Gary and team scheduled an appointment with me quickly, arrived on time, and were very friendly, and communicative throughout the install process. While it turns out that the supplier sent me the wrong equipment, and the 2 Watt team were therefore unable to install it, they tried to install what was sent, following both the instructions, and the YouTube videos for this new Model 3, for which the install is a bit different to the old one. They kept me in the loop the whole time. Ultimately, we jointly decided not to continue with the install, and rather to undo it, until Hansshow/ Tes Studio, send me the correct unit. They then charged me a fraction of the price of the fixed price install despite the fact that they spent at least the same, if not more time on this than they would have were the unit the correct one. Gary was amazing. He met me at my home and managed to figure out my imported car's unusual setup. A talented electrician and nice guy too.

Gary's a very friendly guy and was easy to work with. The initial flat rate quote was bumped up from $150 to $250 (which is what I had been quoted elsewhere from the start). Gary came to my house after some back and forth, setting up a time and date. The first time was pushed back a day, and then his guy was so late getting to my house that the job had to be pushed back another day. I had asked to install a special wiring harness that connects unconnected speakers in my car and also install an OEM sub and amp. The wiring harness was installed and it works perfectly. The sub and amp didn't work out, and it took his guy nearly two hours to determine there weren't enough connections for them. Having not completed the larger part of the job, he still charged the full price and then offered to discount future work. I'm very happy with what was accomplished, but I'm still shocked that there was no thought to see if all required connections were pods before wasting so much time and money. I do not recount service that charges for their own ineptitude. read more

TENS STARS IF I COULD! Gary made my whole entire week! My friend's husband had given me a jump backwards which caused my radio to blow out...or so I thought, and so did the first mechanic I went to. I have a 2007 Infiniti FX and parts are super pricy. First guy quoted me about $950 but I wasn't convinced based on all the other electrical things that were working just fine that I needed a new radio as he said. I was sure it was a fuse of some sort. So I search yelp for an audio-specific mechanic and found Gary with other glowing reviews. So I called him last night and he offered to come then but I was on my way to yoga so we agreed to do this morning. He came to my house, took my extra set of keys and I left for work. By the time I sat at my desk, he was done and called me from my car with the music playing in the background! It only cost me his service fee of $65. I've got to think of a good Christmas gift to send him. Bonus: Gary is a Vietnam Veteran and when he saw my dad's veteran license plate cover (which I kept on my car to remember him by) we chatted about their experiences and when he called to let me know my car was fixed he said "If you ever want to talk about your dad, you can call me". Come to find out they have the *same* remote starter for *half* the price. My recommendation is that you call them before buying a remote starter and see if they have what you want. My alarm stopped affecting the the door locks recently, including that the remote control no longer affects the locks. Given that (a) I've lost my driver-side door handle, with one little tab still allowing me to open the door, but who knows if it might break off soon?, and (b) someone recently tried breaking into my car through the passenger side so that the key will not go in any longer, I reeeeally could not go much longer before fixing my ability to open the locks by remote! (If that one tab breaks off on the driver side, I would literally have absolutely no way to get into my car with the doors locked, short of breaking a window!) One local shop that I've gone to for other things says that they don't do alarms. Another said that they sometimes do but didn't want to take this one on. Another place, farther away in lower Alexandria, that I've gone to in the past, is now closed. I came to Yelp and saw Gary's info. I gave him a call this morning and he said he'd be here in less than an hour. Gary's a great guy. Very friendly, chatty, interesting to talk with as he works, and--most importantly--he figured out the problem and fixed it! (He also said he'd try to find a new door handle and passenger-side lock.) Called Gary same day I wanted my stereo installed, about 10:30am, he said that was no problem he'd be around at about 2pm. Called me back cause he finished early, so he came at 11:30am. I had a blown fuse that he didn't upcharge anything for, other places charging upwards of $150 for an install, he quoted me at $70 and kept to it. Excellent service. My car was broken into, and the bums tried to steal my in dash stereo system and were unsuccessful, but badly damaged the unit. I was looking to have the stereo replaced. Gary quoted me a great price compared to local shops. I called, and he said he could fit me in that day. I gave pause because it was cash only, I had to drive to DC from Maryland to get it done, and I didn't see a listed address for the shop. I let Gary know I changed my mind and would be going to a local shop in my nearby vicinity, even if I paid a little more. He responded that he could travel to me, which I thought was very nice since I live 30 minutes outside of dc, and it was more convenient for me staying at home. I was still a little skeptical because I've never had work done on my car in my parking lot except for small mechanical jobs from a mechanic that I know personally. But because he had high yelp ratings I decided to go with it. He showed up as promised, and he did a nice job even though my stereo kit wasn't the easiest to put in. ALL I CAN SAY IS DO NOT USE THEM!!!! I have an 02 Mercedes E320. And they jacked it up so bad I have had to have 2400 dollars worth of repairs to the electrical system because they hooked stuff up wrong and it fried my wiring in the car and what they did do they did half ass. Had them install 4 upgraded door speakers an amp two new fifteens head unit and viper remote start and alarm. Out of the 4 door speakers they only put in 2 and now none of my rear speakers work. The remote start doesn't work the alarm doesn't work nor does it open or lock the car. And nobody would touch what they did because they did such a crap job. Had to take it to the dealership to have them fix it. The dude Gary said he worked for Mercedes for over ten years. No way. He was sitting .ore than he was working he helped did all the work. I called and tried to say I wanted my money back and he said he would try to fix what was wrong but after what they did the first time not a chance. He said he would give a partial refund. I had an AutoPage autostart alarm installed to my Tahoe. First it was great that Gary came to my job to install..convenience is everything. Second was the pleasant attitude and patience Gary had. I had 2 other shops tell me they would not install b/c AutoPage are difficult to program and would take to long to install. We had numerous small pins that needed to be inserted into a plug, and I broke one off and put another in the wrong hole! I think he was at my place for about 3 hrs, but he didn't charge more.
