A Platinum made us feel like family. We interviewed several different caterers and Emily with A Platinum was the only one who made us feel like they were thinking about us instead of our wallets. Any request we made was met with "Of course we can do that" and as we waited for her to tell us what extra fee we had to pay, we kept waiting. She made us feel like they priced their food accordingly and wanted to accommodate us. And their food was excellent! We went with the plated option: steak, salmon, veggie pasta. I went around the wedding trying everyone's food and honestly wanted to keep eating--the steak was tender and a beautiful medium rare. The salmon was flaky with the right balance between savory and sweet. The pasta was bright and flavorful. For how much food we got and the quality of food we received, we were very satisfied. The serving staff was polite, attentive, and ON TIME. Our guests were served promptly and no one was left hungry by the end of the night. We HIGHLY recommend A Platinum to any couple who wants a caterer who cares. read more

We had our wedding at Columbia Winery and were catered by them. Columbia Winery has 3 preferred vendors, and I got quotes from each one. One was wayyy too expensive, the other I had read that their food was so so, and this one - I liked that Kari sent the menus and pricing right away (without me having to call, etc), I had read good things about the food, and she was very flexible. I mentioned our budget and what we wanted, and she was able to accomodate it easily. Their pricing was honestly incredibly reasonable for the quality and quanitity of what you get. We did the tasting and it was soo good. Of course the day of is never as good as but we were very impressed. I also liked that she has a lot of decorations etc for you to use without an extra fee. Also if you want certain extra things, she may be willing to do it for you for a very reasonable price too - like we wanted some submerged vases, and she was able to put them together for us at a good price. The only negative I will have is it was incredibly difficult to get ahold of her. I always had to email/text a few times. I realize they are busy and a small shop, and also we got married right in wedding season but I as a bride actually had a nightmare that they weren't going to be there b/c of the unresponsiveness. So I'd say def be prepared for that but once the day comes everything is smooth. Kari also offered to be our wedding day of coordinator but I had already booked someone else... and I'm glad I did b/c that did give me ease of mind. I'm sure Kari would have been fine but just with the lack of responses, at least in the days leading up to the event I felt better knowing I had someone else taking care of things too. As an interior designer I go to a lot of small receptions at vendors' showrooms. Generally there are trays of nibbles or a buffet of some kind, but the one I went to last night was one of the best I've ever been to primarily because of the catering. The warm food was passed just frequently enough. The bites were just the right size to be nibbled in two bites or eaten in just one bite and everything was really delicious. The main thing I was impressed with was that everyone working the party seemed relaxed and content and extremely professional. The catering added to the enjoyment of the party and left me with a very positive impression of my host. I'd recommend these guys to anyone throwing a party. read more

