Indoor comfy eating area
Kathleen C.

So it has been along time since I have been to a sonic. Not because I am a food snob but because I am never near one. This past Saturday my daughter had a friend over and they were craving sonic. We went and I was confused but in a good way- when did sonic get an inside cool sit down area and patio? Comfy chairs and tvs? Where has this sonic been all my life? I had a grilled chicken sandwich and some crispy onion rings. The kids had popcorn chicken and a coney dog. Still fast food but better than average and I didn't have to eat in my car! The blasts were a little iffy. All the add ins like cookie dough were on top and not mixed in and the the cups were not full but- hey - they still tasted good.

Drive thru only after 7:00pm

Drove out to this location because we wanted to celebrate our kiddo's first day of school. We were met at the door of the indoor dining area by someone telling us that they were closing the inside and all of the parking bays, and that the only thing they were going to keep open was the drive thru. I kindly told the lady that we were going to find somewhere else to eat, to which she offered the chance to go through the drive-thru and then park the car to come eat on the patio. Still slightly perturbed, I told her how this doesn't make sense and was not the dining experience we were looking for. So for your sake, all of the car bays and indoor dining closes at 7:00pm. Our kiddo had specifically requested Sonic on this day and was crushed as we headed back to the car. So besides my better judgement I did end up in the drive thru. I actually placed a mobile order and still had our order arrive to the vehicle incorrect. Look, I totally understand that they are understaffed. But none of these changes were ever published online or on the door. Half of the car bays have a chain pulled across them or have an "out of order" sign plastered on the screen. It just was a miserable experience. It was clear that the team running the place was not going out of their way to make it any easier to enjoy the restaurant. As we sat in another parking lot watching car after car pull into bays and be turned away, as well as go up to the door only to be waved off by staff inside, I felt like I needed to pass on this review. The management made no attempt to communicate or accommodate. I'll be encouraging our kiddo to eat else-where in the future.

Sooooo Kese was dying for slush and we noticed the 1/2 off all day when you order off the app sticker while trying to decide what size she wanted. Omg. She was like a kid in a candy store. She already had the app downloaded and wahlah she sat and ordered the slushes. 2 Medium Blue Raspberry Lemonade Slush. For $2+. Can't beat a deal like that. Yall have created a monster now. She'll be here everyday. Smh. Wait until the kids find out. My first time trying her flavor. My usual is Raspberry Lemonade.

On apple maps it says they are open until 9pm. I pulled up at 8:35pm and I was told they were closed. I informed them what their hours were online and he hesitated before answering, "We closed at 8." My friend and I went there earlier in the week and were served after 8. You shouldn't work a job if you don't like the hours. ‍

I stopped by just to get a quick snack. When I pulled In they were not crowded at all. I placed my order and it was out within 5 minutes and the order was correct. I ordered chilli cheese tots and a strawberry sprite. Usually when I go to the location in homewood my order is always wrong but never at this location. The girl who brought my food out was so nice. I will definitely frequent here more often.

Courtney did a great job at the window! The cheeseburger was outstanding! You need to make the route 44 larger.

Did not follow CoVid protocol. Gave my dog covid and she died. That's all I've got to say about that really I promise.

Always have a good meal when in the mood for simple honest fast food, served quickly, fresh and hot. Love the frozen lemonade or limeade

The guy working the front counter was great help he was really good at talking up everything on the menu. If you owe this place he deserves a raise (it was 4/16/26 around 1400) it was basically a fast food vibe with a waiter serve. You order at the counter and they will bring it to you and come clean your table. Good stuff

