Ate a piece of chicken here and actually sobbed. Full on bawled my eyes out. The menu is glorious. The service is mid. The ambiance is glorious. I will be back soon. Out here there is nothing. Sonic is like a piece of home. read more

Haven't been to sonic in a while and was craving mozzarella sticks and a chicken sandwich. I was 1st very disappointed that you don't offer this any longer. I then ordered a junior cheeseburger and the meat was horrible. Tasted awful. Also, what did you do to your looks? That gray and blue color looks terrible. Zero inviting and attractive. Sad to see Sonic going down. It's pretty bad. Mozzarella sticks were good as always though. read more

this is our second time visiting in one week. Both times the restroom is horrific and unusable for women. Talk to staff but they don't seem to care. They said homeless destroyed it. It's like management staff I've given up. I recommend avoiding if you need to use the restroom. Otherwise the food is classic sonic fun. read more

Stopped here for a quick dinner the other night, but maybe should have kept driving to the BK. Ordered a #10, crispy chicken sandwich combo -- w/ fries & a Sprite. Our orders came out, and my fries were missing from the bag, so we had to go ask for them (they came out a few minutes later). Which reminds me, if you need ketchup for fries or tots, you need to tell them to put some in the bag; because they will bring it out with *nothing* to dip your fries in. The chicken sandwich was really disappointing -- thin and dry, and really quite flavorless. Given the competitive market out there for fast food crispy chix sandwiches, you'd think Sonic would try a little harder here. Maybe offer a spicy sauce to add a little zing? I guess it did the job of keeping the hangry at bay, but it was barely adequate. Cute idea with the "drive-in" theme, but poorly executed. read more

So the food is good. That's not the issue. The burgers are juicy, the chicken sandwiches were seasoned well and the pickles were a nice tough. Even the sides were good. The fries were cooked well and the mozzarella sticks were cooked well -- sometimes places overcook them and you cannot taste the cheese but that's not what happened here. The problem is the speed and the wait. There were to people ahead of us in the drive thru and we waited almost 30 minutes from the time we hit the drive thru (which included waiting 5 minutes just to place our order) until we got our food. When I contacted customer service, I was offered a free side "credited to my Sonic account" which would expire in 30 days. When I told them I did not have a Sonic account, they said that's all they could do and if I did not have a Sonic account, they could not do anything. Terrible customer service both at the restaurant and at the corporate level. read more

I ordered ahead through the app made it for 8:10pm I waited 10 minutes as they filled the drive threw. I have eaten at Sonic restaurants a few times in the past. We stopped at the one in Madras and ordered two crispy chicken sandwiches. They were awful. The buns were so dried out. The chicken was thin, dry, and flavorless. Barely any lettuce on it, maybe a teaspoon of mayonnaise and two pickles. Honestly, it was not good. Don't waste your time here. read more

Under no circumstances go here, we'll the desserts maybe but do not, I repeat do not order food here. We ordered two combos with fries and a leg onion ring and rb float. the meat tasted gamie and the pickles and tomato tasted like fish. I took a bite and quickly spit it out and went and grabbed the mouthwash. I'm stone cold sober and wish I had been at least drunk. Then I smelled the meat- not a good idea. The ff and or tasted like they were cooked in very old oil and had to throw them out too. $26 in the trash, except for the rb float which was good. The employees were nice but the food was the worst fast food I've ever had and I'm 50 and travel for a living. read more

Madras, OR Sonic I can see why Sonic is likely going out of business, they can't get competent help to do a basic job that even a monkey could do. Every single time I have ever gone to Sonic they mess up at least one thing in my order, but usually more. And when you have to drive nearly 20 min. to get there and then drive home, to find out they messed it up, it really ticks me off. Pretzel Twists, you order with the cheese sauce. One cheese sauce is just enough for one twist, so if you order two with cheese sauce, you should get two freezing cheese sauces - NOT JUST ONE!! You get just one you are stuck with one plain pretzel twist with nothing! You order mozzarella sticks (LG) that's 8 sticks, with marinara sauce you should get an absolute minimum of two sauce packs, should get at least 3. Half the time you don't get any sauce or they give you Ranch. Who would want Ranch sauce on mozzarella sticks? I absolutely despise Ranch sauce/dressing to begin with, but on mozzarella sticks? What moron would even put that in the bag and who wants mozzarella sticks without marinara sauce, period? I get really sick of fast food places being incapable of getting an order correct. And I worked at a fast food place when I was a teenager, it is a really simple job. And they now make really good wages and they can't get an order correct. Blows the mind, especially with the exorbitant prices they charge for ever shrinking (size) products. So not surprising at all to read that Sonics are going out of business everywhere. Zero stars review. But they won't let you post less than one star read more

Stopped here on our way home from camping. We had great customer service, our order came out fast and food/drinks were awesome. Thank you!