Life Savers! We used a Platinum Event for our rooftop opening party for our apartment community here in Belltown and it was amazing! We had a very last minute kind of situation and Kristen was so accommodating to our timeline and needs. The day of the event the team shows up to survey the setup, our onsite team didn't need to lift a finger(which is very new to us). I can't say enough about how amazing A Platinum Event is! The service is outstanding and the food, nothing can compare. We have used A. P. E. for our employee holiday parties for several years and between Kari Tony's amazing talent of coming in and making our business look magical and welcoming, Chef Michael's incredible culinary gifts and their superb staff everyone of our employees leave the evening feeling like they attended an elegant ball. Now during the last year of COVID... it didn't stop this fabulous Tony team! No we didn't have a large holiday party but the Tony's and their amazing team made a special four course dinner for each of our employees and their families to take home and celebrate. We heard from each and everyone of them on how incredible the food and presentation was! And for our family, well I love to cook but I also love to dine out and have a night off. Guess what, I have not missed dining out at all this year. Instead I now get at least one night off every week! We can't say enough great things about working with Maggie and Samantha at A Platinum Event. We selected A Platinum Event to cater our wedding in October 2020 after sampling multiple other caterers. Their service and food are well deserving of their name. Everything to all the details and the amazing food were exactly what we wanted. Then COVID-19 hit the world and, like so many others, we decided we needed to be responsible and protect our family, friends and various companies and postpone our big wedding celebration to next year. However, we purposely picked 10/10/2020 as our wedding date and we were sticking to it. We decided to have a small covid-safe gathering of our closest friends and asked A Platinum Event if they felt comfortable during this time to cater our event. They did. Chef Justin, Chef Pablo, Samantha and Maggie catered our event and it was a perfect and safe as we expected. The food was as delicious as it was at our tasting and all the guests raved about how good the food tasted. Buyer Beware! I have had the unfortunate pleasure of having to deal with Kari and Kristen from A Platinum Event for the past few months. I am a bride whose wedding is the day after their client's wedding and we've had to work together to share some rentals at our venue. In spite of trying to coordinate with them on numerous occasions from both me and my wedding planner, we are two months away from my wedding and still nothing has been confirmed. Their lack of concern and their utter disregard for communications is appalling. I do understand that they are facing a medical issue in their family which I'm sensitive to, but like the rest of us having to balance life when faced with personal issues... you have to keep running your business or have a contingency plan for these types of situations. Choosing not to respond is unacceptable. I received an email from Kari that was snide and full of excuses after multiple attempts to reach them. She did speak to my wedding planner finally after that note, but has fallen off the face of the earth again since in spite of my wedding planner trying to reach her to finalize everything. I am thoroughly disgusted and would be even more livid had I hired them myself. It's bad enough having to work with them for one detail of my wedding. I have hired a multitude of wedding vendors for my wedding and by far, this company is the most unprofessional, unresponsive and horrid... I haven't experienced anything like it with the other vendors I've been working with. How they can remain in business with this approach is beyond me. I'm grateful that I didn't hire them and will be sure to let the many other couples I know who are getting married to avoid them. By far, the worst wedding vendor in Seattle in my experience!! Don't waste your money unless you enjoy being low on someone's priority list, you enjoy sending multiple emails with no response, and then when you do get a respond... it's flippant. You would think they would go out of their way to please not only their client, but what would have been a potential client! Pathetic! read more

On the day of my event, everything went off without a hitch and the food was delicious. Kari and Kristen were also super flexible about our ceremony location - our event was in early May and we were hoping to be married outside rather than in our secondary indoor location, which is always iffy in Seattle. It rained in the morning and let up just an hour or so before the ceremony, and they got the chairs up in time for us to hold our event outside under sun and clear skies. The reason I'm giving three stars is because of some serious responsiveness issues I had with them, which another poster also alluded to. I was planning my wedding from out of town, and their unwillingness to make themselves available to questions was a big problem. I would send emails requesting information or trying to confirm something, and they would not respond for weeks, after multiple pings and multiple promises to reply to me by a certain time which they did not follow through on. These were not usually questions that would take a lot of thought to address, and their lack of concern with responding to me in a timely manner made it difficult for me to plan purchases and coordinate with other vendors. I actually resorted to telling them outright how unhappy I was with the responsiveness - more than once - and it had little effect. (Note: I was not aware of the family medical issue that Melissa B. cited, but their communication was consistently a problem over many months). Our wedding day was perfect and everything came together great in the end. But if I were to do it again, I'd say it wasn't worth the hassle - it was just so difficult to plan with them. read more

Kari acted as our Day-of-Coordinator for our wedding, as she was contracted for the other 2 weddings of the same weekend at DeLille and we were all sharing costs. I AM SO GLAD WE DID. Kari and Kristen were much more than DOCs, they were decorating committee (and decor providers) and ran our rehearsal. Having them provided a huge ease of mind. I will acknowledge the other Yelpers' reviews about challenges with communication - it was extremely difficult to be in touch with A Platinum in the months leading up to the wedding, but when wedding week arrived they were very present and energetic and catered to all of our needs. They were amazing wedding coordinators and caterers! Kristen was wonderful to work with and very helpful with answering questions and giving us guidance when we were making decisions. The food was unbelievable, everyone has told us it was the best wedding food they have ever tasted. The food is made fresh not reheated at all, quiet impressive when serving for 125 ppl! We had 4 different passed appetizers all were unbelievable. Then we had a plated salad followed by a plated surf and turf of salmon and short rib. Amazing!!! They were seamless and well organized keeping everything moving along smoothly. The attention to detail was also impressive. In relation to those previous reviews, I would disagree. A Platinum Event catered the Columbia Winery 50th Anniversary on 09/14/12. We attended and it was a great party and made all the better by a wonderful caterer and their amazing staff. We enjoyed the food immensely. There was a lively (and yummy) selection, appropriate not only for the occasion and wine parings but also for the local flavors of our area. However, to me, it was a mélange of not only the food but the wait staff too that made me stop and say "wow, who's this caterer again?" Early in the evening, I approached one of the bright and spirited catering staff. I indicated the nook where my group was standing and asked, if his time permitted, could he swing past our table with some of his delicious treasures of hors d'œuvre? Arthur T. smiled brightly and in a robustly confident and assuring voice told me he'd be right back and what course should he start with? Throughout the evening Arthur was our attentive link into the kitchen, intricately explaining each of the wonderful appetizers we were trying and the taste within which would capture and intrigue our palettes. Arthur gave the same measure of attentiveness to all neighboring tables and I could tell they were equally grateful for his knowledge and effervescent attitude; he helped make it a memorable evening. We photographed a wedding at Columbia Winery this past weekend. We specialize in vineyards weddings and have seen and experienced a lot over the years. We can not say enough great things about Kari! She was professional and very kind to us. We were too busy to eat the main course, but were able to eat a super yummy green salad that had walnuts, and some other great stuff in it. I know, not the best description, but the food smelled amazing and we noticed people enjoying it. As wedding professionals we notice how business owners treat the guests. Kari was wonderful to everyone, the food was served promptly and the tables were cleared in a timely manner as well. We hope we get to work with her again soon! read more

