My factory Bose POS system finally rolled over in my Z, so I took it to Sonic Sound to see about a repair. They gave me fair quotes for some alternatives to patch it up, but ultimately I decided to go all in and get a good quality rig and replace the whole system. They recommended a very nice Alpine rig and Kicker subwoofer for a good price and the pricing was as good as I could get anywhere else, better than most places. The installation was flawless and Kevin, Elias and the guys were very professional, answered every question I had and gave me a very thorough run through all of the features. The complete experience was much better than I expected considering the kind of service you generally expect from most places today, especially when it comes to your car. I would recommend them to friends and family and you in a heartbeat. The system was perfectly suited to the car, 10 times better than the factory Bose, immaculate sound, great features, phone integration, and they offered a lifetime warranty for labor. A lot of other vendors I do business could learn a lot about taking care of the customer from these guys. I had a great experience here. I recently took my car in for the first time, to get an older sound system worked on because only one speaker was working. I was expecting to pay for one hour worth of labor, as we had agreed to over the phone. 50 min later i was brought to the back where they were working on my car and I was given a full and detailed explanation of the work that was done, which just required some rewiring to get the speakers working again. Some options were recommended in the event the problem persisted, but I did not feel any pressure at all to purchase anything and I did not buy anything at all. When I got to the register to pay, I was charged 1/4 less than we had agreed to because the work was not as complicated as it could have been. It is obvious that their customer service strategy is a long-term one where they treat their customers respectfully and deal with them honestly so that they return and give them business. This is an effective strategy and an honest one. I will be returning to them for all future work and recommending them to everyone that needs work done on their car. The radio in my 2007 Honda Accord died. The dealer wanted $1900 to replace it. I went to Sonic Sound and got a new radio installed for 1/4 of that price. The folks at Sonic Sound know what they are doing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to them. read more

Amazing, quick service! Went in on a Sunday doing some research on a radio upgrade. Kevin was very knowledgeable and told me what systems worked with my car. Quoted me much less than other places. When I showed up to install, shop was clean and very hospitable. On the spot, I asked to tint a couple windows. Very reasonable and didn't extend the time to do the work. Very happy with the results. We had our windows tinted here. The service was professional and the product is great! No bubbles, no peeling, etc. highly recommended. They have a nice waiting area complete with leather recliners and a television if you choose to wait while the work is being done (this takes about 2 hours). The service here was not what I expected. Incorrect parts were ordered for the install and then forced fit into the vehicle. Upon inspection of the work done there was obvious damage done by the technician. The work was sub par, the people on sight were not professionals and the dismissal of the complaints lent itself to a 3rd world country where you would have to bribe someone to get the situation reconciled. I purchased an aftermarket audio system for my car (2014 Scion FR-S) and brought it to Sonic Sound to do the install. They were very kind and let me in the garage to see the work space and go over my car with me when I dropped off my car. I requested they contact me if they had any issues during installation. During installation the sub-woofer enclosure wasn't fitting properly and the technician drilled/bored one of the mounting points in order to force it to fit instead of letting me know there was an issue. They informed me when I picked up my car that this is what they had to do to complete the installation. I contacted the aftermarket company who I ordered the audio system from (OEMAudio+) and they actually shipped me a brand new sub-woofer enclosure overnight and took back my old one to help resolve the issue because the enclosure would not stay mounted after installation. OEMAudio+ later confirmed the mold was bad on the old enclosure and apologized. However, even with the new enclosure that was test fitted to fit my car, the drilled out mounting point has prevented me from being able to install the new enclosure securely. I test fitted the new enclosure in a friend's FR-S and it mounted without issue. I followed up with Sonic Sound and they were willing to uninstall my entire system for a discounted rate and revert my car back to its stock audio system since this issue could've been avoided if they had notified me first before drilling. I appreciate their effort to try and make things right. read more