THE DOG I stopped in for a Sonic lunch on my way through Madras on my way to Points East in September 2019. I was pretty hungry and the fellow at the gas station recommended the hot dog. in retrospect I find that odd since he was a big guy. my Chicago hot dog was rather authentic and quite tasty but really only suitable fare for a nine year old. I could have eaten about three. next time I will order the Big Dog, suitable for adults. or even better, next time I'll wait til Prineville and hit up the Tastee Treet there. I only had a memorable pie a-la-mode, but I noticed everyone there was attacking their burgers with relish. literally. and there is a park across the street where I was able to relax for a bit. THE RESTROOM as far as the Sonic restrooms go I can see other reviewers are pretty hard on the establishment for having a single bathroom. I thought one toilet was pretty weird for a major burger chain on a county two-lane. compare it to a burger king and you will see what serving the roadside public requires. multiple stainless sinks and toilets are not cheap but they are a necessary investment. the bathroom needs to be expanded. the owner is saving a sweet amount of money making us eat in our cars instead of maintaining an entire air conditioned dining area. (and I was on a motorcycle so I just sat there in the heat.) the day I visited, the bathroom was out of order. a be-gloved employee was working hard trying to get it back online, with about seven folks waiting. I didn't have the half-hour it would have taken to wait. I certainly don't blame the employees, they are doing the best they can with essentially home-depot, out-of-state-landlord-grade plumbing fixtures. the owner need to step up and spend or just give up and rent a few port-a-potties. read more

Horrible service. When ordering over the speaker at the drive thru the man had messed up my order and when I pulled up to the window and was handed my order I realized I was missing two Items. I then asked for it to be corrected and would even pay for this miscommunication but the manager denied me and said I would have to go around and wait in the line that I had just waited in for 20 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. The manager was rude and not helpful whatsoever over a simple mistake on their part. We ended up just leaving but I would recommend going to the McDonald's across the street at this point. read more

It's hard to go wring with a Route 44 Strawberry Limeade - extra strawberries, light ice on a 100 degree day in July. True to form Sonic's happy hour (2pm-5pm) delivered - 44 oz of cooled goodness directly to my car for under $1.50. My only critique is that I spent more time waiting to be acknowledged at the ordering kiosk than I ever have at any other "fast food" restaurant in my life. I was the only car there - were they that busy? read more

I would give zero stars if I could, actually negative. We had ordered 4 cheeseburgers and when we got home and opened them there were no hamburger patties on ANY of them. Ok, whatever. It happens, humans make mistakes, no biggie and we laughed about it. We do the usual and call them and they do the usual, take our name for 4 free cheeseburgers. (We didn't want to drive all the way back, kids were already starving) Mistake made right, we can move on. So we go back today (about 2 weeks later, I mean we don't eat fast food often) to get our free cheeseburgers along with another $35 in food and shakes. Well several minutes later and being asked to pull to an order spot (basically get out of the drive through) and a phone call to the manager we were then informed "We called the manager...... our manager didn't take that call and no one here took that call so there is nothing we can do for you." Well isn't that nice. I paid for 4 cheeseburgers and did not get anything for money. A little advice to the manager, maybe believe a paying customer over your obvious poor staff that FAILED to "take our name" to replace an order they messed up on. I managed a fast food restaurant and the customer was ALWAYS right. You think a man, in a newer suburban with 4 kids is going to lie about 4 freaking cheeseburgers?!?!!!!? read more

All I wanted was a little road trip snack. How hard is it to get someone a corn dog and some ketchup? apparently really difficult for the sonic employees. We went through the drive through and it took a very long time for a very simple order. and we specifically asked for a couple ketchup packets. They didn't give us ketchup, so we just walked back over to ask and they acted like they didn't see us, so we went back through the drive thru. the woman rolled her eyes at us and acted like we were rude?!? we were very polite & simply wanted some ketchup. All I have to say is the customer service was very bad & it wasn't busy at all. read more

So disappointed in this location. I went there last night at 8:55. There were other cars in the drive through as well. No one would take our order. We went up to the window and a girl with bright red hair locked the door and threw her hands up and walked away. No explanation. The sign says open until 10. There's no excuse for rude behavior. I get that places are understaffed but still....I doubt I will be going back! read more

