I met auntie and she is loaded up with delicious looking desserts...meringues, cookies, cookie sandwiches, white chocolate delights, pies, cakes, brownies, and more! She makes them fresh in the morning and makes custom cakes as well. I got some meringues, decorated gingerbread men, and Christmas tree brownies. Last time I passed this place, I put it on my need to visit list. We made it there right before closing and made some quick choices that turned out soooo good! Got a butterscotch cookie that had the right amount of chewy to it and a good array of flavors. Could have eaten 3 or 4 of them. Had to get the Reeces bar and it is way better than the real think. The peanut butter part is smooth and creamy with the right amount of PB taste. The chocolate is good quality and makes the whole thing addicting. Seriously, I want more of these. We also tried the cake cups. I got a vanilla cake with a chocolate buttercream frosting that was a little bit salted. This stuff was good! This is one of those rare bakery places that really knows what they're doing and provides good quality bakery items. read more

A tiny little place located right on the corner of Main St. and 441 in downtown Apopka, this bakery is the epitome of small business. They have an assortment of baked goods there daily, and it can vary depending on the day what you might find. I have seen a variety of macarons, cookies, meringues, brownies, just about anything. Sometimes they make cinnamon rolls, those are fantastic. Outside of the general baked good, they make custom cakes here. If you peruse their Facebook page, you will find a ton of examples of stuff they have made. All of it looks pretty amazing, good fondant work (if that is your thing), and if it tastes as good as their baked goods, I'm certain it would be a hit at a party. If you are in Apopka, give this place a try, it is well worth blowing the diet for a day. read more

My first time ordering from Aunt Gingibreads Bakery. My son wanted a specific cake which I wasn't sure I could find. A sponge bob 25th birthday cake. I saw a posting on Facebook about this bakery. So I decided to go and check out the bakery. I went about a month in advance in the event I couldn't get it there. I walked in a nice homey family style bakery. the gentleman at the counter was informative and took the order said they would email me with the specific questions on the details on the cake. I provided the picture of what I wanted via email then they sent me an Invoice confirming date of pick up and price. Very professional. The cake was awesome! it was art, exactly what he wanted and it was delicious. Everyone at his party admired it and enjoyed it. I moved to Apopka so of course I need to check out all the bakeries. Cakes, sweets, and cereal bars. This is not a bread bakery. I didn't get a chance to try any savory pies. Things I tried: brownie, cereal bars, birthday cake cup. Cake cups are from the cake discards and are amazing. Cereal bars are like Rice Krispie bars but so much much better, big variety and fun colors. I will return, only downside is parking, It's weird and difficult. I guess park in the municipal lot instead of their small odd lot. read more

I am mixed on my review. I visited yesterday to try some of their baked goods after waiting weeks to try them out... I came mainly for the cheddar bacon black pepper biscuits, candied bacon, scones, and oatmeal cream pies. I didn't end up getting any scones or candied bacon. But I got the biscuits and the oatmeal cream pies. The scones looked a little off, so I decided to pass on them. First off, the cheddar bacon black pepper biscuits were great, moist, salty and tasty. The oatmeal cream pies were moist and chewy, but I couldn't get over the strong molasses flavor coming from the icing, and a little bit of molasses from the cookie itself - all I could taste was molasses, and I was not a huge fan, I would not get them again. The service was kinda funny. I agree with some of the other reviewers that I didn't receive a warm hello or greeting. The service was cold and I felt like we were interrupting them when we walked in. I may come back and give them another try, but I am not overly anxious to do that. read more

Aunt Gingibread's Bakery is the cutest and most delicious little hidden gem that I have come across in a long time. Being a huge fan of bakeries I am not sure how I have missed this place. I was so impressed with the hometown feel of the bakery and the warm reception of the owner. This bakery specializes in making beautiful custom cakes, special occasion cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bread and much more. I purchased a loaf of bread, a cookie sandwich and a brownie & cookie sandwich. The bread was deliciously soft and crusty. It was tasty enough not to have seen the light of the next day. The cookies disappeared very quickly and what was left in their place was a desire for more. Great local business! They have great baked goods ranging from grab and go cookies to custom ordered cakes. I bought assorted cookies and a key lime pie to take to a party. The pie was a hit and you could tell it was fresh and homemade. They have a limited selection of already prepared bakery items, likely due to their small location. But you can place an order in advance. They are a little hard to locate and have limited parking, on the corner of 436 and Park in Apopka. The building is shared with a security company adjacent to town hall. read more

On my way to the Apopka Foliage and Art Festival I spotted a sign advertising Margarita cupcakes and I decided to stop by afterwards. Small cute bakery with a small counter displaying some baked goods. There was not that many cupcakes displayed but the attendant made me aware of cupcakes flavors that he could make on the spot..including the Margarita. So I ordered the Margarita and the Banana pudding...Both excellent choices. The banana pudding was very delicious, super moist and flavorsome. My favorite the Margarita cupcake full of flavors...the icing was a light bitter-sweet lime taste, the cake was moist, fluffy and succulent with a serious kick of tequila...Yummy!!! This place is legit!! I've been meaning to stop by and I'm so glad I did. I ordered about 6 different goodies and they were all . My son had a chocolate chip cookie sandwich and said it was the best dessert he'd ever had....and he's had a lot of desserts. Everything was fresh, flavorful and had perfect texture. I absolutely adore this bakery. It's in the cutest brick building so it was an automatic eye catcher. The staff were so friendly and helpful when I mentioned I hadn't been there before and wasn't sure what I wanted. I ended up with a chocolate silk pie which exceeded my expectations. They also make the most beautiful and unique cakes for all occasions. Everything about this little bakery made me feel like I was in a novel featuring a small town. Omg! Best cake ever! My boyfriend's birthday was this past Saturday and I wanted to give him a cake he'd never forget. I got a recommendation for this bakery from a friend. I called them a week before, after my original baker feel through, and Jenny said no problem! I sent over some pics of what I was looking for, and boy oh boy did she deliver!! It was so perfect! The cake itself was simple. I picked out a chocolate cake with buttercream filling. It was tasty! The best part was the shape. Don't get me wrong this is a great little bakery with excellent goodies. That is what brings me back from time to time. What I struggle with is the customer service. There are no signs saying what everything is or prices. That would be fine if someone would explain how the shop works or what everything is. Every time I'm in there its like pulling teeth to get any information. I continuously have to ask what flavors everything is and how much it is! I was excited when I heard that there was a bakery in Apopka. I tried Aunt Gingibread's Bakery about 5 times. I have to say that it is okay, not the best nor the worst. The macarons are good, but when I ordered them, they generally lacked flavor or were not super fresh. Aunt Gingibread was in the bakery every time I visited, but she never greets anyone. I know she working hard back there, but it would be nice to hear a warm "Hello" from her sometimes. read more

Apopka has been in great need of a bakery. So I was very glad to try this particular Bakery. Whenever I try a bakery I always get a vanilla cupcake. It is difficult to hide behind a vanilla cupcake. The cupcake was moist and the icing had a smidge of almond flavoring. It was a nice cupcake. I will definitely come here again. they have mistake cupcakes for $2 and there real cupcakes are $2. Now $2 is not a bad price but I'm surprised that the perfect cupcakes and the mistakes are the same price. Like I said I will come here again and I want to try some new things. read more
