Caprese(6"Specialty Sandwich) and New England Clam Chowder
Alex Z.

The sandwiches here are super tasty and I love a good sourdough bread. I got the caprese sandwich and although it looked mediocre it was pretty good and a good size too. The clam chowder had good flavor too, it was creamy and and on the thicker size which I love. I'll definitely be back here to try other sandwiches.

I generally like the sandwiches here (great bread and house sauce), but they missed the mark the other day. I ordered the pesto turkey sandwich and 1. I'm not sure if there was even pesto on it, 2. the assembly was kind of sloppy so toppings were falling out left and right, and 3. they gave me two bottom sides of the baguette. I didn't realize until I was about half way through, after thinking that the bread felt a little thin and less flavorful than normal, and then we realized my boyfriend's sandwich had two top sides! From a service and ambiance perspective: the service is fine but I've gone twice where it's really hard to hear the staff because they are nearly mumbling. Most recently, we wanted to dine-in but all the chairs were lined up against the wall. We moved the chairs just fine for ourselves, but it felt uninviting / like we weren't supposed to be there (though it was 6:30pm).

I needed a quick lunch and stopped by Sourdough & Co. This was my first time trying this location. When I walked in, there was only one customer waiting for her order. Since I was having a late lunch, it wasn't busy inside. I was greeted by the staff and I let them know that I wasn't sure what I wanted and I needed a minute. I finally decided to get the 6" French dip sandwich and a small cup of clam chowder. I found a table to sit at and waited for my order. After 5 minutes, I heard them call my name. My order was ready. My sandwich was really good. The bread was lightly toasted on the outside and soft in the middle. There was a good amount of roast beef. The house spread was so flavorful and worked perfectly with the roast beef and melted Swiss cheese. The Au jus was also hot and tasted great after dipping my sandwich in it. The clam chowder was just okay. It was hot and came with two slices of sourdough bread. I ended up taking the soup and bread home. It's very spacious inside, with plenty of seating options. The staff were also very friendly. I would definitely return for the sandwiches.

Not fresh. $15 for a small cob salad. Poor quality ingredients.

Poor quality ingredients for a $15 Cobb salad. Ingredients not fresh. Server was nice but the food was terrible quality.

#3 Turkey with soup and salad
Vinoda N.

Got ourselves sandwiches, and salad- both turkey based. Made with marble bread- it was delicious, though I am not a fan of turkey. Soup was tomato and very tasty. Service was okay - nothing out of the world- no smile or anything. Made us wait while they were doing their thing- no customers waiting or anything. Looks like college students working the shift - so not much skin in the game, this being a temporary gig!! A smile and a few words would have made it a much better experience and review!! Ambiance was okay.

I had no idea Sourdough & Co. was even a thing! Excited to try this place out as sourdough is my favorite type of bread. I got a Clam Chowder Bread Bowl and I thought the food was okay. The chowder was standard, something you would eat at a buffet. I thought the bread was pretty good, although the whole meal felt full of carbs as the soup also had a bunch of potato chunks. I wish they had offered more soup than bread as I had a lot of the sourdough left over. Overall, this is an okay place for a bite. The bread bowl was $15, which was on the expensive side.

Great customer service greeted with a small as soon as we walked in. A very cute and comfortable place to have a sandwich. The brisket sandwich was amazing along with the French dip. The sourdough bread is delicious. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice fresh tasting food.

#6 Pastrami

A relatively new player in the sandwich game, to go up against the likes of Togo's, Ike's, Subway, Crust,Panera (to an extent), etc. A-okay IMHO. Regarding those chains, Togo's is my "go to" because of their thinly sliced pastrami. However, I still gravitate/prefer locally owned businesses like Roger's in Mountain View. What is nice about this company is that they offer a gluten free wrap option for a $1 upcharge. As a fellow Yelper mentioned, their sourdough bread needs a bit more "sour". While pricing is on par with other establishments, I feel the portions are a bit smaller. And, it's so tough to go up against Togo's Pastrami and Ike's creativity.

I wanted to something different today so I tried this place for the first time. I was actually in my way to Traders Joes to buy just a small sandwich and salad when my intuition said let try this place next door. It was very clean looking inside. The bathroom was dirty. It isn't a cheap eat, but it is someplace I wouldn't mind spending my money on another visit. I ordered the rice noodles, which were mild, not spicy, and had a nice light flavor. The meat was very tender and flavorful. I also tried their braised chicken, and it was especially juicy and tender. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would definitely recommend this place. The only thing to keep in mind is that some dishes can be a little salty, especially if you normally prefer lighter flavors.

I do recommend adding an egg, especially because the lamb chop was small. As a person who tries to get more protein in, the pieces of lamb are delicious but small. The sauce was delicious and great with rice. The seaweed soup was refreshing and cleansed my palate, since the dish is pretty oily. Make sure it to eat it quickly because it will get cold. The wood ear mushroom salad was refreshing! I tried my friend's seaweed salad and it was yummy. The food is pretty oily towards the end, so it js important to be aware of that if you have a sensitive stomach. I would come again and try the soup!

Kunjip Tofu's version is tender, flavorful, and served sizzling in a hot stone pot. On top of this amazing entrée, they serve 10 banchan (Korean side dishes), with an individual set for each person and free refills! Some were new to me. The server brings them around on a cart to check which ones you'd like refilled. Soo was an excellent server who recommended the spicy octopus over the seafood tofu (which I'll try next time!). She checked on us throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was lovely, and even the clean bathrooms matched the restaurant's decor. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for! Definitely making my Top 10 favorite Korean restaurants in the Bay Area!

TLDR: Expensive, taste is ALMOST worth it…read more This place is CRAZY expensive. Even with the premium ingredients, it's still a little bit overvalued, I think. Unlimited banchan.... lots of places has those. Some of the banchan are little-seen in other places, yeah. But I feel like most of the menu is there just to upsell... So take for example, the wagyu Galbi, which was $58. Did it taste good? Yes it does! The meat was tender, and it had this great sauce, which I loved. But the wagyu was completed wasted on it. ANY good piece of beef would have tasted just as delicious... because of the sauce. My wife ordered the Wagyu Tofu Soup. Again... I feel that the wagyu is wasted on this dish as well. It's going to be all tender and mushy from being in the soup anyway. Any beef, almost any cut would have done here. I really liked their seafood pancake though. It's not as mealy as other places. In fact, it tasted more like the Chinese onion pancake... crispier. I really liked it. I wouldn't wait 2 hrs for it though, nor pay $18. If this sounds like I had a negative experience, I definitely did not. The food itself was well cooked and in ways I haven't experienced in other Korean places. The service was really great. The servers monitored our water levels, banchan levels. And despite the full house, the service and meals were quick. BUT... this place has a few cons as well. Unnecessary (IMO) premium ingredients, no reservations, LONG waitlist (even though we were put on the waitlist at 6pm, told it would be a 1.5 hr wait; we still didn't get seated until 8). It just keeps this place out of 5 stars for me, sorry.
