Felt like some food and ran into this place. It's kinda tucked away so you gotta look over to find it. Walk in and over to you left and it's inside a small building. We were greeted by a waitress and found a table. I ended up ordering a catfish with Mac n cheese and a side of red beans n rice. Catfish was good....Mac N Cheese was good...Red Beans N Rice was good. Even the Strawberry Lemonade was good. I was told the Strawberry Pancakes were good too. If you feel like some soul food swing on by.

The food is really worth it and it was quite quick. The chef himself came out to ask if everything tasted well and it was an older diner vibe inside which is awesome and what we needed in the area. The portions are real great as well and their biscuits come with I think in house jam. They'll be seeing us around again!

I ordered the Burritos Nortenos with bistec, and it was incredible. I don't see norteno-style burritos on menus very often, but I love what they do with them and it seems very authentic. They're smaller than a standard burrito, making them way less heavy and far less of a giant commitment - almost like a cross between a taco and a burrito, and without filler rice, just a small smear of refried beans, delicious sautéed veggies, and incredible steak. The sliced beef was buttery, juicy, tender, perfectly charred, and packed with flavor. The burrito had a nice little kick to it from the green long peppers, though easy to take some out if you prefer a bit less heat. I really loved it paired with the green chile salsa. On top of that, the free salsa and condiment bar is unreal! They offer hot bar potatoes, roasted jalapeños, and grilled and roasted onions. Plus, they have many different types of salsas, each distinct, incredibly flavorful, and ranging from deep, earthy profiles to fresh, herb-forward blends. Very generous offerings. To top it off, the service was super friendly - they even brought out a complimentary basket of warm, puffy cinnamon-sugar bunuelos! I'm so glad I gave them a try. I will definitely be back to try the other burritos nortenos.

Upon entering we were greeted by a gracious hostess, Sheeta. She was very welcoming, patient and kind while seating us. Jenn and I were seated and placed our beverage orders with Sheeta. I wanted to try their bloody mary; I've never had one...and, after that one, I don't plan on having another ever! It's really not a drink flavor genre I'm partial to. Our waitress Shelly took our order, I can honestly say I've absofreakinlutely had better customer service. Jenn ordered biscuits and gravy and an order of country fried steak and eggs to go. Once she stated her request Shelly asked for her order specifics in a stem quiz like manner. That threw me off so when she turned to me I said "Gimme a minute so I can study for the quiz!" I thought it was funny, so did Jenn...Shelly simply walked away. Eventually she returned and I ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with country style potatoes. My platter wasn't eat-worthy in my most honest, humble opinion and I did try to doctor it up a bit but there's only so much you can do in critical condition. The potatoes were hit and miss...literally; one bite of potato would be just right and the next bite would be luke warm or not fully cooked through. I'm addition I was going to pick between hotcakes and french toast, after choosing between country potatoes or hash browns for my burrito dish she said thanks and swiftly walked away. She remained short with us. I observed Shelly interacting with her other guests and she was very personable, polite and eager to recommend dishes...stark reality: everyone else in the restaurant was white with the acception of another interracial couple and the awesome hostess. I believe they received the same short sited service we got! It was a disgusting exhibit of 2 faces in 1 person. Jenn's biscuits and gravy showed up 1st. She took a bite then asked me to taste it, with a sour look...which made me say 'no thank you' right off the bat! She said the gravy was bland and didn't really taste like gravy...she added salt and pepper, a lot of pepper. Then the country fried steak and eggs arrived and the steak had too much breading with no real flavor or seasoning to the steak, it made the whole entree taste like "mush," she explained. The eggs would've been ok if they hadn't had the gravy on them. While we were attempting to eat either dish at our table my breakfast burrito arrived and...I was abundantly underwhelmed. It was 'cakey' and dry and after mixing the sour cream, salt and pepper into the pico de gallo, the burrito still had no real taste context...not even breakfast, much less a breakfast in Mexico! The next day I tried to doctor up the burrito to no avail...it was no use. I won't be back; Egregious Epic Fail!

Nothing says "great workout" quite like immediately replacing every calorie you just burned with one of Bakery Nouveau's twice-baked chocolate croissants. The pastries are buttery, flaky, and somehow manage to ruin every grocery store croissant for the rest of your life. The coffee is excellent, the staff is consistently friendly, and it's one of those places where it's impossible to leave with only the one thing you came in for. The neighborhood feels safe, parking is plentiful, and the only real hazard is convincing yourself you deserve "just one more pastry." Five stars. My spin instructor may disagree.
