My wife recently had her Range Rover repaired here. There were some delays on our side due to coordinating with our apartment complex, but once everything was ready, the team at Chris Amato's Body Werks took over and did a great job. Big shout-out to Jackie H., who was patient with us and managed the entire process. She made everything easy and pleasant, and I highly recommend this team. Great work and everything was completed on time! read more

Update... the car was not detailed, a detailer checked it out & you can clearly feel the difference on each side. How after owning the car for 24 years did it NEVER leak when going thru a car wash but after having work done on the car at this place is it leaking? So now it leaks, more road noise coming in but yet they claim they never did any work on the driver's side door. Yet they also told me they didn't do any work on the inside but when I asked how did the sunvisors get put on backwards they said they had to take the headliner off. Make it make sense? Their response is unprofessional as well. They messed the car up & should take responsibility, not flat out lie. read more

Highly recommend, this shop is stellar. Excellent work and excellent service. I traveled all the way from La Mesa because I trust their work and would do again if I ever needed any more work done. I am super happy with my service from Chris Amato's. They went above and beyond with the accident repair of my E30 BMW. The paint is shiny, glossy, matches and everything they did looks great. They nicely addressed small things that they didn't have to do and that made the whole job look way better than it was before the accident. I can't stop looking at it cause it's so good. They communicated when they said they would and the job was done within the time frame they said. When the car was done they made sure I was happy with it and even did a couple more minor things on pick up day. I did a lot of DD and went to four other shops to get quotes for my car. Chris Amato's was right in the middle for price but top notch for quality. Would absolutely recommend. But be patient, perfection takes time. read more

Outstanding service. From the moment I drove my Range Rover in. I was welcomed by Cheryl. I had a small scratch on my window. I asked if they could touch it up. Without hesitation Zach came out and told me he'd take care of it. He could not have been more professional. Both Cheryl and Zach. Anytime I need body work on my car I'll be sure to go to Amatos Body Works. Service and they did an amazing job. read more

I was driving on the freeway during a downpour and something hit my Audi A4. Zach and Vanessa helped me navigate the process with the ins adjuster. I dropped my car off just before Christmas because we were going on vacation and they did let me know realistic time frames for completion after the holidays. They were friendly and professional. I had to follow up a few times to check in but the job was done well. My car looks like nothing happened. They even threw in a little work my ins didn't cover completely. Happy to have my car back! read more

Absolute perfection -- wouldn't trust my Plaid with anyone else Chris Amato and the team at Body Werks are on another level. They just repaired bumper and rim damage on my Tesla Plaid, and the result is flawless. Not "good as new" -- better than new. The paint match is perfect, the body lines are exact, and the rim looks like it just rolled off the factory floor. Chris and his team specialize in high-end electric vehicles, and it shows in every detail of their work. Meticulous attention to detail, fair pricing, and delivered exactly when promised I wouldn't take my Tesla anywhere else. If you care about your car -- especially a performance EV like a Plaid -- this is the place. There's a huge difference between a body shop and a craftsman-level operation. Body Werks is the latter. Thanks again, Chris. Exceptional work. read more

Chris and his crew are amazing! My family has brought numerous cars to CABW and we are always impressed by the quality of their work and their attention to detail. My truck was recently hit on the rear bumper. Based on my assessment, it was a simple fix. I figured a new bumper is all that was needed. Chris and his crew did a thorough inspection of my truck and noticed many underlying issues that were not visible. There was damage to the tailgate, bumper, bed and cross brace. The entire repair process went smoothly. Marleen kept me informed with updates. Just picked up my truck yesterday and it looks perfect! I'm in the automotive industry and I can see any imperfections from a mile away lol. Thank you Chris and the entire CABW crew for the great work! read more

I don't typically write reviews but Chris and his team are exceptional. I had an minor collision that really damaged my Mercedes. In no time, Chris and Vanessa were able to get me a quote, worked hand-in-hand with my insurance company, and the Mercedes Dealership to restore my car to it's immaculate condition before the wreck. I obtained multiple quotes from shops throughout San Diego--Not only was Chris Armato's was fairly priced but they had amazing reviews. And in hindsight, it was the best decision I could have ever made. read more

Recently my parked car was damaged by two other cars who collided and then hit mine. AAA recommended this body shop, and I am so grateful they did. Sara kept me updated every step of the way, ensuring every part fit perfectly and an alignment was performed before my car was returned. Paint was matched perfectly and the car was detailed to perfection before the shop released my car. The estimate was fair and no surprises in the final cost, which the other drivers' insurance promptly paid. There are not enough stars to rate Chris Amato's Body Werks in Oceanside. read more

