I think this was Malaysian Curry

I was between the border of South San Francisco and Pacifica and wanted to try a new restaurant out and I decided on this one with some friends. This restaurant is right off the Skykine blvd and the starting point of entering Pacifica where if you keep going you will hit the ocean and be one with the sunset. This appears to be popular with the locals as we saw many people came in to order takeout. The owner and waiters were nice and checked on us with our meals. We ordered four dishes the beef chow fun had good flavor and texture. The Maylaysian Curry was Cooked with chicken, beef BBQ pork, and prawns along with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and carrots and had great flavor we enjoyed. It goes great over white rice. Salt & Pepper Pork Chop was Crispy pork chop tossed in garlic and jalapeno was great texture and crispiness but wish it had more flavor to it but overall a solid dish. And k always enjoy a good Eggplant in Spicy Garlic Sauce that was Eggplant sauteed with mushrooms and onions in a spicy garlic sauce was good as well. I hope to come back again to try other dishes. All the diners seem to be having a good time. This is a solid restaurant to come eat here. Yummy in my tummy and I hope to try the Truffle Beef Mushroom Fried Rice and Honey Walnut Prawns with Pumpkin sounds yummy in my future tummy

Came here for lunch today with my family since we wanted to check this place out for the first time. We ordered the basil garlic eggplant, salt & pepper pork chop, honey walnut prawn with pumpkin, and chicken chow mein. When I was ordering the third dish and kept going for a fourth, the waiter actually said it might be enough food already I was a little surprised, but also thought it was pretty honest of him. Since it was our first time, we just wanted to try more dishes anyway. Overall, the basil garlic eggplant was the highlight for me, flavorful with that nice wok hei, I really enjoyed it. The chicken chow mein was decent. The pork chop and prawns were flavorful too, but I did notice a slight "old oil" taste that I personally didn't like. The restaurant itself is small and simple, with a small parking lot right in front, which is convenient. :)

I saw this place on Tik Tok and wanted to check it out. I came here for dinner on a Friday night and took a look at the menu. First thing I thought was the pricing on these items were very close if not the same as if I were dining in San Francisco. I don't mind paying a higher price for really delicious food. However, this was not the case unfortunately. Service was decent, but the food was very lacking in flavor and seasoning. The wings were crispy, but very dry. I wish they came with a side of sauce for dipping. The beef chow fun was decent. I felt like the noodles were too fat and the addition of cabbage threw me off. The biggest disappointment for me was the kung pao chicken. It was not spicy at all and it almost looked like the kitchen ran out sauce. The main theme here overall for dinner was very dry and no sauce! I like my food saucy so I will not we back to diner here. I am sorry, but I felt like kung pao chicken from Panda Express was 10 times better! I would not recommend this place, but please be the judge for yourself . The one thing I did like was their jasmine tea.

I stumbled upon this place online after randomly watching someone review this spot and mention their delicious honey walnut shrimp (one of my FAVE dishes) and I'm SO glad I bookmarked this spot to try it! I called ahead to make a reservation for me and my friend and I really recommend this if you want to dine-in. It's a small restaurant and there aren't that many tables inside but it also seems most customers order for takeout here. Quite a lot of people were waiting for their to-go orders when I was there. My friend and I were pretty hungry so we tried: - scallion pancake - honey walnut prawn with pumpkin (of course) - beef chow fun - garlic noodles 10/10 for all of them and very reasonably priced! I'm a noodle fiend and I loved the chow fun and garlic noodles. Solid portion sizes and delicious flavors. I was most excited for the honey walnut prawns and it did NOT disappoint. It was a first for me to have it served with pumpkin and it was really good! I also really appreciated the kind and attentive service. The only small issue I experienced was parking: very limited parking near the restaurant but thankfully I was able to find a spot in the nearby neighborhood, which will probably be your best bet. Expect a short walk to get back to the restaurant. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this place and I highly recommend to anyone looking for some authentic Chinese food without breaking the bank!

