Delicious pho, amazing Bahn mi, friendly staff, and great prices. You really can't ask for more. Souper Bowls is worth the trip into the mall and beyond anything I would have ever expected from a food court. We've come here regularly since trying it out and this is some of the best pho we've had locally. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. We appreciate their obvious passion for the delicious food they serve and can't wait to come back to order more! read more

Never have been a fan of eating at food courts in malls and I'm happy to say after eating here, it felt more like I went to a food truck instead of the mall. The flavors were fresh, bread was great and everything I watched from orders ahead of me - I wanted to try! We ordered the chicken banh mi, I added some side dressings that were available at counter for extra moisture and heat. The order wasn't out in a flash, but it was freshly cooked, hot, moist, veggies cool and filled us up. I left with the feeling that they truly cared about what they served. Makes a huge difference. Without a doubt if I'm at VRC mall and hungry- I don't need to think twice! The soups and rice bowls looked amazing! read more

I would have never expected pho in a shopping mall food court to be good, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. I suspect there was MSG in the food though because it left me feeling sleepy and parched afterwards. read more

Great food, and the owner CJ is super cool

One of the healthier options at the mall. I got the Grilled Pork Rice Bowl. The bowl is HUGE. I ate maybe half of it. It had a TON of pork on it which was delicious. The bowl has a great balance of veggies, protein, and rice. My only real nit pick would be that the veggies are not presented in a bite size form. You end up having to pick up a huge slice of tomato or cucumber and taking a bite out of it or trying to cut it with the side of your fork (knives not provided). The staff was super friendly and I'll definitely be going back! read more

Hopefully this business can survive whatever curse has befallen the VRC food court, because this was really such a treat! I love Vietnamese food and there's rarely anything at the food court that isn't too heavy or just played out. According to the website, "Souper Bowls specializes in Vietnamese-style dishes include Pho, Banh Mi, sandwiches and Spring Rolls. Located in the Food Court." I got Spring Rolls (2/$4), which were lovely- the rice paper was fresh, noodles were very lightly seasoned. The shrimp were huge and there was just a touch of cilantro. Now- I dislike cilantro with the fire of a thousand suns. This was nice, though. It wasn't overpowering. I could almost taste what people see in it. Almost. Next time I'll ask for no cilantro. The peanut dipping sauce was lovely. Just a hint of spice- my 4 year old loved it and started eating it straight. The egg rolls (2/$3) were a little bland for me, but I did enjoy the sweet chili dipping sauce. The pork and shrimp pho was lovely. The broth was rich and flavorful, the shrimp were huge, and the chef was more than willing to accommodate "hey can you leave xx out" requests. The noodles were the really thin rice noodles that I love, and perfectly cooked. It was $11 for the souper sized bowl but it fed three of us easily. The food was ready relatively quickly, too, which is nice with kids. I loved the bowls- they were so pretty! It felt like fine, fast-food dining. read more

I don't typically leave negative reviews but I am very unhappy with the service from Souper Bowls. I put an order online through UberEats for a bowl of pho, when I got to the restaurant the person at the counter told me they hadn't received an order. There was a to-go order sitting on the counter behind her that I pointed and politely asked if that was my order. Without even asking my name, she rudely said it wasn't mine and that I would have to put in a new order. I checked the UberEats app and saw my order was marked as complete and ready for pickup at the Valley River Souper Bowls. I was quite sick and hadnt been able to eat so I reluctantly bought another bowl of pho because I just wanted to feel better. Later the same day I saw a charge from UberEats and an additional one from Souper Bowls was posted to my bank account. When I called the restaurant the manager told me that there was nothing they could do and that I would have to take my complaint to Uber. Needless to say, I was shocked at the terrible service and will not be going back read more

Went to the food court at Valley River Mall to see if there anything yummy that struck our fancy and we stumbled upon Souper Bowls... The owner was at the counter and had us slowing down to talk food and read the menu and by the end of a fun conversation we walked away with a steak rice bowl and a chicken rice bowl. Both were amazing! Flavors were great, plenty of food to fill you up, and everything tasted freshly made. Definitely found a new lunch spot and will be trying some of the pot stickers and Pho next trip! read more

I'm not one to normally eat in a mall food court let alone write a Yelp review about a mall food court but there is one place within the Valley River Mall's food court worth mentioning. I've only eaten at Souper Bowls a couple of times. I like to order their egg rolls and then sneak- I MEAN-completely consume before going into the movie theatre. I am very VERY happy that there is a healthy vegetarian option now for me to grab and go. Before I had to settle for a side of rice or a boring bean and cheese burrito. Yet, that is not what is compelling me to leave a review. I wanted to write a review and leave a shout out to the staff. I, unfortunately, don't know her name, but she is there most Tuesday evenings. She is extremely nice, incredibly engaging, and super genuine. It was because of her that I remembered this place existed and returned. So a big thumbs up to that Employee for being so awesome!! read more

Visiting from portland, and just finished hiking and needed a fuel up! Found this place via yelp and didn't realize it was at the mall! Got 2 of the XL Beef pho bowls! Delish. Great flavor and generous portion! Satiated my hungry eyes and belly! read more

Foods good, lady at the cashier was really rude. Just trynna get 2 bowls so I rang the bell, she comes up "what do you want" so I ask my friend what he wants she says "don't hesitate you rang the bell so what do you want? In a very rude manner. Disappointed read more