PAINT COLOR DOES NOT MATCH!!! My entire passenger side got side swiped, so I took it to this shop to get serviced. I have red Tesla and they supposedly specialize it Tesla's so I thought they would do a good job. Boy was I dead wrong. The paint quality is so cheap when comparing it to the stock Tesla red it is laughable. It looks worst in different lighting. Literally looks like a heap TJ paint job. My car got one good side now and one bad side, the bad side being Chris amatos work. Paint is so bad i decided not keeping this car anymore, trash. Go somewhere else besides here if you have a Tesla specially a red one. read more

My car was towed here by AAA and I am so grateful they recommended Chris Amato's. Sarah kept me updated on the progress of the repair and answered all of my questions. She was transparent and very responsive. Upon pick up, Eddie gave me a great rundown of the repairs. Explained the warranty and made sure I was completely satisfied with their work. Eddie was professional and very knowledgeable. I didn't catch the employee's name behind the counter when I arrived but they were fantastic too. Car accidents are extremely stressful but I felt confident with Chris Amato's work/service throughout the entire process. read more

This is a top rate body shop. I have had several body shop repairs done here and every one has come back excellent. The customer service and communication is terrific. Having used Chris Amato's Body Werks multiple times for different cars, my last experience (Rivian R1T in November of '24) was as great as all the others. Besides excellent workmanship, a strong warranty and access to the owner, if needed, their customer support is excellent. Jackie was my adviser. She did an excellent job keeping me abreast of the progress, dealt with all the required approvals and was an effective advocate for me in the daily coordination meeting. Due to an out of town visitor requiring a car, we needed the repair done by a specific day. Jackie and the team made that possible which was extremely helpful. I hope to not have to return to a body shop any time soon. However, if I do, I know my car and I will be in great hands at Chris Amato's Body Werks. Thank you for the great service! read more

Was referred here by a local shop who was not Tesla certified and I'm so glad they referred Chris Amatos. Eddy took quick care of my issue and even noticed my tire pressure was a little low so he filled them up. They really went the extra mile for someone who just walked in. I was worried I would spend a lot on repairs for some damage caused by an exploding tire on the freeway. But they got me back on the road so fast and really took care of me. Thank you Eddy. I'll be sure to be back with any other Tesla work I may need. read more

My Tesla came to this body shop a few months ago for warranty repair and they did a good job fixing the factory blotched paint job where there was a shadow on the paint. I also called recently and spoke to Mike for a second opinion on a denied Mexico car Insurance claim that we already had pending at Toyota Carlsbad collision center. I wanted to know the out of pocket repair cost if we went through with his body shop instead. He gave me the tip to try fighting the insurance by asking to speak with a supervisor. I did just that and we got approved the supplement worth about $8k! I will definitely send my future repairs to this car shop. Thank you Mike! read more

I went in to have an estimate on fixing some deep scratches and a slight dent of my front bumper of a Model S Tesla. I asked for estimates to fix the bumper and on replacing the bumper with a new one. Both jobs would require repainting the front bumper. I was sent an email of only one estimate for fixing the existing bumper from Zack, the person who made the appraisal. I called Zach and asked again for the costs of replacing it. Zach quickly sent me another email with quote that appeared to have inflated costs for labor and body work (on a new bumper!), making the cost of replacing the bumper $800 more than fixing it. I wrote an email in response, asking for clarification, but received no response. I took my car to another body repair shop (Chapparone), which was rated more highly and also closer to where I live. Unlike Amato's, Chapparone issued two estimates for me within a couple minutes while I was still in the shop! This allowed me to discuss these estimates with the appraiser in person. Reassuringly, the estimate for fixing the front bumper was within $50 of Amato's estimate. However, Chapparone's estimate for replacing the bumper was $700 less than that of Amato's. Given the small difference in price between fixing the bumper versus replacing it, I elected to replace the bumper, something conceded by the appraiser at Chapparone, and even by Zack when I met with him, as probably being the better option, in terms of having greater likelihood of looking like new. Amato's performance in making estimates is clearly not 5 star. If you are using insurance to pay for repairs, I suppose cost doesn't matter. If you are paying for repairs out of pocket, then avoiding Amato's Body "Werks" probably is a good idea. read more

I am gratefully surprised at the customer service, quality of work and attention to detail that was shown at this shop. Mike and Marleen were awesome. My camper van was damaged in a windstorm and other shops weren't able to accommodate it due to its size. From my initial check in all the way through they were top notch. They were able able to get my van in, deal with insurance and even made sure to get the van back before my big trip. The work looks amazing and they even detailed the whole van and it looks better than new! Definitely would recommend this spot. read more