Came here for dinner to catch up with a friend and I was so pleasantly surprised! It's definitely a kind of random spot. From the outside it looks like a restaurant that I wouldn't bother going to based on location, kind of a hole in the wall place. But my friend said she was influenced by social media that this place was worth trying, and omg it was actually very good! Scallion pancakes were so flakey, wish there was a sauce to pair with this but it was still good without. Honey walnut shrimp, beef chow fun, and garlic noodles were all so good as well. I did not expect the food to be so good in a random place like this. Parking is a little bit annoying but my friend found street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Bathroom is a little icky but pretty normal for a hole in the wall place, at least they have a bathroom lol. Food for the two of us (with ample leftovers) cost like $70 with tax and tip. The restaurant even packed the leftovers for us which was nice. Overall, do not sleep on this place, it's got some really good food!

I'm happy to have found a neighborhood restaurant that serves above average Chinese food. Their menu isn't too extensive but does contain some of the more common and popular dishes. I ordered to go by calling in my order and was quoted 10-15 minutes. Four dishes totaled a little under $65. Mongolian beef - sizeable portion with a good amount of tender beef Green onion pancake - a little too deep fried and oily but not terrible Salt and pepper spareribs - crispy, flavorful and juicy with lots of jalapeños Sautéed string beans - good flavor The restaurant itself has a decent size dining room. Parking in the little lot is challenging as many of the spots are marked for other businesses. Overall a good choice for those lazy weeknights when takeout is better than cooking. Prices are a bit high for Chinese food but comparable to most places these days.

Went on a trip to Asia to Japan, Taiwan, and Korea and am so glad to finally have a nice succulent Chinese meal back in the Bay Area!! Chatted with the owner Daniel for a minute. Really cool, chill guy and made me feel right at home. I got his recommendations of the salt n pepper pork chops and Mongolian beef and they definitely hit the spot! The portions are MASSIVE and prices are very reasonable. Salt n pepper pork chops are perfectly fried and crispy while still juicy in the inside. Mongolian beef has a nice kick to it.. I'm a big spice fan so added the chili sauce on the side and it did the trick . Also ordered a side of the string beans and they were crunchy with an excellent taste. Other places over cook it and it gets too soggy but these were done to perfection maintaining its firm integrity. I'll order this every time forsure. I love the hole in the wall vibe here. They played good chill music and have lots of nice cultural artwork. They also do take out.. can't wait to try the other dishes like salt n pepper chicken wings/fish and fried rice. Ended up having a ton of food to take home. I'll def be coming back and for those lazy days...I'll hit up Soul Rice on door dash for take out

Big fan of these guys. Everything was DELICIOUS. And the service - top notch. Really looking forward to trying the house specialties. On my visit - had the Mongolian Beef, wings app, and curry chicken fried rice. All were excellent and totally hit the spot.

Been here twice already and it's been solid both times. Food is really good -- fresh, tasty, Clean and comes out quick. No complaints at all. Owner is super friendly and actually checks in on you, which you don't see everywhere. Service is on point. Definitely a spot I'd come back to again.

This is a clean, reasonable restaurant the food is phenomenal I love Chinese food and this place is not in the open but it's a must find. Service from the waitress and the owner is at a high, You can't ask for more. Wonton soup, walnut shrimprice, Korean chicken, salt & pepper fish, chicken & shrip are so...good I can't complain and I can't see me eating Chinese food anywhere else now.

Really good. Just don't know what to say. But is good.

Kenny's Cafe is not fancy and by no means a fine dining establishment, but if you're into a clean restaurant with staff that takes care of their customers. Then perhaps this is a great place to try. I've worked in a restaurant for nearly half my life and I can honestly tell that it takes quite the effort to uphold a level of cleanliness and consistency especially given the fact that they've been there for over 30 years. I had their salt and pepper pork, well portioned, crispy batter, decently priced with all the right fixings and flavors.. I was not disappointed. I've also tried their prime rib which is a special every other Friday of the week and for $30, you get two sides and a soup. I was impressed with what they served and everything was cooked to standard. (Which is hard to find nowadays) Too clean and well kept to be a hole in the wall but with mountains on one side and the ocean in a tucked cove on the other, Pacifica is definitely worth the trip.

