Haven't been to sonic in a while and was craving mozzarella sticks and a chicken sandwich. I was 1st very disappointed that you don't offer this any longer. this is our second time visiting in one week. Both times the restroom is horrific and unusable for women. Talk to staff but they don't seem to care. They said homeless destroyed it. So the food is good. That's not the issue. The burgers are juicy, the chicken sandwiches were seasoned well and the pickles were a nice tough. Even the sides were good. The fries were cooked well and the mozzarella sticks were cooked well -- sometimes places overcook them and you cannot taste the cheese but that's not what happened here. The problem is the speed and the wait. There were to people ahead of us in the drive thru and we waited almost 30 minutes from the time we hit the drive thru (which included waiting 5 minutes just to place our order) until we got our food. When I contacted customer service, I was offered a free side "credited to my Sonic account" which would expire in 30 days. When I told them I did not have a Sonic account, they said that's all they could do and if I did not have a Sonic account, they could not do anything. Stopped here for a quick dinner the other night, but maybe should have kept driving to the BK. Ordered a #10, crispy chicken sandwich combo -- w/ fries & a Sprite. Our orders came out, and my fries were missing from the bag, so we had to go ask for them (they came out a few minutes later). Which reminds me, if you need ketchup for fries or tots, you need to tell them to put some in the bag; because they will bring it out with *nothing* to dip your fries in. The chicken sandwich was really disappointing -- thin and dry, and really quite flavorless. Given the competitive market out there for fast food crispy chix sandwiches, you'd think Sonic would try a little harder here. Maybe offer a spicy sauce to add a little zing? Madras, OR Sonic I can see why Sonic is likely going out of business, they can't get competent help to do a basic job that even a monkey could do. Every single time I have ever gone to Sonic they mess up at least one thing in my order, but usually more. And when you have to drive nearly 20 min. to get there and then drive home, to find out they messed it up, it really ticks me off. Pretzel Twists, you order with the cheese sauce. One cheese sauce is just enough for one twist, so if you order two with cheese sauce, you should get two freezing cheese sauces - NOT JUST ONE!! You get just one you are stuck with one plain pretzel twist with nothing! You order mozzarella sticks (LG) that's 8 sticks, with marinara sauce you should get an absolute minimum of two sauce packs, should get at least 3. Half the time you don't get any sauce or they give you Ranch. Who would want Ranch sauce on mozzarella sticks? I absolutely despise Ranch sauce/dressing to begin with, but on mozzarella sticks? What moron would even put that in the bag and who wants mozzarella sticks without marinara sauce, period? I get really sick of fast food places being incapable of getting an order correct. And I worked at a fast food place when I was a teenager, it is a really simple job. And they now make really good wages and they can't get an order correct. Blows the mind, especially with the exorbitant prices they charge for ever shrinking (size) products. So not surprising at all to read that Sonics are going out of business everywhere. All I wanted was a little road trip snack. How hard is it to get someone a corn dog and some ketchup? apparently really difficult for the sonic employees. We went through the drive through and it took a very long time for a very simple order. and we specifically asked for a couple ketchup packets. They didn't give us ketchup, so we just walked back over to ask and they acted like they didn't see us, so we went back through the drive thru. the woman rolled her eyes at us and acted like we were rude?!? we were very polite & simply wanted some ketchup. Horrible service. When ordering over the speaker at the drive thru the man had messed up my order and when I pulled up to the window and was handed my order I realized I was missing two Items. I then asked for it to be corrected and would even pay for this miscommunication but the manager denied me and said I would have to go around and wait in the line that I had just waited in for 20 minutes. THE DOG I stopped in for a Sonic lunch on my way through Madras on my way to Points East in September 2019. I was pretty hungry and the fellow at the gas station recommended the hot dog. in retrospect I find that odd since he was a big guy. my Chicago hot dog was rather authentic and quite tasty but really only suitable fare for a nine year old. I could have eaten about three. next time I will order the Big Dog, suitable for adults. or even better, next time I'll wait til Prineville and hit up the Tastee Treet there. I only had a memorable pie a-la-mode, but I noticed everyone there was attacking their burgers with relish. literally. and there is a park across the street where I was able to relax for a bit. THE RESTROOM as far as the Sonic restrooms go I can see other reviewers are pretty hard on the establishment for having a single bathroom. I thought one toilet was pretty weird for a major burger chain on a county two-lane. compare it to a burger king and you will see what serving the roadside public requires. multiple stainless sinks and toilets are not cheap but they are a necessary investment. the bathroom needs to be expanded. the owner is saving a sweet amount of money making us eat in our cars instead of maintaining an entire air conditioned dining area. (and I was on a motorcycle so I just sat there in the heat.) the day I visited, the bathroom was out of order. a be-gloved employee was working hard trying to get it back online, with about seven folks waiting. I didn't have the half-hour it would have taken to wait. I certainly don't blame the employees, they are doing the best they can with essentially home-depot, out-of-state-landlord-grade plumbing fixtures. the owner need to step up and spend or just give up and rent a few port-a-potties. read more

