The friend I was meeting with pulls up to cowboy chicken as well and decides to walk inside. She said it's like a ghost kitchen which you have to order online to get the food. Very confusing for customers like me who I turned back around. I don't think it took more than 30 min to get the food after ordering. The inside is a spaced out seating along the walls of the restaurant. Small intimate setting, casual. Good enough for my friend and I to catch up. However, despite the misunderstandings, food was yummy. I liked the fries. I got the big bird sandwich. Double the chicken patties. I got the 3rd level which is not the highest but probably the good smack. It was a good starting level for me. I could try the highest spice level next time if I'm ever going out this far again. I ordered jalapeño ketchup but either they gave me regular ketchup or there was no difference at all. Overall worth a try. I paid about $13 for the meal which isn't so bad when trying to be on a budget.

Today we had the opportunity to try their delicious food! They came in to UP and we are happy to say that the quality and taste of their butterfly fried shrimp basket and fried catfish fillet basket were very tasty. They serve the baskets with French fries, hush puppies and their tarter house recipe. The taste of both the fish and shrimp are nice, I didn't even need to use lemon juice. Their batter is quite nice crunch texture and flavor are up to snuff. I have to also rave about their AMAZING hot and tasty hush puppies, they are so good, now you know if their hush puppies are good, then the rest will be very good! The only reason I am not giving the extra star to top them at 5, is for two reasons. First reason is they were late. We had to wait outside the cold windy elements while they got their dryers up and running. And the second reason is, their French fries were a little on the stale side. They were not all fresh, i could almost say they were either undercooked or frozen and processed. Other than those two reasons, this will definitely be a repeat. I just do ask of them to be courteous with their time and scheduling when they come up to our neighborhood. I'm greeted as soon as I walk in, and I've rarely had to wait for my food unless it's peak crawfish season, football season, or they have a guest DJ performing. The staff always keeps things moving, even when they're busy. The only downside for me has been the noticeable sewer like smell inside the restaurant. It can be a little distracting and uncomfortable while you're trying to enjoy your meal, and it's something I've experienced on more than one visit. Now for the food. The charbroiled oysters are the reason I keep coming back. They're grilled to perfection every single time. The oysters stay tender and juicy never rubbery or overcooked and they're served with lightly toasted French bread and fresh lemon wedges that pair perfectly with all that buttery, seasoned goodness. The crawfish is another standout. The flavor reminds me a lot of the crawfish you'd find at the Blue Store in New Orleans iykyk. You can tell they're using more than just Old Bay because the seasoning has depth and a great balance of spices without being overwhelming. Even better, the crawfish are soaked in the seasoning instead of just being sprinkled on the shells, so every bite is flavorful from the inside out. My only disappointment this visit was the catfish po'boy. Unfortunately, the fish tasted more like whiting than catfish. While it was fried well and dressed perfectly with all the right toppings, the fish itself had a very basic flavor that mostly tasted like seasoned cornmeal. I was hoping for a true catfish fillet with more Cajun seasoning and a little more personality. Overall, Tasty Tails continues to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The charbroiled oysters and crawfish alone are worth the visit, and the friendly service keeps me coming back. If they can address the odor inside the restaurant and improve the po'boy, this place would be even harder to beat.
