I've been going to Sonora Quest for over 25 years , every 3 months and I can tell you i hate it !! Now they've moved to new location 5757 w thunderbird rd yesterday i went with an appointment waited 1/2 hour or so today I took my granddaughter with an appointment and we waited 1 3/4 hours the walk in were waiting 2 - 21/2 hours. Wish i could say never going back but unfortunately if have to get lab work you're screwed . read more

Not recommended. New policy in place to pay up front. I've learn that you have to sign "Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage" without reading. Yes, they tell you what's on document but telling & actually document is not the same. Under assumption, They would say most insurance won't pay without filing a claim. How do they know.. I have two insurance..they should process claim & if both insurance don't pay, then It's our responsibility to pay. Forcing to sign before reading, making assumptions & making people pay without attempt to process claim is NOT RIGHT to everyone! read more

This business, much like Lab Corp, does not care about your time. There is over a two and a half hour wait for a walk in patient. That is squarely ridiculous. Try and call them... they do not answer the phone. Always... leave a message and we'll never get back to you! Look at the all the different locations, none of them have much better than a two star review. But now they have a new twist, grub hub for blood. For $35 they will come to you. Really! Isn't health care costly enough? Somebody sits in an office in a thousand dollar suit while you get to sit in a waiting room. Not right at all. read more

I came here today to get a ton of blood work done. They have the chairs spread out they have the 6 feet rule going on for Covid. They require everyone who works there and anybody who comes into the suite to wear a mask. I was probably there 30 minutes total start to finish. People who were walk-ins were told it was an hour hour and a half wait. The entire staff is very friendly very informative of what you're getting done what you need to do this and that. So overall I'm happy with my experience coming to this location to get my blood work done. read more

Horrible horrible horrible! DO NOT! Go here. My girlfriend was unfortunately suffering from chronic nausea. We went to her primary doctor and they sent us here for bloodwork. They continued to schedule her appointment for the wrong time and day. So they suggested a walk in. We checked in at 8:50 for her 9oclock appointment. Now, I'm not sure if she was tired but the very rude receptionist told us the wait would be 2 hours. Fast forward about an hour and a half 10:30. She gets inside. They continued to tell her that she was supposed to be there at 9 but the receptionist told us to wait!! They said they were unable to do paperwork in 10 minutes and didn't do her cortisol level tests. The phlebotomist there that took her blood continued to tell her "Well, I don't know what to tell you. Figure it out." This is the most unprofessional place I've come across in a long while. Not to mention the horrible treatment of the other elderly patients. DO NOT GO HERE. We are now at the Emergency room at banner thunderbird and she is getting the care and help she actually needs. Save yourself the headache, go anywhere else. UPDATE: TURNS OUT SHE WAS PREGNANT. Greeted immediately, easy kiosk check-in, friendly communication at front desk. Sandra was very kind and professional, and very smooth and quick with the blood draw. Parking lot is very self-explanatory. Between Google maps and this parking lot, it was easy to find. Also good arrows and signage to navigate inside. Highly recommend. read more

My son is a transplant patient and has to do labs every three months if all is good with his labs.If his bloodwork takes a nosedive then his intervals become closer and impossible to get appointment so he can takes his meds immediately after at the correct time. So today the wait was almost two freaking hours! He now has to do labs every week because his numbers have become critical. Do they not realize how hard it is when you are critically ill? Today even the people with appointments were getting angry. They shut down lab on Eugie and did not adjust staff here. I hope today was an exception. read more

This was a fairly easy process. I made an appointment on line and although I did have to wait a bit because it was very busy (where do you not wait these days?) I was taken back by Perla. If I could give this lady more then 5 *I would. Generally phlebotomist either don't find my vein, or seem to use a large square needle and it really hurts but this time to my pleasant surprise I NEVER even felt the needle enter my vein!!! That was amazing to me as I'm not young and have had hundreds of blood draws but never one this painless. I even never got bruising. i am amazed. We need more like her. Thank you Perla! read more