Hands down worst experience of any fast food place I've ever had. This same experience happens regularly. I pulled up to the menu/ordering area, and after a few minutes the girl inside says "I can tAke your order, just a moment?" I thought she was ready and started to order. She says "what?" So I started to order again. Then she says, " I can take your order, just a moment?" I said "are you telling me you are ready, or are you telling me to wait?" She says gain, "I can your order, just a moment?" I said, "ok, so you want me to wait. No problem. Just said "Order now." When you're ready. I wait a few more minutes, and what do I hear??? "I can your order, just a moment?" So I ask her, "can I just pull forward and order from the window?" She tells me "No! You need to order from there." What the sam hell? I just want to order food, pay you, get my food and leave. So I order, and she says, "what? Can you repeat your order?" I repeated my order and she says. "Okay." So I pulled forward assuming she got my order. When I get to the window, she tells me the amount, and I give her a $10. She comes back to the window and makes a motion like she's going to throw the change at me. I get it, people have bad days. Don't take it out on your customers! I got my food and drove away. I haven't looked to see if the order is right yet. I used to love this sonic. The people were great, service was fast, and food as as you would expect. But no longer. I would be ashamed to be the owner or an employee of this particular Sonic. read more

I have been there many times since moving to Madras last September. It has been so inconsistent, when you pull up you never know what you're going to get as far as customer service. The food can also be inconsistent as well. I love their Sonic Master blast, but you don't know what to expect when you receive it. At times it's loaded with Snickers bits and perfect. Other times, you get scarcely any bits in the whole order! It's super frustrating to say the least! I know they've had problems keeping staffed there, at pat times they had to shut down for a couple nights. That's crazy in our economy right now, but just to be fair, Dairy Queen, their competitor can also be closed early or shut on Mondays because they don't have enough employees to keep it open normal hours and days. read more

Wow! Ever heard of FRIENDLY customer service?? And when a complaint arises, it's not generally acceptable to say "excuse me? Is there a problem?". Ordered at the drive through but didn't get a response so said "hello?" To which employee responded "I hear you". Got to window and asked to repeat the order; employee worded my order differently so I clarified and she said "that's what I just said". When I called her out on not having good customer service, she hollered back to another employee (Anthony) to take care of us without even an apology or anything! If you hate what you're doing or are having a bad day or whatever, don't take it out on your customers!!! read more

This review is long overdue. I was in town with my family for the total solar eclipse in August. My husband & I were the first ones to arrive and our campsite wasn't open yet so we stopped here to kill time & get a bite to eat. The food was good, the diet cherry limeade was so refreshing in the hot weather. An hour or two after we left I realized I couldn't find my purse when it dawned on me that I had forgotten it at your restaurant in the outside seating area hanging over the back of my chair. My heart sank. It was our first day in town and I had more cash in my wallet than I normally ever do (a tip us visitors were given score coming into town). We raced back to the restaurant and sure enough one of your staff members had seen my purse, grabbed it and brought it inside for safekeeping. Her name was Kelsey so obviously it was meant to be she found it, lol. THANK YOU, KELSEY for being alert, honest and so kind. I appreciate it so much. read more

We ordered and waiting 30+ minutes for our food, only to be told it would be brought out soon. Another 15 mins go by, still no food. Their bathroom was also horrendous. Black mold on the walls, toilet paper everywhere on the floor, and graffiti all over the door. Extremely saddened with Sonic now. We used to love coming here on our trips to eastern Oregon, now we may have to find a new spot. read more

I would give it a 1 star rating, but it has been a better place in the past. They've closed off all drive in and patio stalls making it drive-thru only. My boyfriend and I used to come here every morning for food. The employees are rude and the line for the drive thru always extends to outside the parking lot. They also won't take your order past 8:50 PM (They close at 9) even if there are cars waiting to order and eat. Very very disappointed in how this sonic is turning out as it used to be our favorite place to go too. Wish someone could call management and get this place fixed but sadly that probably won't happen. read more

The manager was made aware of a filthy bathroom where feces was on the floor and the toilet and no toilet paper. She snapped very rudely at me when I told her about it then informed me she was locking the toilet without cleaning it. When I told her I needed to use it she replied too bad. She also cancelled our order then made us wait 10 minutes before she would give us our receipt for the food we never received. We will never give sonic our business again. We were traveling thru madras headed to Portland. We stopped and order some food to eat on the way. We had forgot to add a soda so we asked nicely if we could please add one soda to our order and this manager In the picture said no there's a line and refused to do it. Mind you it's a soda not a slushy or a burger special made the soda machine is right in the drive thru, so we were like are you kidding this manager got super upset and was like no have a nice day and locked the window and proceeded to ignore us we wanted our food and she wouldn't give us our food. So she started serving people out the back door and was laughing at us as we are sitting in the drive thru waiting to pay for at least the food we ordered, so as a restaurant general manager of 15+ years 1) a soda take literally a minute to turn around & make 2) where is the customer service in denying someone service because you struggling to do your job (it's not the customers fault your frustrated 3) turning down company money 4) your provoking customer by laughing at them ? If this is how your managers conduct themselves the company should look at this as a problem. I understand times are rough and it's hard to get people to work these days however the company needs to operate with the standard of the customer in mind because well your in the customer service business ‍‍ I will be going higher in the chain to report this manager !! read more

