The mango raspada was perfect - not too sweet, refreshing, with real mango chunks. There was real juice in there, and it just felt like the perfect refreshing pick me up. You have the option of adding ice cream to your raspada which my friend did and loved. Prices are pretty good - my raspada was $4! The aesthetic of the place looks very white and clean. We didn't get any snacks but they have some delicious-sounding options like the elotes, nachos, or churros locos. You can also get fruit cups which are such a classic. I've been craving a good tosti-bomb and Sonoran Sno-Cone definitely delivered. I ordered the "tosti-veggies" which comes with chamoy, cabbage, cucumber and lime. So good!!! My advice to you would be to crush the chips. That way you can scoop up all the yumminess with your fork. Located at the very cool and peaceful Mercado San Agustin in one of the adjoined shops, Sonora Sno Cones is the perfect place to get a light and delicious traditional Mexican dessert: the raspado. They have other items, too, but this is the main reason that we go here. Order one, take a seat in the shade outside, and enjoy the serene setting. Personally, I enjoy watching the birds bounce around the courtyard looking for food or nest materials. It's so peaceful! If you get certain fruit flavors with your raspado, like strawberry, not only do they add the flavored syrup to the shaved ice (actually, it's more like very finely crushed ice here), but they also add a heaping helping of fresh, delicious fruit to the cup. This takes the traditional raspado to an elevated level. It adds another texture and another fresh, light flavor to the already tasty dessert! Add a scoop of Isabella's wonderfully creamy vanilla ice cream, and you have a raspado creamsicle! I definitely recommend this with just about any flavor, even the ones that are only artificially flavored, like the lime. Everything about their raspado is great! They also have other menu items, like the "Pico de Gallo", which is an assortment of fruit and other flavors. I've never had it, but it looks interesting! The prices are reasonable, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. If not for one of the girls there, I wouldn't have even thought to add a scoop of ice cream to the raspado, and I would have totally been missing out on something great! Forget about the unicorn frappes at Starbucks ....Sonoran snow cone at the Mercado is the place to go! I have not tried the raspadoes, however, as I always get the Macedonia. Tons of fruit and juice that's just right in sweetness and topped with enormous scoop of vanilla ice cream. It taste as great as it looks. There is indoor seating if it's hot or also fun outdoor seating at the Mercado, plus other unique shops to browse. This is one of our favorite places at Mercado St. Augustine. It's a great place for a cool summer treat. We've had the raspados and the Macedonia, which are both very delicious. The Macedonia takes the raspados to a whole other level, adding ice cream to the fruit. My daughter and I both ordered a medium and it had 3 scoops of ice cream in it. I could barely finish it because it was so filling! My husband prefers the spicier version. He ordered the nino, which had tamarind, chamoy and rielitos. He was ecstatic! He proclaimed "oh, it taste like Mexico". I'm sure we will be returning often for these tasty treats. read more

Stopped by this place and realized there's so many business inside and had to try at least a couple of them. I loved their mangoneada it was delicious! Absolutely horrible service. The young woman (glasses, dark black hair) was so rude after I asked if she could add mango juice. she gave me the chamoyada with a dab of chamoy and plain ice. I was really confused by the raspado so I went to ask for mango juice only and she refused and said "that's a chamoyada". I've had the same raspado at other shops many times and this one was by far the worst. She ended up charging me to add juice to my d that was originally ice, little chamoy and a few chili candy (rielitos). Trust me, avoid it! That girl needs a new job that does not involve interacting with people whatsoever. read more

We've lived in the OP for about a dozen years, but never had a raspado until last 4th of July when a friend who lives in Menlo Park had a party and we all trekked over to Sonora Sno Cones. I had seen the shaved ice/snow cones sign around town before, but having never liked snow cones, even as a kid, was never tempted. I was expecting the paper cone of ice with sickly sweet syrup from a bottle poured on top. Oh boy was I wrong. This is the only way snow cones should ever be made. Ever. Shaved ice, real fresh macerated fruit, and ice cream if you wish. A piece of heaven in Tucson. Get. one. now. My favorite is the strawberry, but my sone likes pineapple (tastes a little too canned for me). The peach is also good, and if you like mango, get it! I have not had the pico de gallo (frech fruit with chile, salt and lime), but it looks amazing. I am also told by a friend that the nachos have an obscene amount of cheese on them (if you're into that sort of thing). This place is now inside the taqueria just to the east of it's previous location, and I try to find excuses to be on this side of town with the kids so we can stop in and get one. This past weekend we even had lunch at the taqueria in the same building (not so bad), just so we could all have raspados for dessert. read more

