Honey Walnut Prawns w/Pumpkin

Delicious food!!! What a gem tucked in Pacifica. Had the sizzling rice soup, honey walnut prawns w pumpkin and salt and paper fish. Delicious, flavorful, and good customer service. Will definitely be back

I stumbled upon this place online after randomly watching someone review this spot and mention their delicious honey walnut shrimp (one of my FAVE dishes) and I'm SO glad I bookmarked this spot to try it! I called ahead to make a reservation for me and my friend and I really recommend this if you want to dine-in. It's a small restaurant and there aren't that many tables inside but it also seems most customers order for takeout here. Quite a lot of people were waiting for their to-go orders when I was there. My friend and I were pretty hungry so we tried: - scallion pancake - honey walnut prawn with pumpkin (of course) - beef chow fun - garlic noodles 10/10 for all of them and very reasonably priced! I'm a noodle fiend and I loved the chow fun and garlic noodles. Solid portion sizes and delicious flavors. I was most excited for the honey walnut prawns and it did NOT disappoint. It was a first for me to have it served with pumpkin and it was really good! I also really appreciated the kind and attentive service. The only small issue I experienced was parking: very limited parking near the restaurant but thankfully I was able to find a spot in the nearby neighborhood, which will probably be your best bet. Expect a short walk to get back to the restaurant. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this place and I highly recommend to anyone looking for some authentic Chinese food without breaking the bank!

Came here for dinner to catch up with a friend and I was so pleasantly surprised! It's definitely a kind of random spot. From the outside it looks like a restaurant that I wouldn't bother going to based on location, kind of a hole in the wall place. But my friend said she was influenced by social media that this place was worth trying, and omg it was actually very good! Scallion pancakes were so flakey, wish there was a sauce to pair with this but it was still good without. Honey walnut shrimp, beef chow fun, and garlic noodles were all so good as well. I did not expect the food to be so good in a random place like this. Parking is a little bit annoying but my friend found street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Bathroom is a little icky but pretty normal for a hole in the wall place, at least they have a bathroom lol. Food for the two of us (with ample leftovers) cost like $70 with tax and tip. The restaurant even packed the leftovers for us which was nice. Overall, do not sleep on this place, it's got some really good food!

I'm happy to have found a neighborhood restaurant that serves above average Chinese food. Their menu isn't too extensive but does contain some of the more common and popular dishes. I ordered to go by calling in my order and was quoted 10-15 minutes. Four dishes totaled a little under $65. Mongolian beef - sizeable portion with a good amount of tender beef Green onion pancake - a little too deep fried and oily but not terrible Salt and pepper spareribs - crispy, flavorful and juicy with lots of jalapeños Sautéed string beans - good flavor The restaurant itself has a decent size dining room. Parking in the little lot is challenging as many of the spots are marked for other businesses. Overall a good choice for those lazy weeknights when takeout is better than cooking. Prices are a bit high for Chinese food but comparable to most places these days.

"Soul Rice is the go-to favorite for my son and me, whether we are starving or just finishing up a mountain of laundry next door. The service is always incredibly fast, making it the perfect spot for a quick bite. I was actually joking with my son that the owner, Daniel, would greet him by name--and he did! It's that kind of personal touch that makes this place so special. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, though the dining area is small, so we often opt for takeout. I always leave satisfied, especially after having my favorite - Garlic Noodles adding shrimps to this dish, which are packed with flavor. The prices are very reasonable, usually ranging between $10 and $20 per person. Thank you, Daniel!"

Went on a trip to Asia to Japan, Taiwan, and Korea and am so glad to finally have a nice succulent Chinese meal back in the Bay Area!! Chatted with the owner Daniel for a minute. Really cool, chill guy and made me feel right at home. I got his recommendations of the salt n pepper pork chops and Mongolian beef and they definitely hit the spot! The portions are MASSIVE and prices are very reasonable. Salt n pepper pork chops are perfectly fried and crispy while still juicy in the inside. Mongolian beef has a nice kick to it.. I'm a big spice fan so added the chili sauce on the side and it did the trick . Also ordered a side of the string beans and they were crunchy with an excellent taste. Other places over cook it and it gets too soggy but these were done to perfection maintaining its firm integrity. I'll order this every time forsure. I love the hole in the wall vibe here. They played good chill music and have lots of nice cultural artwork. They also do take out.. can't wait to try the other dishes like salt n pepper chicken wings/fish and fried rice. Ended up having a ton of food to take home. I'll def be coming back and for those lazy days...I'll hit up Soul Rice on door dash for take out

Big fan of these guys. Everything was DELICIOUS. And the service - top notch. Really looking forward to trying the house specialties. On my visit - had the Mongolian Beef, wings app, and curry chicken fried rice. All were excellent and totally hit the spot.

Food was excellent, generous portions, good ambiance, clean, fast and friendly service. Best honey walnut prawns and Chow Fun ever had. Shrimp dumplings good too! Only drawback is the parking. Not enough. I was with a friend who had a placard so we got parking. Maybe lunch time is easier.

