Super cute place in down town Westfield. Knew someone who comes here regularly and recommended it so I took my mom and we got our nails done. Workers were nice and did a great job on our nails and toes. Prices were really good compared to some other places I've been to. Regular mani & pedi is $47, gel mani & pedi was $75. I came here to get acrylic nails and never again! My nails are a variety of different sizes and not to mention the paint is splotchy! They are see through in some areas and already popping off after only two days. You can also see how they do not trim the cuticle at all before applying the acrylic nail it's over all very sloppy and does not last long. I'm really disappointed and left a nice tip thinking it would be appreciated it was not. read more

I asked for a dip nail. Be aware that their dip is acrylic powder based (at least the color I picked) I asked the tech if the dip had acrylic and she said no but I read the label on the product and it was acrylic powder and can be interchanged to be used with acrylic or dip but is not sns dip. Be aware if you are allergic to acrylic. I had rounded almond nails with 2 tips that needed to be replaced. When I left the dip was overly thick and all the tips were uneven. I also asked for an opaque nail color and it was see through so she had to add gel color on top. I don't like gel on top of dip because it chips before the dip ever will. I had to go back and file all my nails to the correct shape. She also asked me why I didn't get acrylic because it was easier to remove and reapply. It seems like they aren't comfortable doing dip and they should have told me that at the beginning instead of complaining about it. Paid about $55. They also need to update and clean the interior. The staff here is very friendly, and it is competitively priced for nails in the area. If you want to chat, the techs will, if you want to relax in silence, they do that too. They have nice music videos on most days on TV's. Robot massage chairs are really nice for pedicures. I like everyone there, but I think Sophy and Sophy's sister are the most skilled, if you want a complicated nail design. But everyone does a good job :) Overall I think they do a great job, I've been going for years, getting toes, nails and eye brow waxing. There is an occasional off job, but no one is perfect, and in general I love my nails when they are done. They tried their best during the pandemic to keep everyone safe and followed local laws. Customers are mask optional now, so please ignore the "mask" review, as I no longer think it is fair to them. They let customers choose for themselves what is best for their own health. Call ahead to get an appointment, as they can get a bit busy with walk-ins, and sometimes you have to wait longer if you don't call. Overall I highly recommend! read more

Covid wise, they're doing just as much as they can, with limited patrons and staff. Sanitizing between customers, and plexiglass everywhere. My french manicure turned yellow, I talked to the owner and he said he would take the polish off, but wouldn't guarantee his work because it wasn't gel and told me next time to get gel. He was really rude and when I asked him why he was talking so loudly about what happened in front of other customers he still didn't stop. read more

I had a poor experience a few years ago but went back yesterday to try it again. I got a pedicure and my nails done and my cuticles on both feet and hands are raw and I left with multiple bleeding. I asked manager for help and he told me it was from hangnails and poured a solution in that burned tremendously. I have gotten my nails done for years and never had this happen with my cuticles before. During filing and shaping, I got cuts under my nails from where the file cut into skin when the nail was missed. It stinks to be in so much pain as these. Been here at least a dozen times, most were average. Last two were awful. Just because they file down your nail SO much that it ruins the shape, slices your finger and makes you bleed does not mean you will receive any discount or complimentary service. You will be TOLD to return in a minimum of a 1.5 weeks and then be reprimanded for not coming a day after the initial incident. You'll get a half assed "sorry" and be told its your fault because the nail was too short resulting in the cut/bad shape. Interestingly, all the other nails and fingers were unharmed. The gel nails were all evenly cut down by the tech so how could just one be too short? While they do offer a wide variety of nice shellac colors; their lack of customer service and ability to own up to mistakes made it an uncomfortable and negative environment. read more

I had been going to Sophy's nails every 2-3 weeks to have a gel manicure for the last year. The nail tech was very good, and my nails turned out beautiful every time consistently. However, the owner i'm guessing; was very rude to me the last two times I went. This after being a regular customer. prior to this I had waited 30 mins past my apt time while the person ahead of me had design work done. I made another apt 3 weeks later and I ended up being 10 min late. I was literally scolded and told to 'hurry up and pick a color because your late and someone else is booked in 15 mins'. in going back to have a nail fixed two days later I was told he could'nt see the broken nail and gel over it... he didn't want the time to be spent fixing it correctly, but instead told them to just put more gel over it without fixing the broken nail. Upon leaving I tipped the girl who fixed my nails. Apparently that wasn't enough after paying full price two days prior, because he wanted $3 more. I've never seen such poor customer service. Very rude and unprofessional. I will not be going back to Sophy's and i'm very disappointed in their lack of loyalty to a regular customer. read more