I attended a wedding catered by Platinum Event. The food was the absolute best food I've ever had catered. So, with great applause I give a Platinum Event five stars. Perhaps it was the not too big size of the wedding (+/-65), but the preparation of the Sea Bass was perfect, which is no small feat. Fish is too easily overcooked and my fish was amazing. Next to me, my girlfriend enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet and shared several bites with me. It was perfectly cooked medium for her taste and accompanied with a delicate Bordelais sauce. Before dinner, a wonderful assortment of appetizers circulated the reception served by wonderfully friendly wait staff. My goodness, if you're fortunate enough to find yourself in need of a caterer or at an event catered by Platinum Event, then you're in for a treat. read more

I hate for this first yelp review to be sorta negative but here goes... We attended my old friends' wedding this summer (2011) at a winery here just outside of seattle (the winery was great which is why i am not mentioning it here) and this company was just, okay...the winery while very nice and fully accomodating to my friends need's overshadowed the responses we recieved from the catering company and its chefs. The plated dinner was lukewarm and not hot, the food slightly over salted. The staff seemed nonplussed to be there on my friend's most special day and seemed irritated when asked top change a last minute menu item from meat to fish, when it was obivious they could do so based on the amount of empty seats in front of place settings around us. I would rec the winery but not this catering comany--which is all it really is I suppose--and stick with a good old fashioned wedding planner as a liason to make certain the things you want done get done. read more