I would give zero stars if I could, actually negative. We had ordered 4 cheeseburgers and when we got home and opened them there were no hamburger patties on ANY of them. Ok, whatever. I pulled up to the menu/ordering area, and after a few minutes the girl inside says "I can tAke your order, just a moment?" I thought she was ready and started to order. She says "what?" So I started to order again. Then she says, " I can take your order, just a moment?" I said "are you telling me you are ready, or are you telling me to wait?" She says gain, "I can your order, just a moment?" I said, "ok, so you want me to wait. No problem. Just said "Order now." When you're ready. I wait a few more minutes, and what do I hear??? "I can your order, just a moment?" So I ask her, "can I just pull forward and order from the window?" She tells me "No! You need to order from there." What the sam hell? I just want to order food, pay you, get my food and leave. So I order, and she says, "what? Can you repeat your order?" I repeated my order and she says. "Okay." So I pulled forward assuming she got my order. When I get to the window, she tells me the amount, and I give her a $10. She comes back to the window and makes a motion like she's going to throw the change at me. I get it, people have bad days. Don't take it out on your customers! I got my food and drove away. I haven't looked to see if the order is right yet. I used to love this sonic. The people were great, service was fast, and food as as you would expect. But no longer. I have been there many times since moving to Madras last September. It has been so inconsistent, when you pull up you never know what you're going to get as far as customer service. The food can also be inconsistent as well. I love their Sonic Master blast, but you don't know what to expect when you receive it. At times it's loaded with Snickers bits and perfect. Other times, you get scarcely any bits in the whole order! It's super frustrating to say the least! I know they've had problems keeping staffed there, at pat times they had to shut down for a couple nights. That's crazy in our economy right now, but just to be fair, Dairy Queen, their competitor can also be closed early or shut on Mondays because they don't have enough employees to keep it open normal hours and days. read more

This review is long overdue. I was in town with my family for the total solar eclipse in August. My husband & I were the first ones to arrive and our campsite wasn't open yet so we stopped here to kill time & get a bite to eat. The food was good, the diet cherry limeade was so refreshing in the hot weather. An hour or two after we left I realized I couldn't find my purse when it dawned on me that I had forgotten it at your restaurant in the outside seating area hanging over the back of my chair. My heart sank. It was our first day in town and I had more cash in my wallet than I normally ever do (a tip us visitors were given score coming into town). We raced back to the restaurant and sure enough one of your staff members had seen my purse, grabbed it and brought it inside for safekeeping. We were traveling thru madras headed to Portland. We stopped and order some food to eat on the way. We had forgot to add a soda so we asked nicely if we could please add one soda to our order and this manager In the picture said no there's a line and refused to do it. Mind you it's a soda not a slushy or a burger special made the soda machine is right in the drive thru, so we were like are you kidding this manager got super upset and was like no have a nice day and locked the window and proceeded to ignore us we wanted our food and she wouldn't give us our food. So she started serving people out the back door and was laughing at us as we are sitting in the drive thru waiting to pay for at least the food we ordered, so as a restaurant general manager of 15+ years 1) a soda take literally a minute to turn around & make 2) where is the customer service in denying someone service because you struggling to do your job (it's not the customers fault your frustrated 3) turning down company money 4) your provoking customer by laughing at them ? If this is how your managers conduct themselves the company should look at this as a problem. I understand times are rough and it's hard to get people to work these days however the company needs to operate with the standard of the customer in mind because well your in the customer service business ‍‍ I will be going higher in the chain to report this manager !! read more

