Pros : They delivered on time, the potatoes had great seasoning and the bacon was good. Cons : a lot of fees make it more expensive than you expect, online ordering doesn't work, eggs were yuck I wanted to like twelve baskets. We get the same breakfast from another catering company every other week, so thought we'd try a new place. My first experience was with the order - this is actually my 2nd time ordering, the last time was for some breakfast burritos. Both times I had problems ordering on the website and had to call. When I initially did my research, they came in similar priced if not a bit lower than the other company we regularly use. After placing my order, I noticed they charge a 20% "production fee" in addition to tax, gratuity, and then an additional 3.5% to pay by card, so it ended up being $100 more. Also, I figured for ordering a hot breakfast for 30 people they would put it in disposable chaffers to keep hot, but they didn't. A nitpicky complaint is the chopstick serving tools for the fruit didn't work well at all either. Overall, we weren't very happy. read more

I would be very wary booking from Twelve Baskets Catering and ultimately I would stay away. I booked an event with them last year for catering. They did a great job, however, after the event the owner, Kris Mckerney, tried to charge me an extra $1,200 after services were rendered and contract was complete. Kris Mckerney, the owner, erroneously thought we didn't pay for a service that we did not receive and was not in our written contract. He threatened to send me to collections if I didn't pay this fee but I called his bluff and had all the signed contractual agreement that proved he was wrong plus emails that confirmed he was incorrect. This still caused me almost 2 weeks of hassle and essentially negated which was otherwise a lovely event because of all this hassle. If you have a good credit history and a person threatens to send you to collections and potentially negatively affect your credit... this was not worth the service they provided. I am not going to cover every little thing they did wrong (there were many) but not cutting the wedding cake and not brewing the coffee for our wedding guests was the most egregious. (1) Planning and Coordination They worked with me to come up with a menu that would satisfy adults and kids including accommodating food allergies. The coordination too was on point. From the moment we locked in a menu, I was contacted by their payment team and they took care of that over email. Day of the event, they were at the house at the time that was agreed. The coordination between the company's day of lead and chef was all on point. (2) Event The event was great. The day of lead and chef laid out the appetizers and served drinks. The main dinner was plated and they served us a 3 course meal that was delicious. Afterwards, the lead pretty much cleaned up the place and said his goodbyes right on time. (3) Flexibility I need to give them a big shout out for being flexible with me. We had planned for this dinner to happen on Mother's Day but there was a sudden death of a family friend that caused us to postpone. Twelve Baskets were incredibly accommodating. My husband and I eloped in spring and then had to put together a last minute wedding celebration in 4 months. We had been referred to a couple of local catering businesses but didn't feel a connection for either and they didn't seem very interested in working with our budget. I found Twelve Baskets via Yelp & Google and based on their reviews got in touch with them...and I'm SO GLAD I did! Vera took care of me during the planning stages and she was incredibly accommodating, communicative, prompt and kind even through multiple menu adjustments. Not only that: a week before the wedding when we suddenly realized that we needed a bunch of help with decor and final details she came through with the absolutely perfect solutions! On the day of, Jerry (?) and his team came through and impressed us even more! Everyone was very professional while still being fun, they made sure to ask questions along the way to ensure that things were getting set up according to vision, and Jerry was also very available to us as well. He assured us many times that he and the team were there to alleviate any stress on our end and he had a smile for us every time. The food was great, many of our guests let us know how happy they were with the food quality and selection, presentation was lovely, and there was enough to go around! The icing on the cake was that at the end of the night the team packed up any extras for us to take home, but they also presented us with 2 full meals complete with cutlery and napkins so that we wouldn't have to worry about cooking the next day. Those little extra acts of thoughtfulness really blew us away. I've recommended Twelve Baskets to others already, and would absolutely use them again. Wow!! What a great catering experience! We recently used their services for a medium sized bridal shower. Since we were local we chose to pick up the food instead of having it delivered. When we got it back to our venue everything was beautifully arranged and setup was a breeze. Dare I say we were provided with maybe too many utensils? (bamboo; no plastic here!) The serving trays were beautiful as well (some sort of wood), something we were proud to have at our buffet. 