I want to at least get this review started so I hopefully save someone else the trouble I experienced. This first pass will be rudimentary to simply say the quality of the workmanship at this place STINKS. I gave them my car along with very expensive parts and they did extremely shoddy work overall. There were a few tasks completed well, like a minor painting job, but otherwise it was awful. I pointed out a few problems and they flipped it back on me and said the parts I provided were the problem. Belive me, the problem was their lack of knowledge and attention to detail !!! I don't have time right now to write and explain in detail what went wrong but hope to revise this review later and embellish it with examples to demonstrate the the real problem was their work. It was a joke. I wish I could provide an alternative recommdation to this place, but unfortunately can't. I can only say don't go here, you'll be disappointed. read more

Took my car here to get the fenders rolled. They did nothing, but mess up my paint and waist my time. Then they tried to charge me additional charges for work they decided to do without my consent. I wouldn't refer someone I dislike to this shop, that's how bad it is. read more

They have redone my 1976 Eldorado to perfection. Some parts came in defective they replaced at no charge. I have had a new carb, alternator, wiper motor, totally redone front suspension, axles and bearings also have done shocks and fixed the interior lights, radiator among other details. This is not an easy car to work on but Oscar and Saul and everyone else has been fantastic. I WILL keep taking my "baby" to them as she looks and runs really well. They are busy which is a good sign of quality work. Anyone with a bad experience probably came in with a bad attitude as they take their work very seriously. For upholstery I use SOS Upholstery off of OCeanside Blvd, same family, my top and interior of my other car have been done to perfection. Money well spent!!! read more

I've taken one of my cars to their other shop for a new audio system and they did a great job. So after my accident in my precious Honda I decided to use them again. The experience was once again great and I seriously have no complaints. I called them and took my car in right away. The tow truck dropped my car off and I can't believe how fast they repaired my bumper and hood. Believe me the damage was bad and I thought it would take more than a week but they did it in a couple days. The paint job and work was excellent it made my car look brand new. I have not had anything major done, just a repair to the leather in my passenger seat. They were very helpful in helping me find the closest color to match the existing upholstery. The price was fair, they did add an extra $25.00 to my bill after giving me a quote but after I told them that we had settled on a different price they adjusted the bill. Over all I would consider using them again for a larger job that I have with another car. read more

Looks are deceiving, I brought my car in Bc my clutch gave out. Bc I had the cash I decided to do a bunch of upgrades I really wanted, pulley swap, headers, tune, sound system. Well the pulley snapped... twice. The headers Were the wrong headers. And the sound system gave out on me twice, I only brought it to them for the issue once. The rear dif bushings gave out (not their fault) so I brought it to them. Well once I got it back 6th gear didn't work. After spending over 12k on these clowns I had a friend who builds cars look at my clutch he told me there were a bunch of screws in the clutch missing. So he called them and they said I went to another shop and had other people work on my transmission NEVER HAPPENED. When people see the SOS customz stickers on my car (that I need to remove) they give me a sigh and already know they messed up my car. They buy eBay parts that break and don't fit I found that out when I replaced the pulley myself the 2nd time it snapped. This was my first experience with a mechanic and I will never trust another mechanic because of this place. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL costs. read more

Too many mechanics seem to not like cars or what they are doing. These guys like cars, and like what they're doing. They will talk to you to discuss what's needed on the car, and leave the decision up to you. They will work with you to keep the cost down. The people seemed really nice, but the fellow getting the back seat out of my car damaged the corner of my leather upholstery with a screwdriver getting it out and the manager denied it. They gave me a price and I thought it was for the whole seat repair, but after done, it was just the top. Disappointed they were not more straight forward. read more

