Kenny's Cafe is not fancy and by no means a fine dining establishment, but if you're into a clean restaurant with staff that takes care of their customers. Then perhaps this is a great place to try. I've worked in a restaurant for nearly half my life and I can honestly tell that it takes quite the effort to uphold a level of cleanliness and consistency especially given the fact that they've been there for over 30 years. I had their salt and pepper pork, well portioned, crispy batter, decently priced with all the right fixings and flavors.. I was not disappointed. I've also tried their prime rib which is a special every other Friday of the week and for $30, you get two sides and a soup. I was impressed with what they served and everything was cooked to standard. (Which is hard to find nowadays) Too clean and well kept to be a hole in the wall but with mountains on one side and the ocean in a tucked cove on the other, Pacifica is definitely worth the trip.

We sat down in this homey restaurant that felt like we'd been transported back in time to 1997 or so which I liked for a change. Nestled in an unassuming strip mall by some martial arts studio and a few other restaurants and stores. We ordered way too much food and the plates were huge. Highlights were the fried shredded pork with jalapenos, hot and sour soup, and orange chicken though everything was great. Best hot and sour soup I've ever had, great spice level and depth of flavor. The fried shredded pork was seasoned perfectly and went great with everything. We also had bbq pork chow mein and I was pleasantly surprised by the bbq pork being obviously house made fresh and not dried out bright red 40 like most places. Service and value were both great with a huge amount of leftovers and very accomadating but not suffocating service. We had about 7 dishes and it was about a hundred. Probably my second favorite chinese restaurant I've ever been to in my life.

Besides the items I mentioned in earlier reviews, want to shout out the excellent Hot & Sour Soup, full of so many different delicious ingredients, it has become one of my favorite H&S soups of all time. I also love their Black Bean Sauce, with any protein you choose (although I love it with chicken breast) -- it is truly delicious. String Bean Chicken is another favorite. The chefs are two brothers, and the terrific Ricardo, at the front, is one of the chef's sons. They are a wonderful family. If you've bypassed this place but never stopped in, or if you're from the North Pacifica or Montara, Moss Beach or El Granada, it is definitely worth the trip -- it'll become one of your favorite (if not THE favorite) Chinese restaurant on the coast.

I generally liked everything we ate. Soup dumpling skin was a little thick but the inside was really filled and juicy! Green beans weren't bad but a little salty. But my friend and husband really liked this dish. I liked the Dan Dan noodles. They were simple and clean. You mix everything together and I thought the flavor was nice and not too strong! The pan fried buns were also good. Not as good as Dough Zone but still pretty tasty. Overall I was happy and would come back!

Tacky decor and wall decorations that are dusty. Cute table settings. Uncomfortable hard metal chairs. Well, I was getting takeout, so no big deal. I ordered the dan dan noodles and some egg rolls. I was told ten minutes. It was twenty. Ok, well maybe the food is really good. Let's start with the egg rolls. Ok, that is really good. Not too greasy. Nice crunch. Fresh vegetable taste. Score. Now the noodles. What is this? This is chowmein noodles with ground beef and onion and a bit of gravy. I think. No chopped peanuts. Tastes like cafeteria food. They provided a vinegar condiment which helped it out. But none of that mazing dan dan umami I was expecting. Sad to say, I won't be back. The search for dan dan paradise continues.

