I was out and about running some errands and saw this sandwich shop was in the same shopping center. I decided to try it because I have loved the Sourdough & Co in my hometown. When I first walked through the door I was greeted warmly. It doesn't always happen so I definitely noticed. I took some time to review the menu really quickly and chose my sandwich order. I got a 6" pastrami sandwich. I was asked if I wanted all the regular toppings (the employee rattled them off to me). I was then asked to pick the type of cheese. I didn't notice that they were posted on the menu, but again the employee was able to tell me all the options. I was then asked if I wanted mustard and given the option for dijon or regular yellow mustard. I liked being able to customize the toppings to my liking. Oh and I was also asked to confirm if I wanted the sandwich toasted or cold. After submitting payment I was told it would only be a couple minutes until my order was ready. The establishment had plenty of table seating. It appeared clean and tidy. My name was called, I chose to take my order to-go. The sandwich was ready in a bag with napkins. The sandwich was delicious. I love a good chewy sourdough and this bread had the right texture because outside had a bite to it but the inside was soft. Ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl and the pastrami and turkey sandwich. Clam chowder was pretty good, not the best, but still a solid 7. Sandwich was amazing, good portions of meat and fresh veggies. I feel like the bread on the sandwich was top notch as far as sandwich bread goes, but on the note of sourdough, I felt like it was missing the SF sourdough twang. The service was great and the store was very clean. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for their sandwiches! read more

All I gotta say is the bread is amazing so flaky and crispy with every bite I got a turkey avocado sandwich with all of the trimmings and it was everything super mouthwatering who doesn't love an amazing sandwich. The waiter took my order. I asked for suggestions. He gave me a menu asked what I'd like and what I didn't like to make my sandwich exactly what I wanted .. It is super cute inside little tables with their logo on them so loving it. San Rafael has lots of sandwich places but this one is the best for me. Super clean location! Produce definitely tastes fresh. Was hungry after the French Market and was hunting down sandwiches. Glad we stopped here. The French Dip was pretty good. It had a nice layer of meat and the cheese was gooey. The bread was delicious as well especially when dipped into the au jus. It was a little pricey for a 6 inch sub. The service was pretty fast, and the cashier was nice! read more

This new Sourdough & Co in the Northgate mall area close to CVS is very nice. The employees are friendly. The owner of this store is very friendly. Good salads and sandwiches. If you get a salad or soup, it comes with some sourdough bread. The clam chowder is really good. You can get a Coke in a can if you're not a huge fan of fountain sodas, but they have the fountain sodas too. You can get a cup of icy cold water. Ordered Togo for lunch today. Super simple. A lettuce wrapped sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. When I walked in I said I had an order for "Katie". The guy looks at two bags and looks confused and said for who? I said "for Katie" and he tries to hand me a bag for another person to which I said "I don't think so". Conveniently the manager was doing service on the drink station and overheard it and handed me my bag that was one of the two sitting there on the counter. I got into the car and tried to have a bite of my soup. I work in healthcare and was starving.... The soup had corn in it and I figured out it was the wrong soup. I then opened my sandwich and the tomatoes and avocado I added onto my sandwich were missing and all I saw was mayo and turkey.... So I Took my sandwich back and said "I got the wrong soup" the guy tried to argue with me and tell me that I got the right soup until I said "I ordered broccoli cheddar and this has corn in it, it's the wrong one!!!" Finally he went into the back and got a cup of broccoli cheddar, which was strange he didn't fill it up in front where the soups normally are..... I'm hoping he didn't do anything to it..... I don't care how far another SD&Co is I will go there over this place. Too many mistakes and no "sorry". I would have asked to speak to a manager but had to get back to work. read more

The Good Friendly staff, clean restaurant, good seating The Bad: Sandwiches way over prices. Company used to have bigger portions of bread, now it is half size. $14.95 for a 6" Sandwich! Really? I would go next door to the habit and/or to Subway and get more for way cheaper. The Ugly: Very thin slices of beef and chicken. Final comments: If this franchise expect to continue, they need to either make the bread sandwiches and portion bigger or they will not be in business for long.