A First timer there and this is what I experienced. *Wait time wasn't that long about 35 mins *Horrible attitude from a front desk lady named Risha. -calls a guy for his paperwork and then goes back to sit down(clearly the man never been here before). Lady had the nerve to say In a quiet waiting room with 5 people "Gosh can you believe people today..." -Another guy came in and the lady said his name wrong and said yeah whatever. She Doesn't bother to say the name or full name. *Doctors and nurses were so great with their patients. Although I don't like the way some workers there give horrible stares. read more

It is too bad that I cannot rate it lower than a 1 star. This morning, my daughter and I went for lab work at 7 am. It was already crowded. Tip: Go online and sign up for an appointment. Because we were a walk-in, other customers were helped first. They had a kiosk that they guided patients through for the initial check-in. Then customer service at the window took your lab orders and copays. My phlebotomist was not competent. He could not find a vein on my left arm. He was impatient and went in and out several times (5 times) and only succeeded to produce a lot of pain. I should have asked for another technician but I was too shocked to say anything. I told him that I thought that that arm was now compromised. He stopped and proceed to my right arm. He could not find a good vein and decided to try my hand instead. He then proceeded to give me the quick poke in poke out treatment (4 times). Then he finally got a flow, but he wasn't paying attention and lost it. He poked my hand at a different angle, got a little more blood, but took his eye off while moving the needle and dropped the vial. Then he tried to poke again. I yelped. He stopped and said, "Oh, it's okay, the vial is plastic." I said. "I think I am done." "Okay, I think we can compensate and I can move some blood into the second vial." The bandage he put on my right hand fell off at the elevator. It was a horrid experience. The supervisor was pleasant. I called Jill and informed her that the phlebotomist I had needed retraining and described my experience. She apologized and told me that I should've asked for another phlebotomist. She also said that if I ever got him again to ask for another person. She instructed me to ice my sites and to take Ibuprofen or Tylenol when I got home. She remarked, "Our Saturday pool is not our regular staff. Regular or not, Sonora Quest Laboratories need to have competent technicians doing procedures." I don't think I will be returning on a Saturday again. I was in so much pain, my daughter had to drive home. I took Ibuprofen and sent to bed. The ice took down the swelling on my left. There is a lot of bruising and swelling on my right hand. read more

Don't go to this place. They have horrid wait times. Front staff are rude and condescending. The lab techs are inexperienced; the one who drew me only had two months and was interrupted during my procedure to be asked questions meanwhile my lab tech pressed hard due to her distractions hurting me. Worst experience ever. I had a lab appointment at 10:45am on 5/29/19 that I made and arrived way before the appointment. They didn't get me in until 20 minutes after. The tech, Elisa, called me in mixing up my first and last name. After correcting her, she stated it was printed incorrectly on my papers. I brought it to her attention that the papers were correct. She just didn't pay attention. Her first 1st attempt drawing my blood was unsuccessful. She stuck the needle in and dug around for my blood. With no results, she stated my veins were too weak. The 2nd attempt was awful leaving a horrible bruise. Terrible experience with Elisa. She's clearly inexperienced and unprofessional. Will never use Sonora Quest Laboratories ever again. read more

What is the purpose of the kiosk? What is the purpose of the person behind the desk at the computer? I went to the lab as a walk- in for blood work and I asked the person at the desk behind the plexi-glass how long one had to wait to be seen on that day. She said 20-30 minutes, sooner if I hurried up and got the information filled out on the kiosk. Note the position of the kiosks. They are right in front of the plexi- glass. Couldn't I have just talked to the person behind the desk? I had to do that anyway after I filled out the information at the kiosk. Also note, the kiosks are certainly not six feet apart despite all the other markings for social distancing. I pushed the 'do not have appointment' choice on the screen with my finger. I pushed it three times. It did not work. The person behind the desk asked if I had an appointment. I said no and told her that I had pushed the appropriate box on the screen. I told her that it wasn't working. The person behind the desk told me to press the on-screen box. I tapped the box with my finger again. It did not work. Another person waiting for their blood work suggested I use the pen. Is the purpose of the kiosk to limit spread of Covid? Not if I must use a tool that has passed through countless hands throughout a day. I took a wipe from the sanitation station and cleaned the pen. I lightly tapped the 'do not have appointment' box. Still didn't work. After twenty minutes, a great deal of frustration, and the help of another patient, I was able to fill out the information on the kiosk. This is how it has been at all Sonora Quest kiosks I have dealt with at different locations in the Phoenix metro area. Again, are these supposed to be helpful tools? I have watched as others have the same troubles with these kiosks, also. The person behind the desk offers no help except to say, 'tap... tap it lightly... tap it lightly with the pen... tap the box..." After I was finished, I was told to go sit down and I would be called up. I was called up to the desk to give the person behind the plexi-glass information. Then I had to go sit down again. I had to wait another fifteen minutes, even after all of this. Good thing I wasn't having my blood pressure checked. read more