A Platinum Event was the caterer for our wedding yesterday at de Lille in Woodinville. When we asked Dianne at de Lille for her recommendation for a caterer, she said that A Platinum Event was by far the best caterering company that they worked with. Good enough for me. As a previous reviewer said, the tasting was wonderful and what Michael cooked up was absolutely delicious. Equally so for our wedding (The prosciutto wrapped prawns & goat cheese tarts were so... friggin... good!); we opted for Filet and Michael went beyond the menu to create a sweet potato dish that was delicious. But here is why I think anyone having a wedding at de Lille should hire A Platinum Event: Kari. Here is a (probably partial) list of the things that Kari did that were above and beyond what should be expected of a caterer: - She does a lot of the event planning (made A+ recommendation for vendors, she communicated with vendors to make sure everything got done correctly) and serves as a day of coordinator (she made our event run super smoothly despite several near disasters... say, for example, you forget to print out the seating arrangement. You'll have Kari taking charge and directing everybody to their specific seats - ain't no thing... She organized our ceremony, our timeline, pretty much everything. We had total trust in her and her creative ideas; NOTHING was forgotten, nothing was subpar. Everything was super stylish and beautiful. And we were not an easy couple by any stretch of the mind - we showed up the sunday before our wedding and it felt like we hadn't thought through many of the details of the event (were starting medical school and somehow the wedding planning took a back seat...). Kari worked tirelessly to make everything happen (my mother asked 3-4 days before all of the guests came from out of town (my family is from NY and we both had friends fly in from around the coutnry) for Kari to make gift baskets that included wine, hand written "welcome" notes (supposedly from my bride and myself, but really from Kari), and god knows what else. She made it happen...). Succinctly, she will make IT happen and will do so with a smile and with enthusiasm (it's actually pretty funny, when we were setting up for the wedding, there were multiple times that I saw her sprinting around the property. If you read this, that was some serious hustle Kari :) - "You guys don't have a florist? Since your wedding is before June I can do it" Okay, she does flowers too... but she also found Talavera pottery (at my bride's request), for all of the tables. She took control of the bride's bouqet and the boutennieres (we are a last minute kind of couple and didn't really provide much direction. In retrospect, this might have been for the better because Kari's choices were significantly better than anything we probably would have come up this). I didn't want her to pin my tux so she returned in 5 minutes and attached my boutenniere with a magnet. Clearly prepared! - She's worked at de Lille so many times that she knows all of the nooks and crannies and what will work and what won't work. I hope you'll trust me and use them if you're having your wedding at de Lille! Just one minor example: We were lucky to be married on a 75 degree day with blue skies (who woulda thunk for May 12 in WA?). She had the clear tent situated perfectly for the space with a few sides open to the garden, heaters placed so that all were happy). - Any special requests were accommodated: two days before the wedding we wanted a fire for s'mores. She made it happen. We wanted Talavera pottery (but didn't have any that was suitable), she made that happen. We wanted super specific vases & glasses in a super specific color, she made that happen. If you have a special request for your wedding and it's marginally possible to make happen - Kari will make it happen. If you have a request that won't work (or is just a bad idea), she has a way of changing it to make either more realistic or a better idea. She knows what a good wedding at de Lille looks like, and as long as you give her a 1/10 of a semblence of a mediocre theme, she will make it look fantastic, elegant, and unforgettable. - When we returned to our hotel, she had candles lit all over the room with rose petals on the counters, floor leading to the bedroom, and bed. We figured that it was the hotel until we saw a note from her congratulating us and wishing us the best. Are you serious, Kari? Are you &^%% serious? As I come up with more of the things she did I'll add this. Suffice to say: A Platinum Event is incredible and I recommend them without reservation! I'll also add pictures when I get them back from the photographer in a few weeks. read more

When I first started my wedding planning, my caterer was already figured out. However, when that changed, I had to select a caterer from three options. I spoke with all three companies, and personally met with two. Michael and Kari Toni went above and beyond all my expectations, and that was just the tasting! My husband, myself, and my parents visited their kitchen was blown away by their food. Kari knew we had already received a contract with the first caterer, and made accommodations to meet the first price point. However, in the beginning, it would take a few days until I heard back from Kari. But closer to the day of the wedding she was available at all times and quick with responses. On our wedding day, Michael and his team of chefs cooked the food on in the kitchen at Columbia Winery, so everything was fresh and amazing. Our guests raved! Especially, about the Coconut Prawns. Kari worked the front of the house, to make sure tables, décor and flow of event was going to plan. She also made sure my husband I had warm food, and everything else we needed. I don't think either of us actually went to the bar to get beer, wine, soda or water! Kari and our wedding planner were on top of it! read more

I can't say enough about the ladies of A Platinum Event! Kristen and Kerri met with my husband and I when we first got engaged and gave us a real, accurate, and detailed quote. They stayed true to their quote and we had the most beautiful wedding- more than I could have ever hoped for! Kristen met me multiple times out at the venue (DeLille Cellars) and at the rental company to pick out linens, etc and was so helpful, friendly and easy to work with! They were our day-of coordinators and also ran our rehearsal. We had a family member as our officiant who had never done a wedding prior to ours and Kerri made him feel at ease and our rehearsal was seamless. Both women made our big deal incredibly easy on us. Not only did they decorate the venue beautifully, but they continually checked in with me and my family/bridal party to make sure we were taken care of and needed anything. They also made sure that we actually got to enjoy our cocktail hour!! While we were taking some photos with family, they came around with a personal plate of apps just for my husband and I so we could munch while we finished up! They helped keep the timeline on track for the whole day and ushered us to where we were needed so we didn't need to worry about a thing! Beyond the wedding, they were incredibly responsive with emails and phone calls and were so flexible with us! The food was INCREDIBLE - we got to do a tasting before hand and it was just the same on the day of! Plus, everyone raved about it afterwards and said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding! They are absolute gems.