12 Baskets also printed and provided menu tags at no charge. And the food... SO GOOD! They were saviors of our wedding from planning to execution. Planning- Vida who was our coordinator from twelve basket was extremely pleasant to work with. She always tried to make our requests and needs firsthand, was very knowledgeable and professional. Even for requests that may seem impossible, she and the team would always try to figure out solution to make things work first before saying no, and I really appreciated that. She made very helpful suggestions to the menu. Even during busiest time, she would get back to us in timely manner. Food- I have been to other weddings catered by Twelve baskets, and they always had exceptional food. So I was confident that the food was going to be great. And as I expected, many of our guests loved food and asked us who the cater was multiple times. Hosting a party during a pandemic-wildfire-heatwave this August was not for the faint of heart and Vita and her team showed infinite patience setting up catering for two back-to-back events as we changed plans several times at the last minute. Twelve Baskets catered two events for me--one outdoors and one indoors--and the staff was lovely, the food was delicious, everything happened just like they said it would, and we had the perfect amount of leftovers for a Sunday brunch. One of my FAVORITE wedding caterers! When booking, ask for your lead to be Jerry, he's by far the best. He's attentive, pays attention to details, gets things done in a timely manner and seems as though he has been doing his job forever, he could probably do it in his sleep! Their food is always so great. Delicious, flavorful, different options that please everyones tastebuds. Only things i've noticed when booking them is their chicken seems a little dry. Chicken is tough to keep moist while feeding 100+ guests for most any caterer. Everything else is on point. We used Twelve Baskets for our June 2012 wedding. Like the reviewer below, we had originally looked into Lisa Dupar, Herban Feast, etc. Lisa Dupar fell down on communications, so we never even got so far as a tasting; Herban Feast gave us a quote that more than doubled Twelve Baskets' estimate. We did a tasting with them, and guess what? It wasn't as good as Twelve Baskets. Seriously, not even close. We met a Twelve Baskets chef during our tasting, and he struck me as a true foodie, someone who really loves his craft. It comes through in his food. The flavors are much more interesting than typical wedding fare, with fresh herbs enlivening the sauces & subtle, layered heat in the tiny crab cakes. At our wedding, we served three appetizers (including the delicious crab cakes and pear & brie tarts that disappeared by the handful), a seasonal salad, a choice of three entrees (salmon with dill sauce, chicken with blackberry sauce, and mac & cheese, with fresh vegetable sides), and a few desserts. Fresh bread, too. My new husband adored the dill sauce. My mother told me it was the best salmon she'd ever eaten. I assume the desserts were excellent, but I didn't get to try them because the buffet cleared out so quickly. My aunt and uncle, the priests who married us, said it was some of the best wedding food they'd ever had - and they've been to a lot of weddings. Seriously, all our guests, who ran the gamut from "My diet consists of chicken nuggets & bread" Midwesterners to true gastronomists, were happy. I got to feel like I'd succeeded at sharing the best tastes of the PNW with my mid-continent family and friends, which was a big part of the wedding objective. So: price was great, food was great, and communication was also great throughout the planning process. I worked with Sara, who was responsive and even quite patient (I was having some health drama at the time, so I wasn't the most on-top-of-things bride). And the cherry on top- this whole feast took place at a fairly remote location (no kitchen) where Twelve Baskets had never worked before. Great, great value. We are so glad we chose Twelve Baskets for our wedding! Vita and team were always extremely quick to respond to all our questions, helpful in their recommendations, and worked out a tasting menu for our moms (answering their hundreds of questions) when we couldn't attend ourselves. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly accommodating and so friendly - Honestly, there isn't one person we ever spoke to - phone, at their catering site, or at our venue - who didn't feel like a real friend doing their absolute best to help us create the perfect day! There was something like 8 plus events they catered the same day as ours, but you would never know it. It seemed like everyone was working just on our wedding day. We requested 4 different appetizers: alaskan scampi, cilantro prawns, brie/poached pear cups and pork tenderloin crostini - all delicious. Bonus, they made sure we got to taste all of them since we missed our cocktail hour. Our Buffet consisted of cedar wrapped salmon (Wild, not farm raised!) and peppered beef tenders. Both were cooked to perfection. They actually brought the main course shortly before service to ensure it was fresh cooked and still warm rather than leaving it under heating laps during their set up... We wanted our guests to remember the catering and they definitely will! An extra special perk, and unbeknownst to us, they packed away a full dinner, bottled water, and dessert for two that was presented to us after we arrived at our hotel at the end of the night (crucial) along with a special treat. Twelve Baskets went above and beyond to help me cater my best friend's baby shower this past January. Normally, I wouldn't have hired a caterer for a baby shower but this baby is SO loved that people came from near and far to celebrate (ie it was a large group). Once I realized there would be no way I could create what I had envisioned on my own, I reached out to Twelve Baskets to see if they could cater the event. Vita quickly responded to my request and was SO helpful. After I explained that this was a baby shower and in my (mom's) home, we didn't think it was necessary to have a staffed catering set-up, and she helped me create a menu that could be delivered, set-up, and ready to go. Vita was super responsive to all my questions and requests (especially as I was planning the event from across the country) and even helped make sure we had food for all the various allergies/restrictions of guests. She was realistic about how much food she thought we would need and helped me think through creating a thoughtful and diverse menu. On the day of the event, when we were scrambling to get everything set up, the Twelve Baskets staff who delivered the food (I do not remember his name - this is what happens when you write reviews two months after the fact) was not only right on time, but helped set-up everything beautifully and even helped us light candles as the first guests arrived. To top it off, all of the food was amazing. People were very into the spring rolls and the taro chips were out of control good. Everything was so elegantly presented and we had even the most discerning guests compliment us on the food. My experience with Twelve Baskets was more than I could have hoped for. Amarah was our coordinator and I cannot begin to explain how helpful, knowledgeable and kind she is. No matter how many questions or tweaks I had to our menu along the way, she never made me feel like a pain. She truly went above and beyond and was able to anticipate tiny details I would have never thought of. The food was outstanding and I had 100% confidence in the team on delivery. I can't eat wheat. I'm celiac, it's not a choice for me, it's legally considered a disability, and it physically harms me to eat it. I just started a new job and found out they had catered lunches. How awesome is that. They even have a dairy and gluten free section, which just adds more to the awesome. But it wasn't so great. I had reactions to the food right off the bat. 12 Baskets assured me they don't have wheat in their food, so after my stomach recovered I took their word for it and cautiously starting trying food I though would be safe. about a month later I had another bad reaction. I guess for a lot of people going gluten free is a newly understood problem, and people's understanding of it can vary from, it's just a fad, to, it's not real, to actually knowing what wheat does to people celiac, and how reactions for people with celiac can vary from stomach burning to auto immune problems which don't show up for for a few days to a week. I have no confidence in 12 Baskets understanding or respect for this. 12 Baskets response to my third reaction was to say they can't make food that can be certified as gluten free, but they continue to serve gf food at the office. Feels rather discriminatory to people with a food disability to be offered gf food you can't eat for fear of a reaction. Making food that gluten free doesn't require a clean room, it's not rocket science either, I do it myself. It just takes better accounting for what is in the food one serves. If your gf and go with 12 Baskets be sure to buy a take home gluten test to make sure they can real labels on ingredients. At this point if I found out they had gluten in food they consider to be gluten free, one should file assault charges because they should know better. read more

I was handed a list of several catering companies from the venue I was getting married at,so of course I put out feelers to a couple different companies. Having celiacs, I of course wanted a GF wedding, but the special requests didn't stop there I needed salmon for my mom, a vegan option,and my new husband wanted fingerling potatoes for no other reason than he said "they sound fancy". They are attentive, beyond helpful, and the food is top-quality for a modest price. I am so excited to see everything come together at the wedding.