Brought our BMW into the shop mid January and got it back yesterday, February 18. the whole passenger side had been sideswiped and the front tire wheel well had been smashed in. What we got back yesterday was our ruined car looking brand new again. It sparkled and you would never know anything had happened to it. My wife and I couldn't be more satisfied. Our representative at Chris Amato's Body Werks was Marleen Reyes and she kept us informed on a weekly basis. She handled the insurance company and kept us out of it. We just waited until it was ready for pick up. Marleen's weekly emails and phone messages were all we needed. We'd recommend Chris Amato's to anyone who needs major damage repaired. Chris Amato's Body Werks was recommended by my BMW service advisor who never steers me wrong. In this case he absolutely pointed me to the best. I had parking lot bang (no note) on rear panel . From the moment I walked in the door the first time I could tell this was the right place to repair my BMW X6M. The staff greeted me and immediately walked out to get pictures of the damage, I was introduced to their estimator Corbin Potts. Corbin gave me a detailed explanation of the steps they would perform to get my car back to like new. I was later contacted by Sarah Cooper letting me know she would be handling the insurance part and she told me steps that would be involved with insurance company. I asked Corbin in the beginning for a ballpark figure of how long it would take, he said they don't really know until they tear down the car what will have to be done , he said guesstimate was 3 1/2 weeks. Car was finished little over 3 weeks. Chris Amato's Body Werks not only did a wonderful job on my car they are really nice professional people to work with . I recommend them highly. read more

I called this business to have body work completed on my Tesla. This company was unfortunately recommended by Tesla. (I will be letting Tesla know of my experience.) I was told by Jennifer that I would get a call back "most likely by the end of the day" after forwarding all of my insurance information over to them. It's now been over a week without so much as even a call back or email despite calling them 2 times to inquire of the status. I don't like to be that person to bug them for a call back, but when your car needs to be repaired there is not time to leave people hanging. Based on other reviews, delays, lack Of communication and not responding are a common occurrence with this business. I simply wanted to get my car fixed. Now I've wasted a week trying to get my car repaired costing me unnecessary car rental expense. If you are too busy to take in new business at least have the decency to let me know so I can go elsewhere instead of waiting and calling with zero response. If you can't even call people back to schedule repairs this reflects poor customer service and management, which is a red flag! I would recommend going elsewhere to a business actually cares about their customers. read more

My experience with Chris's team was fantastic start to finish. I called and left a message and got a call back within 10 mins. I was then given an appointment for an estimate (Rivian R1T - not an easy vehicle to work with) on the same day. In their waiting room, even their shop staff that walked by seemed genuinely interested in helping us. Our estimate/discussion with Robert was nothing short of spectacular. We particularly enjoyed briefly hearing about his career background. When we together made a diagnosis of the best way to proceed, he was even kind enough to have his shop manager (Alberto - what a lovely "gentle giant") come out and help explain the best next steps. My immediate family owns 2 Teslas, a Rivian and our extended family owns an additional 2 Teslas and several rare exotics. We have found our new go-to body shop. read more

This was my second experience using Chris Amato's Body Werks in Oceanside. (The first was also an A+ job and I should have written a review then - a few years ago. My bad.) This recent repair was done to my rear ended Tesla Y. After this second time I feel that I can accurately testify that everything about this shop is brilliant. The coordination and communication with insurance was great. (They have a dedicated insurance manager!) We were able to drop off our rental car when repairs were finished. (Seriously, THAT's never happened!) The car was detailed and looks brand new. All personnel are top notch. I was referred to Chris Amato's Body Werks (CABW) by the Carlsbad Porsche dealership to take take of a small fender bender. After reading the reviews, I decided to give them a try. And I am glad I did! A few things I felt that set them apart. I was anxious to get my vehicle fixed and needed a quote ASAP. After calling CABW, they were able to see me right away for a quote. Once I got to their establishment, Cheryll greeted me at the front desk and was very personable, helpful, and guided me through the process. Next I met with Alex, who reviewed the damage, answered my many questions, and firmed up pricing (which was very reasonable) and estimated timelines (about a week) on when the job would be completed. Lastly I worked with Jackie, who keep me updated every step of the way throughout the week. This was my first experience with this company and I will have to say, the level of customer service was outstanding. You can tell each employee takes pride in their job and it shows with how well they respect the customer. Cheryll, Alex, and Jackie are the "A+ Team" they get six stars for going above and beyond making me feel like a VIP customer. Oh, my car was done one day earlier as well.
