My car got rear ended about a week before I went on deployment.. terrible timing but Abi from Carlsbad Collision quite literally saved the day. He worked personally with the third party paying for the repair, myself and my dad. He coordinated the repair, payment and pickup all while I was on a plane to leave the country for 6 months. He went above and beyond to ensure that my vehicle (and nerves) were taken care of. Abi and David lied to me about my vehicle and destroyed my property damage claim. We had an agreement that my car would be inspected but not diagnosed for the humming noise it is making now after the accident. My car was in the shop for over a month and I was not hearing back from the insurance or my attorney for THREE DAYS in this time DAVID the mechanic here told Max the insurance adjuster that it was not due to the accident and therefore closed my rental screwing me out of hundreds. I Was looking for a shop to get my Tesla repaired, I was involved an a accident and debated weather or not to go through insurance. After looking around I found Carlsbad Collision, I don't heavily rely on yelp reviews, different people have different expectations and everyone's situation is a bit different. I walked in without an appointment around mid day( they take walk ins). I was treated with a friendly smile(her name was Dulce). She checked if the Tesla estimator had not gone to lunch yet. ( i came in during my lunch break). She came back and let me know he wouldn't mind taking a later lunch and would be out to help me out. (Which was Amazing that i didnt have to come back at a later time!). Alfonso(super friendly/nice guy) came out and we went to look at my Tesla . The guys is very knowledgeable with auto repair and with Tesla. He took the time to look at my Tesla, wrote up a quick estimate and even checked if any parts were on back order. After reviewing the damages I decided to go through insurance, he let me know while I was there, he can take all photos required my insurance companies so that I didn't have to come back for photos in the future( again knowledgeable, saving me a trip and time). All he asked is to call him back with a claim number and insurance info, and he would take care of the rest. I called him back later that evening. Before the night was over he submitted the estimate with photos he took to my insurance company and included me in the email. ( talk about service). Insurance took a bit to approved (which he warned me about). Once estimate was approved, a small parts deposit to pre-order parts and a week later he got me in. He quoted me 5 days to get repairs done ( I was thinking about few weeks). Alfonso and his team got me out in a 3 days. (Incredible). Needless to say Alfonso and the whole Carlsbad Collision team meet and exceeded my expectations. I was a bit nervous at the beginning but Alfonso explained and walked me step by step through the process. I could not ask for a better experience.!!! read more

Please do not bring your tesla or any car here! My car was in this shop for over a week and it came back with paint discoloration and bubbles. Brought it back, in for another week, still not perfect (there was a ridge of paint below the bumper). Alfonso had no idea what he was doing. I don't know what their painter or tech is doing in the back. Richard (the manager) was nice, but still couldn't get the job done right. They finally repainted the whole bumper and it looks pretty good. I had to make 5 trips to this collision center. I'll never be returning. Save your time and money and go elsewhere!! read more

The adjuster took a lunch break at the appointment; somebody else took photos. Finally, I had to call numerous times to get an estimate; the estimate was missing a lot of the damage and was an outlier compared to others. Insurance companies weren't buying it. However, Alfonso was nice once I could track him down. The manager called very aggressively because I left a bad review. Don't be fooled by the name, the shady Toyota dealership owns them and it shows in their product. read more

I brought my car in 21/2 years ago after being side swiped by another driver. The repairs consisted of changing out the driver side panels. A few months back I noticed a 6-8 inch crack on the paint of the passengers side door. So I brought it back in to have the manager look at it. He said it looked very strange and asked if I could bring it in to be fixed at the beginning of August. He said he'd arrange to have a rental car for me and apologized for the inconvenience. A few days ago I called just to solidify that I had the reservation and that a similar SUV would be provided because I had to go out of town for a few days. I was told that I was not in the system with a reservation and that she'd have to check into it and call me back later that day. I got no follow up call that day, nor the next day. I called again today and was told I was still not in the system with a reservation and since it was a warranty repair, no reservation was required. Why then did the manager tell me I had to wait until the beginning of the month and didn't address it immediately? Regardless, I let the receptionist know that I was bringing my car in in the morning and wanted to make sure I had an SUV rental because I was bringing my 2 medium size dogs with me on the trip. She then stated that dogs are not allowed in the rental cars and that there was no guarantee I'd get an SUV. I have never been told I couldn't have a dog in a rental car. This has been incredibly frustrating dealing with this company whose quality I now question as well as their policies. I received different information from every person I spoke to. This company offers a lifetime warranty on their work, yet when you try to get a warranty issue addressed, you get the runaround. I know I need to take care of getting the poor repair addressed but am dreading dealing with the incompetence. They were great with the initial repair but if you use this company, just hope that it was done well so that you don't have to go back. read more

People communicating were always very polite, but the service time and process took extremely longer than I was told. I was going in for a small patch of paint to be fixed for free under a Hyundai warranty, which they said would take a week. I dropped it off and got no call or message for 2 weeks. When I finally called, it seemed like they had forgotten about my car and not even started. I had to drive up to northern CA for school that weekend, so I called the next day to take my car back (done or not), but apparently they had stripped the paint off the entire car, not just the panel I need replacing. They offered me a free rental which was nice at first but now I have to drive hundreds of miles back home to pick up my car and put wear on my car for a trip I shouldn't have needed to take. read more

During this time my warranty expired and I was unable to have the car serviced while under warranty which I specifically addressed with the service advisor prior to dropping off. My 4 month old 2024 vehicle got unexpectedly hit and run leaving damage to the bumper and quarter panel. My insurance recommended me to this shop and my work does business with this place so i figured i would take my car in for repairs here. I called the shop and set an appointment to drop my car off for repairs, the girl scheduled me for the same day I called in and I was excited to get my car in the shop. I had high hopes but got let down throughout the whole process. Alfonso was very friendly and contacted me when he could since he is very busy. I appreciated his friendliness. However, I felt the urgency wasn't there with the shop as a whole. I understand parts for a new car are back ordered, but why am i getting told by other shops it shouldn't have taken over a month for the damage on my car to get repaired? My insurance paid them out before the repairs were even started and i felt like they just sat on my car as long as possible because they didn't have to worry about the payment since it was already done. I felt a little mislead towards the end of the process and was confused as to when my car was actually going to be done When I arrived at the shop to pickup my car, the two girls at the front desk were very unwelcoming and not friendly and it seemed as my presence was a bother to them. When one girl instructed a male employee to bring my car up, he sighed and got up off his chair to get my car (it was 10 minutes until closing). This alone is something that turns me off to ever coming back here, or recommending this shop to others. The quality of body work was impeccable and I thank the techs who repaired my car for making my car look brand new again and can say it was worth the dreadful wait. But, I think my overall experience could have been saved if there was an evident sense of urgency, open & frequent communication, and friendly customer facing employees. read more

He made my collision a much more enjoyable experience because he was super cool and is a pro at what he does. I couldn't figure out how to submit my pictures on the damage to my insurance company and he showed me how to easily do it. He was an incredible coordinator between me and my insurance company and made the whole process go seamlessly.