Just had a fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice here, the barista squeezed the ripe ruby red grapefruits right then and there - this is good stuff! I love grapefruit juice and this is the best I've had. Their other snacks look tempting as well, will be trying more. The ambiance here is great as well, a real Tucson westside treasure and right near the new flowing Santa Cruz river. My hubby and I shared the Macedonia here yesterday at the spring bazaar - most of the fruit in it was fresh, and some canned - I think next time I'll just go with a strawberry, because they're freshly chopped, and tastes so good with the vanilla ice cream and condensed milk. I've seen the previous pictures of the items here and it always looks soooo good. We finally got to go today and the lady is super rude and was too busy to explain anything as I was asking what the items had in them. The menu isn't to specific, I like my raspados a certain way. So I just ordered the Mangoyada. It's literally just shaved ice with the mango mix they have. I asked for lechera as it was listed as an extra and the lady looked at me crossed eyed like I was a nut. Like I said I like my raspados a certain way. So we paid 75 cents for like a small drizzle of lechera. Sooo not worth it. I can buy a whole bottle for a dollar. Anyway, this place is over rated not real raspados and the service is horrible. I can and saw and didn't like. Will NEVER go back. I'll stick to my favorite one on 22nd. read more

Don't let the name fool you - there's much more to offer here than shaved ice. But those are awesome, too. They're not like the snow cones I remember eating with the fake corn syrup flavors, but are topped with actual fruit. This place just screams fresh. In addition to the snow cones, or "raspados", they also have fresh squeezed juices custom made from a long list of fruits & veggies. Plus, they have some unique items that must be typical in Mexico like "elotes" and "Tosti-bombs" that I'll have to try next time I'm here. Prices are great - way better than the equivalent at Whole Foods juice bar. Plus, it's a locally-owned small business inside of the cool Mercado San Agustin. Just stopped my to get my raspado fix and they were closed. The plaza was busy with a lot of patrons but Sonoran was closed. Bummer.

I first ordered a pineapple mango raspado with ice cream but after the first bite, some bees came by and drowned themselves in my raspado. I went back and explained to her what happened and she either wasn't listening or didn't understand what I was saying. So then I asked for a small pineapple mango raspado with ice cream but this time I wanted to try just a little bit of chamoy. She kept getting the order wrong and I kept having to repeat myself but she wasn't understanding. After about 5 minutes of going back and forth with her of what I wanted she finally got the order right. Right before I paid again, I told her how my previous raspado was ruined by those bees that flew inside of it. She just nodded and took my payment. After a few minutes she gave me a raspado that was completely overpowered by chamoy after I told her I just wanted a little just to try. I tried finding some ice cream to calm the overpowering chamoy but she forgot to put the ice cream too. read more

Went to Tucson Meet Yourself and had the worse customer service ever. The cashier rang up my order and we were asked to wait. After waiting and our number passed I politely asked the gentlemen at the pick up window if he could tell me the status of my order. The cashier immediately got defensive and in a unfriendly tone of voice told us that our order was a while ago and someone must have take our order. He then asked if we had walked away cause there was NO WAY that they could have made a mistake cause their system has been working perfectly in getting orders out. I explained to him that we were waiting where everyone else had been waiting. The cashier again raising his tone told me he doesn't know then what he could do to help us. The gentlemen at the pick up window said he would look at the tickets as soon as he had a chance. I told him thank you and that I would wait. The cashier than proceeded to keep saying he didn't know how he could help. I finally told him he could just make the drinks we requested and we would leave. The person I was with stated he could even just refund the money so that we could leave. He got upset to the point that the gentlemen at the pick up window had to tell him to calm down. As a business owner I would never allow this behavior by my employees. Customers even commented to me after the cashier handed us back our money after arguing for ten minutes that they were amazed by such uncalled for and immature behavior.
