Good arrival: Cold and forgot to provide utensils. Both are small matters when the food is good... Flavor: Veggie egg rolls - Arrived cold and soggy but with decent flavor. The sauce is insanely salty. The Micdrop! and Hostile takeover ramen - Undercooked ramen (not a pleasant mouth feel) and way too salty meat that was only edible after microwaving the bowl with added water to dilute the salt. The restaurant is a nice little place. It was pretty busy. The food was good bordering was interesting and it wasn't be dry clear that you had to order using the QR code as a the menu. The food was tasty and filling though I agree with another that it wasn't very seasoned. Actually pretty bland broth to be honest. My partner and I went there while driving through flagstaff to sedona. During the holiday peak season, the wait was expected at every place in downtown but there were few seats empty and we're still not given any place. I think the staff were dealing through a lot and was not able to manage it properly. At last, the preparation didn't take much time and the delicious food arrived on our table. It was so good (or maybe I was too hungry) I finished the whole ramen within 15-20 mins. We tried the katsu ramen and hostile ramen. Liked katsu a lot. Very flavourful. Tiny and unassuming restaurant but don't let that fool you, the ramen here is amazing! Not only is the food amazing but the staff were very helpful and nice. We came in on a weekend night and the place was packed, we're talking about the backs of chairs touching! I would say it's well worth the hype and little squeeze because this place has one of the best ramens I have had in a while. I went to Sosoba went I went to visit Flagstaff and from the start the server was very attentive, and was dedicated to giving us good service the whole time. The food its self was very tasty and unique from other ramen places I've been to. They have different types to ramen to fit everyone's taste. I got spicy ramen vegetarian which was more thin but still very flavorful. My daughter got the Katsu ramen which was more thicker and had a lot of broth. The ambiance very unique. We got a big glass pitcher for and glass cups for us to serve ourselves which I absolutely adored. We got to pick our own seats and we sat right next to the window that faced the street. Came here yesterday night with a buddy of mine and we both ended up getting the tantan ramen and a beer. I think we were pleasantly surprised with how our food came out. The broth was rich and had a nice kick to it and the noodles were just short of Al Dente in my opinion. Nothing hot about 'em, but they're tasty and I thought the sesame-miso aioli was a decent pairing here as well. Potstickers Deep fried and served with a soy heavy dipping sauce. Bit of a sodium bomb; my least favorite of the three. Sosoba Flagstaff definitely has a millennial vibe, although my first visit was during spring break, so I'm not sure if this is typical patronage. I did not have the dissatisfactory wait staff experience other Yelpers share, although I do feel there's an air of local judgment for visitors. Again, could be the spring break factor. I'm writing this review because Sosoba gave my husband and I the worst stomach ache and we don't feel well. This is the only thing we really ate today too. The "ramen" was not good and the noodles were dry and tasted almost like nothing. The broth was not creamy and was watery so it had no flavor. I'm not sure what the problem was but it tasted like dirty sink water. Even after asking for chili to give it flavor, it didn't do much. On top of that, the fried chicken is all they offer in the ramen, and the fried part becomes soft and soggy after sitting in water broth.The appetizers are ok and so are the drinks. Our server was not the most pleasant, she was a little hard to read and came off rude most of the time. One guy was there and he was very nice. TL;DR: If you're looking for something authentic with deep flavors, go somewhere else. Service: Can't really say anything bad here. The waiter was friendly, we didn't see much of him when eating, but once we looked around he came right over. The food: This is where things fell apart for me. I had the ramen... the broth lacked any depth of flavor and was just barely warm, the egg was soft boiled and also cold, the chicken katsu was good but the katsu sauce they used was overly sweet. I split a ball of fire since it sounded neat, but really didn't care for it. The hot sauce just tasted like siracha and since it was all concentrated in the center it provided spice to a couple bites but didn't do anything for the flavor. We also got the bao buns. This was probably the most disappointing thing I've seen in awhile. Calling them bao buns is taking creative license waaaay too far. The "bun" is just a disk that was maybe steamed but then seared to provide a crunchy texture on the outside and used like you would a taco shell. The "beef bulgogi" was slightly tough and tasted far more like brisket than bulgogi. Then a splattering of greens thrown on. If you called them Asian street tacos you'd be more correct but the taste would still be a disappointment. Overall: I wouldn't give this place another try and wouldn't recommend this to anyone. read more

I was able to taste 4 of the noodle bowls because we all shared around. Loved them all. The location is in this smallish but very cute ally in downtown Flagstaff and had a great atmosphere. The restaurant itself has a bit of a dive-like atmosphere but I think that was cool and added to the experience. The place was full but accommodated a big group in the bar area for us.
