This is my new home and it's already ruined. I'm even disappointed with the services provided in our beginning conversation. The owner promised 3 men and stated that it would take "30 minutes" to also take down a playset. Not lying I have the text messages to provide it. I even provided pictures of the playset. When the guys arrived, they stated that they don't know why he said 30 minutes because it has many bolts that needs to be taken out. So the playset was never taken down. Fast forward to the actual move of the big items. I want to start by saying that the movers were very nice! But the owner did not properly communicate the need for this move, which puts them in a terrible situation. These two men tried to do an entire 5 bedroom house move in 3-4 hours resulting in a large hole in my ceiling and one of the movers throwing up extremely bad in my restroom from over exertion. I reached out to the owner and he has yet to reply with a fix for my ceiling, which was quoted $300 + by now 4 different places. I am extremely disappointed out of $600 for the move and now $300 for a hole that should be taken care of by the owner.

The Good: The lead…read more(Emra) was great. They were running late and he called to give us a heads up. He did a great job wrapping my furniture and cleaning up the messes that the other two made. If you can get him with his best guys then you will probably have a great experience other wise. The bad: The other two guys could at best he described as day laborers (hopefully) because they had no clue what they were doing and eventually after 4 hours of crying watching them pack and after the last piece of furniture was loaded we let them on their way. In the 4 hours they were here they didn't manage to pack a single room. We had prepacked most of our house so all there was to do was a couple decorative pieces which we had run out of bubble wrap for and the kitchen (everyone's nightmare) so we figured it wouldn't take long at all. The first sign of trouble was when it was clear the packers didn't know what they were doing when they stacked our prestacked piles with the top box on the bottom rather than lifting them from the bottom causing many broken boxes. The second sign of trouble was when we watched them attempt to pack our kitchen. One of them dropped a box of spices and they shattered leave about 5 pounds of sugar on our floor and we are still - a day later - finding random spices under our fridge. We also observed them pack our decorate serving bowls upside down and on multiple occasions had to have the lead repack boxes that were overstuffed and would not close (again, they were content to leave them like that). The Ugly: My wife had to explain to the packers that mattresses needed to go into a mattress bag; the guy was getting ready to take our mattress uncovered to the truck. When we had had enough was when one of the guys when instructed to put our espresso machine back into the box started tearing apart the Styrofoam so that it would fit. Luckily we stopped him in time and - in fairness - the other guy helped me figure out how everything lined up. What was the last straw for us was when we realized that our stand mixer had not yet been packed but the Styrofoam for it was there and the box not. It turned out that they had just put random stuff into it. At that point we had had enough and we just rushed them out. When we unpacked the stand mixer box we just had to laugh. Inside were all the lids for our nested Tupperware but the Tupperware itself was just sitting on the counter. The top to our tea kettle was also in that box but the tea kettle was still on our stove. We spent the rest of the night doing what we had thought we had paid professionals to do. I mean I guess we just paid $1K for a great dinner party story but I would advise you look elsewhere or be insistent on who you get. Like I said, Emra is great and this has no bearing on him but you are the company you keep and you hire so I will give him a nod and give them 2 stars but honestly avoid this company.

I read online that you could submit a claim usually if you found problems after, so when I reached out, they told me it had to be done within the time they were there (I was too busy directing them where to go even though things were labeled and didn't want to keep them after 9pm) so they offered me $50... but I had damages on multiple pieces of very expensive furniture. - They didn't have supplies for unassembly/assembly and had to use ours. They weren't able to unassemble our bed frame because they didn't have tools and although they were very careful and didn't scratch it (I hope), they did not wrap it even though I told them to be extra careful with it. - One mover didn't wear a mask during the move - I labelled most of the items on which rooms they should go to and I still had to direct them to the correct rooms. They got bedrooms mixed up and we had to move some stuff ourselves after they left. - The hourly rate has increased a lot since my first inquiry late last summer - Surcharge for using a card - had to scramble to get cash I'm pretty happy with how most of our items arrived but with scratches on certain expensive furniture pieces, I'm a bit disappointed with the service and insurance process. For the price, I don't think we even saved money by going with Triple 4. Overall, I will probably go with another moving company for my next move.

He was the only one out of the three that stayed on me if I'd made a decision on my moving company and did I have any questions at all. He came to my home and gave us several helpful tips on how to prepare before they got there so that I wouldn't have to spend as much money on the move. We followed his advice and saved a lot of time and $$$. The packers came and quickly packed our items carefully and systematically asking questions all the while. They were great about making sure that things went in a box labeled properly so I could find it when I unpacked at my new home. At my request they also used color-coded stickers to aid us all in the unloading at my new home. The following day everything was unloaded at my new home, with great care and great manners! They even went and dug out something that I mistakenly packed and needed desperately even though they were still unloading the first truck. He knew exactly where it was which blew me away! Everything arrived safe and sound, no scratches, and nothing broken. They were so helpful in every way. Moving is so stressful even if it's only across town. By the owner's constant communication and the great work ethic of these employees, I could not be happier!