Went in 2 times. One was on Wednesday, don't show up if you think they open at 7am, they don't, it's at 11or 1130. Don't show up on Saturday's, they no longer open then. It's hard to find one open on Saturday, and all I did see are done by appointment only. Getting an appointment for a Saturday is now a joke. The one plus was, I tell the lab tech what and how to do my son's arm. I will not let them pick or hunt for his veins! I say it as soon as we walk in the room, I hope you have a sensitive touch to feel hard to find small veins! Then you have to use the smallest needle on him..Sandra listened to what I said, she made him roll up both sleeves and felt his arm. She found one, and in one poke got his 5 tubes. Thank You Sandra for taking time to listen what was said. The wait time was 30 minuets. You have better luck if you get there 30 minuets before it opens up to sign in. this lab is always subpar but today it was just ridiculous! i made my appt over a week ago. it was for 11:30. i'm still standing in the hallway waiting at noon ... it took 15 minutes to check in. only one person at the front desk. everyone else standing around ... i'm in the hallway because they literally have only 6 chairs open in the waiting room!! i mean c'mon ! i can go to walmart and the bank and stand in a line with people but i can't even get a chair here and I'm 66 years old with lupus. No one even cares that i'm out here. i hate this lab! i'll def drive further next time and go to 27th avenue one. read more

I was worried about all the bad reviews, but my experience was actually pretty good. I had a 10:15am appointment on a Saturday. I arrived at 10:05. The waiting room was packed when I arrived. I waited about 10 minutes before being called by my phlebotomist right at 10:15. She was friendly and efficient. I have rolling veins that usually give the phlebotomists a hard time when I donate blood, but she didn't have any issues. My collection took about 5-10 min and I was done! Seems like the problem people have here is they walk in expecting fast service. Make an appointment and you shouldn't have to worry about spending your morning in the waiting room. read more

And at least the waiting room has decent seating. If you have kids, it's pretty rough. Went early this Monday morning and was so pleased with the efficiency, friendliness, and kindness that this office presented to me as this was my first visit here. How can I give this place. Zero star. They screwed up my first fasting blood draw so I had to come back again. Second go around place is full everyone is mad. After waiting for two hours to get labs drawn, they only drew half of the blood for the order. I didn't realize this until a week later when the results came through my portal and half of the results were missing. They verified that both orders were in the system but only one set was drawn. They said they were booked for the following 4 weeks. read more

I waited over an hour to even have someone collect my paper and info. When I came up and asked what was going on they had completely skipped my name saying I left when I never did. Then told me they called out for everyone's paperwork and gave me a very rude attitude. I imagine he's the manager or something, because he was ordering the guy to fit me in. I had a 7:45 am appointment and was out the door by 7:43 am! I arrived about 15 minutes prior to my appointment and was called back for my lab work less than 10 minutes after my arrival. The office was clean, not crowded, and the front office personnel and lab techs were all very pleasant. This was my first visit to this office and will be the one I continue to use going forward. Made an appointment for my biometrics.... got here and it was like waiting in line for food stamps. The building stinks. The waiting area smelled like dirty diapers. The reception was weird. The employees were nice but spoke so quiet I couldn't hear them. There was about 20 people in the waiting area and people complaining they have been waiting over an hour, the staff really didn't seem to care. They had no regard for people's time. I left after 15 to 20 minutes due to the wrenching smell. I decided if the waiting area was that bad how hygienic could the rooms in back be??? Waste of time!! read more

