Ok so I just called and told the gentleman that I have a 2006 Charger and 2006 Magnum that have remote starters already installed but I need to have Viper alarms installed. He said "Ok, that will cost you $750 each". I said ok, "Which system are you installing?" He said" 5706". I said "what does that come with?" he says, "remote start and alarm." I came here to get my Viper alarm system reprogrammed. I came on a Sunday afternoon one day, and Kevin told me to come later because he was to busy to help me. No biggie, I understand because I came without calling. The second time I came, I realized this business does not really care for small work. Reprogramming my viper system was pretty cheap so they treated me not the best. If your getting a lot of work done like sub install or something of that sort, I'm pretty sure they'll treat you better. They did cleanly reprogram and do what was needed to get the Viper system working again. I wouldn't come here again just because of the bad service Kevin provided, but would recommend if you need professional work done like subs or sound system. read more

My wife and I wanted a new stereo for our 11 year old Saab (which despite her age is still a beauty to me!). After calling a few places, I reached Elias at Sonic Sound and he sounded very knowledgable, and did a great job of explaining the process and what would be needed. When I took the car in, there were a few minor issues because Saabs can be tricky beasts, but Kevin (the owner) figured everything out and worked through the issues and got me going on my way. A few days later, I noticed one small issue and swing by Sonic Sound. They fixed it quickly while I waited and everything has been 100% A-OK since then. He walked me through all the options for tinting what is legal, what isn't, his store and garage was clean. There were vehicles in the back that had just received tinting so we had a lot of different examples to chose from of each %. After the positive reviews I read I checked the place out and had a simple Alpine CD/tuner receiver installed in a 99 Volvo. It was done perfectly for $220. I checked the price of the unit against Amazon and it was exactly the same ($109). The tech who I worked with, Elias, actually steered me away from a more expensive Alpine unit ($199) helping me to see that the less expensive unit met my basic needs just fine. I'm a fan. read more

I had an existing stereo that stopped working and needed some help. The fellows at Sonic were great about walking me through the different options. Plus, its a comfortable place to hang while waiting on an install, with couches, tv and wifi. They got me out of there quickly. Even better, after driving home I thought they hadn't hooked up my woofer. I brought it back and they showed me that the wiring in the back was messed up (which wasn' t because of them). Went here a few years back and asked them to install a loud speaker for me, they claimed to have done a great job and they did initially. Once I drove off I realized there was a loud sound coming from the engine into the cabin. I drove around for 1 week and then took it to the dealer. It turns out when they installed the speaker they simply left one of the main covers from the engine to the cabin fully open and never bolted it back on, this is the reason the sound was coming into the cabin. Simply a poor job of installation. Also one of the buttons they installed was not straight, I had to go in myself and turn it to make sure it was straight. I was not satisfied with the service here. read more

I bought a remote start system from Sonic Sound and had them install it. It worked great for two weeks, then I had a problem with my door not unlocking. They replaced the system with a different brand at no cost and were very gracious. Also, once it needed to be re-programmed after my battery died (due to sitting for over a week in cold weather) they took care of that easily as well. These guys are EXCELLENT. Last year, they installed an iPod adapter in my car, hard wired to my radio. A few months later, the cord got twisted and the sound from the iPod started to sound distorted. I called and Sonic Sound asked me to bring the car in right away, in 5 minutes, they reset the system and gave me a new, heavy duty cord, all at no charge. What great customer service!! What really impressed me about these guys happened last week. When I put a friend's iPhone charger in to my AC adapter to charge her phone in my car, the entire sound system went blank and stopped working (turns out I blew a fuse). I was frustrated (who wants to commute without their tunes?!) and turned to the guys at Sonic Sound. I took the car in the same day I called, and again, they reset the fuse, and sent me on my way, no charge. Customer service = top notch. You guys have earned a customer for life. I looked online for someone who could help install an iPod jack into my '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not an easy task and all of my searches came up with limited options. After calling some shops, I was given quotes up to $500! I have a friend in the business, who said it could be done for way less, so I kept looking. I came to Sonic after being completely hosed down by a competitor in Falls Church. I didn't need much, and Kevin (the owner) didn't try to oversell me, either. The installation was very neat and clean and professional. Now, a year later, I return, wanting "a bit more power". Kevin tweaked the amp and CD settings, and, I think he got me 25% better sound than before. He could have easily sold me newer front speakers, but told me they weren't really needed. Cost this time: "no charge". What's there not to like? PS Very pleasant staff, up at the counter and back in the garage. I recently went to Sonic Sound to get my factory-installed, standard car stereo repaired in my 2009 Subaru Forester. I suspected that my kids had stuffed the CD player with change and the dealership wouldn't even touch it. Though Kevin at Sonic Sound couldn't give any guarantees that the system hadn't been damaged by a short caused by the metal coins, he was able to take the stereo out quickly, got the change out and it has worked perfectly ever since. The price was very reasonable, they gave me a military discount and even said that if permanent damage had been caused and the radio subsequently broke down, they would apply what I had already paid to the purchase of another system. The only reason I didn't give another star is because I had to wait over 2 weeks for an appointment! I recommend them anyway. read more

I had become accustomed to xenon in my previous vehicles and wanted them in my new vehicle. EXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY! I bought a used convertible Mini Cooper that did not come with a built in auxiliary port for my iPhone/tablet or bluetooth capability. I called many places and was at my wits end because no one seemed to know how to either add Bluetooth to my car or even install an auxiliary port. Most of the people I spoke to were either rude or uneducated about how to go about doing this. I finally googled car stereo places in Arlington and found Sonic Sound. I spoke with Henry who was more than helpful and even offered to do the research for me to ensure that I ordered the correct kit online to add bluetooth. After doing the research, he offered to add a new stereo receiver that has the aux port and bluetooth at a price slightly higher than had I just had an aux port installed. Everyone at Sonic was so helpful and knowledgable and when I picked up my car after the installation of an Alpine receiver I was blown away with the quality of sound while listening to my music through my phone via bluetooth and the ability to answer calls with the buttons on my steering wheel. I can not tell you how happy I am that I lucked out and found Sonic Sound. The price was reasonable and the entire experience turned what was beginning to be a nightmare into an easy, time friendly process.