Stopped on our way home. All the drive ups were closed, went through the drive through and waited several minutes as one of three cars in the entire place with no contact. So we drove up to the window to order only to be told we have to order at the receiver. Why she couldn't simply take our order from the window since she was running the orders and cash register is beyond me. However, she was so bitchy about it , that we said fuck it and went elsewhere. read more

We arrived just ahead of the lunch rush, and promptly placed our order as we had two young, hungry children in the car. The two cars that pulled in next two us (after we parked), both got their food, ate, and left before we got our food (easily 20-25 minutes). We pushed the button to ask for the status of our order, and they had no idea where our order was. We had to repeat everything we ordered to them. We waited another 20 minutes, during which time we approached the manager and she told us that it takes them longer to prepare orders when everyone arrives at the same time. I explained that when we pulled in there were 4 cars in the drive thru and maybe 2-3 others in the parking lot. (Which had obviously increased in the time we sat there). She apologized and said they were bagging things as quickly as they could. In addition to the poor service, the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned in some time. There appears to be mold growing on the walls near the ceiling, the floor was covered in wet/muddy toilet paper from being stepped on. We frequently visit other Sonic locations, and this was our first very disappointing visit. read more

Disgusting. I will NEVER eat here again. My girlfriend had a hair in her burger, our chili tots had BLACK old chili that were in warped containers that have obviously been sitting in a warmer waiting to be ordered. My girlfriend called the store and they offered us a full refund. We went back to the store and had one manager take our nasty ass food inside and another manager brought out the refund and told us all of her kitchen staff are bald as I looked inside and saw girls with pony tails working on line then she said she was really sorry for the hair and it happens all the time. Fucking gross. I will never return to this sonic ever again unless I feel the need for old ass hairy food. Yummy. read more

Not a bad little stop. Sonic is a chain and no matter where you go, you are largely getting the same quality of food no matter where you go. The cheeseburger is about as classic a fast food item and taste as you will ever have. The onion rings I ordered were a touch on the sweet side and a bit overcooked but otherwise serviceable. My one complaint about this location is the single restroom for its patrons. It is on a busy road and many travelers stop by who was a burger an a pit stop. The line when I was there was very long and had many people leaving to dine elsewhere because they couldn't make Sonic their one stop shop. read more

i keep coming here on my drive from bend to pdx. i keep getting disappointed. they allow you to pay through the app for what you order and then come out and tell you that the item you ordered is not able to be served to you because of some sort of machine malfunction. this time it was my 5.99 milkshake. and the girl comes out and says that the milkshake machine is down. ok, well that's annoying because you can't refund me? why can't you refund me?? what is that....? we're in 2021, surely there is tech that can assist your giant chain company in completing a transaction as simple and basic as a refund. so ridiculous! I'm pretty sure the staff here is just insanely lazy. like they just don't want to do the extra work to make the customers experience satisfactory in any way. so anyways she says she can't refund me the 6 bucks , but can't give me the cheesecake milk shake because the "milk shake machine is down" ok so i'm assuming you mean the blender??? but you say you can do a blast. ok well the blast you gave me- it looks pretty blended. i say can you do a cheese cake blast, she says no she can't put the cheesecake stuff in a blast but she can do a banana blast. after receiving my drink i don't see why you were unable to put cheese cake flavoring or graham crackers in my blast. i also ordered whipped cream and a cherry but of course those toppings were not on the blast. if this was the first time something like this happened i wouldn't be so bothered. i've literally left another review about this place on a different occasion before taking about a 6 month break from getting food here. i thought things might improve idk why tho. well ... food me once shame on you , fool me twice shame on me. read more

The one star was because the ice cream sundae and strawberry limeade was tasty. That was the only positive thing about thus place. I had to repeat myself 5 times while ordering the sundae cause the gal was either new or just didn't get it. She finally had a guy take over who knew how to handle an order of a hot fudge and Carmel ice cream sundae. Did you hear banana in that order? Yeah neither did I. We went the next day for lunch cause we were visiting the town. My garlic Parmesan cheesy hotdog tasted barely warm and the bun was nothing special. It was kinda cold and not toasted at all. The food was sloppy looking and not very warm. The gal who brought our food out pretty much whispered the order back and I was like I have no idea what you said and she just gave me a blank look. All in all...food wasn't special and barely warm and thrown together very sloppy. Service was a pain and needs LOTS of help! read more
