It was so nice to actually talk to the person who is going to be installing the water heater rather than just making an appointment through an answering service. He's been installing water heaters for 20+ years. My husband and I originally wanted a tankless water heater, but Chris took the time to explain the pros and cons. I asked about other options and he explained various hot water tank options. Chris advised a high-recovery 50-gallon water heater alone would likely meet our needs, but we chose to add a mixing valve for even more available hot water. We have not run out of hot water yet, so I'm very happy. The installation took only about 40 minutes, and we couldn't be happier with the service, communication, and professionalism. I would strongly caution homeowners before doing business with this company…read more I recently purchased a home where this company had installed the water heater approximately a year before my purchase. Unfortunately, the permit associated with that installation was never properly closed out with the city before the previous homeowner passed away. After discovering the open permit, I contacted the company and spoke with Arjay Cabreta, their Permitting Coordinator. Arjay initially told me the company would help get the permit closed and would cover the associated cost. Because the unresolved permit was creating an issue for me as the new homeowner, I told Arjay that I was willing to pay the city directly to avoid further delays. He specifically told me that I would be reimbursed and that he would discuss it with management. A few days later, the company reversed course and informed me that they were no longer willing to reimburse the permit cost. That is completely unacceptable. A company should stand behind its work, follow through on permitting associated with its installations, and honor commitments made to customers and homeowners dealing with the consequences of its unfinished business. Instead, I was left dealing with an unresolved permit from their installation and a promise of reimbursement that the company later refused to honor. In my experience, this was extremely unprofessional and demonstrated a serious lack of accountability and customer service. I would not recommend doing business with this company.

What I appreciated most was that while working efficiently, the technician took the time to explain exactly why each repair was necessary. He quickly replaced the flame sensor and the igniter, getting the system back up and running in no time. He also noticed that the pressure in our underfloor heating system was insufficient, which could cause air bubbles and eventually damage the water pump over time, so he kindly adjusted and increased the pressure for us. In addition to the quick fixes, he provided valuable maintenance advice, explaining how often a gas water heater should be serviced. He also detailed why DIY maintenance is not recommended and why professional service is crucial for safety and longevity. The service was highly professional, efficient, and educational. I am very satisfied with their quality work and would highly recommend them!

This was my first time hiring 2 Sons Plumbing & Sewer. I picked them due to their immediate…read moreavailability, flexibility for doing two separate plumbing jobs on one visit, and positive reviews on Yelp. The work I needed done was the installation of a 50-gal electric hot water heater (plus haul away of the old one) and the diagnosis/replacement of a corroded waste line connector for a garbage disposal. When I set up my appointment, I made sure to clarify that I wasn't going to be charged for the service visit, or additionally, for any diagnostic steps. Keep this in mind if you're considering them because it's probably a better idea to go with a plumbing company that won't charge you just to come out and physically look at the work you want done. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry, not because something was broken, but due to the fact that completing the work quickly was pivotal to getting a condo sale to the finish line. I was able to schedule my appointment for as early as Monday despite making the initial contact with 2 Sons Plumbing on Thursday (they could've come sooner, but I opted to avoid the extra "rush" or weekend fees by waiting until Monday). One thing I didn't like about their business model is there's no upfront cost for general jobs (i.e., install a hot water heater) or any idea of hourly charges. For instance, with Lowe's and/or Home Depot, I could call and get quotes for this type of work from their subcontractors. Going through Fast Water Heater (Lowe's preferred subcontractor), a 50-gal water heater installation might run between $2,200 and $2,400 depending on the model of hot water heater (the purchase of which is included in the quote). I ended up buying a new water heater from Home Depot ($871 after taxes) a couple of days prior to my appointment with 2 Sons Plumbing, and hauling it up a few flights of stairs to the condo in order to save money. I would later find out that, had I bought the 50-gal electric water heater carried in the back of the 2 Sons Plumbing Truck, it would've cost $3600 (I have no idea why it was this expensive). In the end, I paid 2 Sons Plumbing $1870 after taxes for the installation of the Home Depot Water Heater and haul-away of my old one ($2700+ if you include the price of the hot water heater I bought on my own). In addition to the hot water heater install, I ended up paying for a new garbage disposal plus its installation because the corrosion in the waste line was so bad that new parts were needed (which they didn't have). It made more sense to just replace the whole thing (current garbage disposal was 10+ years old)--This came out to $786.88 after taxes and a 3% convenience fee for using a credit card. Overall, it was a good experience thanks to the knowledge/prep work I had done for 2 Sons Plumbing before going with them. The final cost to me certainly had the potential to be much higher had I let 2 Sons Plumbing provide or do everything. The job took about 6 hours to complete, and I paid in the ballpark of $2500 for the hourly rates (?) plus the purchase of a basic garbage disposal and a minuscule amount of parts. I overheard that the general hourly rate is $400, so what I paid aligns with that. The amount of contact and post-job follow up documentation I received (emails; texts; invoices; etc.) was thorough but also annoying (I.e., solicitation for reviews). All things considered, here's how I'd rate things: Availability/Communication: 5/5 Cost: 2/5 Technician: 5/5 Invoice/Follow-up: 3/5

Did hit a hiccup, in that the new sensor was bad and caused multiple error messages. Had to wait for the part to become available, but they keep me abreast of timing. CM Heating Review…read more We decided to go with CM Heating for several reasons. Their reviews online were very good. I talked to my neighbors to hear what their experience was and CM Heating name was brought up a couple times as a stand out company. The sales person Amber was very professional and gave us a ton of information. She was instantly responsive when I had questions. We got 3 bids for this job. I took all the information and used AI to compare the mountain of info to get its take in the bids. Cm Heating consistently had the edge over the others. The main reason was the warranty. If you are spending a fair amount of money, you need a good warranty. All said and done CM Heating was the winner Getting an install date was a breeze. All the detail work was handled by them. The office sent me the permits to print and post. Install Day I was notified of the time they would arrive and the guys were right on time Tim and Melvin sized up the job and jumped in at full speed. When it stopped heating in Winter (thankfully, we have back-up propane), CM quoted us $3,200 for a thermal expansion valve (TXV) replacement. They explicitly said that while the parts were covered under warranty, the labor was not. We got a second opinion -- and while the part failed, the second company pointed out that we had a 10 year parts and labor warranty (he was easily able to get to this info, which means CM should have, too -- especially since they sold it to me). I've now called CM several times to inform them that they need to cover the repair, but I've been ghosted. I assume this is likely because they can charge a higher rate for labor on a customer-pay job than they can be paid by the warranty company and are hoping I'll go to another company, but I have no proof of that. As far as I'm concerned, they sold me the unit and the warranty -- and they can do the repair. Once the warranty is over? I'll never deal with CM again.