Well I hired them in July and was Wow'd. Decided to hire them to do a load/unload this weekend. One…read moreword, disappointed, & it doesn't even begin to describe it! I clarified w/owner Blake my move details verbally & text regarding time constraints. Tenants lease a dock from the City, it closes at 7PM. The moving truck must be out, then the freight elevators close at 10pm. Job was to start at 2:30PM. I reminded the guy who arrived first (Will) of the timeline. 2nd, one of the guys was 10-15 minutes late. But the charge clock was started at 2:30 anyway. They showed up with no dolly or tools. Luckily I had one. Then the late guy actually knew my neighbors & frequently stopped to call out "Jenna" the whole time. My brother & I had moved everything downstairs except two recliners & a shoe rack. We boxed everything up that we could, for easy packing of the truck as I'd recently been hospitalized & wearing a heart monitor on & my bro wanted to make it easy as he had a flight. Boy were we wrong. Took them 1+ hours for the boxes alone. 30ft max from house to curb! to load the boxes alone. They kept asking for more boxes, I asked them what else can you do. We were on a timeline. I asked Will if he told his partner about Being at the dock by 5pm. He said he no, I did, & confused he asked me if this was a load/unload. I went inside to call the owner. Blake asks me if the guys said they could stay. (So they thought the bad a 5 hour load job? How?) At 5:30p we left with 85% of my things. Gave them the address an instructions on how to get to the dock. I arrived at 6:05PM. They're lost, I give directions again. I start unloaded. 6:13p they pull up. I literally with my heart racing helped unload the truck even the fridge. Oh yeah and they broke and scratched up so much stuff as they were loading/unloading. We just now had to get the items off the truck before 7pm as the truck had to leave the city dock but there are cameras w/an officer so my items would be safe as they made the move inside. But here's the kicker. At 6:46pm, we have finished unloading the truck. Wait! You read that right! The same truck they "loaded" for almost 3 hours. It's 1BR apt worth if things, a fridge & two bikes. Anyway, I take them inside, show them the path & how to use the elevators to get moving upstairs. The guy tells me after the 5 hour mark the rate would be $37.50/hr due to the confusion or whatever. I gave them the fob and key to the empty apartment so they could work while I moved the truck. I left at 7:09pm. I got back, & yes the truck rental was far due to it being early in the month. I had to drive 40 min one way then get access when I got back, as I'd left my fob w/them. The movers didn't answer my calls (likely to lack of service down at the dock). I get down to the dock finally expecting to see some progress, all they'd done is move my things 50ft from the dock to the elevator door. Now outside of the cameras & police tower view. I asked them in awe why not upstairs. The guy replied "oh we wanted to get it all closer to the door so it's less walking". Now I'm pissed. It's 9:13pm. No way to get it all upstairs by 10pm. I called the owner again!! Asked why did he send me guys incapable of doing this job! He basically listened & offered to send me another crew the next day at a discounted price. I said how? As I'm paying NOW. He charged me the full hourly rate anyway as I stopped the clock! I was paying for nothing basically because I had help load/unload. Sick no less. Well from 2:45p to 9:19pm the second photo shows how I ended up with this company. The owner called back, said he'd thought about it & would get someone out the next afternoon for no charge! Duh! I already paid YOU. MY THINGS ARE OUTSIDE in a tunnel, unsecured! I said I'd have to sleep outdoors now b/c they moved it outside of security! I'm livid and just say ok. I called my brother who's made it home to Houston to start asking for help finding emergency movers while I load the elevators. I made two trips upstairs by myself before 10pm. SMH. The emergency movers showed up & since it was after midnight I ended up paying the same amount I had to the first company for TWO HOURS of work!!! Luckily I'd been making videos of the progress to build a time lapse of the move & captured their slowness. I can fully support this review with visuals!! DO NOT use them!! You're wasting your time & your money. I don't know anyone who wants to trash money!! The owner did text the next day, asked if I still needed them. I simply replied "nope". Worst experience moving ever. They weren't qualified nor prepared & the owner knew that! I could see that they diligently wrapped the items in protective lining, even the items with some pre-existing damage to make sure there was no further damage. They also uninstalled, and then at the new location reinstalled my washer dryer perfectly. Overall, I paid exactly what I expected and the service was outstanding.

Your problem Marcus is you don't ever "do the right thing" and are as shady as they come. I will deal with you legally and it will not cost me a dime.

We requested a crew of three movers, but they showed up with four. One of the crew members appeared to be very young and inexperienced, possibly under 17. Instead of helping move items efficiently, he spent a long time trying to dismantle a crib with a screwdriver. I politely suggested that they simply move the crib without taking it apart, since it would save time. Apparently, he didn't appreciate the suggestion and went to speak with the crew leader. To my surprise, the entire crew stopped working and refused to continue until I left my daughter's house. They claimed it was because of "liability," but they couldn't clearly explain what liability they were referring to. We ended up losing about 45 minutes before they finally resumed the move. The entire experience was very unprofessional. Before the job started, everyone was friendly, but once they began working, the pace was extremely slow. It often felt like they were moving one small item at a time instead of working efficiently. A four-person crew took nearly the entire day to move the contents of a four-bedroom house less than a mile away. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Step-by-Step Moving & Delivery. If you're looking for movers who work efficiently and professionally, I would suggest considering other companies. This photo shows the moving crew standing around instead of working. We waited nearly 45 minutes while the job was at a standstill after I politely suggested a faster way to move a crib.
