Tried this place for the first time and they did not disappoint! I loved that I can get half squid/half shrimp because I couldn't decide. I honestly loved both as a combo since they're both so good! The flavors are perfect and come with rice. Next time I'll have to get the wings or surf n turf combo! I'm already thinking about the next time I'll visit since I can't stop thinking about the meal I had. I really hope they stay in the Beaverton area for a while!

I've been to their location down in Gresham, but now they moved to even closer to me. My only order is salt and pepper squid. It's so good, every single time. The owners are really nice every single time I ever encountered them. Squid is always piping hot and crispy, and the serving size is perfect. So glad they moved closer!

Fluctuating business hours and days. Jan. 2026

The business hours seem to change pretty regularly. If you plan on going here make sure you check their instagram 15-30 minutes before you leave your home. I checked business hours on Saturday, January 3rd and it had them listed as closed Saturday open on Sunday. Sunday morning I go to BGs Food Cartel and they're closed. Low and behold their hours changed on their IG, they're now closed Monday, Thursday, Sat, Sun. The wife and I love their food and would eat it regularly but it feels like half the time we want to go here they are closed. The food is 10/10 the business hours/days in constant flux is 0/10.

Absolutely terrible. The squid was chewy, extremely greasy, and had no flavor from the seasoning whatsoever. Add in onions that still had a raw taste and plain rice, this was an unpleasant plate of food.

Salt and pepper, half and half surf and turf consisted of squid and shrimp. Ox pepper fried chicken wings that were crazy flavorful

Perfectly seasoned salt & pepper surf & turf squid and shrimp great portion size and at only $15. It was also recommended to try the ox pepper wings, which is deep fried chicken wings with a delicious fish sauce to coat the wings. Overall, i'm very happy with the dishes and have a food coma to prove it

YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE ASAP!! Best salt and pepper who's you'll ever try, this is only my boyfriend and i's second time trying. But... it's the best food we've ever had. We tried the half squid and half shrimp and the surf and turf! The meat in the surf and turf was out of this world, the portions are huge and worth every penny! Definitely stop by and give this place a try! WE LOVE IT !!

I am a huge Sou's fan. Their fried squid is SO GOOD. I've come for it multiple times. I have also had the wings and they were great too. The service is always amazing. There is tons of seating available and the cart is very clean.

Salt and pepper squid is a very nostalgic dish to me. It is something I have fond memories of eating at Tien Hong off Sandy with my family as a little girl. Something about Sou's salt and pepper squid is so good, it almost makes me cry! It's my new favorite place for my salt & pepper squid fix. Service is excellent! Always friendly & quick. I love that Sou's relocated to just down the street from me at the Fork. Perfect plaza of food trucks in a nice area with a parking lot & a dining area outside as well as inside. Sou's is soooo good & I will definitely return. Love supporting local Asian owned businesses & Sou's is definitely deserving of all my money haha

Went around 11 am, the time when most carts open. We were one of the first customers to be there. Went around to look at the great variety of choices and i picked this Pepper Salted Squid and it didn't disappoint! Great crunch, seasoning and just the right portion. Though would be nice if it comes with whatever dip. (Vinegar, aioli, tartar) thats just me.

Order the famous salt and pepper squid/shrimp. I didn't realize it came with rice. There were more rice than squid and shrimp. Taste good. But I didn't really taste any pepper. This is inside the fork. It is a lot with various food trucks with nice picnic style tables indoors and a beer bar.

This is the best pepper salted squid I've ever had! The squid is crispy and well seasoned. It tasted like very good quality squid and the portion is generous. Highly recommend to get this with rice! Very fast service and the staff are really nice.

Hands down the best Pepper-Salted Squid I've ever had! The squid was fresh and had a nice chew to it. Every bite has the perfect crunch and savory taste. I normally don't eat white rice, but I destroyed the plate because the leftover flavor and grease made the rice such a great sidekick to the squid. I am an onion lover so the sautéed onions hit the spot. Literally so bomb I had to eat it 2 days in a row!

    Ask the Community - Sou's

I'm assuming that the fried shrimp and squid are not gluten-free. We asked at the cart and they only said it was fried in "starch." Does anyone know for sure if it is or isn't gluten free? Thank you.

Hi Clayton, thank you for your question. I can tell you that the starch used is not made of grains, so it is gluten free. If you have any further questions, please contact Susan or Sou at the cart.

My husband said he wanted Bossam, but hilariously, he changed his mind after seeing the menu and didn't even order it. He ended up getting the Spicy Jokbal, which I was feeling a little skeptical about (pig feet!), but after one bite, I was hooked. Really flavorful and quite spicy. There is a bit of fat/skin, but we just ate around it, although I knowsome people would be put off by that sort of thing. When asked if it was any good, our server's eyes lit up and she said yes, it is one of her favorites. She did also confirm that we liked spicy food, which was good, because it definitely had some heat. Other items we ordered: Jjinmandu - Can't go wrong with dumplings! Kimchi Jiggae - My favorite Korean soup and they put a nice amount of pork in it. It was bubbling for at least a full minute before it calmed down. Impressive. Beef Bulgogi - A classic and well made here. Sweet and savory. And of course they had a nice selection of Banchan, to round out the meal. Our server even noticed which ones we liked the best and brought out an extra tray for us. We brought home a lot of leftovers because we always over-order, but I'm not mad about it. I'm looking forward to eating everything again tomorrow. If you like Korean food, definitely check this place out.