Went to Souper Bowls this rainy Wednesday. After meal checkout... 1) Shirt splattered with soup and noodle fallout. (Check) 2) Nose running and sinuses drained. (Check) 3) Belly FULL. (Check) 4) Wallet still intact. (Check) 5) Lips sticking together from collagen in broth. (Fail) 6) Taste of Tripe, Tendon and other funky stuff I love. (Fail) 7) Plate full of produce I leave OUT. (Fail) 8) Desire to come back. (Meh) SO- was this a great lunch? No. It was... adequate and filled in the need for Pho. Why not better than 3 stars? I've been eating Pho for a fairly long time (I discovered it as the only white guy in the dozen "Asian for Lunch Bunch" in San Jose. I earned a place by being able to discuss the food in detail and make intelligent conversation and comparison. I've eaten literally Thousands of bowls of Pho in dozens of cities... some good, some just not impressive. I won't condemn this place as "food court food", but I'm afraid I need to damn it with faint praise. There are too many better choices in Eugene. One of the sad things about living in a small(ish) town is the praise heaped on dining places by people who have NEVER been anywhere else. I need to keep reminding myself that the best (edible item) in town may not compare favorably to San Francisco or New York or Seattle or Chicago or Philly or ..... read more

Came again to give it another go around. Delicious. Best Pho in Eugene. Period. Been to several places and it's interesting to find a good mom and pop shop with good food. Especially in a mall! $9-$11 for a massive bowl of pho? Why not?! read more

Bowl was really big and all for $7. Nice amount of chicken and fresh veggies. The condiments are easily accessible at the counter and the front of the house person has recommendations that helped add to the flavor components. I grabbed a drink and side of rice for my toddler all for under $12. Very popular spot in the food court. Glad that we stopped after a play date at the Adventure Museum. Friendly service, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices equals an A+ for me. read more

Souper Bowls - Chicken Rice Bowl-$7 - Vietnamese Near Me - Eugene, Oregon

The reviews are true. An excellent, flavorful, locally-owned joint in a mall food court. There is even a dedicated vegetarian section of the menu. I've had the tofu banh mi and veggie pho-both were great. The coconut crusted tofu is coated in a sweet and crunchy batter, totally delicious. My husband has enjoyed the various meat dishes he has tried. The service is always quick and friendly. Everything is reasonably priced. read more

Food is good, but the girl in charge is rude and immature! Won't go back !...........

This place is seriously the best!! Great food and the staff makes you feel like family when you're here.

Sooo good!!! The coconut crusted tofu was amazing! The sauce was perfect with it as well!! I'm so happy I can get good vegan food at the mall! My bf had the teriyaki chicken bowl, i had to try and it was perfect as well! I got a bit of fat on my chicken and it was sooo goood, and I do not like chicken fat lmao that proves how good it was read more

When Souper Bowls first opened the Pho was very flavorful and I could taste the authenticity. Been back numerous times and overall quality and taste has declined. Disappointed now that we no longer have a great Pho option in Eugene. read more

The food here makes going to the mall so much better! The pho and bahn mi's are tasty. You must try the coconut shrimp.

It was a pleasant surprise to stumble across Souper Bowls on my trip to the mall. I ordered the chicken banh mi. I've had my fair share of these sandwiches and it was great! Not only good food but wonderful and memorable customer service. Definitely give it a try! read more

I was really looking forward to trying out Souper Bowls' beef pho after reading the reviews. I was very disappointed. We ordered a regular and a Souper sized pho, and they gave you a good amount (one was $9, the other $11). However, I would rather go to Saigon or Pho The Good Times and receive a very large pho for $9-$10. The soup was not as rich and flavorful, and was lukewarm. I was really hoping it would be hot! I had to add a lot of condiments to add to the flavor. It's nice that they give you bean sprouts, limes, and basil though. The meat that was in my pho was really gross. It was mostly fat and the pieces that were meat, seemed to be shredded or something. It was odd. Overall, I was pretty disappointed and don't see myself returning. It was not the worst pho I have had in Eugene though. I didn't try the salad rolls, which other people seem to enjoy. The customer service was decent, no complaints. read more

This family business is amazing! My usual is the chicken rice bowl with an egg on top, so delicious! I recently tried the pineapple chicken teriyaki bowl which has become my new favorite! Also the pho is soo good! I can't say enough good things about this business! The healthiest option in the mall food court by a long shot too! I'll admit I come here just to get the food, even when I have nothing else to do at the mall. It feels great to eat such awesome, fresh food and support this family's dream! read more

Skip the pho and it's ok. Lots of bones and fat in my soup today I lost my appetite. The rice bowl I would give a 4 because it is healthier than most mall options. read more

I'm always hungry for soup. This is my first time @eugene ever. Not sure what to find. The girl at the counter was nice and friendly so I decided to give it a try. I got the wonton egg noodle soup. Broth was the best and the wonton was freshly rolled. Had to wait a few minutes but freshly made wontons worth the wait. It also has pork tenderloin (very tender and flavorful pieces) shrimps (very fresh pieces) crisp bean sprouts, shallots And scallions. Really cheap also. It is a Local Business. I LOVE my Pho. I used to always go to "Pho the good times" until I found this place. BEST pho I've ever had with real broth and not the powder crap. I went there today the owner Chris is awesome! I order my usual chicken pho which is delicious. This time I went a little overboard with the chili garlic sauce and he made it right (even though it was my fault) and gave me a fresh batch so I can eat it without sweating dramatically. Very very cool family operated business. I would recommend this to place anyone, hoping they open up there own restaurant sometime soon! Thanks again Chris! read more