Called Sonic Sound based on positive reviews here and on Google+, spoke directly to Kevin (the owner) and told him what I was looking to do (upgrade the radio on a 12 year old car to get bluetooth and hands free capability). He immediately gave me a list of options in single and double DIN that would work for me and fit my budget. He was friendly and easy to work with and his guys knocked the job out in 2 hours. He has parking available behind the shop if the strip mall parking in front is overrun, just call ahead and he'll take care of you. I definitely don't think he tried to "oversell" me on any equipment, and he worked with me on the price when I brought in research from online shopping. I've been coming to this shop since 2008/2009 when I first got a gift certificate from my parents for a new stereo. Since then, I've purchased a full car audio setup from all 4 speakers, a sub, a head unit, and an amplifier, had parts put into new cars, and gotten window tinting. I blew my rear car speaker on a Friday afternoon and the folks at SS squeezed me in for a same day appointment on Saturday. A kick ass working car stereo is as important to me as 4 functioning wheels and steering wheel, and Henry didn't disappoint me by working with me to choose and then quickly install high quality, competitively priced pair of Alpine 6x9s. I went in there this past Friday, primarily because of the reviews here, to see about installing an inexpensive head unit into a 7 year old car whose radio was failing. I've seen inexpensive nav systems online that would work in that car and thought they might have something not necessarily "cheap" but at least lower cost than something high-end. When we went up to the counter to talk to the guy, I explained I wanted something inexpensive, but not necessarily the bottom-of-the-line, but not the top either. After trying to get his internet connection to work, he ultimately gave up, walked me over to the display closest to the counter and immediately started pointing out units that were $750-$1000. When I told him that that was a little more than I wanted to spend for a seven year old car, he asked what I was looking at. When I responded in the $400-$500 range, he literally just interrupted me and said that I could buy one and bring it in and they would charge me $200 to install it. He literally just dismissed me and walked away. Ended up going to Best Buy and got a Pioneer head unit with Apple Car Play (on sale for $200 off) installed for about $550. I would have waited a bit for this guy's internet connection to come back up so he could look at alternatives, but it turned out that this fool's rudeness ultimately paid off for me. read more

i just called to make an appointment for window tinting. when I mentioned that I needed the window tinting because of skin sensitivity, the individual I spoke with was very, very helpful in telling me that I might consider bringing my medical info to the DMV for stronger tint. he was very professional. Just an hour before closing I had arrived with my classic 1983 Mercedes 380 SL to swap a non-working Kenwood receiver with a new Pioneer DEH-150MP I had ordered at the last minute from Amazon in order to demo the car the following morning. These guys are exceptional professionals. Before getting started they clearly highlighted all issues. During their work they discovered that the radio antennae had been severed and offered to repair that as well. All work was performed spot on and under 1 hour. I purchased a pioneer stereo on thanksgiving eve at a great price. I was visiting from out of town and have a stereo shop of my own in Los Angeles. I came into the shop asking for Bluetooth audio setup for my older car. I was quickly shown some options and the recommended approach, told the cost and estimated time to install. I scheduled an appointment for the next day, arrived and waited in the shop in the recliners watching tv and catching up on emails. What a great place! My husband and I made the mistake of first going to Best Buy to see about replacing our broken car radio/CD player/iPod player. Not only was nobody around to help us, when we finally did talk to a guy in the installation department, we learned that the installation kit would have to be purchased online (not sold or carried in the store). Ridiculous! Fortunately we remembered Sonic Sound in Arlington. Within 3.5 hours, we had a new, exactly-what-we-wanted, fully and properly installed stereo system in our car. The store was quite busy (it was a Saturday), but we were treated efficiently, competently, and professionally. Elias, our salesperson, was great! These guy do really bad business. I had boughten a remote car installation online which my buddy was suppose to do but was not able to follow through because he was in the service. I called Sonic sound up and explained the situation over the phone. They said ok even if you didn't buy it from us, it's $150 to $200 and I asked why the price range. They said if it has an alarm or not. I being no techie but told him over the phone I don't think it has an alarm from reading the manual. So I show up early to my appointment and he said it's gonna be $200 dollar becuase it has an alarm. I was like are you sure, so he gives it another second look in the box. He then said your right there is no alarm but its still gonna be $200. He starts giving me some other reason why, which I didn't want to listen too. I said buddy, you quoted me over the phone and it's seems just like a simple installation with no alarm. I decided to leave and told him I will probably not give you a good review for being misleading and he starts to argue with me as I leave the store. We got into a shouting argument as there were other customers there. I don't get these people, If people don't want your service, let them leave in peace, why put up an argument in front of customers? read more