Baja Burger may want to gather the staff together and have a difficult conversation about the word…read more"burger" being in the restaurant name. Because when I walked in and asked the very nice guy at the register what their best item was, he didn't hesitate for even half a second. "Fried chicken club sandwich. Hands down." Not "one of our burgers." Not "depends what you like." Nope. Immediate confidence. The kind of confidence that makes you trust a stranger with your financial future. So naturally I ordered exactly that. He even doubled down and told me it was the best sandwich he's ever had. Ever. That's a dangerous level of hype to put on a chicken sandwich. At that point I wasn't ordering lunch anymore. I was preparing for a spiritual experience. I got the sweet potato fries on the side and sat there waiting like a kid staring at the oven on Christmas morning. Then the sandwich arrived. And honestly? Visually, this thing deserved its own entrance music. Beautiful sandwich. Crispy golden chicken, stacked perfectly, looked like it had been assembled by a food stylist with relationship issues. I took the first bite and immediately realized what was wrong. Flavor had called in sick. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly. Great crunch. Juicy inside. Beautiful breading. But somehow nobody introduced it to salt, pepper, seasoning, spices, or joy. It tasted like the kitchen spent all their energy making it look incredible and forgot the whole "taste" portion of the assignment. My colleague ordered the exact same thing and had the exact same reaction, which honestly made me feel better because for a second I thought COVID had made a surprise comeback. The sandwich was one shake of Cajun seasoning away from greatness. The sweet potato fries were solid flavor-wise, but a little limp. Not tragic. Just lacking that crispness that makes you keep stealing fries after you're already full. This place feels like a really good concept that just needs somebody in the kitchen to become emotionally invested in seasoning. Three stars feels fair. Nothing was bad. Nothing offended me. It was just aggressively average after being introduced with Super Bowl-level hype. I'd come back, but next time I'm ordering an actual burger at the place called Baja Burger. Feels like that's probably the safer bet.

The atmosphere is casual and nostalgic, with regular customers coming in and staff who clearly know many of them by name. It has that classic American hot dog stand feel that reflects a long standing Southern food culture. I ordered a classic hot dog with chili and mustard, fries, and a drink. The food was simple, affordable, and filling. From a public health perspective, this type of restaurant represents traditional comfort food that is high in sodium and processed meats, which we know can contribute to chronic disease when eaten frequently. However, it also plays an important role in community identity and accessibility. The prices are reasonable, making it an option for people looking for a quick, inexpensive meal. Overall, Tony's reflects how cuisine culture is not just about nutrition, but also about tradition, affordability, and local history. It was a solid experience and a good example of how food connects people in a community.

Just a tiny, iconic hole in the wall that exists for one reason: to serve hot dogs that mean business. When you walk in, you already know you're not here for the décor. You're here because you're craving a hot dog and you want it done right. I ordered the Chicago dog, which showed up looking like it had zero intention of fitting politely inside its bun. This thing was juicy, oversized, and required a concerning amount of napkins. The pickles were crisp, the peppers had the right bite, the mustard was exactly what it should be. Everything hit. The only thing missing was that neon green relish that looks radioactive but somehow makes a Chicago dog official. I kind of missed it. A little. Then I got adventurous. Mistake number one. I ordered the Beef Sandwich, what I can only describe as a sloppy joe with a pickle on top. It sounded bold. It tasted... fine. Not terrible. Not memorable. Just sort of there. It's like I betrayed the hot dog gods and they let me know. My colleague went with the burger, which Tony's is apparently campaigning as "best of" material with the local news crowd. He said it was decent and a great value. High praise in burger language. Now the onion rings? Absolute perfection. Crispy, golden, and cooked exactly the way onion rings should be cooked. No notes. If I had stuck strictly to the hot dogs, this would've been an easy five-star situation. But I strayed. That's on me. Four stars. Next time, I'm staying loyal to the dogs.

We were greeted promptly and took a few minutes to look at the menu. I LOVE roast beef, so it peaked my interest. My wife chose the Smiley burger. We placed our order and grabbed a seat. Place was quiet even though it was probably 75% full for lunch. Roast beef was served hot in toasted sour dough. Cheddar, tomato, lettuce and horseradish topped the generous portion of roast beef. Bread was crisp and the beef was hot and juicy. Horseradish gave a nice tangy flavor. My wife's Smiley burger was hand patted. Juicy and perfectly cooked. Bun was soft inside and nicely toasted in the outside. Bread and butter pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce topped it off. But the star of the show were the fries cooked in beef tallow!! Hot and salty, crispy and a deep flavor. I would come back just for the fries. Although a little bit pricey for lunch, it was excellent! Staff were friendly and attentive!
