Yummy yogurt

Wow! The service was exceptional! My husband and I were driving through and stopped by for a quick snack. I got the black and blue panini and he ordered the club. We also got a sample of their potato salad. All of it was delicious! I got a yogurt to go and was very impressed!!!

Lunch portion of soup for $7 comes with bread and banana or apple. This is supposed to be chicken noodle soup by the way...

Due to limited lunch spots in the area this soup shop often gets mentioned in my office, not to mention that our in house cafeteria is filthy and unflavorful. This leaves people scrambling for options, myself included. This place is not worth it. It seems that recently they've upped their prices and a soup for lunch with a roll and banana now costs $7 instead of $6. Not a huge deal on it's own until you evaluate the actual food. With fall rolling in soup sounded great today and as I opened my chicken noodle soup all I could see were these extra large noodles in my broth. Using my small plastic spoon they gave me I could barely fit one noodle onto the spoon which made for a sloppy lunch. The real gripe was the chicken noodle part. How can you charge $7 for a small bowl of soup and literally have only three tiny cubes of chicken in the soup? The chicken didn't even seem fresh and was like the diced portion of the sides of a chicken cutlet. I got upcharged for broth that didn't even taste like chicken, lacked salt and flavor, and left me with more noodles then I knew what to do with. The pictures speak to this. Wait, isn't chicken noodle soup supposed to have vegetables too? I think I remembered seeing one soaked piece of celery but that was about it. Bare bones soup and this was during the first lunch shifts! I've experienced this place every few months, I think I forget how much of a rip off it is and then I try again. I need to stop getting desperate for food and keep some instant noodles at work instead, they're about as filling as these soups. Not worth it at all. I was left hungry and scrounging for snacks an hour later because it just wasn't filling. A big disappointment and shame on them for raising prices and cutting ingredients down! Don't waste your lunch on this.

The Soup Shoppe offers six fresh soups, a daily hot entree, some salads and a bunch of sandwiches. They get you the food pretty darn quickly. Very busy at lunch time. One option is a $7 combo of soup, roll and fruit (apple, banana, orange). I got a potato-spinach soup that was hot, pleasant and not overly salty plus a side salad which was very fresh and had tomato, cucumber etc. My unindicted co-conspirators said their chili and their sandwiches were good but the bread was nothing to write home about. Friendly staff, the counter people try to answer questions and the checkout lady calls everyone "Hon." But there are plenty of problems. Chili is listed as "market price", as if it were wild-caught salmon, strange. There's no board that lists the daily soups and no signs on pots either, so almost every customer asks the same question, what soups do you have today? Sandwiches are all pre-made and in plastic boxes in the cooler. It's fast but I don't think you can get a customized version. There is a soup and half sandwich option, which they accomplish by taking half a sandwich out of one of the boxes in the front cooler. There is no soup-and-salad special, just buy each separately. And the pricing seems a bit high. Water is $1.75 for large and $1.95 for huge bottles. Lots of overpriced sweets at the register. Saw the (large) owner but he didn't live up the bad rep given by other Yelpers :) Dining room seats about 30 people but the tables are right at the door and it has no double-door system, which makes for a chilly lunch in the winter.

Their every day chicken noodle soup!

Frikin rip off. Even for the Somerset Hills. Soup is tasty about once a week. No consistency.

Went there once and had a fruit salad. It was amazing. The place is pretty packed regularly but it's worth an experience.

Bad soup, incredibly overpriced, rude people. I would've enjoyed a can of Campbell's more, honestly. Never again!

She actually felt so bad by the level of service she was providing that she comped our dessert. The food took a long time to arrive. Our plates weren't cleared between courses. Our water glasses were never refilled. No one ever asked if our food was O.K. The first wine we chose was "unavailable."We were never given a dessert menu- we had to ask for one. We had to endure this ordeal for two hours- it took close to 20 minutes just to get the check. All this could be overlooked if the food was good but it was not. Cauliflower appetizer was undercooked and overly spiced. Chicken parm meatballs were dry. Halibut smelled very fishy which is usually not a good sign - which proved to be true. Short ribs were fatty, chewy and one dimensional and sat on a bed of vegetables that consisted of potatoes, corn, tomatoes and other unidentifiable vegetables all in an unappetizing color brown. (Those were left untouched). Some gravy or wine reduction might have helped but it was all served dry. The best dish was a side of mashed potatoes which were buttery, creamy and well-seasoned- they would have made a great bed for the short ribs to sit on instead of those sad vegetables. The Funfetti donut sundae was good. The most positive comment I can make is that they didn't rush us out! To pay as much as we did for food and service that was mediocre at best was disappointing- we will not be going back.

I always appreciate how the staff at Panera do not bother you if you spend several hours there or even close out the restaurant. Panera's menu has changed so often, and I find myself searching for my favorite food items that are no longer there (bring back the horseradish sauce, justice for the French onion soup, etc.). I have been to my share of Panera locations, and I believe this one is my favorite. It's warm inside and even has a fireplace near the entrance. The staff are all pleasant and extremely helpful. The dining area was very clean and appeared to be well-managed. Since I was there for several hours, I noticed how the staff kept up with the cleaning. I also noticed how polished and clean the silverware was compared to the Raritan location, for example. I have routinely opted out of using the silverware and instead will grab the plasticware due to my lack of confidence at the other locations, but again, this location provided clean utensils. It's always a gamble when eating out, particularly in a fast-casual chain environment. I ordered the creamy tomato soup, smokehouse bbq sandwich with customizations, and a bottled orange juice. Everything tasted as expected, good -no complaints. And again, I really appreciate Basking Ridge for not skimping out on the heat to ensure their customers feel warm and comfortable while dining in. It makes me upset to know that I could've been going to this location all along. Lastly, Panera, it is always frustrating to see your favorite food items removed from the menu or remixed without notice. This location has nothing to do with the decisions made by Panera's culinary innovation team but thought it was worth noting. I would definitely recommend trying out this location if you haven't done so already. Will take pictures next visit.