If you've never heard of Magnolia Fusion, I highly suggest you check these amazing folks out because we had a great experience. Located near 185th and TV Highway, Magnolia Fusian is one of several businesses adding international flavor to this little pocket of Aloha. The business is family-owned, and visitors sense they're in for something special as soon as they step foot in the door. Brian, the owner's son, greeted us with a smile and helped us navigate the extensive menu. There is a whole lot to choose from here as the menu boasts both Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. We're talking gyoza, gyros and baklava, with some arroz con leche thrown in for good measure... and I'm all about it! We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and Brian kept us entertained while our food was being prepared. He let us know the pre-existing Mediterranean restaurant was purchased by his mother and her sister last year, and they added Asian cuisine to the menu. His mother has extensive experience working in Asian restuarants, and has also done her fair share of catering as well. That level of experience is made abundantly clear in not only the quality of the food, but precision with which she prepares and serves the food. Our selections arrived at the table in the blink of an eye. We ordered the chicken yakisoba, a gyro, and some Greek fries... and everything hit the spot! The chicken yakisoba had the perfect level of spice, the noodles and veggies had just the right amount of bite, and it was served with a delicious house-made hot chili oil. The gyro had everything going for it; fresh pita, tender and juicy slices of meat, and a delicious tzatziki sauce that helped bring all the flavors together. And wouldn't you know, these kind folks brought us out complimentary arroz con leche for dessert! I love supporting small businesses like Magnolia Fusion, and genuinely wish this family the best of luck as they continue reaching out to the community to win over new customers. They're quickly showing they've got what it takes to create long-lasting success.

Unfortunately the taco tent was no where in sight so we decided to give Mongolia Fusion a try. It was quiet when we arrived, so we placed our order and grabbed a table quickly. It is an interesting concept, both Mediterranean food and Japanese-style teriyaki dishes. Our food came and everything was surprising delicious. We tried the chicken teriyaki plate and the lamb & rice plate. Both were delicious and generously portioned. The lamb & rice plate came with a bowl of salad, hummus and fresh pita bread. While the chicken teriyaki sat on top of a pile of steamed rice and salad. Everything was cooked well and easy to eat. The portion reminded me what we used to get for lunch back the 2000's, enough food for dining in and leftovers to go. Oh that was a good time. Overall, we highly recommend Mongolia Fusion as the food was good and the price was reasonable considering the portions. We could have easily shared either of the plates we ordered.

Hapa Pizza: A Masterclass in Fusion and Flavor If you…read morehaven't been to Hapa Pizza in downtown Beaverton, you are missing out on what is arguably the most exciting culinary evolution in the Pacific Northwest. It is rare for a restaurant to live up to "New York Times Best in the US" hype, but Hapa doesn't just meet the bar--it sets a whole new one. The Crust: A Neapolitan Dream Everything starts with the dough. They've mastered a Neapolitan-style crust that achieves the impossible: a light, airy crumb with a soulful sourdough tang and that signature wood-fired "leopard spotting." It's chewy, charred, and provides the perfect structural integrity for their bold toppings. The "Mind-Trip" Flavors What truly makes Hapa a destination is how seamlessly owners Aaron and Natalie Truong blend traditional Asian dishes with the canvas of a pizza. * The Bánh Mì Pizza: This is a revelation. The lemongrass BBQ pork is sweet and smoky, perfectly countered by the crunch of pickled daikon and carrots and a drizzle of sriracha aioli. * The Phở Pizza: It sounds like a gimmick until you taste it. The brisket, Thai basil, and hoisin-sriracha swirl actually trick your brain into thinking you're eating a bowl of noodles, but with the satisfying crunch of a pizza. * Khao Soi & Thai Curry: For those who want a kick, these pizzas bring deep, aromatic spices and creative textures (like crispy wonton strips) that you simply won't find anywhere else. Beyond the Pie Do not sleep on the sides. The Tom Yum Caesar Salad is a tangy, umami-rich masterpiece that redefines what a salad can be. And if they have the Korean Burrata or their Asian-inspired Tiramisus (like Ube or Vietnamese Coffee) on the menu, order them immediately before they sell out. The Vibe Despite the national accolades, Hapa retains its heart. The space is clean and modern, and the service is consistently praised for being warm and efficient even when the line is out the door. Final Verdict: Hapa Pizza isn't just "good fusion"--it's a world-class example of how to respect traditional techniques while fearlessly innovating. It is a mandatory stop for any food lover in Oregon. Pro Tip: They are known to sell out, so arrive early or check their social media for daily updates. Your taste buds will thank you.