Very disappointing experience…read more My mom has been a loyal customer here for over 5 years. Even if there's ever been an issue with a dish or the service, she's the type of person who just lets it go and never complains. Today was the first time she actually had a problem. She called in an order for salt and pepper prawns because she had been craving them all day. She picked up the food for our family, and when she got home, we realized they had given us salt and pepper pork instead. Mistakes happen, so I called the restaurant and they told me to bring back the pork and they'd have the correct order ready. When I got there, instead of apologizing or simply exchanging the order, they kept insisting my mom had ordered pork. I explained that misunderstandings happen over the phone, but my mom absolutely ordered the prawns. They refused to believe us. Then they wanted to charge an extra $5 for the prawns. At that point, I was tired of going back and forth. It honestly felt like they cared more about nickel-and-diming us over an extra $5 than providing good customer service. I finally said, "Fine, I'll pay." The husband just responded with, "Go," in a very rude tone. That was the moment I realized they were more focused on collecting the extra $5 than taking care of a loyal customer. The $5 wasn't even the issue--it was the principle. We drove back because of their mistake, returned the incorrect order, and were still expected to pay extra for the meal that was originally ordered. After supporting this restaurant for over five years, my mom wasn't given the benefit of the doubt even once. Customer service goes a long way, especially with long-time customers. Unfortunately, this experience showed us that loyalty doesn't seem to matter here. If you order takeout, I'd recommend having them repeat your order back to you a few times before you hang up to avoid the same situation.

For dessert, no matter how full I am, I always gotta go for the fried buns with condensed milk. Their Thai Tea is also creamy and good! I love how they don't skimp on the milk. The sauce bar is great and has a lot of toppings and sauces to create your own hot pot dipping sauce concoction. My go-to is ponzu, sesame paste, hella garlic, chili oil, hella cilantro, and green onions. You already know. They serve a complimentary scoop of ice cream! They normally have 2-3 flavors to choose from. I always go for the green tea for the most part. SERVICE: 8/10 Staff is always quick, efficient, attentive, and nice! The meat quality is pretty decent here as well, and I liked the variety of sides you can get here. - OVERALL - A solid spot with a unique dining experience if you get the half and half option!

And if it's chicken wings your soul is screaming for, let's be honest: there isn't a single place in this town that can compete with San Tung. This recipe? It's completely off the hook. It is sweet, it is tangy, and it is utterly, shamelessly irresistible to the human tongue. It completely defies the pedestrian flavors that everyone else in this city is pushing. This isn't just food; it's a lifestyle choice. It's my drug of choice. What you've got here is a beautiful, bastardized combination of Chinese and Korean BBQ engineering. But let's get one thing straight: the secret isn't some mythical blend of eleven herbs and Chinese spices. No, it boils down to something far more primal: the type of chicken that San Tung purchases. They are looking for something very specific--the precise age, the exact size of the bird. And that? That is something they will absolutely never share with you. Like the formula for Coca-Cola, they guard that secret with a beautiful, paranoid intensity. Now, the people I really miss in this room are Charles and his wife. They split off from this sit-down paradise years ago and carved out their own gig right next door--San Tung 2. They took the crown and put themselves on the map for those wings. It was a beautiful, tightly run family affair--full-on mafia style. Whatever traffic drove through this side of town, they weren't here for the scenery; they were here for the wings. ST2 might be gone now, but the dream? The dream continues to thrive right here. So whenever that craving hits, do yourself a favor. Make your way over to this room. You'll thank me later.

A bit overrated San…read moreTung on Irving Street in the Inner Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco, CA, offers a textbook overrated dining experience that struggles to justify its massive, block-spanning hype. The defining hurdle of a visit is the notorious wait time, where customers routinely stand on the sidewalk for an hour or more just to be squeezed into a cramped, noisy, and basic dining room. While the legendary original dry-fried chicken wings are decent, they ultimately fall short of their mythical reputation; the signature sweet-and-spicy glaze leans incredibly saccharine and sticky, masking meat that often turns out slightly dry and over-fried. Beyond the signature wings, the rest of the extensive menu feels surprisingly ordinary and heavy-handed with sodium, making standard dishes like the black bean sauce noodles and string beans feel like ordinary takeout rather than a destination meal. Combined with a hurried front-of-house staff operating an "all-business" conveyor belt to clear tables quickly, the rushed environment and inflated, ala-carte pricing leave you feeling like you paid premium time and money for what is ultimately a standard neighborhood Chinese spot. Thanks

The broth was rich and satisfying, complementing the ingredients nicely. The atmosphere strikes a great balance--casual and welcoming, with the feel of a classic Chinese hot pot restaurant.