We sat down in this homey restaurant that felt like we'd been transported back in time to 1997 or so which I liked for a change. Nestled in an unassuming strip mall by some martial arts studio and a few other restaurants and stores. We ordered way too much food and the plates were huge. Highlights were the fried shredded pork with jalapenos, hot and sour soup, and orange chicken though everything was great. Best hot and sour soup I've ever had, great spice level and depth of flavor. The fried shredded pork was seasoned perfectly and went great with everything. We also had bbq pork chow mein and I was pleasantly surprised by the bbq pork being obviously house made fresh and not dried out bright red 40 like most places. Service and value were both great with a huge amount of leftovers and very accomadating but not suffocating service. We had about 7 dishes and it was about a hundred. The chefs are two brothers, and the terrific Ricardo, at the front, is one of the chef's sons. They are a wonderful family. If you've bypassed this place but never stopped in, or if you're from the North Pacifica or Montara, Moss Beach or El Granada, it is definitely worth the trip -- it'll become one of your favorite (if not THE favorite) Chinese restaurant on the coast.

We left full and still had plenty to enjoy while we were there. One thing I like about this restaurant is the dine in experience. They use actual cloth table covers and serve tea when you sit down, which gives it a more traditional feel. The larger tables also have lazy susans which makes sharing dishes easy and fun, especially when you come with family. The service was fantastic. They made helpful suggestions and also made sure we did not over order, which I appreciated. You can tell they want you to enjoy the meal, not just spend more money. The food overall was really good. I normally do not like hot and sour soup but they nailed it here. It was perfectly balanced and loaded with ingredients like tofu and mushrooms, super delicious and comforting. The fried rice was great and the Mongolian beef was done just right. A lot of places overload that dish with onions and green onions but this one was balanced perfectly. The sweet and sour pork was just ok for me, not bad but not my favorite dish of the meal. Even with that, I was still very happy with everything we ordered. I left feeling satisfied and taken care of. This spot delivers both on food and service, and it is the kind of place I would come back to when I want a relaxed sit down Chinese meal done right.

Very disappointing experience…read more My mom has been a loyal customer here for over 5 years. Even if there's ever been an issue with a dish or the service, she's the type of person who just lets it go and never complains. Today was the first time she actually had a problem. She called in an order for salt and pepper prawns because she had been craving them all day. She picked up the food for our family, and when she got home, we realized they had given us salt and pepper pork instead. Mistakes happen, so I called the restaurant and they told me to bring back the pork and they'd have the correct order ready. When I got there, instead of apologizing or simply exchanging the order, they kept insisting my mom had ordered pork. I explained that misunderstandings happen over the phone, but my mom absolutely ordered the prawns. They refused to believe us. Then they wanted to charge an extra $5 for the prawns. At that point, I was tired of going back and forth. It honestly felt like they cared more about nickel-and-diming us over an extra $5 than providing good customer service. I finally said, "Fine, I'll pay." The husband just responded with, "Go," in a very rude tone. That was the moment I realized they were more focused on collecting the extra $5 than taking care of a loyal customer. The $5 wasn't even the issue--it was the principle. We drove back because of their mistake, returned the incorrect order, and were still expected to pay extra for the meal that was originally ordered. After supporting this restaurant for over five years, my mom wasn't given the benefit of the doubt even once. Customer service goes a long way, especially with long-time customers. Unfortunately, this experience showed us that loyalty doesn't seem to matter here. If you order takeout, I'd recommend having them repeat your order back to you a few times before you hang up to avoid the same situation.

They had a variety of meat choices and yes prime beef ribeye! You can either grill it or drop it on your soup. You can also create your condiments to dip your grilled meats. The rib eye, beef belly, pork belly were my favorites. You can tell the meats were of high quality and were fresh. You only need to grill the rib eye medium rare and wow it's amazingly delicious!!! Also they have a wide variety of appetizer, vegetable, seafood, tofu, I can go on! The Kalbi ribs as one of the appetizer was one of the best Kalbi I ever had.
