The kid who brought the pud thai said they were out of shrimp. No silverware was brought over. I had to ask for it. The $2.50 i paid for white rice was never delivered. Tom yom is so bad. The soup is too salty and the beef is too tough. It's too expensive at $20.

The Tom Yum was very flavorful, but some of the chicken was dried up, and the cook who prepared it came right into the kitchen to the back where you can see, took off his jacket and went straight to the kitchen, put on gloves and began preparing orders. The gloves do no good if you don't wash your hands first! The establishment is rated "Okay" by the Kc Health Dept., the 2nd lowest rating before it could be closed down! Yet it is very popular and a very busy place, orders being phoned in & picked up like crazy! The majority orders are phoned in & picked up, so those customers don't see the behaviors. The order-taker-cashier-server kept touching her nose & hair and she was sneezing & nervous. I politely requested she wash her hands, which she did. I paid an extra $2.50 because my food did not come with the rice. I purchased to go. When I got home, the rice was cumpy and scorched, apparently coming from the bottom of the rice cooker, and mixed with dried out portions of rice. I've had better from there before! This was my first time trying Thai-U-Up and we ordered through Door Dash for delivery. We ordered the Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, and Pad See Ew. From my first visual impressions upon receiving and opening the containers, the food looked good, but the containers made it seem like there wasn't that much food. Of course after actually indulging the food, I found out it was plenty and quite filling. We ended up having to save some to eat later because we would have probably had a food coma after eating it all. My only complaint is the food tasted a bit sweeter than what I am normally use to tasting when comparing it to other Thai restaurants. read more

I ordered 6 dishes (only 4 shown in photo) for my friend's baby shower. I worked with Ao who's the owner. She was great to work with! The food arrived hot and nicely plated. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous! They delivered it to my friend's home which was also in Burien and because of the close proximity, they waived the delivery fee. On top of that, Ao sent a complimentary large tray of fried rice. So kind!! Every dish we ordered was so flavorful, nicely spiced and the meats were so tender! I highly recommend Thai-U-Up!!! What's my go to Thai place until this week. Something changed I noticed the cook was different. The staff was different. They have a new way to pay and they opened up their dining room, but the food is not as good when I ordered my regular pad Thai chicken for my daughter and TomYum soup for myself they were made in a different way and the soup was pretty much an edible so sour for a soup that is not usually sour. Visiting from out of state (CA) and this is the first place we ate at. They were so friendly and super welcoming from the moment waked in till we left the restaurant. The food came out very fast and bursting with spices. I ordered string bean stir fry with prawns at a level four spicyness. I also ordered a Thai tea. The stir fry was scrumptious however one thing I would recommend is adding a couple more shrimps, it felt Like very little shrimp. I did like how the string green beans were soft and not super hard to the bite like other places I've tried. I love how they have a little chili "tray" with 3 of their chili's. The spiciest one is the pickled green chilis. It's a must try. It's a little hole in the wall with a chill relaxing ambiance, inviting & friendly staff and let's not forget the delicious food. Feels like quality went down. Picked up takeout and was pretty let down. Ordered spicy basil chicken, pad thai, and tom yum soup. We received a free order of spring rolls (these are the deep fried ones) because we spent over 25, the best thing I ate was the free spring rolls. The chicken tasted like shrimp paste, the pad thai was dry and didn't have much of a taste, the soup- partner said it wasn't good. Tasted the yellow curry, "oh it's sweet, maybe rice will help" but unfortunately it didn't at all. Added lots of fish sauce, still too sweet. It was too sweet for me that I wasn't able to finish it. I heard great stuff about this food truck and decided to give it try for lunch. I ordered my lunch online and was expected to be ready by the time I got there, but when I arrived, they were just setting up and wouldn't be open for another 15 minutes. That was kind of disappointing since my order was supposed to be ready by the time I arrived. Once they opened, they tried to quickly get the orders out I had the a feeling that the food wouldn't be as good because they would be rushing. I got the volcano chicken which comes with rice, lettuce fried chicken in a chilly sweet and sour sauce. I replaced the rice with more salad but regreted it later because the sauce was very strong and needed the rice to balance it out. The chicken was not crispy and there was no spice whatsoever.
