Pumpkin spice and sugar mini cookies
Mel Z.

We were doing a Wine Walk and the store was participating and decided to check it out. We were not only greeted with a nice cocktail sample but the girl (not sure if she was the owner) that greeted us was nice, friendly, attentive and more than happy to answer any questions. The store is cute and they mostly focus in custom orders but there is a counter with cookies that you can buy from. We got the sugar cookies and the seasonal pumpkin spice and that was my favorite! It was soft, not overly sweet and you could taste both the pumpkin and delicious spices. Stop for sure and see the gorgeous cookies and satisfy a sweet tooth :)

Sugar Cookies

Purchased 60 sugar cookies for an afternoon tea event. They made sunflowers, teapots, teacups and tulips. They were all stunning! Everyone absolutely loved not only how pretty they were but how amazingly moist and delicious!! I had shopped other bakeries in The Villages area as well and they wanted to charge me over $100 MORE than Southern Home Bakery (in Winter Garden). Totally worth purchasing!! Everyone was incredibly professional, friendly and helpful. TRULY A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT SOUTHERN HOME BAKERY IN WINTER GARDEN!!

Had a special order made for my friends baby shower and they were amazing!! Sent them pictures of the baby theme and was easily able to schedule for pickup ( they do offer delivery). Custom cookies were a little more expensive than other locations but definitely worth it! Not only did they taste amazing, but the box and how they were wrapped was perfect for an occasion and was very COVID friendly. I honestly haven't looked at their main menu but will def stop by for future events!

I love this cute little bakery in the heart of college park! I actually started following southern home bakery on Instagram years ago before they officially opened a store. I was mesmerized by how skilled the artistic bakers were in their designs. The owner and bakery staff are super sweet and helpful. I just stopped into the new shop for the first time today and picked up 10 cute premade decorated Christmas cookies. The cookies are pretty big and are around $5-$6 per cookie. First and foremost, of all the decorated sugar cookie companies around Orlando, southern home bakery is the most skilled in terms of artistry (in my opinion). The cookies also taste delicious too, not chalky and bland like some others. I love that they have premade cookies to go! I'm a last minute kind of person, so this helps make it look like I actually planned ahead when I gift these to people lol Additionally, they also sell really cute bakery items and gift sets! Lastly, they have an "oopsie" pile of cookies that honestly look perfect but have an imperfection (design flaw, icing flaw, spelling error, etc.) that they sell for $2! I love this, as I can grab a blank cookie and let my kids draw on it with icing pens. Glad they opened a live shop! Highly recommend!

So thankful that I found this little cute cookie shop in college park. All of their cookie designs are perfectly handmade and fresh. The ladies are super nice and packaged everything with care. Pricing for each cookie ranges but mine were $5 a piece. It's a little pricey for a sugar cookie BUT you're paying for the quality and skill that this team has. So if you're looking for something to be absolutely perfect for a gift or event then you should come here. Also, I will add that their sugar cookies are not that chalky texture that you normally see in a sugar cookie. They do have a lot of icing because of each design but it's not a "frosted" type of cookie either. Hope this makes sense! Lol

if you need custom cookies, look no further! This is the best bakery! It is woman owned and operated. These cookies not only look incredible but they actually taste delicious. Most designer sugar cookies do not actually taste good but these are so yummy!

Adorable cookies! I don't know how else to compliment this store more - designs are so cute, and they're tasty too. The storefront is also a nice stop for a quick treat and something fun :)

Our employer had custom cookies made for a work event. These are a solidly horrible. Instead of being bakery style they are more like something you would buy that's individually packaged in a grocery store. Dry, zero flavor, the frosting leaves an oily film in your mouth. They would probably last forever.

This place used to be called Cookie Cousins, but is now called Southern Home Bakery. Same great cookies, but different name. Truthfully, I am not really a cookie person, but my wife loves these sugar cookies that are frosted with the cutest designs. They really do a great job and always have a cute variety. The cookies are not exactly inexpensive, but they are good. If you love cookies, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by this place.

This was a surprise find that we discovered after visiting St Nick's Holiday Shoppe next door. We walked in and the cookies displayed in the cases are works of art cut out cookies themed for the Fall, Christmas and just for fun. All of the cut outs are individually wrapped in clear packaging. These are hand decorated and artist quality yet still priced to easily afford. They also had several different flavors of non cut outs and today we tried pumpkin cookies, snickerdoodles and three different cot out cookies. The staff if friendly and helpful and we recommend this as a great place to visit

Cookie Cousins; I've never before heard of this place, we just happened to stumble upon it while trying to walk off our dinner in the Edgewater area. Off the bat it seems like more of a place you'd think about if you were planning to do a bake day with friends and needed a location to cater to that. They have a cute kitchen play area for kids, and some other kid stuff that makes me think that again; great place for kids activities to get them interested in baking at an early age, but not so much a place to stop by for confections. When you get down to the actual cookie, I think $2 is a bit steep for a simple cookie. It's not especially large or doesn't have anything in particular that warrants the price tag in my opinion. It's true that there are some cookies in the case (which may or may not be more expensive than the plain cookies; I don't know, I didn't ask) with artistic designs and they do stand out and look very beautiful, but I would say it's more decorative than for actually eating, like if you were having a party and wanted to give your guests a pretty treat. I left feeling like Cookie Cousins is more of a special events kind of place rather than a go to for baked goods.

I came across this little cookie shop about a year ago when I had an appointment in the area. It was one of those days where I was craving sweets and decided to check out Cookie Cousins. It was during fall and I noticed immediately they had a pumpkin flavored cookie. I LOVE pumpkin so I decided to try it out. And OMG that cookie didn't even last that long. Ever since I have been waiting for the pumpkin cookie to come back like I am waiting for the pumpkin spice latte to return at Starbucks lol. I recently went by a purchased some pumpkin cookies and they still have the same amazing taste. I have tried the other flavors but nothing really compares to this particular one.

They definitely know how to create a romantic mood and atmosphere. We got the "Easter special" which I would skip I think. Best part was the meringue raspberry cookie but everything was just fine. Also seemed much more themed to Valentine's Day than Easter. Now the "Fourgasm" sampler is great. You start off with a cheesecake, then get to a caramelized carrot cake, followed by some kind of chocolate cake/pie and finish it off with a red velvet cake. The desserts get better and better as you eat them (if you start off with the cheesecake which they recommend) I also got the "Sex-spresso Martini" and that was delicious too. But I've never met an espresso martini I didn't like. One of my favorite parts is giggling at the ridiculousness of the names and descriptions of each item. You can tell they really had fun writing them.

From the top of the swirl to the very bottom of the inside of my cone, there was not a single air pocket to be found. I got the chocolate flavored ice cream, and every bite was chocolatey and creamy heaven. Now, if you know your desserts, the cone that is used is usually known as a chimney cake. It is a sweet pastry that is soft on the inside and has a glass-like crunchy exterior that is coated with cinnamon and sugar. It's a little like eating a cruffin, but with a crunchier exterior due to their special way of making it. Definitely worth trying at least once if you've never tried it before. Overall, if you're looking to impress a foodie with something sweet, decadent, and pretty, I'd say give this place a go. The ice cream is as perfect and delicious as you see it.