I would give it a 1 star rating, but it has been a better place in the past. They've closed off all drive in and patio stalls making it drive-thru only. My boyfriend and I used to come here every morning for food. The employees are rude and the line for the drive thru always extends to outside the parking lot. They also won't take your order past 8:50 PM (They close at 9) even if there are cars waiting to order and eat. Very very disappointed in how this sonic is turning out as it used to be our favorite place to go too. Wish someone could call management and get this place fixed but sadly that probably won't happen. read more

The manager was made aware of a filthy bathroom where feces was on the floor and the toilet and no toilet paper. She snapped very rudely at me when I told her about it then informed me she was locking the toilet without cleaning it. When I told her I needed to use it she replied too bad. She also cancelled our order then made us wait 10 minutes before she would give us our receipt for the food we never received. We will never give sonic our business again. We arrived just ahead of the lunch rush, and promptly placed our order as we had two young, hungry children in the car. The two cars that pulled in next two us (after we parked), both got their food, ate, and left before we got our food (easily 20-25 minutes). We pushed the button to ask for the status of our order, and they had no idea where our order was. We had to repeat everything we ordered to them. We waited another 20 minutes, during which time we approached the manager and she told us that it takes them longer to prepare orders when everyone arrives at the same time. I explained that when we pulled in there were 4 cars in the drive thru and maybe 2-3 others in the parking lot. (Which had obviously increased in the time we sat there). She apologized and said they were bagging things as quickly as they could. In addition to the poor service, the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned in some time. There appears to be mold growing on the walls near the ceiling, the floor was covered in wet/muddy toilet paper from being stepped on. i keep coming here on my drive from bend to pdx. i keep getting disappointed. they allow you to pay through the app for what you order and then come out and tell you that the item you ordered is not able to be served to you because of some sort of machine malfunction. this time it was my 5.99 milkshake. and the girl comes out and says that the milkshake machine is down. ok, well that's annoying because you can't refund me? why can't you refund me?? what is that....? we're in 2021, surely there is tech that can assist your giant chain company in completing a transaction as simple and basic as a refund. so ridiculous! My husband made a joke and said "I thought McDonald's was across the street!" And laughed and said I'm just messin. And she said "that's not funny." Uhmm.. okay? Can you take a joke? Not a bad little stop. Sonic is a chain and no matter where you go, you are largely getting the same quality of food no matter where you go. The cheeseburger is about as classic a fast food item and taste as you will ever have. The onion rings I ordered were a touch on the sweet side and a bit overcooked but otherwise serviceable. My one complaint about this location is the single restroom for its patrons. It is on a busy road and many travelers stop by who was a burger an a pit stop. The line when I was there was very long and had many people leaving to dine elsewhere because they couldn't make Sonic their one stop shop. read more

My girlfriend had a hair in her burger, our chili tots had BLACK old chili that were in warped containers that have obviously been sitting in a warmer waiting to be ordered. My girlfriend called the store and they offered us a full refund. We went back to the store and had one manager take our nasty ass food inside and another manager brought out the refund and told us all of her kitchen staff are bald as I looked inside and saw girls with pony tails working on line then she said she was really sorry for the hair and it happens all the time. The one star was because the ice cream sundae and strawberry limeade was tasty. That was the only positive thing about thus place. I had to repeat myself 5 times while ordering the sundae cause the gal was either new or just didn't get it. She finally had a guy take over who knew how to handle an order of a hot fudge and Carmel ice cream sundae. Did you hear banana in that order? Yeah neither did I. We went the next day for lunch cause we were visiting the town. My garlic Parmesan cheesy hotdog tasted barely warm and the bun was nothing special. It was kinda cold and not toasted at all.
