Beef Mediterranean Bowl and Lamb Gyro Pita
    Audrey C.

I recently tried Nick the Greek and it was such a solid spot for a fresh, flavorful meal. I ordered the Mediterranean bowl with beef, and my friend got the lamb pita, both were really yummy. The bowl had a great mix of fresh ingredients, from crisp veggies to perfectly seasoned grains and sauces that tied everything together so well. The beef itself was super tender and cooked perfectly, which really stood out. My friend's lamb pita was just as good it was juicy, flavorful, and wrapped up with all the right toppings. We both kept saying how it reminded us of Cava in SoCal--it's honestly a pretty close dupe, which I loved. The only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 is because I wish there was a bit more meat in the portions. That said, the quality definitely made up for it since everything was so well-prepared and satisfying. Overall, it's a great go-to spot if you're craving something fresh, filling, and full of flavor. I'd definitely come back!

Excellent!! One of the best Grub Hub orders. The side greek salad super fresh and plentiful. The mediterranean bowl with gyro meat was outstanding. Fresh. Delicious and nicely presented.

    Gyro Bowl with Beef ($13.25)

Greenbrae's Bon Air shopping center is evolving and suddenly features a plethora of places from which to fill your stomach quickly. With the addition of the newly opened Nick the Greek, this part of Marin adds a new fast food option which, in these parts, is not unwelcome. I was one of the hundreds who queued up on the day that this outpost was offering free food to all comers and waited about 90 minutes to order and be served. The staff was downright joyful and the attitude trickled through the line; waiting was fun, not a torturous act and they kept the queue satisfied by providing sample-sized offerings of their delicious Greek froyo for which I can easily envision returning. The menu is wide-ranging featuring gyros, souvlaki, salads, and bowls with protein choices of falafel, lamb, beef, pork, pork belly, and chicken. I changed my order 100 times while queuing but finally settled on a Gyro Bowl (normally $13.25) with choice of protein (beef). This proved to be a whole lot of value for the listed price. I can't pretend that Nick the Greek is competing in the area of classic Mediterranean fare. They are operating in the category of "fast food" and I got halfway through my Gyro Bowl before tiring of the fast-food taste, something I never do with more authentic fare. But as fast food fare goes? It's nice to have this category of fare represented. Nick the Greek is a great addition to Bon Air and should get a lot of traction from students at the nearby high schools. For me? With the exception of In n' Out or any taqueria I'm not big on fast food fare but I'm certain I'll be back for the froyo and for what is the only place I've ever found to offer up Diet Dr. Pepper as a fountain soda. Welcome to Greenbrae, Nick the Greek.

Super savory Falafel Pita, made vegan without the Tzatziki
    Theart P.

Nick The Greek may be a chain restaurant but it has a nicer, locally owned feel to it in my opinion. The employees are very nice and the place is super clean. I'm really excited about the Falafel Pita (just remove the Tzatziki and it's vegan). It's really, really good and it's nice to have as a treat once in a while. They have pretty great french fries as well. Bon Center, where it's located, has plenty of parking so everything about an experience here is easy. We'll be back on a regular basis!

    Froyo with baklava

Delightful addition to the neighborhood. Food is filling and delicious - chicken is tender and moist. Frozen yogurt with baklava and honey are a delightful treat! Their chicken souvlaki pita has an amazing sauce - highly recommend. Their bowls are more hearty and savory with more texture and variety, also recommend! Owner is a total sweetheart, and the staff have been going above and beyond to make the restaurant a warm and welcoming place. Also love that they're open late. With the exception of frozen yogurt (tough to beat Straus organic), Nick the Greek is 100x better than Souvla and I am sooo grateful they've opened up at Bon Air! Keep up the great work!

Came by for the free meal on opening day. Had never tried Nick's food before, but now I'm a believer! Got a beef and lamb gyro that was delicious with a capitol D! Served hot, fresh, and tasty. Yum! The staff was working so hard, and everyone was really nice. Loved the ambiance of the place. Great seating choices. Already looking forward to coming back for the soup and falafel. Thanks Nick for lunch!

This is the best gyro/falafel Greek place in Marin. So happy they finally opened. Great fresh delicious and reasonably priced food, quick and friendly service, and easy location. And they're open late! Thanks for coming to Marin. I went Wednesday and had to go back for more on Thursday!

Off the main street in Mill Valley, Mama's Luncheonette also has fresh juices in addition to their wraps. My friend and I split the lamb wrap and, me being a fries freak, I had to try the za'atar fries: fresh potatoes fried up with spices. Za'atar is described as a traditional Middle Eastern spice blend made from herbs, sesame seeds, sumac, and salt. So delicious! The combo of lamb plus the fries definitely made for a tasty, albeit smaller, meal. Love the upbeat service here. Great spot for a casual bite to eat or when you've got a fries craving.

I have been following Mama's for a bit and was hyped to see their second outpost right at the finish line of my 10-miler. Loved the retro diner vibes, the outdoor seating, and the friendly staff. Everyone was so warm and inviting, it felt like pulling up to your favorite Auntie's house. I went with the Mama's breakfast burrito and added brisket. OMG. So, so GEWD! First came those warm, velvety smooth eggs intermingled with gooey cheddar and avocado: sinking into your palate like a plush, cloud-soft mattress of richness. The salsa verde ignites a bright, tangy spark, while those crispy tots build a shatteringly golden foundation beneath all that plush flavor. Then comes the brisket. Forget the endless debate between bacon or sausage: this brisket gives you the best of both worlds with its luscious, smokey, seasoned depth and delightfully crispy edges. Add a few drops of their smokey house salsa and it is game over. You will never want a different breakfast burrito ever again. That deep sense of accomplishment from hiking straight into a world-class burrito set me up for the ultimate afternoon nap.

Pro tip: the entire party needs to be present to be seated. Hubby and I were running late. Got there at 10:30am. Found our party seated inside. It was okay as long as they ordered without waiting for us. Comforts is both a restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining, and a separate take out deli bakery. Known for their Chinese chicken salad which we all planned to purchase at the deli after brunch. We all enjoyed what we ordered - * pork carnitas hash + eggs - hubby & BIL both had this. Very hearty meal. * stuffed pecan crusted French toast - sis had 1/2 order. I tasted it. Thought very sweet. * eggs your way- friend enjoyed. She ate the scone but left the jasmine rice. * farmers breakfast - both friend & I had this. My eggs cooked perfectly. Griddle pancakes excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. We finished brunch within an hour. Automatic gratuity as we were party of six. Then moseyed over to the deli bakery. You need to pull a number located by the bakery front door.