I get that medical facilities can get busy, but this place is really the worst I have ever dealt with. Patients with appointments were kept waiting more than an hour past their scheduled time for what should be quick routine blood draws and the like. Woe to those who showed up as walk ins, they were waiting more than two hours. Staff appeared to have neither any interest nor a sense of urgency in trying to catch up. The fact that they have a big sign at check in citing the state statute which makes it a felony to assault a medical worker, should tell you about the general level of delays and frustration at this place. read more

I have a 15 year old daughter who if suffering from a recent illness requiring multiple blood draws. In the last two weeks, I have been to this location three times, twice for lab with her and once with a drop off. I had appointments for all three visits and was taken care of promptly. The first time, the appointment system wasn't working properly but Seth kept things running smoothly and we were still seen within a few minutes of our scheduled appointment. Both blood draws were performed by Donna. She is amazing! Please let her know how much I appreciate how patient and careful she was with my daughter. She is an extremely hard stick and being ill did not help with her fluid intake. Donna drew from her hand on both visits and did an amazing job. My daughter wants Donna every time. read more

Once I was in the back room to get blood drawn I could not understand the technician so I asked her to repeat what she said she just looked at me and said "never mind" and in a tone that was rather condescending. Serious? I don't know what was going on with the staff there but geez do not take it out on your clients. I mean we are the ones getting poked. I was nervous to begin with because I do not like needles and then to antagonize me on top of that...for what....your bad day? Never going to that location ever again. My husband had an appointment at 7:45. When we signed in I found out I had inadvertently scheduled the appointment at another office. Michael told me they would honor my appointment, he is the tech who drew my husband's blood and he was excellent and very professional. I hope when I go there in a few days to have my labs drawn Michael is on duty and can draw my blood. read more

When I 1st checked in I explained to both the gentleman and the lady working at the front desk that I have a drop off that is Containing stool specimen and that other was a form to get blood supplies done for my Doctor that is very urgent the gentleman at the front desk then stated that he will have one of there techs come to grab the stool specimen and they will be with me shortly to do my blood samples then 30mins past and I went to the front desk to see what was taking so long cause my stool samples had to be refidgrated then the gentleman at the front desk said they haven't took your samples yet I said no he stated they'll be with you in 5mins then 25 mins past so a whole 1hour past as I was walking up to ge front desk the tech megan called me back. She pulled me back into the room as we go into the room I told her that I was here to drop off stool samples that were stored in my bag for a hour and then stated to her i was not going to be doing my blood work today I told her I having been fasting for over 4 hours and I need to take medication that I had to eat something cause I'm not feeling well I explained to the technician megan as she gave me so much attitude that she pulled me out of the room and brought me to the front to check what was going on because your computer systems were down I told her that isn't my responsibility I told tell gentle in the front I had these samples over a hour ago then megan stormed off and said I'm dealing with this she said I'm taking the next patient in line. Who in fact had a drop off also she took her drop off but didn't bother to take mine. The manager stood behind the male receptionest the whole time this was going on observing everything then decided to hide in the back room because I asked where is your manager. Then the receptionest said that's him. Then the Male receptionest said what are you dropping off I said again for the 5th time to him I have a stool samples that needs to be dropped off. He asked me where your slips I need your slips. I told him there packed nicely inside this black paper bag I have with my samples. He told me I needed to pull them out he needs to see them physically. Then I asked if we could please do this in a room he refused my request to be pulled into a room for a second time and he asked again I need to see them now. I told him thank you for embrassing me in front of all these people because you wanted to see the slips I had to set all my specimens on the counter so he could verify them all. As this was going on the manger was watching the entire time and did not bother to save me an embarrassment he simply went to a backroom and closed the door. I was so embarrassed I walked out of there and left my samples there on the counter and immediately called my insurance company and filed a complaint against your clinic and I'm going to leave this statement on Yelp, google about this place never again Sonora quest. read more
