I found the same item from a different supplier for less, with free shipping & ordered with them after your email. The product DID in fact fit... my assumption that a 6" downlight is in fact 6" was right. Just because items are not from the exact same manufacturer doesn't define a yes or no compatibility. Part of the reason I wanted to see the item in store & put my hands on it. I could have done this with an in-store pickup and saved both us us time. I was looking for a very specific electrical switch wall plate - one that would accommodate three light switches and one electrical outlet - in a brushed nickel finish. I had already struck out at Lowes, The Home Depot, and Dominion Electric, so when Dulles Electric was recommended, I called ahead. To my surprise and delight - the guy who I talked with on the phone stated they did indeed have that wall plate. So I asked them to hold it and I headed over. They wanted $13 and change for the wall plate - which was considerable more affordable than a couple of places I had found on the internet that wanted $28 and $60 respectively for the same piece of hardware. I wish I had read the yelp review regarding Will beforehand. If I wanted DYI treatment I would have gone to Home Depot. Stopped in to look at lamps for a master bedroom. When I walked in the showroom, I realized I had already seen many of the items online at Wayfair and Lamps Plus, but I liked the convenience of buying onsite. When I asked about the maximum wattage on one lamp, a salesman told me that it is 40 watts. My minimum requirement, I told him, is 60 watts. He told me that a 40 watt bulb, depending on the type, would be the same as 75 watts. I said no thank you, but asked that we talk about other items on the floor as I began to describe the room I was trying to light. He told me to try Wal-Mart or Target. Well, I was planning on spending a bit more, but okay. As we start our home remodel, I guess I know that this company does not want my business. Thank you for making that clear and saving me time. If only the big box stores knew how supportive your staff is in sending business to them. read more

On 08/04/17 We purchased 3 fans to use for a home renovation in Warrenton. Two were in stock and the third was ordered and we picked up. The fans were turned over to our builder and he installed all but one because it was missing a light kit! When my husband went out to house he found that the fans were all different! Only one was what appeared on box and only one was what we ordered! On Monday I will contact Dulles Electric to find out how we can resolve, as it stands now our electrician will be charging for an additional service call to hang fan that was missing light kit and to remove incorrect fan! Horrible experience and not at all what I expected from a high end company! read more

They are technically a small business but they have the look of a business with 20 locations but the attitude and feel of a mom and pop.... And that's a good thing!! I am gradually replacing all the standard 1980's light fixtures in my home. My contractor recommended Dulles Electric. So today, a Saturday afternoon, I headed over. They have an amazing selection! I was pretty overwhelmed but within a few moments a sales associate found me. He listened closely to what I was looking for and hit the nail right on the head. Geez what a waste of time. I'm building a house and needed to buy electrical fixtures throughout. I called and left a message with a woman for Bill (a designer). After a week I never received a call back so I left a message with the secretary. After 4 days I didn't hear back so I called again and got someone to transfer me to Bills voicemail. FINALLY I got a call back and scheduled an appointment. I'm not sure if Bill never received the messages I left with his colleagues or he just never returned the call. Regardless it was frustrating. The day of my appointment, I drove 45 minutes there and the appointment last about 20 minutes. I had an idea of what I wanted in the foyer and he showed me one option. That was it. One option. Left very disappointed. Not only did I try for over 2 weeks to get an appointment but once I did it was a complete waste of time. I've had several appointments at lighting showrooms and all but this one were very productive this stands out from the others because it did not help what so ever. This is textbook poor customer service and I will be spending my money elsewhere. read more

I went in Saturday of 4th of July weekend to look at ceiling fans with my boyfriend. There were plenty of people on staff with little to no customers. We were greeted upon entering and directed towards the ceiling fans, this is where our customer service experience ended. We were not asked once by the 7+ staff members if we were doing okay, needed any help, etc. We walked around for about 10 minutes and had to help ourselves to the ceiling fan catalogs behind an unattended desk. We finally got fed up and decided to leave. Not only was every desk left unattended (including the front desk where customers would usually be greeted) but every employee there seemed to be having a grand time in a room off to the side talking and laughing amongst themselves. Needless to say, my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed and will be taking our business elsewhere. read more
