I am pleased to say that we have now used David and First Choice Movers twice in the past year, and in both instances they were outstanding! We sold a large custom home last year and moved into a smaller rental home for one year while our new one was being built. When I contacted David, the owner, he was very responsive and we had many conversations over a few days about our services that we needed. There were extenuating circumstances that many movers would not handle, but David said there would not be a problem and went so far as to say that his workers could do the job. When the day came to move our belongings, his workers refused to do the work and left without telling my husband anything. He assumed they were leaving to get the truck because they arrived only in an SUV. David called me to let me know, while I was at a prior commitment. I went out and got three different bids from movers in the local Fort Worth Keller area. I was immediately impressed by the owners constant communication with me from the very beginning Up until the very end of our move. He was the only one out of the three that stayed on me if I'd made a decision on my moving company and did I have any questions at all. He came to my home and gave us several helpful tips on how to prepare before they got there so that I wouldn't have to spend as much money on the move. We followed his advice and saved a lot of time and $$$. The packers came and quickly packed our items carefully and systematically asking questions all the while. They were great about making sure that things went in a box labeled properly so I could find it when I unpacked at my new home. At my request they also used color-coded stickers to aid us all in the unloading at my new home. The following day everything was unloaded at my new home, with great care and great manners! They even went and dug out something that I mistakenly packed and needed desperately even though they were still unloading the first truck. He knew exactly where it was which blew me away! Everything arrived safe and sound, no scratches, and nothing broken. They were so helpful in every way. Moving is so stressful even if it's only across town. Called first choice moving for our move all they had to do was to move our big items, 2 beds, 2 marble tables, a curio cabinet, side board, 2 tv's that was already boxed by us, they sent out a 2 man crew & it took them 8hrs & 45 minutes. We moved the all our other items ourselves they didn't have to box anything. It took them such a long time & didn't move all our items, I put a plastic pad around our mattress by the time it go to the other place we was moving too it was ripped. Moving is generally not a pleasant experience. This company made it as pleasant as it could be. The crew showed up on time and were very polite and courteous. They worked efficiently and needed minimal direction. All beds were disassembled by the crew including a baby crib, and all were put back together at the new house without any hardware missing. All furniture, TV's and anything that wasn't boxed was shrink wrapped and/or wrapped in blankets. The owner followed up with my wife a couple of time throughout the day checking in on how everything was going. Nothing was damaged or lost. I was very impressed with the crew and overall service we received. Considering prior moving experiences I have had, I was relieved how smooth everything went on moving day. This was definitely the best move I've ever had, and it had all of the ingredients for being the worst. We were closing on both old and new house on the same day, had to move out the day before closing, and move in on closing day. Management was great. They kept me updated along the way with times, tips, etc. Constantly checked in with me to get ideas on when and what would work. I will say that you can never be sure with the actual movers because crews change, but a helpful management is important. Saying that though, our crew was amazing! Three of the hardest working guys I've ever seen. They've apparently been with the company for a while which is why I definitely suggest these guys. Everything was handled with care and they even helped pack up a few loose items. I've thought if I ever reviewed a moving company, it would be bad. Thankfully, I was wrong. First Choice moved me out of a three bedroom pool home with a full garage and outdoor furniture, pots, and such into a considerably smaller condo. They packed some of my smaller things the day before and were quick, efficient and reasonable. Moving day was next and three guys moved everything into the condo AND a storage unit without a hitch! I have huge pieces of furniture they somehow managed to maneuver through a tiny hallway into the condo. Nothing was broken, no scratches anywhere, no rubs, nothing. We recently used First Choice Moving when we moved from N.Garland to Plano. At first it seemed that we had picked the perfect company. The owner was attentive to our needs and flexible since we were having issues with our close date. On the day of the move the men showed up on time and worked really hard to load the trailer...however, it took a nasty turn from leaving our house in N Garland to the new home. In the time we left one of the guys managed to get quite drunk. They tried to blame it on drugs he forgot to take but since we could smell it on his breath we were sure that he was drunk. The supervisor, Angel, called it a day and left Lee in charge of Eric(man who got drunk) which was unfortunate. In the process of 30 minutes at the new house Eric, cursed our neighbors, flipped one of them off and threw about 10 boxes on the lawn and inside our home. I called the owner, David, which tried by phone to get the details from Lee. This only slowed our move down which by this time we were paying to watch them fight and try to get a handle on Eric. Once Eric left, we were only left with 2 guys for our move and we had booked 3 guys. The owner didn't seemed that concerned. About an hour later another guy showed to help with the move but at this point it was dark and the guys were moving really slow. Lee was complaining he hadn't eaten all day, which isn't our problem. We paid them for an extra two hours while we had issues to just sit there and wait, regain their strength and get hydrated. The loading only took 2 hours but the unloading took 4 hours.....? The owner had no response. Better yet, it was hard for him to actually answer any question he was asked. He would rather of talked in circles, hoping to confuse you so you wouldn't know where you started. On top of that, the movers damaged our table by putting to many heavy items on top of it. They didn't want to pay or compensate us for any of the issues that came about on this move or the behavior of his workers. If you are looking for unstable workers and an owner who doesn't care then they are the movers for you. read more

The men who moved our items were great - but after unboxing, found a plastic container of framed photos missing. It was several weeks after our move - not something missed until we looked for it. Sent a message to website - unanswered, called and representative told me I should have called the next day after move - he then went through their process, and told me the container was here. I feel certain it was one of the very first containers they loaded, low to the ground, and missed. The box has no value to anyone else but us. Left another online message, offering reward, and again - no response. Very poor customer service. read more

Horrible experience! I hired First Choice Movers to move my items from a house in McKinney to an apartment in Plano. What a disaster! The owner was too lazy to come out to my home to give an accurate quote so just provided a phone estimate. The cost ended up being double $1,000 vs $500, the truck could only fit two-thirds of my things which ended up leaving me to make 10+ additional trips using 3 SUV's to finish the move. In addition, the movers broke/lost parts to 3 furniture items (one was my sons crib which cannot be used anymore), didn't not shrink wrap MOST of my furniture items, made rude comments and worked at a snails pace. When we contacted the owner during the process and after he would not take ownership for any of issues and only made excuses. They should not be in business. read more

We used First Choice Movers a couple of days ago to move from a two-bedroom apartment to house and these guys did an incredible job. First they were able to accommodate a same-day appointment. They showed up on time. Everyone on the crew spoke perfect English! They came prepared with all the furniture wraps, plastic wrap, free boxes for us to use, and even a tool-kit to help us take down the TV mount from the wall! They worked very efficiently and packed up and delivered everything with absolutely no damages. All three of the guys were extremely friendly and courteous.