Great comfort Chinese food for a great price. The portions here are huge for what they charge. We ordered scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup, pan fried noodles, and chow fun. The scallion pancakes were super crispy and delicious. The noodles are heaping with vegetables and the protein. The service here is very friendly, and the restaurant is simple and clean. Also very easy to park right out front.

This is the face of the restaurant. You need to come over and check out their menu! It was my first time here as we are currently working near by: The food, the service, the ambience, everything was amazing! We ordered, Mongolian Beef, Cashew chicken, orange chicken, and other things to complement. Definitely encourage others to visit this place.

The chicken wings are an absolute must order item perfectly crispy batter on the outside and incredibly juicy inside. The truffle fried rice, one of their signature dishes, smells amazing and tastes truly authentic. You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and well balanced. It's a small, cozy spot that definitely makes you want to come back. Also a great option for party orders.

A friend of the family recommended that we give Soul rice a try as it was their go to. Dropped in for dinner on a weekday. Small, intimate, with big windows for natural light to shine in. Parking is limited. We ordered a bunch of classics/what they are known for. Made to order. We sat at a high top table in a corner by the window. Once the food started coming out, oh the aromas that were filling my nose. Everything we ate was delicious, fresh, quality+++, and on point. This will def be in rotation. SUPERB modern Chinese cuisine.

The minced meat sauce was flavorful, noodles had a nice chew, and the fresh cucumber and carrots added a good crunch. Not too salty, not too oily--just right. Portions were generous, presentation was nice, and everything tasted clean and comforting. Definitely a solid spot for comfort Chinese food. We'll 100% be back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend if you love dumplings and noodles.

You get some complimentary salted peanuts for the table to start. For our food, we ordered the spicy wontons, the pan fried soup dumplings, the pork and tofu in golden soup, beef noodle soup, green onion pancake, and some pork dumplings. They provide chili oil, soy sauce, and vinegar at the table for you. Everything tasted fine, but I thought the noodles used in the beef soup were a bit on the bland side - it didn't really soak up the flavor of the broth. The pan fried dumplings were my favorite dish - they also provide these giant whimsical soup spoons that you can use to eat these - there really wasn't any soup inside that spilled out when you bit into it, but the ratio to bread and meat was good and tasted nice with the vinegar and soy sauce drizzled on top.

After Covid, almost NO customers, and quite frankly I've wondered how they've lasted this long. Today, I placed my order, over the phone, and I should have sensed something then. The owner, IN ALL FAIRNESS, has been kind, decent, and pleasant. Hell, I remember us talking about his mom before she passed. But, today, he was so agitated. Walked in. And as I have done everytime, "Hey! How's it going?" An incoherent statement that I could not make out. Sorry. Excuse me. "I don't want to be here." Ummmmm, like on earth, or just at work. AND THE ANGRY DIATRIBE STARTED!!!!! He began to tell me about the exorbitant cost of his property tax, water, and PG&E, which is CRAZY!!!! I offer, "Maybe downsize to a smaller building." In a huff, "I own the building." Then I said, "Well shit is high because of the idiot in the white house." Then I said, "Ohhhhhh you're a trumper!" Ooooooooo WHY DID I SAY THAT He got all in his feels (as they all do), trying to say that is not why. Hmmm. Oh really???? His ass was alllllllll damn upset, two minutes earlier. Why do you D.A.M. say the same stupid shit? "I didn't vote for this." No, SIR....WE didn't vote for this, but be mad at the right people! Not your fucking customers! I'll be going to Soul Rice! So I suspect Tam's is going under soon!

We left full and still had plenty to enjoy while we were there. One thing I like about this restaurant is the dine in experience. They use actual cloth table covers and serve tea when you sit down, which gives it a more traditional feel. The larger tables also have lazy susans which makes sharing dishes easy and fun, especially when you come with family. The service was fantastic. They made helpful suggestions and also made sure we did not over order, which I appreciated. You can tell they want you to enjoy the meal, not just spend more money. The food overall was really good. I normally do not like hot and sour soup but they nailed it here. It was perfectly balanced and loaded with ingredients like tofu and mushrooms, super delicious and comforting. The fried rice was great and the Mongolian beef was done just right. A lot of places overload that dish with onions and green onions but this one was balanced perfectly. The sweet and sour pork was just ok for me, not bad but not my favorite dish of the meal. Even with that, I was still very happy with everything we ordered. I left feeling satisfied and taken care of. This spot delivers both on food and service, and it is the kind of place I would come back to when I want a relaxed sit down Chinese meal done right.

They had a variety of meat choices and yes prime beef ribeye! You can either grill it or drop it on your soup. You can also create your condiments to dip your grilled meats. The rib eye, beef belly, pork belly were my favorites. You can tell the meats were of high quality and were fresh. You only need to grill the rib eye medium rare and wow it's amazingly delicious!!! Also they have a wide variety of appetizer, vegetable, seafood, tofu, I can go on! The Kalbi ribs as one of the appetizer was one of the best Kalbi I ever had.