I was recently in a pretty bad car accident ( my first :( ) and they took off the entire corner of my car... my bumper was tore up head light was smashed into my hood and ,well my hood was pushed up .. and so on... i was referred to SOS CUSTOMZ of Oceanside by a mutual friend after asking for a legit good body shop that doesn't try to fix something that's not broken.( you know what i mean the ones that rip off people) And he gave me the number to SOS... I had no idea what a GREAT place this truly was, the person i worked closely with was Saul ... one of the owners sons... from the beginning he was sooo nice and offered to help me any way he could, from the payment,to my rental situation (he let me keep my rental there when i picked up,even went back n got a few things i forgot inside) to genuinely caring for my satisfaction . I went through my insurance due to all the fancy insurance business and was charged the deductible... :( BUT after meeting with Saul and telling him all of my situation, he was willing to work with me through the entire process. when i left my car with SOS, ill admit my car was .. a Lil messy to say the least ( I HAVE 2 KIDS.. AND IT WAS MID WEEK) the crew cleaned the inside for me :D vacuumed and finished with a new paint job on top of of course fixing alll the damage to my car. My car looks BRAND NEW i was soooo Happy to see my car look so good again !!!! i have used sos customz a bunch of times. i go thru atleast 4 vehicles per year and i like to have a one stop shop which is very hard to find. they have done interior, convertable top, paint, body work, mechanical, sound system, and many small teadious jobs that lots places wont bother to do...and they do it on the spot. i have rolled in with a back up camera to b put in and they did it on the spot. blown speakers, window switch goes out, etc. and they have no problem with me bringing my own parts where as most places will only use parts they order so they can put their mark up on them. even when i have had them order parts they never charged me more than their cost. i find them extremely honest about the work they do...especially with paint and body work. they make sure i know my options and explain things so i can make an informed decision. i had a saleen mustang painted and body work and they explained the time and difference between a $2000 paint job and a $8000 paint job. i already knew the difference but it was nice that they didnt try to bluff me. some of my vehicles just need a simple daily driver paint job and they r glad to do that. other vehicles that r weekend only drivers or custom cars/bikes need a more detailed and expensive paint job...and they r always good at explainig the difference and accepting my choice without trying to pressure me into spending more money than i want or need. they have an open trailer if i have jstu a daily driver i need picked up and they also have an enclosed trailer for my vehicles i dont want hauled in the open. many times they have driven me home after i drop off a vehicle and they have also brought my vehicle to me if i was unable to get down to the shop to pick it up...and all at NO cost to me. now thats service above and beyond which is jsut another reason i will continue to take my vehicles to them and recommend them to others. the body guys and mechanics r always very friendly and willing to point things out i may have missed...and they never try to bluff me or push extra work...they jstu give recommendations which is nice cuz far to many shops talk down to people like we r all idiots and then try to push stuff we dont need. thats the point where i jstu walk out of a shop and sos customz has never done that once. i highly recommend them for ur one stop shop. great prices. great work. great people. vehicles i have had worked on by them since oct 2011 -2000 saleen mustang convertable-paint/body/top/stereo/upolstery -1998 custom tahoe-front end damage from accident/stereo -1999 gmc dually-transmission/door locks -2005 custom chopper-fender fabrication/paint -1996 lifted gmc dually-suspension/back up camera/door handles & locks -1980 full custom corvette-in progress-to much stuff to list :) ---many more to come--- read more

I took my 89 mustang in to get the convertible top replaced and a few other things that needed repair. Saul and his brother evaluated my car and suggested that they could repair the roof instead of replacing it. This was appreciated and saved me several hundred dollars! In addition, they replaced a door handle and rear window motors. The work was done in a timely manner and when I came to pick it up it had been cleaned and washed! I hope this review will help others take some time to think about their decision about who to chose for body and/ or paint work. I took a classic ford into SOS for a simple one stage white paint job and a little bit of body repair. The two owners who I believe to be brothers told me it would be a fairly easy job considering the car was completely dismantled including every nut and bolt on the car and also considering they were only repainting the car the same simple one stage color. (White single stage being the easiest and least expensive). I was a bit worried when I went to check on the car and they had a welding machine leaned up against the car. The car took months longer than they estimated and it was one of the worst jobs I've ever seen. There are drips and scratches and swirls and blowouts everywhere. I would not go back or recommend anybody to this shop. They did a horrible job with the headliner also and couldn't get the front windshield or rear windshield water tight. It was an exhausting experience. I dealt with many many automotive specialty shops during the course of rebuilding my ford and everyone was exceptional except for SOS Customz. They did admit that the work wasn't correct and even tried to fix their mistakes (which is admirable). Unfortunately their employees obviously don't have the ability and/or experience to get the job done properly. I suggest that anybody thinking about getting your car painted, etc. make sure to research the businesses before making your decision. read more
