Prompt quote response from my original posting via Yelp. They called me to schedule immediately after agreeing to contract the work out. The electrician, Romeo was very friendly, on time, and knew what he was doing. All I really can say is that Southern Electrical Services will be our 'Go To' electrician provider in the future. Next project I want completed is to have recessed lighting installed in our living room and basement. If you're looking for a reliable electrician provider utilize them. Work performed: Master bedroom ceiling fan replacement/installation as well as laundry closet light fixture replacement and switch replacement. read more

Contacted to have a circuit ran in the home. Paid deposit (~$650). Called to have scheduled. "We can't yet, need to handle permit" Contacted code enforcement officer for county, got a green light and copy of permit. 2 days later. Contacted southern electric again, "we can't yet, need to handle permit" Contacted Permit office. "All they need to do is pay" Odd. What's the hold up? Time is money. Asked for refund. Get the permit yourself ($25) and call Logan electric or chancellor. A shame I can move faster. read more

I had a couple of "smart" light switches that I had installed myself. They weren't quite working correctly and Southern Electrical was able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue. They were available next day and the technician was professional and friendly, which I always appreciate. Thanks! read more

Garage wired but now all outlets have failed. This company installed electical service and a breaker box in my external gsrage but within a few months ALL the outlets they installed have failed, one after another. The cheap, plastic outlets and fixtures they used were the cause. The company wouldn't honor their warranty. read more

They provided cost-effective solutions for my electrical upgrades without compromising on quality. Their transparent pricing and exceptional service make them a go-to choice for all electrical needs!!! read more

Was in the market to hire a electrician to wire my hotub and this electrician never showed up. After I was waiting for my appointment, I called and they gave me some excuse about their scheduling mix up. They rescheduled and came in double the cost of other electrical providers. I already had my building permit, and let them know but they still continued to try to charge me for this. Weeks later after I let them know if this twice they still provided the same estimate. Very poor service from the start and I would avoid this company. read more

Wanted 3 ceiling fans installed and my kitchen lights replaced. Called Southern Electrical and got an appointment for 2 days later. Vinny was my tech and, throughout the job, he was very professional, efficient and thoughtful. He took care to ask questions so that everything was exactly right and how I wanted it. And, exactly right it was. The work he did was exemplary. And, he was super nice, offering to dispose of the boxes and clean up (not that there was much to clean at all; he put booties on his shoes and always put down cloth where he worked to catch everything). Definitely going back to them the next time I need something done! read more

Romeo was fantastic in identifying the problem and fixing it and was in and out pretty fast. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for electrical issues/service. McKenzie was great in scheduling a next day appointment. I will contact them again in future for anything electrical related. read more

Called twice, used their email form, and crickets for six days. I just need a dryer outlet changed. Must be too small of a job for them. Guess I'm never calling them again. read more

Recently had a junction box and light fixture installed. Derek, the owner, was very responsive and accommodating to my schedule and was able to get a technician to my location with haste. I wish I could remember the name of the tech who serviced my request, but he was very respectful and diligent. He was able to correct the shortcuts the previous owner of my home left. I would definitely recommend SES Co and will be doing business with them again in the future. read more

Had an outside outlet that wasn't working, a wire that was left hot sticking out of a wall and an exhaust fan we weren't using anymore that needed to be removed and capped off at a junction box. Called on a Thursday and job was completed Friday. Licensed, insured and work done to code! Thanks:) read more

they charged $165 for about 30 minutes of NO investigation to basically tell me they couldn't fix the problem. Not very helpful

Five Stars for Southern Electrical. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend Southern Electrical Service Co. A couple of hours after I submitted an estimate request, I received a call from Southern Electrical and had a representative in my house the same day for an estimate. Staff was friendly and very professional. The technicians that performed the work were courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. They took time to explain the entire process. The end result was spectacular. We will be calling Southern Electrical for all of our Electrical needs in the future. read more

I had a light which kept tripping a breaker. I had never called an electrician before so some of the quotes were really high. Derek gave a great price and also gave $25 off on that price. Randy came over and solved the problem in under 30 mins. I'd definitely go with them again! read more

We had an after hours issue - lost power in a portion of our house- that was quickly addressed with professionalism. We found Southern via a google search for our area and called because it offered 24 hour service. Our call was answered by an answering service but we received a call back from the company fairly quickly. On the call we were walked through some possible solutions or causes. After spending 10-15 minutes on the phone, an on call technician was dispatched to our house and we saw him within an hour. He was friendly and quickly got to work. Our lights were back on shortly thereafter. We were really pleased with how it all worked out! read more

This company installed electric outlets in my house using inferior products. After a few months the outlets stopped working because of defects. But this company will not back up their work or honor their warranty. I regret that I didn't use a more reliable electric company. read more

I have had multiple excellent experiences with Southern Electrical and would recommend them to anyone needing electrical services in the Northern VA area. I came across them because the previous owners of my home hired them to address with some electrical issues that were discovered during the home inspection when we were buying the house. Southern did a nice job with that work, so I decided to call them up when I needed some lamp sconces wired and installed as part of a living room remodeling project. Again, they did a fantastic job (unfortunately don't remember the names of the specific electricians that did the work but they were great). Most recently, they sent Mark to help replace about 20 receptacles/outlets which had become loose over the years and wouldn't hold plugs anymore. Once more, the work was done professionally, within a reasonable price and time frame. Brandon is always helpful with quotes/estimates and Erica is always friendly and professional with scheduling. Again, Southern is top notch and you should definitely check them out if you need electrical work performed. read more

These guys really left us on a lurch. Contacted them on a Friday about having someone come out and replace a circuit breaker in the CB panel. Pretty simple. Was told that someone would contact me Friday afternoon or Monday morning and come out and take care it. Got an e-mail Monday that they would come out for an ESTIMATE but the work won't be done till later ... some undefined later. It I wanted an estimate, I would have asked for one ... I need an electrician! Why would anyone use these people! read more

Called at 3:00 and had an electrician at my house by 3:30! The customer service agent that answered the phone was caring, friendly and professional. My electrician, Kevin, was great, fast and professional. He was friendly and knew EXACTLY what he was doing. My house wasn't up to code but Kevin fixed the problem quickly and made sure everything was safe. Southern Electrical will be my "GO TO" from now on for any household electrical needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

Excellent service--I got a call back right away and they were very helpful. It wasn't an emergency but they sent a supervisor to inspect the next day, and then came the day after to install two outdoors outlets. They were fast and couldn't have been more polite or helpful. It was the best experience I've ever had with an electrical company in Loudoun County. I'd call them again in a minute. Big thanks to Benny and Jose. read more

I called Southern Electrical Service and spoke with Pam about the electrical work I needed. My basement had been finished poorly by my ex-husband and it wasn't up to code. Pam understood my problem and helped me work with Southern Electrical to fix a variety of electrical issues. They handled this difficult job with ease, even though they had to work in areas that were hard to access - since the drywall was already in place. To make my basement safe and bring it up to Loudoun County code standards, Southern Electrical had to find a way to create access to the door bell transformer box, fix an overloaded light switch, add plugs to walls, make existing plugs tamper resistant - and these are just a few of the many items they had to fix. They accomplished all of this in just two visits and my basement should now pass inspection with flying colors. The Southern Electrical staff are professional and dedicated to satisfying customer needs. I highly recommend them. read more
